The objective of this study was to carry out an adaptation of the Positive Driver Behaviors Scale (PDBS) for Brazil and verify if it would be possible to propose a brief version of the scale. The instrument originally composed of 38 items was applied to 204 motorists in Brazil, the majority being men (65.7%), with a mean age of 35.6 years. The result showed the possibility of a one-factor structure, consisting of a total of 19 items and Cronbach's alpha = .90, explaining 37.9% of the total variance. The relevance of this measure is highlighted because it is a tool capable of evaluating non-traffic behavior. Besides, it provides support to traffic professionals and psychologists, in order to instrumentalize their practices. It also allows further understanding of the phenomenon of transport, which can facilitate the development of effective measures to combat accidents. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This research aimed to elaborate the Female Attitudes Toward the Morning-After Pill Scale (FAMPS), gathering preliminary evidence of validity and accuracy. There were 223 university women (Mean age = 21.44; SD = 4.1; range 18 to 46 years), who were divided into two groups: sexually active (51.6%) and non-active (48.4%). The results showed that the items of the measure have two-factor structure, factor I being named Safety and factor II as Anxiety. The respective factors presented Cronbach’s Alphas of 0.62 and 0.67, in addition to homogeneity of 0.29 and 0.41. It is concluded that this instrument presents preliminary evidences of factorial validity and reliability, providing a measure in Brazilian Portuguese that allows to adequately measure the female attitudes toward the morning-after pill. The aim of this study was to obtain validity evidence of the Escala de Ciber-Violencia en Parejas Adolescentes (Cib-VPA) in the Spanish young adults. A total of 298 undergraduate students (222 women, 75 men and 2 people who identified themselves as 'other') completed the Cib-VPA and other related measures of offline and online dating violence. Internal consistency and construct, convergent and discriminant validity were evaluated. In line with the original validation study, a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) provided evidence for an 18-item model comprising 2 subscales, with 2 factors per subscale. All had acceptable internal consistency values. Total and subscale scores correlated positively with online and offline dating violence measures, with these correlations being stronger in subscales evaluating violence in the same direction (perpetrated or victimisation). As expected, no differences were observed according to gender. This study shows validity evidences of Cib-VPA scores, which can be quickly and inexpensively administered to large samples of young adults. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

PEARSON correlation (Statistics) , *PSYCHOMETRICS , *SEX addiction , *FACTOR analysis , *CRONBACH'S alpha - Abstract
Introduction: The MAS instrument, a test to assess sex addiction, has presented drawbacks at the factorial level. For this reason, this research sought to estimate the psychometric properties of the sex addiction measurement instrument (MAS) in Colombian population. Method: Initially, an expert judgment was carried out to establish the validity of content through Aiken's V, then the MAS and the sexual inhibition/arousal scale (SIS/SES) were applied to 337 participants through a form web (Google forms) of which 312 met the inclusion criteria (221 women and 91 men) aged between 18 and 65 years (x _ = 28.49, SD = 9.77). Using SPSS, Cronbach's alpha, Pearson's correlation, and a factorial analysis with Varimax rotation were calculated. Results: The analyzes showed a good reliability, a correlation adjusted to what was expected in relation to the SIS/SES test and the factorial analysis showed six factors that present differences in comparison with the initially proposed test. Conclusion: The sex addiction measurement test (MAS) has an adequate level of reliability, but does not have adequate construct validity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: The factor structure of the Pain Catastrophizing Scale (PCS) has rarely been adequately analyzed (e.g., performing principal component analyses rather than factorial approximations). We aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the PCS through a variety of exploratory and confirmatory factorial approaches. Method: Three hundred ninety-four Chilean patients with musculoskeletal pain were included (age, M = 49.61, SD = 18.00; 71.57% women). Eight factorial models were proposed to analyze the structure of the data. In addition, validity evidence of the PCS based on relationships with other variables were analyzed considering pain intensity and kinesiophobia. Results: The results suggest a unidimensional structure. Models with more than one dimension exhibited undesirable factor loadings or inadequate indices of fit. Based on these results, a short version of the scale composed of 4 items is proposed (PCS-4). The PCS-4 scores demonstrated high levels of invariance between sex, chronicity, and education groups and also were associated with pain and kinesiophobia. Conclusions: The results of the PCS-4 Spanish version showed evidence of reliability and validity for adequately measuring pain catastrophizing in Chileans who suffer from musculoskeletal pain. The PCS-4 is a short form that should be explored in future studies (e.g., in other Spanish-speaking populations). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

PROCRASTINATION - Abstract
This study aimed to adapt and validate the Irrational Procrastination Scale (IPS) and Pure Procrastination Scale (PPS) for Brazilian Portuguese. Therefore, 2666 university students were invited to participate in the study (M = 26.08; SD = 6.6; 77% female). The factorial structures were analyzed through exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses. The validity was investigated through Pearson's correlations between the subscales of the Academic Procrastination Questionnaire - Negative Consequences and DASS-21. The reliability of the scales and their factors were evaluated through Cronbach's alpha. The results indicated a one-dimensional IPS structure and a three-factor solution with a higher-order factor for PPS. Significant correlations were found between the IPS and PPS with the other measurements, revealing concurrent and convergent validity for both scales. The instruments showed good internal consistency, with alphas ranging from 0.80 to 0.91. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The objective of this study was threefold: to validate a version of the Sexting Behavior Scale in adolescents, to assess the prevalence of sexting behaviors, and to determine their associated consequences. A total of 1,271 (50.8% girls) students participated, with a mean age of 15.6 (SD = 1.13). The results show through the confirmatory factor analysis a good fit for the two-dimensional model consisting of items that are grouped into sending photos and/or vídeos (α =.83) and sending text messages with erotic/sexual content (α =.83); 52.8% of adolescents have been identified to carry out sexting behaviors, with texts (91.7%) being more erotic/sexual than photos and/or vídeos (57.8%), and boys the ones that most content send. In addition, 11.6% of adolescents were forced to send sexting content and 5.5% of them were blackmailed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The impostor syndrome reflects doubts about personal achievements and abilities in the absence of external evidence that supports such perception. This study aimed to adapt the Clance Impostor Phenomenon Scale (CIPS) to the Brazilian context, gathering evidence of its factorial validity and reliability. Two studies were conducted. Study 1 included 201 undergraduate students (Mage = 22.5, SD = 5.04; 71.6% female) and Study 2 analyzed 252 graduate students (Mage = 30.4, SD = 6.18; 75% female). All participants answered the CIPS and demographic questions. Exploratory factor analyses (EFA) were conducted in both studies, indicating a one-factor structure, explaining between 46.3% (Study 1) and 57% (Study 2) of the total variance, showing internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha) above 0.90. The CIPS proved to be a psychometrically adequate scale that could be used in future studies to understand the overall dimension of the impostor syndrome and its correlates. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The present study aimed to develop the General Conspiracy Belief Scale (ECGC), seeking evidence of its factorial validity and internal consistency. For this, two studies were carried out. In Study 1 (n=229) an analysis of the main components identified a five factor structure, each composed of three items: pharmaceutical manipulation (a=.74), global conspiracies (a=.80), manipulation by secret groups (a=.80), extraterrestrial contact cover ups (a=.92) and information control (a=.60). In Study 2 (n=229) the confirmatory factor analysis indicated that the bifactor model best fitted the data (CFI=.96, TLI=.94, RMSEA=.06). The final version of the ECGC, composed of 15 items, presents adequate psychometric evidence to evaluate beliefs in conspiracy theories, which can be used in research in the Brazilian context. Two studies with university students were conducted with the objective of adapting to the Brazilian context the Rape Causes Perception Scale (RCPS), gathering evidence of its factorial and convergent validities and reliability. Study 1 had 220 people with a mean age of 23.5 years old (SD = 7.56; ranged from 18 to 63 years) (64.5% female), while in Study 2 participants were 203 individuals with a mean age 21.4 years old (SD = 5.17; ranged from 18 to 51 years) (54.2% female), all having answered demographic questions, the RCPS and a measure of negative attitudes towards rape victims. The analyzes corroborated its theoretical structure of five components, presenting reliability coefficients ranging from 0.70 to 0.92. In addition, a positive correlation between RCPS and negative attitudes towards victims was observed (convergent validity). In conclusion, this scale showed evidence of factorial and convergent validity, as well as reliability, supporting its use in future studies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
This study aimed to develop the Disposition to Nostalgia Scale (DNS) and to investigate evidence for its factorial validity, convergent validity and internal consistency. The aim was to assemble 20 items that were in the literature or were designed with the purpose of describing nostalgic experiences. Participants were 208 undergraduate students (Mage=22.8 years, SD=6.13, ranging from 18 to 60), the majority male (50.7%), single (86.5%), and from the middle social class (54.1%). They answered the initial items of the DNS and two other measures that assess the same construct: The Nostalgia Inventory (NI) and the Southampton Nostalgia Scale (SNS), in addition to demographic questions. Factorial analysis (PAF) was performed, identifying a general factor that accounted for 42.3% of the total variance, presenting adequate reliability (a=.84). Corroborating evidence for its convergent validity, the DNS scores correlated positively with the two other nostalgia measures (NI and SNS). In conclusion, the DNS presents adequate psychometric properties and can be used to assess the disposition to nostalgia. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Academic satisfaction has been studied from different perspectives that considerate distinct ways of measurement. However, the plurality of evaluated facets prevents a more parsimonious assessment of the general students' academic satisfaction. In the article, we aimed to provide psychometric evidence of the validity and reliability for the AMSS in Brazil in two studies (N = 893). In Study 1, an exploratory factor analysis and item parameters (Item Response Theory) support the one-factor solution and the suitability of the six items. Moreover, evidence for factorial invariance across gender and convergent validity with the PANAS and with the SWLS was also presented in Study 2. In conclusion, the present paper provides evidence of the adequacy of the AMSS to evaluate global satisfaction with the academics course in Brazil. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

BEHAVIORAL assessment , *CRONBACH'S alpha , *YOUNG adults , *QUESTIONNAIRES , *SOCIAL context - Abstract
This study shows the process carried out in the design and validation of a questionnaire that evaluates phubbing behaviors and the effects they produce in people's lives. These behaviors can be defined as the act of ignoring people in a social environment by looking at the phone instead of paying attention to the conversation (Błachnio and Przepiorka, 2019). Through the method of natural semantic networks, the procedure followed for the creation of the instrument is described in collaboration with a group of experts. The content validation of the questionnaire is presented through the judgment of experts and the reliability obtained through Cronbach's Alpha coefficient with a pilot sample. The sample that participates in the validation of the content of the questionnaire is composed of eighteen experts, who contribute meanings to the word phubbing. The results obtained offer to the investigation eighty-six concepts related to the term phubbing that determine the structure of the questionnaire in five dimensions: cultural, technological, social, psychological and communicational. Reliability analyzes, obtained with a pilot sample of 250 people, state that the instrument is suitable for the evaluation of phubbing behaviors in young people and adults. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The quality of an instrument depends on its validity and reliability. Objective: to build and validate a scale for the evaluation of the performance of educational actions of the family with the schoolchild during the confinement by COVID-19. Instrument validation study; 140 families participated. Four components were observed that explained 74.772% of the variance. Reliability by dimensions, Childcare: a = 0.91, Affection: a = 0.850, Communication: a = 0.845, Learning at home: a = 0.919) and Total scale: a = 0.970. The KMO value and the Bartlett sphericity test showed a correlation structure between the variables. The reliability coefficients were high both for dimensions and for the global scale. The results described support that the scale has acceptable psychometric qualities. It provides specific indicators and dimensions to measure what is proposed. Its application is taxed for professional practice and facilitates the description of the performance of educational actions of the family with children at school. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this study was to examine the psychometric properties of the Recovery Experience Questionnaire in Argentina. Five-hundred and five workers from public, private and non-governmental sectors participated in the study. Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the four-factor model has an acceptable fit to the data. Thus, as the original scale, the Argentinean validation maintains the four recovery experiences-- psychological detachment from work, relaxation, mastery experiences and control over leisure time. Reliability analyses showed good internal consistency (Cronbach's a ranging from .75 to .92) and construct reliability (coefficient H ranging from .88 to .93) for all sub-scales. Expected correlations with measures of work engagement, burnout and negative affect supported for criterion validity. Thus, the Recovery Experience Questionnaire shows adequate psychometric properties for its use in Argentina, thereby providing a reliable instrument that allows deepening knowledge about recovery, and a valuable assessment tool for practitioners. This study aimed to evaluate the dimensionality of the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES), by testing the adjustment of eight factorial models: a one-factor and two-factor model and six single-factor models controlling for the method effect associated with the wording of negative and positive items, through the correlated traits-correlated uniqueness (CTCU) and correlated traits-correlated methods (CTCM) approaches. We also tested measurement invariance across gender. A total of 689 participants took part in the study, with ages between 18 and 70 years (M = 25.5; SD = 8.06), mainly females (77.1%), who answered the RSES and sociodemographic questions. The results showed that single-factor models controlling for the effect of negative items alone or positive and negative items together best fit the data. The results also indicated that the RSES is invariant across gender, presenting the same theoretical structure and psychological meaning for men and women. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Anxiety disorders are the most frequent mental disorders and they represent an important health problem in Mexico, so it is important to detect them with the use of valid assessment instruments. The goal of our study is to establish several psychometric properties of the GADI (Generalized Anxiety Disorder Inventory) in college students of Morelia (Mexico). The GADI and other scales were applied to assess the presence of anxiety, pathological worry, depressive symptomatology and gaudiebility in a sample of university students. A confirmatory factor analysis was applied. Our results corroborate the three factor structure of the original version and other studies. We observed a high internal consistency of the total scale (α =.928) and also was adequate for the 3 factors. Regarding the evidence of concurrent validity, the correlations between the GADI scale and the other scales were as expected. High test-retest reliability was also observed in a period of four weeks. the empirical data indicate that the GADI presents satisfactory validity and reliability for college population. Likewise, descriptive data are offered in the university population of Morelia (Mexico). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: The aim of this study was to develop and validate a Spanish-language version of the Scale for Contraversive Pushing, used to diagnose and measure pusher behaviour in stroke patients. Methods: Translation–back translation was used to create the Spanish-language Scale for Contraversive Pushing; we subsequently evaluated its validity and reliability by administering it to a sample of patients. We also analysed its sensitivity to change in patients identified as pushers who received neurological physiotherapy. Results: Experts indicated that the content of the scale was valid. Internal consistency was very good (Cronbach's alpha of 0.94). The intraclass correlation coefficient showed high intra- and interobserver reliability (0.999 and 0.994, respectively). The Kappa and weighted Kappa coefficients were used to measure the reliability of each item; the majority obtained values above 0.9. Lastly, the differences between baseline and final evaluations of pushers were significant (paired sample t test), showing that the scale is sensitive to changes obtained through physical therapy. Conclusions: The Spanish-language version of the Scale for Contraversive Pushing is valid and reliable for measuring pusher behaviour in stroke patients. In addition, it is able to evaluate the ongoing changes in patients who have received physical therapy.

Abstract Oral exams are interpersonal situations that can trigger unpleasant emotions associated to social exposure, especially before and during the examination. Students frequently use avoidance behaviors to cope with emotional distress. To resolve limitations in behavioral avoidance in oral exam situations, a specific inventory was developed and its psychometric properties were analyzed. For this purpose, the construct and its two dimensions were conceptually defined. Items congruent with this definition were created and reliability and validity evidence was documented. In this research, 251 students (81.3% women) from different careers participated, with predominance of psychology students (57.8%), and an average age of 25 years. Validity and reliability results showed that the dimensions of inhibition and postponement of behavioral avoidance in oral exams can be measured with fourteen items. Its structure, internal consistency and test criteria, according to different studies, was analyzed in relation to achievement and delay indicators, as well as gender and grade point average of groups. Introduction: Assessing adherence in schizophrenia facilitates interventions that optimize outcomes. Adherence rating questionnaires are feasible and non-intrusive; however, no validated measure exists in sub-Saharan Africa. We aimed to assess the psychometric properties of the 10-item Medication Adherence Rating Scale (MARS). Methods: This was a cross-sectional study of a cohort of patients with schizophrenia (n=230). A sociodemographic questionnaire, the Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview (MINI), Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS), Scale for the Unawareness of Mental Disorder (SUMD) and the MARS were all administered by an interviewer. Results: The MARS demonstrated good reliability (Cronbach's alpha: 0.76). The scale was reducible to a 3-factor construct (1 - medication adherence behavior, 2 - attitude to taking medications, and 3 - negative side effects and attitude to psychotropics), with significant though weak external validity in relation to psychopathology (p<0.001) and insight (p<0.001). The first factor showed good internal consistency (a=0.80), comprising six items that could serve as a reliable proxy measure of adherence in place of the MARS. Conclusion: The MARS demonstrated fair psychometric characteristics in assessing adherence in patients with schizophrenia in this cohort. The scale may be useful in the dimensional assessment of medication adherence for schizophrenia in sub-Saharan African settings. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Learning physics involves hard efforts whose results are often paradoxically disproportionate, which leads to generate a strategy to assess the level of stress among students since this in turn allows to establish pedagogical and didactic actions for teaching physics and to enhance physical thinking. Objective: to establish the validity and reliability of a scale to evaluate the stress in students of physics courses in higher education institutions of the municipality of Cúcuta in times of covid-19. Materials and Methods: Descriptive cross-sectional study, instrumental design; evidence of construct validity was evaluated through confirmatory factor analysis, correlation and comparison; internal consistency was estimated through Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. The sample was constituted by 1200 participants selected from the population of students of public and private educational institutions of the municipality of Cúcuta, Colombia, of different academic programs that have enrolled physics courses. Results: a scale with 20 items and 3 factors is formed: anxiety, institutional pressure, coping and its reliability and validity for the diagnosis of stress in students of physics courses is evaluated. Conclusion: the scale to evaluate stress in students is valid and reliable

- Abstract
The need for group identification reflects an individual tendency to identify with social groups or goals. This research seeks to adapt the Identification Need Scale (INS) to the Brazilian context, counting on two studies on its factorial validity evidence and internal consistency. Study 1 included 244 participants (mean age=21.9, 66.3% female), and the results suggested a two-factor structure: self- definition and belonging. Study 2 included 246 participants (mean age=21.3, 68.7% female), confirming this two-factor structure, with satisfactory adjustment indicators (e.g., CFI=0.96, TLI=0.94). In both studies the factors demonstrated adequate reliability indices. It was concluded that the Brazilian version of INS gathered adequate psychometric evidence, supporting its use in Brazil to evaluate the individual tendency to define itself as a member of a group. INTIMATE partner violence , *SOCIAL conditions in Brazil , *PSYCHIATRIC rating scales - Abstract
Violence by intimate partners is a cause of concern in several countries, including Brazil. Although some instruments that measure this phenomenon have been found, the Acceptance of Couple Violence Scale (ACVS) has proven to be a brief measure with satisfactory psychometric properties. For this reason, we have sought to investigate its psychometric properties in Brazilian samples. The ACVS was subjected to two studies. Study 1 indicated a two-factor structure with satisfactory internal consistency. Study 2 showed that a three-factor structure, which is in agreement with the original study, is more plausible than one- and twofactor models, with its reliability varying from 0.61 to 0.80. In addition, a correlation was found between the factor of female violence and social desirability, which suggests that future studies should take this variable into account. It was concluded that the ACVS is a valid and precise measure and that it may be used in future studies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This research aimed at elaborating the Attitudes toward Adoption Scale (ATAS), gathering evidence of factorial validity and reliability. Two studies were carried out in the general population from João Pessoa (PB). Study 1 participants were 206 people, mostly female (60%) and single (65%), with a mean age of 32 years. They answered the ATAS and demographic questions. The items of this measure identified a trifactorial structure with Cronbach's alphas higher than 0.70. Study 2 participants were 215 people, most of them female (51.6%) and single (48.4%), with a mean age of 33 years. The trifactorial solution was supported by confirmatory factor analysis, where Cronbach's alpha higher than 0.70. In conclusion, this instrument shows evidence of factorial validity and reliability, supporting measuring attitudes toward adoption in the general population. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This text reports the adaptation and psychometric characteristics of psychological harassment measures: the frequency perception and the affective impact harassment scales. The instruments -self-applicable- had identical items, but were answered in different scales; one referring to the harassment perception and the other, to the affective impact caused by the phenomenon. 216 workers participated, who occupy diverse positions, like administrative support activities, health assistance, general services, people servicing and reception, military officers, sales and teachers. They were between 17 and 61 years-old, and 65% was female. Factorial analysis results revealed two Harassment Perception Scale factors, but only one of them was revealed in the Harassment Affective Impact Scale. Satisfactory internal consistency indicators pointed out that all the items contributed to improve scales reliability. The structure found differed from that related in literature, and such results are the basis of results discussion.

The purpose of this research was to adapt an assessment scale of the parental health locus of control to the brazilian context. Initially, direct and back translations of the scales developed by Tinsley and Holtgrave (1989) were done. Throughout the investigative process (judge, semantic and psychometric analyses) the need to create new items showed up leading to a new scale called Parental Health Locus of Control Scale (PHLCS). Each of the investigative stages had a particular sample. The main sample was constituted of 266 carers (average age=35.17 years old) .The last 18 items of the PHLSC were discriminative. The accuracy ratings (Cronbach's alpha) for the three dimensions of the PHLCS were between 0.67 and 0.80. The factor validity indicated that the scale is not unidimentional. Descriptive statistics of the ratings are depicted as a reference to those professionals who might want to use them.

The purpose of the study was to develop and present validation evidences for a managerial competence mastery scale in the context of public management. The development of the initial instrument for data collection was based on literature analysis, and on theoretical and semantic validation made by judges, in addition to a pre-test. The questionnaire was electronically answered by 447 professionals—managers and non-managers—that belong to different public companies that works at the state level, engaged in technical assistance and rural extension. The results of exploratory factorial analysis presented signs of validity and reliability, indicating thirty competency items that were grouped into three factors: contribution for strategy, public service rendering and team management. As conclusion, the evidence indicates the validity of the scale to measure the managerial competence mastery, contributing to the evolution of managerial studies and increasing the reliability thereof. Additionally, the identified competencies reinforce the role of the managers in the alignment and management of organizational strategy, they indicate the existence of common characteristics of managers that work in different organizations and also demonstrate the adequacy of this instrument to the public sector reality. Finally, the use of the scale is suggested in other research contexts in order to confirm its structure and generalization potential.

The validity was investigated through Pearson’s correlations between the subscales of the Academic Procrastination Questionnaire ─ Negative Consequences and DASS-21. The reliability of the scales and their factors were evaluated through Cronbach’s alpha. The article proposes a cross-cultural adaptation (Herdman, Fox-Rushby & Badia, 1998) of "Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale" for adolescents who live in an urban neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro (São Gonçalo). The sample was composed of 266 adolescents, students of the 7th/ 8th grade of Elementary School and of the 1st/2nd grade of High School, of public and private schools of São Gonçalo/RJ. The following equivalences were evaluated: conceptual and itens equivalences, semantic equivalence (referential and general meaning), measurement equivalence (test-retest reliability, internal consistency, factorial analysis and construct validity) and operational and functional equivalences. Good results were obtained for semantics equivalence, alpha of Cronbach was of 0.68, the Kappa was moderate and regular, and the factorial analysis proposed two structures of factors (low and high self-esteem). Construct validity showed significant positive correlation with social support and negative correlation with psychological abuse, violence between parents and brothers. The results indicate the applicability of the scale in a reference population, suggesting the necessity to develop others studies in distinct samples.

- Abstract
In recent years difficulties in the field of teaching have increased considerably, due to what it is known as disruptive classroom behaviour. Proof of this can be seen in the fact that this topic is the focus of numerous recent studies and also in the fact that this question appears frequently in the media. The main purpose of this study is to validate a scale in order to know objectively the views of educational professionals about disruptive classroom behaviours. Taking into account previous literature and working with a panel of experts, a new scale of 15 items was developed. The scale was distributed to a sample composed of 346 professionals with an average age of 43. An exploratory factor analysis, a principal components analysis and an analysis of correladons between factors were applied. Such analyses have confirmed that the factorial structure of the scales converges towards the anticipated factors and it reaffirms its weight and confidence level. It can be concluded from this that the scale is valid for measuring the perception of teachers regarding the question being studied. The data indicates an op timum fit of the three-dimensional structure to the items of the scale. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
A study was designed with the aim to evaluate the academic environment stressors. As for this, the employed evaluation instruments currently were not adequately adapted to university setting assessment, or were not sufficiently exhaustive to cover the generating stress sources of academic stress. At the study, 1,196 undergraduate students of different university degrees endorsed the Stressor Academic Scale. The results supported a scale consisting of 54 items, structured around 8 factors explaining 66% of the variance. The scale showed to be reliable as a whole (α = 0.96), ranging for factors between 0.81 and 0.94. The factors were: teachers' methodological deficiencies; academic over-burden; beliefs about performances; public interventions; negative social environment; exams; content worthlessness; and participation difficulties. PHYSICAL activity , *HEALTH of college students , *EXERCISE , *SELF regulation , *HEALTH promotion , *HEALTH behavior - Abstract
Strategies for health promotion underscore the importance of physical activity for wellness and disease prevention. However, the information made available to people seldom has an impact on their habits. Consolidating healthy physical activity habits requires, in addition to knowledge, the provision of tools to observe, assess and initiate and maintain actions to achieve its goals. Young people are one of the most important risk groups in the development of obesity because they are still in at the stage of consolidating their habits. Therefore, the aim of this study was to design and validate an instrument to measure self-regulation in physical activity in Mexican university students. Initially 51 items were drafted, which were later evaluated by four experts. Two applications of the instrument were conducted with a total of 424 participants. Factorial analysis of non-weighted least squares with Promax rotation was performed. Factor loading under 0.40 or commonality below 0.30 were discarded. A 12 item instrument grouped in three factors was obtained which explained 49.4% of the variance: self-reaction, self-observation and self-evaluation. Finally, using Cronbach's alpha test, the instrument had a high reliability coefficient (á = .846). This scale is a valid and reliable tool for measuring self-regulation of the physical activity habits of Mexican college students and can be used to develop diagnostics and evaluate interventions to improve physical activity habits.
