A CPW-fed, C-shaped antenna is designed for Ultra-wideband (UWB) applications. In the proposed design, there is a wide slot in the ground plane in such a way that the C-shaped radiator accommodates within that slot. Moreover, two slots have been cut on either side of the lower ground plane to down the return loss from 10 dB. The dimension of the antenna is 25 mm × 25 mm × 1.6 mm which is etched on the FR4 dielectric material having a loss tangent of 0.02 and a dielectric constant is 4.4. The bandwidth of the antenna is 9 GHz (3–12 GHz) or, 120%. The designed antenna can be used for broadcasting purposes because its E-fields radiation pattern is almost omnidirectional in a lower range of frequencies. This paper introduces a highperformance multiple - input - multiple - output (MIMO) antenna featuring a compact circular shape with slots, fed through co-planar wave-guide (CPW), emphasizing low mutual coupling. The proposed antenna has been physically realized using an FR4 substrate. Enhancing the antenna characteristics involved creating slits positioned at a 120-degree angle to each other, alongside a central circular-shaped slot within the patch. The arrangement of antenna elements involves an edge-to-edge distance of 0.18λ (4mm) to ensure isolation surpassing 15dB across the entire wideband range. The compact MIMO antenna overall dimension is 0.81λ x 1.45λ x 0.073λ (18 x 32 x 1.61 mm3). The CPW-fed circular patch MIMO antenna proposed in this study resonates at 12.611 GHz, and 13.852 GHz, exhibiting an impedance bandwidth of 2.65 GHz (12.116 GHz to 14.772 GHz). It showcases a reflection coefficient of -31.833dB and achieves an observed gain of 5.81 dBi. The observed results include a low envelope correlation coefficient (<0.025) and a high diversity gain (>9.87) at the resonating frequency. The measured outcomes closely align with the simulated results, indicating the efficacy of the designed wideband antenna. A type of telecommunication technology called an ultra-wideband (UWB) is used to provide a typical solution for short-range wireless communication due to large bandwidth and low power consumption in transmission and reception. Printed monopole antennas are considered as a preferred platform for implementing this technology because of its alluring characteristics such as light weight, low cost, ease of fabrication, integration capability with other systems, etc. Therefore, a compact-sized ultra-wideband (UWB) printed monopole antenna with improved gain and efficiency is presented in this article. Computer simulation technology microwave studio (CSTMWS) software is used to build and analyze the proposed antenna design technique. This broadband printed monopole antenna contains a jug-shaped radiator fed by a coplanar waveguide (CPW) technique. The designed UWB antenna is fabricated on a low-cost FR-4 substrate with relative permittivity of 4.3, loss tangent of 0.025, and a standard height of 1.6 mm, sized at 25 mm × 22 mm × 1.6 mm, suitable for wireless communication system. The designed UWB antenna works with maximum gain (peak gain of 4.1 dB) across the whole UWB spectrum of 3–11 GHz. The results are simulated, measured, and debated in detail. Different parametric studies based on numerical simulations are involved to arrive at the optimal design through monitoring the effects of adding cuts on the performance of the proposed antennas. Therefore, these parametric studies are optimized to achieve maximum antenna bandwidth with relatively best gain. Spiral‐shaped UWB antennas, which are differ from each other in terms of feeding structure are presented in this manuscript. CPW and microstrip line feeding are used to excite the designed antenna to obtain different performance parameters. The overall physical dimensions of proposed antennas are 27 × 27 × 1.6 mm3. These antennas are designed on low cost FR4 glass epoxy substrate with 1.6 mm thickness and dielectric constant 4.4. Impedance bandwidth (S11 < −10 dB) obtained for measured CPW‐fed antenna is 176.82% ranging (1.23‐20.0 GHz) and microstrip line‐fed antenna is 169% ranging (1.68‐20.0 GHz). Various performance parameters of both the designed antennas are observed and calculated, such as, radiation pattern, gain, group delay, and radiation efficiency, which all are in the acceptable range for distinct UWB communication and other wireless standards. The optimized designed antennas are fabricated and tested for the validation of results and comparison among simulated and measured results of antennas have been made and found in good agreement with each other. A compact coplanar‐waveguide (CPW)‐fed ultrawideband (UWB) antenna with quadruple rejected bands is proposed. To realize the bandwidth requirement of UWB communication, a gradient folk‐shaped radiating patch and a symmetrical ground plane are employed, which help to cover a frequency band from 2.7 to 10.7 GHz. In order to obtain four rejected bands within the UWB frequency band, four different slots including a cap‐shaped slot, two meandering slots, and a split‐ring are utilized, which contribute to generate rejected bands at C‐band (3.60‐4.32 GHz), wireless local area networks bands (5.17‐5.32 GHz and 5.80‐5.93 GHz), and International Telecommunication Union service band (7.8‐8.2 GHz), respectively. Excellent band‐notched features are obtained by optimizing the positions and lengths of the four slots. In this paper, a series of compact and miniaturized UWB‐printed antennas with a controllable notch function are proposed. The CPW structure is adopted to feed the proposed antenna, where the overall dimension is as compact as 15 mm × 15 mm × 0.5 mm. From 2.8GHz to 12GHz, the antennas proposed have a superior performance with approximate 2:1 VSWR, except the rejection frequency band. In addition, the main feature of the proposed antennas are their controllable notch frequency, notch amplitude, and notch orders, which are determined by the size of the circular U‐shaped slit, the position of the connecting line, and the number of slits, respectively. In this paper, a compact coplanar waveguide (CPW) fed ultra-wide band (UWB) multi input multi output (MIMO) antenna is proposed. The antenna consists of two antiparallel hexagonal ring monopole elements. Circular arcs shaped grounded stubs are used to enhance the isolation, both the arcs are connected through stub to make common ground. Tapering of the slots of CPW feed line at feed point, and grounded slots are introduced for impedance matching over UWB. The proposed antenna is fabricated and impedance bandwidth, isolation, radiation pattern, and gain are measured. Moreover, envelop correlation coefficient (ECC) results are given. In this work, we present the design and analysis of compact coplanar waveguide-fed ultra wideband rectangular antennas. These proposed antennas exhibit very wide operating bandwidth (return loss ≤-10dB) which covers 3.2-15 GHz range, which means a relative bandwidth of 126% covering FCC defined UWB band with stable omnidirectional radiation patterns and important gain. The parameters of antennas have been investigated and optimized by using two electromagnetic solvers. A good agreement has been obtained between simulation and measurement results. These antennas are useful for UWB indoor applications, handheld and wireless communication requiring low profile antennas. A compact asymmetrically CPW-fed ladder- shaped UWB fractal antenna is presented. An impedance bandwidth of 4.56-13.1 GHz is achieved by using four iterations of H-shaped radiating element, modified feed line, asymmetrical feeding and slot loaded ground plane. Omnidirectional radiation patterns are achieved in H-plane at all frequency points in the operating frequency band. The bidirectional nature of E-plane patterns at lower frequencies is observed to be shifted to directional nature at higher frequencies. The designed antenna structure has an average gain of 2.84 dB with a constant group delay. The designed antenna structure is analyzed for three different substrate materials i.e. CNT, NiCoZnFeO and FR-4 epoxy. A good agreement is achieved between the simulated and measured results. ABSTRACT A compact coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna for indoor ultrawideband (UWB) applications is presented. The overall size of the antenna is 31 × 43 mm2. To increase the isolation factor, the common ground plane (CGP) is reinforced with a set of corrugations and frills and the outer ground plane of the first port is self-coupled. The radiators are designed perpendicular to each other in order to improve the pattern diversity. The measured results show the antenna operates at frequency range 3.9-8.1 GHz. A compact (20 x 20 mm² size), coplanar waveguide (CPW) fed, octagonal slotted, dual-band antenna is presented in this paper. The proposed antenna has a simple structure consisting of an octagonal slot, L-shape stub, and a two stepped rectangular patch. The introduction of the L-shaped metallic stubs in the ground plane generates a lower resonance frequency at 2.42 GHz. The proposed antenna is fabricated on a low cost FR4 substrate having thickness of 1.6 mm. The measured impedance bandwidth of the proposed antenna is from 2.40 to 2.46 GHz and 3.2 to 6.2 GHz. It is also shown that the proposed antenna has stable radiation patterns of almost dumb-bell shape in the E-plane and omni-directional shape in the H-plane. The effects of various design parameters on the impedance bandwidth are also studied and presented in detail. This paper presents the results of a novel fractal monopole antenna that exhibits Ultra-Wideband (UWB) performance. Higher order iteration of the fractal motif constituting the antenna was analyzed and its performance evaluated in order to optimize the antenna's characteristics. Compared to a typical circular monopole antenna, the proposed antenna generates reflection-coefficient resonances that significantly improve its impedance bandwidth by 160%. In this paper, a small ultra wideband (UWB) antenna with co-planar waveguide (CPW) feed, consisting of a polygon-shaped design on the patch and a ground plane truncated with two mirror rectangular-shaped notches is designed for ultra wideband (UWB) applications. In this proposed antenna, through increasing the number of cuts inside the initial patch, a proper control on the upper frequency of the band can be achieved. The overall dimension of the antenna is 19×19 ×1 mm³ and fed by 50 Ω coplanar waveguide. The proposed antenna is developed and its VSWR is compared with the simulated result. The proposed antenna operates in the adopted bandwidth (3.1 GHz-10.6 GHz) with VSWR < 2, and covers it very well from 3 GHz to 14.9 GHz, which provides fractional bandwidths of more than 132%. Abstract: In this article, an ultrawide band inscribed triangle circular fractal antenna is presented. The antenna has been designed on FR4 substrate dielectric constant ɛ r =4.3 and thickness of substrate 1.53mm with initial dimension of 30mm diameter. The experimental result of fractal antenna exhibits the excellent ultra bandwidth from 2.25GHz to 15GHz corresponds to 147.83% impedance bandwidth at VSWR 2:1. This ultrawide band characteristcs of antenna has been achieved by using the CPW-fed and fractal concept. The measured radiation pattern of fractal antenna is nealy omnidirectional in azimuth plane and bidirectional in elevation plane. Abstract: A coplanar waveguide (CPW) fed ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna with a notch band characteristic is presented for 2.4GHz and UWB applications. The bandwidth is broadened by embedding two inverted L-shaped slots in the CPW ground and the notch band is achieved by etching a rectangle slot in the CPW ground. The notched band can be controlled by adjusting the length of the rectangle slot and the two inverted L-shaped slots. Experimental and numerical results show that the proposed antenna with compact size of 28×21mm2, has an impedance bandwidth range from 2.38GHz to 12.0GHz for voltage standing-wave ratio (VSWR) less than 2, expect the notch band frequency 5.0–6.0GHz for HIPERLAN/2, IEEE 802.11a (5.1–5.9GHz) and C-band (4.4–5GHz) for satellite and military applications. In this article, a simple and compact CPW-fed planar monopole antenna for ultra-wideband applications is presented and investigated.The proposed antenna with a small size of 26 mm × 26 mm × 1 mm is composed of a gourd-like radiation element fed by a CPW feed line, and a modified stair-style ground. The proposed antenna has been successfully designed, fabricated, and measured. The measured results show that the antenna achieves a wide impendence bandwidth from 3.1 to 15.2 GHz with return loss less than -10 dB. A small and compact ultra-wideband (UWB) monopole antenna with variable frequency band-notched characteristic is presented. The antenna consists of a coplanar waveguide fed triangular shaped radiating patch with a parasitic resonant structure in the conductor backed-plane. It is shown that the when the antenna is bisected, the bifurcated antenna exhibits virtually identical characteristics as the original UWB antenna, including variable frequency band-notched characteristics. It is also shown that the antenna's VSWR characteristics can be enhanced by deforming the ground-plane with periodic open end-slits. The fabricated antenna has a small size of 21.5 × 21 mm2, and the bifurcated antenna has a size of 10.75 × 21 mm2. The bifurcated antenna is substantially reduced in size by 50%. Both antennas operate over the frequency band between 2.7 and 11 GHz for VSWR < 2, whereas showing the band-rejection performance in the frequency band of 5.1–5.9 GHz. A novel key-shaped CPW-fed monopole UWB antenna is proposed in this article. A high frequency structure simulator is used to analyze the proposed antenna in the design process. In this article, a novel CPW-fed band-notched UWB antenna is proposed. The prototype consists of planar multilateral disc monopole and ground plane. By inserting a symmetry rhombus-shaped thin slot on the radiation element and square slots on the ground, the narrow frequency band notch has been created to cover the desired frequency varying from 3.4 to 3.69 GHz and the required UWB bandwidth is also acquainted. A novel compact 5.2 GHz notched ultra-wideband (UWB) CPW-fed monopole antenna using dual reverse split trapezoid slots which has small area of (16 × 17 mm2) is proposed. The designed antenna operates over 3–11 GHz for VSWR ≤ 2 including the WLAN band notched at the vicinity of 5.2 GHz. The dual reverse split trapezoid slots are employed effectively for notching unwanted frequency band such as that for WLAN service, since it can be implemented with a small dimension and in a high Q operation similarly to the conventional strip-type dual reverse split ring resonator (SRR). Based on the simulated and measured results, a band notched UWB antenna using dual reverse split trapezoid slots is very effective in rejecting unwanted frequency in terms of its selectivity. A dual band-notched monopole antenna with an annular coplanar waveguides feeding structure for ultra-wideband (UWB) application is proposed, in which the ring in the feeding structure is used to increase the impedance bandwidth, and two quarter-wavelength tuning stubs inserted into the proposed feeding ring and radiating ring, respectively, creates two band-notches at 5.15 and 5.75 GHz across the UWB frequency band from 2.6 to 12 GHz. A CPW-fed monopole ultra wide band (UWB) antenna, which has small dimension of (15.5 × 17 mm2), is proposed. To miniaturize the antenna size, the sunken ground plane and narrow feeding-strip are introduced. A slot notched on the center of radiator is used to fine-tune the impedance matching at high frequency part. The optimal dimensions can be achieved by a parametric analysis. This paper presents a 4 × 4 multi-input multi-output antenna array for ultra-wideband applications. The single element of the array is comprised of a modified co-planar waveguide-fed double overt-leaf shaped patch radiator. The co-planar ground is optimized to achieve maximum impedance matching in the operating frequency band. The results show that the single antenna element offers an impedance bandwidth of 13.2 GHz starting from 3.2 GHz to 16.7 GHz. It is also observed from the results that the antenna offers good radiation characteristics and acceptable gain for the frequency band of interest. Furthermore, a 4 × 4 MIMO array is designed by utilizing the polarization diversity technique. To improve the isolation performance among antenna elements, a fan-shaped decoupler is introduced on the other side of the substrate, which ensures minimum isolation of 20 dB. Moreover, the proposed MIMO array operates in the frequency range of 2.75–16.05 GHz. A novel ultra-wideband (UWB) design of a single-layer coplanar waveguide-fed planar monopole antenna with dual band-notched characteristic is presented. By inserting two opened rectangular loop slots to the ground-notched trapezoidal patch and adjusting the dimensions of the slots, the proposed antenna, which includes two notched ground planes only 24 mm in width and 31 mm in height, can reach a frequency band-width, defined by voltage standing wave ratio <2, of 9.4 GHz (from 3 to 12.4 GHz), covering the entire UWB band (3.1–10.6 GHz), and have two frequency notch from 3.55–4.57 GHz and 5.55–6.87 GHz. Good monopole-like radiation patterns except in the notched frequency band have also been obtained. A novel small size coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed monopole antenna with wide bandwidth and small group delay variation is proposed for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications. It consists of a triangular patch with a pair of wide stubs on the lower sides thereof and linearly tapered coplanar ground planes. The measured return loss of the fabricated antenna is better than -10 dB from 2.9 to 13.2 GHz. In this article, the design and analysis of a CPW-fed UWB antenna with dual band-notched characteristics are presented. A novel compact ultra-wideband antenna with band-notched function is proposed and implemented. The radiating patch consists of a binomial function edge and is fed by coplanar waveguide. The size of the UWB antenna is minimized to 30 × 27.4 mm2. A new type of π-shaped slot is embedded to obtain the band-notched characteristic in the 5 GHz WLAN band. The center frequency of the notched band can be varied from 5.2 to 5.8 GHz by properly selecting the parameter values. A coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed ultra-wideband staircase monopole antenna with a frequency-notch characteristic is presented. The proposed antenna consists of a planar four-step staircase rectangular monopole with a ground short-circuited stub, open stubs at the ground part, and two-step impedance transformer at the CPW-fed line. The impedance bandwidth is increased due to an offset feeding technique and one-side ground notch. The notched frequency band can be accomplished by means of the method that involves adding open stubs at the ground. A miniaturized frequency reconfigurable CPW-fed antenna operating in the UWB, ISM, WiMAX, WLAN, Wi-Fi, C-band and 5G sub-6 GHz frequency bands is proposed here. The wideband CPW-fed triangular patch is made tunable to three triple-frequency bands on demand by connecting it to different serpentine stubs by using PIN diodes. The combination of triangular patch and serpentines introduced overall 8 number of operating bands (2.45, 3.05, 3.3, 4.1, 4.6, 5, 6 and 6.2 GHz) instead of a wideband (3.78–7.08 GHz) generated by triangular patch. The simulation results of the antenna are in good agreement with the measured results. The phenomena of miniaturization and multiband operation along with a wideband are compared with state-of-the-art antennas presented in the literature to highlight the significance and novelty of the proposed antenna. A novel coplanar waveguide fed UWB antenna with quad notch band characteristics has been proposed in this work. The antenna layout is designed based on a combination of well‐known geometrical shapes: a half ellipse patch, rectangle, and triangle. The shape of the ground plane is partially tapered rectangular. The overall dimension of the antenna is 41.5 × 32 mm. The antenna uses three U‐shaped slots at the top surface to create three notched band characteristics. A split‐ring resonator is then introduced at the bottom surface of the antenna. With the integration of split‐ring resonator at the bottom surface, an additional notch band at 7.25 to 7.75 (6.7%) GHz is created in the antenna. The designed antenna has an operating impedance bandwidth (VSWR ≤2) ranges from 3.03 to 12.34 GHz except in quad frequency stop bands of 3.3 to 3.7 (11.4%), 5.15 to 5.35 (3.8%), 5.725 to 5.825 (1.7%), and 7.25 to 7.75 (6.7%) GHz. The proposed antennas are successfully designed, prototyped, and measured. The simulated and measured results are extensively studied and discussed. Correlation between the time‐domain transmitting antenna input signal and the received antenna output signal is calculated in order to ensure that the proposed antenna can be used in pulse‐communication systems.
