The present numerical analysis focusses on the impact of tube wall temperature and mass flux in a smooth tube during condensation of R134a. The inner and outer diameter of smooth tube was considered as 8.38mm and 9.54mm, and the length of the tube was considered as 500mm. The numerical simulations were performed at a saturation temperature of 40℃, dryness fraction of 0.5, mass flux varies between 25 and 125 kg/m2s, and wall temperatures of 308K and 310K, respectively. The VOF model and ANSYS FLUENT software was utilized to solve the mathematical equations. The variation of volume fractions, vapor velocities, and wall shear stresses were discussed at all mass fluxes. And the heat transfer rate was increased, and the total pressure drop was decreased by increasing the tube wall temperature from 308K to 310K during condensation of R134a in a plain tube.
