Numerous psychological interventions are available for suicidal and death ideation (SDI) and suicidal behavior among cancer patients. To identify the optimal psychological interventions for reducing SDI and suicidal behavior in cancer patients. However, it remains unclear which psychological intervention is the most effective. We performed a pairwise and network meta-analysis by searching seven databases from the date of inception until 8 April 2022. An important focus of this network meta-analysis was the comparison of the effects of various psychological interventions on the reduction of SDI and suicidal behavior among cancer patients. For determining efficacy, we used standardized mean differences (SMDs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Besides, a pairwise meta-analysis, inconsistency test, network meta-analysis, the surface under the cumulative rankings curve (SUCRA), comparison-adjusted funnel plot, subgroup analysis, and sensitivity analysis were also carried out. A total of 8 studies involving 1,350 patients were searched in this study. It showed that empathy therapy (SUCRA = 95.3%) has the best effect among the six interventions. Comprehensive psychological intervention (SUCRA = 77.6%) was ranked in the top two positions, followed by meaning-centered therapy (SUCRA = 40.7%). Comparison-adjusted funnel plots revealed no significant publication bias. In addition, our conclusions have not changed significantly after the sensitivity analysis. In this network meta-analysis, empathy therapy was identified as the optimal choice for reducing SDI and suicidal behaviors in cancer patients. Non‐pharmacological interventions can improve the behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD). However, the optimal non‐pharmacological treatments remain controversial. This study aimed to compare the efficacy of multiple non‐pharmacological methods and identify the optimal therapy for BPSD. Potential randomised controlled trials (RCTs) were searched and selected from 15 databases and sources from the inception of the databases until 1 October 2022. Two independent authors implemented study screening, data extraction, and methodological quality assessment. Primary outcome was reduction of Neuropsychiatric Inventory (NPI). The secondary outcome were changes of Cornell Scale for Depression in Dementia (CSDD), the Cohen‐Mansfield Agitation Inventory (CMAI), the Quality of Life in Alzheimer's Disease (QoL‐AD), the Abilities of Daily Living scale, and the Apathy Evaluation Scale. Meta‐analyses were performed using STATA v15.0 and ADDIS v1.16.8. The GRADE approaches were utilised to evaluate evidence quality. The present study included 43 RCTs with 4978 participants. The global methodological quality of the RCTs was moderate. Regarding NPI reduction, with moderate‐certainty evidence, exercise plus treatment as usual (TAU) outperformed TAU (mean difference [MD]: −7.13; 95% confidence interval [CI]: −13.22, −0.76) and ranked as the optimal treatment. For reduction in CSDD, with low‐ to moderate‐certainty evidence, massage plus TAU (MD: −15.26; 95% CI: −20.13, −10.52) and music plus TAU (MD: −2.40; 95% CI: −4.62, −0.12) were associated with greater reduction compared with TAU. For reduction in CMAI, with moderate‐certainty evidence, aromatherapy plus massage (MD: −15.84; 95% CI: −29.76, −2.42) and massage plus music (MD: −13.12; 95% CI: −25.43, −0.76) were significantly more effective than TAU. For improvement in QoL‐AD, with critically low‐ to low‐certainty evidence, there were no statistical differences between any of non‐pharmacological treatments and TAU. Due to the limited number of included studies, network meta‐analysis was not performed for other outcomes. In conclusion, non‐pharmacological treatments are effective for overall symptoms, depression, and agitation. Background: To demonstrate bioequivalence between two drug formulations, a pilot trial is often conducted prior to a pivotal trial to assess feasibility and gain preliminary information about the treatment effect. Due to the limited sample size, it is not recommended to perform significance tests at the conventional 5% level using pilot data to determine if a pivotal trial should take place. Whilst some authors suggest to relax the significance level, a Bayesian framework provides an alternative for informing the decision-making. Moreover, a Bayesian approach also readily permits possible incorporation of pilot data in priors for the parameters that underpin the pivotal trial. Methods: We consider two-sequence, two-period crossover designs that compare test (T) and reference (R) treatments. We propose a robust Bayesian hierarchical model, embedded with a scaling factor, to elicit a Go/No-Go decision using predictive probabilities. Following a Go decision, the final analysis to formally establish bioequivalence can leverage both the pilot and pivotal trial data jointly. A simulation study is performed to evaluate trial operating characteristics. Results: Compared with conventional procedures, our proposed method improves the decision-making to correctly allocate a Go decision in scenarios of bioequivalence. By choosing an appropriate threshold, the probability of correctly (incorrectly) making a No-Go (Go) decision can be ensured at a desired target level. Using both pilot and pivotal trial data in the final analysis can result in a higher chance of declaring bioequivalence. The false positive rate can be maintained in situations when T and R are not bioequivalent. Conclusions: The proposed methodology is novel and effective in different stages of bioequivalence assessment. Introduction: The aim of the study was to evaluate the perioperative risks and outcomes of ultra-radical surgery in patients with extensive metastatic ovarian growing teratoma syndrome (GTS). Methods: We conducted a retrospective study of patients with extensive metastatic ovarian GTS treated in our hospital between 2000 and 2022. Patients' clinical characteristics, surgical treatment, and outcomes were evaluated. Results: Overall, 13 patients were identified, and the median age at diagnosis of ovarian immature teratoma (IT) was 24 years (range: 5–37). The median interval between IT diagnosis and presenting GTS was 8 months (range: 2–60), with a median surgery delay of 5 months (range: 3–300). Peritoneum and liver were the most commonly affected sites (100%), followed by bowel (12 patients, 92.3%), diaphragm (12 patients, 92.3%), adnexa (9 patients, 69.2%), omentum (8 patients, 61.5%), uterus (7 patients, 53.8%), in the descending order. The mean operation time was 316 min (range: 180–625), and the mean blood loss volume was 992 mL (range: 200–5,000). Peritoneal metastasectomy (13 patients, 100%), diaphragmatic metastasectomy (12 patients, 92.3%), metastasis removal from the bowel (8 patients, 61.5%), partial hepatectomy (4 patients, 30.8%), bowel excision and anastomosis (1 patient, 7.7%) were also applied to achieve optimal debulking. R0 was achieved in 9 (69.2%) patients. A high rate of intraoperative blood transfusion (8 patients, 61.5%) and admission to the intensive care unit (9 patients, 69.2%) were observed, and the median postoperative hospitalization time was 8 days (range: 4–22). After a median follow-up of 3.3 years, 9 patients were free of disease, and 4 were alive with stable residual diseases. Conclusion: The survival outcomes in extensive metastatic ovarian GTS were satisfactory after ultra-radical surgery, while a proper therapeutic plan should be established due to the high perioperative risks. Benign struma ovarii (SO) with synchronous ascites and elevated CA125 level is extremely rare that the incidence, clinical characteristics, and risk factors remain unclear. We conducted a retrospective study of patients with SO treated in our hospital between 1980 and 2022. Logistic regression was used to identify potential risk factors for SO patients presenting with ascites and elevated CA125 levels. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to evaluate the predictive performance of the identified risk factors. A total of 21 patients with synchronous ascites and elevated CA125 levels were identified in 229 patients with SO, the crude incidence rate was 9.17%, and four patients (1.75%) had pseudo-Meigs' syndrome. Ascites were completely involuted within 1 month postoperatively and the serum CA125 level decreased to normal between 3 d and 6 weeks after surgery. Multivariate logistic regression showed that age ≥49 years (OR 3.71, 95% CI 1.29 − 10.64, p = 0.015), tumor size ≥10.0 cm (OR 8.79, 95% CI 3.05 − 25.35, p < 0.001), and proliferative SO (OR 11.16, 95% CI 3.01 − 41.47, p < 0.001) were the independent risk factors for patients presenting ascites and elevated CA 125 level. The ROC curve revealed that the predictive performance for age and tumor size was unsatisfactory with an area under the curve (AUC) was 0.646 and 0.682, respectively. Linear regression demonstrated that the serum CA125 level has a moderate positive correlation with the volume of ascites (log2CA125 = 0.6272*log2ascites + 2.099, p = 0.0001, R2 = 0.5576). Less than one-tenth of patients with SO would present ascites and elevated CA125 levels, while age ≥49 years, tumor sizes ≥10 cm, and the presence of proliferative SO were the risk factors. Background: The analgesic effect of acupuncture is widely recognized, but the mechanical characteristics of acupuncture for pain relief, compared to non‐steroidal anti‐inflammatory (NSAIDs) and placebo medication, remain unknown. Aims: To compare the modulation effects of acupuncture treatment with NSAIDs and placebo medication on descending pain modulation system (DPMS) in knee osteoarthritis (KOA) patients. Methods: This study recruited 180 KOA patients with knee pain and 41 healthy controls (HCs). Individuals with KOA knee pain were divided randomly into groups of verum acupuncture (VA), sham acupuncture (SA), celecoxib (SC), placebo (PB), and waiting list (WT), with 36 patients in each group. VA and SA groups included ten sessions of puncturing acupoints or puncturing non‐acupoints acupuncture treatment for two successive weeks. Celecoxib capsules were continuously given orally to patients in the SC group at a dosage of 200 mg daily for 2 weeks. In the PB group, patients received a placebo capsule once a day for 2 weeks at the same dosage as celecoxib capsules. In the WL group, patients did not receive any treatment. Patients underwent a resting‐state BOLD‐fMRI scan pre‐ and post‐receiving the therapy, whereas HCs only underwent a baseline scan. Seed (ventrolateral periaqueductal gray, vlPAG, a key node in DPMS) based resting‐state functional connectivity (rs‐FC) was applied in the data analysis. Results: All groups demonstrated improved knee pain scores relative to the initial state. There was no statistical difference between the VA and SA groups in all clinical outcomes, and vlPAG rs‐FC alterations. KOA knee pain individuals reported higher vlPAG rs‐FC in the bilateral thalamus than HCs. KOA knee pain patients in the acupuncture group (verum + sham, AG) exhibited increased vlPAG rs‐FC with the right dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) and the right angular, which is associated with knee pain improvement. In contrast with the SC and PB group, the AG exhibited significantly increased vlPAG rs‐FC with the right DLPFC and angular. Contrary to the WT group, the AG showed greater vlPAG rs‐FC with the right DLPFC and precuneus. Conclusions: Acupuncture treatment, celecoxib, and placebo medication have different modulation effects on vlPAG DPMS in KOA knee pain patients. Acupuncture could modulate vlPAG rs‐FC with brain regions associated with cognitive control, attention, and reappraisal for knee pain relief in KOA patients, compared with celecoxib and placebo medication. Background: Locoregional recurrence after nephrectomy for localized renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is rare with diverse manifestations. The selection criteria and efficacy of different treatments are unanswered. The objective was to compare different treatment modalities and present data on stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) for recurrent RCC. Materials and Methods: Patients with locoregional recurrence after nephrectomy without distant metastasis were identified from institutional big data intelligence platform between 2001 and 2020. Patients receiving local therapy (surgery or SBRT) or systemic therapy alone (targeted therapy or PD‐1 inhibitors) were divided into two groups. Progression‐free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) were analyzed using Kaplan–Meier method, Cox regression model. Patients were matched with propensity score matching. Results: Among 106 patients, 33 (31.1%) received systemic therapy alone and 73 (68.9%) received local therapy. Local therapy was surgery in 34 patients (32.1%) and SBRT in 39 (36.8%) patients. Patients treated with systemic therapy alone had more non‐clear cell type (p = 0.044), more advanced T stage (p = 0.006), higher number (p = 0.043) but smaller size of lesions (p = 0.042). Patients receiving local therapy had significantly longer PFS than systemic therapy (19.7 vs. 7.5 months, p = 0.001). After matching, the PFS in the local therapy group remained higher (23.9 vs. 7.5 months, p = 0.001). The 2‐year OS of the local therapy group and systemic therapy group was 91.6% and 71.8%, respectively (p = 0.084). Local therapy was associated with better PFS (HR 0.37; p = 0.0003) and OS (HR 0.23; p = 0.002) in multivariate analysis. Grade 2 or higher toxicities related to local therapy occurred in nine patients. Conclusions: Local therapy could delay disease progression compared with systemic therapy alone. Background: Staphylococcal Scalded Skin Syndrome (SSSS) is caused by a special type of Staphylococcus aureus (S.aureus) which can produce exfoliative toxins. The generalized SSSS is recommended to be admitted and treated with intravenous antibiotics. However, there were limited reports on whether personal and clinical factors can have impacts on the duration of intravenous antibiotic application for pediatric patients with generalized SSSS. We performed a study to assess the factors affecting intravenous antibiotic treatment course of SSSS patients. Additionally, the positive culture rates of S.aureus in different samples and the antibiotic-resistant profile were investigated. Methods: Two hundred nineteen patients with generalized SSSS were included. Gender, age, area, season, maximum axillary temperature, white blood cell (WBC) count, C-reactive protein (CRP) level, types of intravenous antibiotics, and types of external antibiotics were recorded as the baseline. Simple linear regression was applied in the univariate analysis to determine the variables with statistical significance and then these variables were further examined in multivariate linear regression model. The positive culture rates of S.aureus in different sample sources were calculated and the drug sensitivity results were statistically compared by pairwise Chi square test. Results: According to the multiple linear regression, older ages (β = − 0.01, p < 0.05) and external application of fusidic acid (β = − 1.57, p < 0.05) were associated with shorter treatment course, elevated leukocytes (β = 0.11, p < 0.001) and CRP level (β = 1.64, p < 0.01) were associated with longer treatment course. The positive culture rates of periorificial swabs, throat swabs, and blood samples were 54.55, 30.77, and 5.97% respectively. The resistant rates of levofloxacin (8.33%), gentamycin (8.33%), tetracycline (25%), oxacillin (8.33%), vancomycin (0%) were significantly lower than the ones of erythromycin (100%), trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (TMP/SMX) (83.33%), clindamycin (91.67%), penicillin G(100%) (p < 0.001). Conclusion: Elevated leukocytes and CRP level indicated prolonged intravenous antibiotic treatment course. Older ages and external application of fusidic acid helped to reduce the treatment course. Compared with blood samples, the culture positive rates of S.aureus in periorificial and throat swabs were higher. Oxacillin and vancomycin resistance was rare and clindamycin resistance was common. Aim: To evaluate whether high‐intensity interval training (HIIT) was superior to low‐intensity training or usual care among patients after percutaneous coronary intervention. The hypothesis was that HIIT would help patients after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) improve cardiopulmonary function, lipid profiles and in‐stent restenosis. Design: A systematic review and meta‐analysis were conducted according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta‐analysis (PRISMA)2009 Checklist. Methods: Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) focusing on HIIT programme in patients after PCI were searched in Cochrane Library, Web of Science Core Collection, EMbase, PubMed, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and SinoMed from the inception to 24 March 2020. Standard Mean difference (SMD) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were performed to summarize the effect sizes. Results: Six RCTs (247 patients) met the criteria. HIIT programme had a statistically significant effect on raising left ventricular ejection function (LVEF) (SMD = 0.38, 95%CI [0.03, 0.73], I2 = 3%), VO2peak (SMD = 0.94, 95%CI [0.61, 1.28], I2 = 0%), as well as improving the serum level of high‐density lipoprotein (SMD = 0.55, 95%CI [0.06, 1.03], I2 = 0%) and late luminal loss (SMD = −0.65, 95%CI [−1.07, −0.23], I2 = 0%). But HIIT had no prominent effect on improving heart rate (SMD = −0.04, 95%CI [−0.29, 0.21], I2 = 0%). Summarily, HIIT programme appears to be favourable for CAD patients after PCI by improving cardiopulmonary function, such as LVEF and VO2peak, as well as reducing late luminal loss in per stented arteries. Objective. The randomized controlled clinical trial aims to investigate the clinical efficacy of moxibustion for breast cancer patients with chemotherapy-induced myelosuppression (CIM) during adjuvant chemotherapy. Methods. Surgically resected breast cancer patients were randomly divided into the moxibustion group (MOX; n = 48) and control group (CON; n = 44). Routine adjuvant chemotherapy (every 21 days, 4–8 cycles) and supportive recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor were given to both groups, while MOX received an additional moxibustion treatment (once daily after each cycle of chemotherapy). Primary endpoints included the grade of myelosuppression in terms of white blood cell (WBC) and absolute neutrophil count (ANC) and the incidence of myelosuppression-related serious adverse events (SAEs). Other measures included treatment compliance, adverse events (AEs), and survival. Results. WBC counts were generally higher in MOX and were dramatically higher than those in CON at the 7th course of chemotherapy (P = 0.008), while grade 1 ANC reduction was dramatically lower than that in CON at the 7thcourse of chemotherapy (P = 0.006). These effects were particularly significant in patients receiving anthracycline-taxane combination regimens. Moreover, MOX had fewer febrile neutropenia than CON (P = 0.051). MOX demonstrated a lower incidence of grade 3–4 myelosuppression (P < 0.05). AEs including grade 2–3 severe nausea, various kinds of pains, and vertigo occurred less frequently in MOX (P < 0.05). No difference in survival was observed between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion. Moxibustion is effective for treating CIM in breast cancer patients during adjuvant chemotherapy, especially for patients receiving high-dose, long-term, and combined chemotherapy regimens. The role of MRD-directed risk stratification strategy for core binding factor acute myeloid leukemia (CBF-AML) patients with favorable risk genetics is still unknown. We retrospectively analyzed the clinical outcomes of 148 pure CBF-AML patients with first complete remission including MRD positive (n = 69) and MRD negative (n = 79) after two courses of consolidation from January 2009 to December 2018 in our center. We found that MRD positive after 2 courses of consolidation significantly influenced OS (5-year: 59%), PFS (5-year: 36%) and CIR (5-year: 58%) in favorable-risk CBF-AML patients with CR1. It was worth noting that the MRD status after two courses of consolidation might be the best timing for treatment choice and allo-HSCT was a promising treatment for favorable-risk CBF-AML patients with MRD positive after the second consolidation. Background. Many trials have reported that bloodletting therapy is effective when treating chronic urticaria. There are currently no systematic reviews of bloodletting therapy for chronic urticaria. Objective. The aim of this review is to assess the effectiveness and safety of bloodletting therapy for chronic urticaria. Methods. A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials were performed. Disease activity control was assessed as the primary outcome. Response rate, recurrence rate, and adverse events were assessed as secondary outcomes. Results. Seven studies with 512 participants were included. One trial showed a significant difference between bloodletting therapy plus medicine and medicine alone in disease activity control (MD 0.67; 95% CI 0.03 to 1.31; p=0.04). Six trials (372 participants) showed a significant difference between bloodletting therapy and pharmacological medication in response rate (RR 1.10; 95% CI 0.97-1.26; P =0.15). Two studies (170 participants) showed a significant difference between bloodletting therapy plus pharmacological medication and pharmacological medication in response rate (RR 1.34; 95% CI 1.10-1.63; p=0.003). Two studies (126 participants) reported a statistically significant difference between bloodletting therapy and pharmacological medication in recurrence rate. No serious adverse events related to bloodletting therapy were reported. Conclusions. Bloodletting therapy might be an effective and safe treatment for chronic urticaria, but the evidence is scarce. Background: Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has a long history of use in breast cancer, but lacking systematic evidence to support its clinical benefits. In this study, we evaluated the prophylactic and therapeutic effects of moxibustion combined with decoctions for treating chemotherapy-induced myelosuppression (CIM) in early-stage breast cancer patients.Methods: This is a randomized controlled clinical trial single-blinded for TCM decoction but not moxibustion. Patients are equally divided into the control group without decoction and moxibustion treatment (control), the decoction+moxibustion group (MD), and the placebo+moxibustion group (MP), according to the following stratification factors: age (below 40s, 40s, 50s, and 60s or above), chemotherapy regimen (anthracyclines, taxanes, anthracyclines+taxane, and others), and chemotherapy strategy (adjuvant and neoadjuvant). The TCM decoction is Wenshen Shengbai Decoction. The anticipated sample size is 462 cases (154 cases in each group). All participants are expected to treat with chemotherapy and recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (rhG-CSF). The primary outcomes include the proportion of patients with relief of leukopenia and/or neutropenia, the myelosuppression-associated serious adverse event including grade 3-4 leukopenia and/or neutropenia, and febrile neutropenia, and the dose of rhG-CSF. The secondary outcomes include chemotherapy adherence, stratified analysis, adverse reactions, quality of life by EORTC Breast-Cancer-Specific Quality of Life Questionnaire including EORTC QLQ-C30 (V3.0) and QLQ-BR23, TCM Constitution, and 3-year disease-free survival and overall survival. Baseline information including age, surgical approach, chemotherapy regimen and strategy, pathological stage, and molecular subtype will be recorded.Discussion: This will be the first randomized controlled trial to evaluate the efficacy of moxibustion combined with TCM decoction in treating CIM in early-stage breast cancer patients, aiming to standardize the TCM decoction and moxibustion method, thus providing evidence for its clinical benefit.Trial Registration: chictr.org.cn ChiCTR-INR-16009557 . Sanhuang ointment (SHO) has been widely used in the traditional Chinese medical system for 1500 years and has efficacy in clearing away heat and dampness, reducing swelling, and alleviating pain. Hemorrhoids will damage the normal physiological function of the body, resulting in obstructed defecation, accompanied by massive hemorrhage and necrosis of tissues and cells, which is easy to breed bacteria and cause infection. SHO can promote lesion healing in hemorrhoid rats, but the pharmacological mechanism underlying this effect remains unknown. To evaluate the effect of SHO on experimental hemorrhoids in rats induced by croton oil and glacial acetic acid. In this research, the effective components of SHO were analyzed in detail by High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and Liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/MS). Hemorrhoids were induced by 6% balsam and glacial acetic acid respectively in the anorectal region of rats. SHO was administered externally to the anorectal region of rats at doses of 185 mg/g (crude drug/ointment), 370 mg/g (crude drug/ointment) and 740 mg/g (crude drug/ointment) for 11 days. Mayinglong musk hemorrhoids ointment (1 g/kg) and Taining cream (1 g/kg) were used as reference anti hemorrhoids drugs. On the 11th day, hemorrhoids were evaluated by measuring the biochemical parameters of hemorrhoids in rats and the histology of anorectal tissues. Using high performance liquid chromatography liquid chromatography mass spectrometry, 41 compounds, including phenylpropionic acids and alkaloids, were identified. the fingerprints of 18 common peaks were identified. In Hemorrhoids like rats, acetic acid induced inflammation was inhibited in a dose-dependent manner during SHO treatment. In addition, the detailed experimental results show that SHO can effectively improve hemorrhoids by inhibiting the production of inflammatory cytokines in serum, reversing the down-regulation of vanillin subtype 1 (TRPV1), calcitonin gene related peptide (CGRP) and substance P (SP) levels of pain related genes in anal tissues, and the up regulation of Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) levels of vascular growth related genes. Given that the modification of stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) can enhance their regenerative efficiency, an increasing number of studies pay attention to the therapeutic potential of hypoxic preconditioning of stem cell-derived EVs (Hypo-EVs) in cardiac repair. Our meta-analysis aims to evaluate the cardiac repair of Hypo-EVs in preclinical animal models of myocardial infarction (MI). We searched PubMed, EMBASE, and the Web of Science up to January 2021. The primary outcome was left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF). The second outcomes were left ventricular fractional shortening (LVFS) and infarct size. Random-effects modeling was used to calculate pooled weighted mean differences (WMDs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Nine studies satisfied the inclusion criteria. Compared with the model group, pooled analyses demonstrated that stem cell-derived EVs culturing in normal oxygen environment (Nor-EVs) can improve LVEF (WMD: 9.07, 95% CI: 6.76 to 11.38, I2 = 80.7%), LVFS (WMD: 3.03, 95% CI: 0.79 to 5.27, I2 = 86.3%), and reduce infarct size (WMD: −12.15, 95% CI: −19.12 to −5.18, I2 = 96.8%). Compared with Nor-EVs, Hypo-EVs can improve LVEF (WMD: 5.11, 95% CI: 1.63 to 8.60, I2 = 95%), LVFS (WMD: 6.54, 95% CI: 4.08 to 8.99, I2 = 90.6%), and reduce infarct size (WMD: −7.42, 95% CI: −12.97 to −1.87, I2 = 97.2%). These results suggest that Hypo-EVs could show more improvement than Nor-EVs therapy on cardiac repair in the preclinical MI animal model. However, future well-designed large animal studies might be necessary to clarify the methods and effects of Hypo-EVs therapy to help provide new ideas for future engineered EVs design. Emodin is the main pharmacodynamic components of rhubarb, with significant pharmacological effects and clinical efficacy.Emodin has a variety of therapy effects, such as anti-cancer, anti-fibrosis effects, and is widely used to treat encephalitis, diabetic cataract and organ fibrosis. Several studies have shown that emodin has a good treatment effect on organ fibrosis, but the mechanism is complex. Moreover, the evidence of some studies is conflicting and confusing. This paper reviewed the mechanism, pharmacokinetics and toxicology of emodin in fibrosis treatment, and briefly discussed relevant cutting-edge new formulations to improve the efficacy, the result can provide some reference for future study.
