Abstract

The article presents the results of a study on the effect of Acinetobacter infections on mortality and medical outcomes of trauma patients who were admitted to intensive care units. According to the authors, complications associated with Acinetobacter infections include multidrug-resistant strains, hospital-acquired pneumonia, bloodstream infection, and urinary tract infections. They add that Acinobacter infection was linked with a longer intensive care unit stay and a higher rate of organ failure.
