- Abstract
The principle of auxiliary liver transplantation is the implantation of a right or left hemiliver into the abdominal cavity to restore normal liver function temporarily, while the native liver recuperates. Once the native liver has recovered, the graft can be removed or left in place without immunosuppression leading to atrophy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
