Luke posebne namjene su u pravilu morske luke u posebnoj uporabi ili gospodarskom korištenju pravnih ili fizičkih osoba za, primjerice, nautički turizam. Marine su dio vodenoga prostora i dio obale posebno izgrađen i uređen za pružanje usluga veza i smještaja plovnih objekata, a osim pružanja usluga, služe i za pružanje trgovinskih i ugostiteljskih usluga. U ovom radu definirani su tehnički procesi luke nautičkog turizma, odabir lokacije, planiranje i projektiranje te izgradnja. Cilj rada je prikaz osnovnih postupaka prilikom selekcije lokacije vodeći računa o lokacijskim, ekološkim i nautičkim uvjetima pravilnog pozicioniranja luke nautičkog turizma zajedno s konceptualnim prostornim planiranjem izgradnje. Uz navedeno, prikazuju se etape projektiranja uz determiniranje sadržaja i opreme tipične marine, unutrašnjih i vanjskih lučkih objekata s naglaskom na projektiranje lukobrana, rasporeda dokova te karakterističnih veličina marine. Special purpose ports are, as a rule, seaports for special use or economic use of legal or natural persons for, for example, nautical tourism. Marinas are part of the water area and part of the coast specially built and arranged for the provision of berth services and accommodation of vessels, and additionally to providing services, they also serve for the provision of trade and catering services. This paper defines the technical processes of a nautical tourism port, site selection, planning and design, and construction. The aim of this paper is to present the basic procedures for site selection taking into account the location, ecological and nautical conditions of proper positioning of the nautical tourism port together with the conceptual spatial planning of construction. In addition to the above, the design stages are presented focusing on the content and equipment of a typical marina, internal and external port facilities with emphasis on the design of breakwaters, dock layouts and characteristic sizes of the marina.

Nautical tourist routes and ports of nautical tourism referred to as points of transits for sports and leisure crafts form a unique system within the nautical tourist offers are defined. Nautical traffic functions according to specific regularities that have to be continuously studied and analysed in order to eliminate bottlenecks that represent the main obstacles for offering high quality services. Therefore, the purpose and aim of this research has been the approximation of nautical tourist routes for ports of nautical tourism within the Istarska and Primorsko-goranska County in the Republic of Croatia by applying the Markov chain method. Taking into consideration specific regularities in the formation of nautical tourist routes within the ports of nautical tourism, fourteen state systems have been analysed, two of which relate to those nautical tourist routes that pass across Italy and Slovenia when crafts have to enter or leave the ports. The results of this research have revealed bottlenecks areas within nautical tourism ports and their related routes that have been formed within the Istarska and Primorsko-goranska County.

This articles look at the spatial, economic and environmental changes that nautical tourism has brought about in the County of Istria. Fourteen ports of nautical tourism with a total of 4, 541 berths (3, 351 in the sea and 990 on land) were built in the County by 2008. An analysis of the spatial distribution of nautical facilities leads to the conclusion that all nautical tourism ports are located on the western coast of Istria, which possesses less favourable berthing conditions than the eastern coast. It has been established that an important criterion in determining sites for nautical tourism ports on the western coast was the existing tourism superstructure, as well as the possibility of creating a tourism product based on a tourism attraction basis that is multi-layered and more complex. This geographically uneven distribution of fast-growing ports of nautical tourism has further polarised tourism traffic and impacted on the accelerated economic development of Pula, Rovinj and Poreč. Ports of nautical tourism have become the most highly concentrated form of development on the western coast, and they tend to exert a strong influence in modifying their environment. Given these spatial and developmental circumstances, it is difficult to control sustainable development, a fact that the case studies have confirmed.
