Torus, which refers to the toroidal arrangement of its stator core and winding, is a popular axial flux, permanent magnet generator (AFPMG) due to its ease of construction, high efficiency, and small size. As a result, Torus can be used as an alternative axial flux machine in many electric appliances to the conventional axial flux machine. Torus does appear to be a promising approach for wind power applications in Vietnam, so more research into its characteristics is required. The Torus generator was designed with slotted winding to maximize the use of available magnetic materials while lowering the cost of wind generators in Vietnam. The air gap is reduced by the slotted winding Torus generator, which increases the magnetic flux density. Four ferrite, rare earth-based magnet Torus generator models had been created. Torus is the new type of generator. The contribution of this paper is the analytical calculation for permanent magnet toroidal generators and the design formulas for this type of generator.
