The application of SETS (Science, Technology, Environment, and Society) approach through the Biophysics course has been proven as an effective solution to develop new literacy among students of Natural Sciences Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. The application of this approach can solve the students’ learning difficulties in connecting SETS elements within learning by providing integrated technology that is in line with basic competencies and learning indicators. The relational model of Integrated Audio Stimulator - Multi-Sensor - Pest Control (IASMUSPEC) engineering to optimize the growth and productivity of organic food plants directly involve students in practical science learning by applying technology to assist farmers. The method to produce SETS best practice model was the combination of Research & Development of spiral model referring to Cennamo and Kalk concept (2018) and Experimental Research for implementing IASMUSPEC to increase organic food plants productivity. A preliminary study of this research results in two aspects. They are the skills improvement aspect for both students and farmers in applying IASMUSPEC, and the increase of productivity aspect in organic rice plants into 209.81% (yield total for land samples of 8.3 x 29.8 meters) in the treatment plants was 237.3 kg, with and for control plants was 113.1 kg respectively. The effects of IASMUSPEC on plant growth rates were also examined. The output of this study was the subject-specific pedagogic (SSP) of Biophysics with SETS approach and IASMUSPEC appropriate technology.

One of the greatest challenges in science learning is how to integrate a wide range of basic scientific concepts of physics, chemistry, and biology into an integrated learning material. Research-based teaching material in this area is still very poor and does not much involve students of science education in its implementation as part of the learning program science technology and society (STS). The purpose of this study is to get the result of evaluation of the teaching and learning of STS in the form of public service in Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta. The program to improve crop productivity through the application of Audio Bio Harmonic System (ABHS) with solar energy have been selected for utilizing the natural animal sounds to open stomata of the leaves conducted during foliar fertilization, making it suitable for integrated science lessons. Component of evaluation model used is Stufflebeam model evaluation (CIPP). CIPP evaluation in these activities resulted in two aspects: The first aspect was improving the skills of students and farmers in using ABHS, and these two aspects, namely food crop productivity; (1) cayenne increased 76.4%, (2) increased red onions (56.3%) and (3) of maize increased by 67.8%. Besides, it was also the effect of the application of ABHS on the rate of plant growth. The outcome of this study is the STS teaching materials and appropriate technology of ABHS with solar energy.

Pengembangan soft skills bukanlah hal baru dalam bidang pendidikan, karena landasan untuk pengembangannya sudah sangat jelas, UU Nomor 20 Tahun 2003 Tentang Sistem Pendidikan Nasional, Bab I, Pasal 1 Ayat 1. Perlunya pengembangan soft skills di program kelas internasional terkait dengan permasalahan yang muncul di rintisan program kelas internasional yang sudah diselenggarakan di Jurusan Pendidikan Fisika FMIPA UNY. Dari kelas rintisan tersebut dapat teramati pada proses perkuliahan sering terlihat keraguan mahasiswa untuk terlibat aktif dalam perkuliahan. Selain karena kendala yang muncul akibat keterbatasan mahasiswa dalam menguasai percakapan bahasa Inggris, sehingga mereka memerlukan waktu lebih lama untuk menyimak isi perkuliahan, tapi juga yang tampak menonjol adalah pengaruh dari kurang berkembangnya soft skills mahasiswa.Rancangan eksperimen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Non Random Pre-tes Post-test Control Group. Dalam rancangan ini, pengambilan subyektidak dilakukan secara rambang. Rancangan ini dipilih karena selama eksperimentidak memungkinkan untuk mengubah kelas yang telah ada. Pra tes digunakan untukmenyetarakan pengetahuan awal kedua kelompok sedangkan post tes digunakan untukmengukur hasil belajar dan lembar observasi untuk mengetahui perkembangan soft skillsselama dan setelah proses belajar. Kegiatan belajar yang dilakukan dengan berbasis konteks, menyebabkan peserta didik aktif merumuskan pertanyaan, mencari sumber informasi dan mengumpulkan informasi dari sumber, mengolah informasi yang sudah dimiliki, merekonstruksi data/fakta/nilai, menyajikan hasil rekonstruksi/proses pengembangan nilai. Hal ini menumbuhkan soft skills pada diri mahasiswa melalui berbagai kegiatan belajar yang terjadi di kelas pembelajaran, lingkungan kampus, dan tugas-tugas di luar kampus. Pengembangan soft skills ini berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar mahasiswa baik secara proses maupun produk yang di ambil datanya melalui tes. Development of soft skills is not new in the field of education , as a foundation for the development has been very clear , the Law No. 20 Year 2003 on National Education System , Chapter I , Article 1, Paragraph 1 . Learning activities undertaken by the context -based , causing active students to formulate questions , seek resources and collect information from sources , process the information they have, reconstructing data / fact / value , presenting the results of the reconstruction / development process value . This growing soft skills in students through a variety of self- learning activities that occur in the classroom learning , campus environment , and tasks outside the campus . The development of soft skills significantly influence the improvement of student learning outcomes both process and product are taken through the test data

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) Mengembangkan pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis masalah (PBI) dalam pembelajaran sains di sekolah berbasis agama, (2) Mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada aplikasi sains sehingga dapat digunakan untuk mengatasi problem di masyarakat berupa penetapan awal bulan Hijriah, (3) Meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam bidang aplikasi dan pengembangan performance assesment untuk mengevaluasi kinerja siswa (4). Mendesain siklus pembelajaran sains dalam bentuk collaboration action research sehingga diperoleh strategi pembelajaran yang tepat melalui refleksi yang dilakukan setiap akhir suatu proses, dan (5). Mengembangkan kemitraan antara sekolah dan LPTK yang mampu mengembangkan  keilmuan baik secara praktis maupun teoritik.  Keberhasilan produk ditandai dengan telah dapat dilaksanakannya kegiatan praktek, laporan kegiatan praktek oleh guru, hasil tes kognitif dan  kinerja siswa. Korelasi yang tinggi 0,959 antara kinerja siswa dan tes kognitifnya merupakan salah satu indikator keberhasilan produk. The purpose of this study was: (1). Developing learning approach problem based (PBI) inside their science lessons at-based school religion, (2). Developing learning strategies oriented science applications that can be used to solve problems in the community in the form of the establishment early in Hijri, (3). Increasing the ability of teachers in the areas of application and development of performance assessment to evaluate student performance (4). Design a learning cycle of science in the form of action research collaboration in order to obtain appropriate learning strategies through reflection conducted each end of a process, and (5). Developing partnerships between the school and are able to develop scientific LPTK both practical and theoretical. The the success of product is marked with has been can implementation of activities of the practice, reports activities of practice by the teacher, test results cognitive and students’ performance. High correlation 0.959 between student performance and test cognitive is one indicator of the success of the product.
