The enhancement of fabric quality prediction in the textile manufacturing sector is achieved by utilizing information derived from sensors within the Internet of Things (IoT) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems linked to sensors embedded in textile machinery. The integration of Industry 4.0 concepts is instrumental in harnessing IoT sensor data, which, in turn, leads to improvements in productivity and reduced lead times in textile manufacturing processes. This study addresses the issue of imbalanced data pertaining to fabric quality within the textile manufacturing industry. It encompasses an evaluation of seven open-source automated machine learning (AutoML) technologies, namely FLAML (Fast Lightweight AutoML), AutoViML (Automatically Build Variant Interpretable ML models), EvalML (Evaluation Machine Learning), AutoGluon, H2OAutoML, PyCaret, and TPOT (Tree-based Pipeline Optimization Tool). The most suitable solutions are chosen for certain circumstances by employing an innovative approach that finds a compromise among computational efficiency and forecast accuracy. The results reveal that EvalML emerges as the top-performing AutoML model for a predetermined objective function, particularly excelling in terms of mean absolute error (MAE). On the other hand, even with longer inference periods, AutoGluon performs better than other methods in measures like mean absolute percentage error (MAPE), root mean squared error (RMSE), and r-squared. Additionally, the study explores the feature importance rankings provided by each AutoML model, shedding light on the attributes that significantly influence predictive outcomes. Notably, sin/cos encoding is found to be particularly effective in characterizing categorical variables with a large number of unique values. This study includes useful information about the application of AutoML in the textile industry and provides a roadmap for employing Industry 4.0 technologies to enhance fabric quality prediction. The research highlights the importance of striking a balance between predictive accuracy and computational efficiency, emphasizes the significance of feature importance for model interpretability, and lays the groundwork for future investigations in this field. The spinning equipment for processing recycled fibrous materials and their technology characteristics were summarized. The overview of waste textiles was briefly introduced. The related resuing technology of waste textiles were sorted out, including physical recycling method, chemical recycling method, thermal energy recycling method and mechanical opening method. The spinning system, spinning equipment and its technology characteristics for processing recycled fibrous materials exhibited by Switzerland Rieter and Saurer in 2022 China International Textile Machinery Exhibition & ITMA Asia were emphatically summarized. It is considered that guiding and developing the reuse of waste textiles scientifically and orderly conforms to Chinese laws, regulations and development plans. In this work, a UHF broadband surface-independent textile fully woven radio frequency identification (RFID) tag is presented. The antenna is composed of two stacked multilayer fabric pieces in which the shaped conductive and dielectric surfaces are part of the woven structure. In addition, a novel technique for the integration of the RFID chip in the woven structure was developed, providing a maximum integration level and making possible the manufacturing of the tag in a single step using conventional machinery from the textile industry. A tag prototype was experimentally characterized, showing a 12.5 m read range under a $\pm 60\,\, {}\times {}\pm 60^\circ $ angular range, when using a circularly polarized interrogator device with 35.2 dBm effective isotropic radiated power (EIRP). Smart textiles, known also as e-textiles, are of great interest for the development of healthcare and wellness applications that require the embedding of electronic devices into the fabrics. Although many prototype proposals may be found in the literature, the generalization and commercialization of e-textiles is limited by the lack of cost-effective, standard fabrication processes that can be applied to a large variety of fabrics. In this contribution, we analyze the deposition of silver and carbon pastes by screen printing methods on a wide selection of daily-use textiles, to gain insight into the main features to be considered when developing cost-effective smart textiles. Results show the prospects offered by screen printing to create conductive patterns over textile and flexible materials with sheet resistances lower than 1 Ω/sq and a good repeatability in the dimensions of the patterns. Nowadays, there are several ways to print images on textiles used by modern manufacturers. The choice of technology for applying the image depends on many factors: the number of products, area of the image, the number of colors in the picture, the raw material composition of the fabric, fabric colors. This work is devoted to studying the quality and stability of thermal transfer on fabrics made by screen printing. This method of applying images to textile materials in many ways is similar to screen printing. The difference lies in the fact that the idea is applied directly to the cut details or garment with direct screen printing. In contrast, transfer printing might be used to an intermediate carrier that is transferred. A study of the technological parameters of applying thermal transfer, which we made by screen printing on materials of various compositions, was carried out. Inspired by the ancient needling process in textiles, a kind of nanopaper of ultrahigh stable conductance enabled by a reinforcement structure containing cellulose aerogel and liquid metal is reported. Such a reinforcement structure can improve the interlaminar strength of the nanopaper by 94.8%, and the interlaminar strength of the modular connection by 39.2%. The nanopaper exhibits unique pressure-insensitive behavior (ΔR/R0 < 0.02) up to 0.9 MPa. The nanopapers show excellent performances as the heater, conductor and self-powered sensor. Conductors with high conductivity and flexibility are critical components of smart wearable electronics. However, the substrates of most reported flexible conductors are typically non-renewable and non-biodegradable, derived from petroleum-based synthetic polymers. Inspired by the ancient needling process in textiles, needling technology was introduced into the preparation of nanopaper-based sensors for the first time, a modular composite nanopaper-based electronic (MCPE) with an interlayer performance-enhancing structure was prepared by combining cellulose aerogel and liquid metal. Such a reinforcement structure can improve the interlaminar strength of the MCPE by 94.8 %, and the interlaminar strength of the modular connection by 39.2 %. The service life of the MCPE is greatly improved and its practical application scenarios are expanded. The MCPE has long-term durability (>6000 pressing/releasing cycles) and good initial conductivity (9.6 × 103 S cm−1). The MCPE exhibits unique pressure-insensitive behavior (Δ R / R 0 < 0.02) up to 0.9 MPa. In addition, as a wearable sensor, MCPE can respond to pressure and deformation through a self-powered mode. When the MCPE is used as an electric heater, the temperature can reach 58 °C at 0.8 V. The relevance of the topic of developing indicators for ensuring financial security for textile enterprises increased especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. The world has developed a situation where supply and demand simultaneously stopped. The magnitude of the global economic loss due to the Covid-19 pandemic has not yet been determined. The financial security assessment takes into account external and internal threats of the enterprise. In this paper were examined the scientific, theoretical and practical aspects of financial security of enterprises and their maintenance. Due to the specific nature of textile enterprises, financial security indicators are listed. The level of financial security of textile enterprises operating in Uzbekistan has also been assessed and analyzed, and scientific proposals and practical recommendations have been developed to ensure their financial security. Proposed methodic were implemented on private enterprise "OSBORN TEXTILE" and Joint-Venture "UZTEX TASHKENT" operating in Uzbekistan. Purpose -- Organization's core competencies are acknowledged as most valuable assets and skills which contribute to enhance the ability of innovation, the competitive advantage and commercial success of the business. Although several researchers have studied the effects of core competencies on the success of an organization, no enough work has been carried out to investigate the effect of core competencies onfront-end decision-making. Apparel-specific studies in the area of core competencies relating to front-end decision-making are rarely found. Therefore, this paper aims to determine the impact of organizational core competencies on front-end decision-making in the apparel innovation. Design/methodology/approach -- A conceptual framework was developed focusing four groups of competencies; technological/ technical, customer, network/ partnership and financial competences and hypothesis were derived. Sixty participants in different companies across Sri Lanka were randomly selected based on their involvement in the front-end of the apparel innovation for questionnaire survey. The data were analyzed using the SPSS version 20 statistical software package. Spearman's rho correlation and Linear regression analysis were used to quantify the impact of the competencies on front-end decisions. Findings -- The factors of network competencies are found to be the most influentialon effective frontend decision-making in apparel innovation in Sri Lanka. These results strongly suggests strengthening companies' ability to interact with partners who possess raw materials, machineries and technology know-how to facilitate efficient front-end decision-making. The next most influential are the factors of technological competencies. It highlights the importance of strengthening the companies' own technical/ technological competencies to facilitate effective front- end decision-making in apparel innovation. Originality/value -- The findings of this research are of main interest to extend the current understanding on how different factors of organization's core competencies influence on effective frontend decision-making in apparel innovation. Particularly, apparel domain practitioners will be motivated in implementing and nurturing these important/ and most influential competencies within their firms to facilitate front-end decision-making to achieve better results consistently. Based on the premise that textiles can contain information about situations of intercultural contact, including their degree of intensity, a group of textiles recovered from the Doncellas site in Northwest Argentina—some housed in the Ethnographic Museum Juan B. Ambrosetti (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and others in the Archeological Museum Dr. E. Casanova (Tilcara, Argentina)—were examined and related information was updated to bring to light the relational dynamics between the Salar of Atacama and neighboring territories that may have impacted both the Salar and the Loa River basin. In this paper we focus on one of those territories, Northwest Argentina, with the assumption that links established between that region and the Atacama would have intensified in the period ca. A.D. 1350–1500. This analysis led to our proposal that a process of expansion occurred in the Atacama at the time that was linked to the interests of the Inka Empire. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper, a novel kind of electromagnetic (EM) functional textiles is proposed, which show high-pass characteristics as they interact with EM waves. The periodically conductive woven fabric was designed, fabricated, and measured. Specifically, by means of unit cell model building and EM simulation, the theoretical S21 (transmission coefficient) and S11 (reflection coefficient) curves were obtained. A concrete sample was fabricated through weaving process, and its transmission characteristics were measured in the microwave anechoic chamber. The measured and simulated results were highly consistent, demonstrating the validity of design process. Compared with the aluminum foil paper sample, the S21 values of fabricated sample were a little smaller, and the reason could be attributed to yarn crimp and surface roughness. The EM characteristics of fabricated sample under two different polarization modes were slightly different, which was due to the beating-up tension of weaving process. The work could offer new research ideas, and the related products have potential advantages over rigid plates on the account of textile characteristics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Seersucker woven fabrics are increasingly used in the textile industry. Unfortunately, their popularity is limited due to the lack of standards and parameterization of their structure. Thus, the designer of the finished product (clothing, bedding, or decorative items) has problems with ordering a fabric with a specific structure and properties. In this context, it is necessary to parameterize them. This paper presents a method for measuring the surface geometry of seersucker woven fabrics using laser techniques.
