Corcovetella galianoae sp. nov. urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act: 150EC988-F9A0-439D-987B-8D13D5C1A1A0 Figs 1F–G, 4A–E, 5A–F Diagnosis Males of C. galianoae sp. nov. can be distinguished from C. aemulatrix by enlarged chelicera and a triangular and bent RTA. Females can be distinguished by an atrium wider than long and spermathecae aside of the atrium. Etymology The name is a matronym in honour of Maria Galiano, who has advanced salticid taxonomy in South America. Description Male MEASUREMENTS (N = 2). Total body 3.56 (4.6) mm long; carapace 1.60 (1.87) mm long, 0.92 (1.19) mm wide; cheliceral basal segment 0.68 (1.02) mm long, 0.35 mm wide; cheliceral fang 0.64 mm long; abdomen 1.50 (1.60) mm long, 0.89 mm wide. Diameter of eyes: AME = 0.28 mm, ALE = 0.11 mm, PME = 0.04 mm, PLE = 0.14 mm; sternum 0.69 mm long, 0.35 mm wide. Chelicerae brown covered with white setae (Fig. 1F), carapace brown with cephalic part dorsally black, white setae around eyes, endites and palps brown, labium and sternum dark-brown, most leg segments with longitudinal black stripes on sides, all Cx pale, all Fe mostly black, Pt and Ti I+II pale, other black, Mt I-III pale, Mt IV black, Ta I black, other Ta pale; abdomen brown to black, dorsally and laterally with a transverse wide white stripe in the middle (Fig. 1F). MORPHOLOGY. Basal segment of chelicera enlarged, protruding anteriorly with 3 teeth on prolateral margin, 1 tooth on retrolateral margin (Fig. 5A); fangs straight, distally bent; cephalic part of carapace dorsally flat, higher than thoracic part, without constriction (Fig. 4A). Leg spines: Ti I ventrally with 2.2.2, Mt I, II, III ventrally 2.2, Ti II ventrally with 2.1. Abdomen elipsoid, with a dorsal scutum, without constriction. Palpal Pt, Ti and Ta with dense plumose setae on the ventral side. RTA triangular with bent tip (Figs 4E, 5D), cymbium with elongated apophysis (Figs 4C, 5C), bulbus oval split in the middle, embolus coiled (Figs 4D, 5B). Female MEASUREMENTS (N = 2). Total body 4.86 (4.32) mm, carapace 1.84 (1.73) mm long, 1.12 (0.95) mm wide; cheliceral basal segment 0.48 (0.54) mm long, 0.35 mm wide, cheliceral fang 0.32 mm long; sternum 0.89 mm long, 0.45 mm wide, abdomen 2.24 (2.38) mm long, 1.21 mm wide. Diameter of eyes: AME = 0.35, ALE = 0.14, PME = 0.04, PLE = 0.14. MORPHOLOGY. As in male but chelicerae smaller, with 5 teeth on prolateral and 1 tooth on retrolateral margin. Palpal Ti and Ta bulbous with dense plumose setae on the ventral side. Epigyne with a single oval atrium, wider than long (Figs 4B, 5E); spermathecae composed of two chambers with ducts twisted in the middle and with fertilisation ducts in front (Fig. 5F). Natural history The species was collected from litter. Both sexes appear to resemble Camponotus planatus Roger, 1863 ants (Fig. 1H). Barcode COI of this species is deposited in GenBank, accession no. Myrmapana costaricaensis sp. nov. urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act: 4FBB9658-87A4-4519-B9D7-CB83DDAA37AA Figs 1A–B, D, 2–3 Diagnosis Males of M. costaricaensis sp. nov. are most similar in the shape of sexual organs to M. parallela. Males of M. costaricaensis differ from this species by a protuberance at the anterior margin of the cheliceral fang, the shape of the first strong tooth, and a sinusiodal RTA (Galiano 1969: figs 33, 43). Females can be recognised by spermathecae without prominent insemination ducts (“pipes”, see Prószyński 2016). Etymology The name is derived from the country of origin. MORPHOLOGY. Chelicerae protruding, longer than cephalothorax, with 14 teeth on prolateral margin, the first teeth strong, triangular; fangs straight, at base with dorsal protuberance, tip curved (Fig. 3A); cephalothorax elongated (Fig. 1A), cephalic part dorsally flat and slightly higher than thoracic part which is hump-shaped; sternum elongated. Leg spines: Ti I ventrally 2.2.2.2.2.2.2, Mt I ventrally 2.2, Ti II ventrally 2.1, Mt II ventrally 2.2, Mt III and IV ventrally 2. Abdomen elongated with a constriction about one third of its length and two dorsal scuta (Fig. 1A). Palpal cymbium oval, with one apical spine, tegulum large, oval as wide as cymbium, embolus coiled 2 times, tip of embolus straight, pointing laterally (Figs 2B, 3B); RTA elongated, sinusoid apically pointed (Figs 2D, 3C). Female MEASUREMENTS (N = 11). Total body 7.18 (5.40–7.34) mm, carapace 2.55 (2.48–2.96) mm long, 1.27 (1.08–1.39) mm wide, chelicera 0.63 (0.58–0.71) mm long, abdomen 2.87 (2.11–3.78) mm long, 1.20 mm wide; labium 0.49 mm long; sternum 1.27 mm long, 0.40 mm wide. Diameters of eyes: AME = 0.46 mm, ALE = 0.25 mm, PME = 0.07 mm, PLE = 0.25 mm. As in males but abdomen ventrally pale (Fig. 1B). MORPHOLOGY. As in males but chelicerae small, lateral margin of chelicerae with 6 teeth, retrolateral margin with 5 teeth; palpal Ta and Ti flattened (Fig. 1B, D); thoracic part of cephalothorax only slightly lower than cephalic part (Fig. 2A); abdomen with a single scutum. Epigyne with two large atria separated by a septum, atria approx. 1.5 times as wide as septum, median pocket rather triangular, situated below septum (Figs 2C, 3D); spermathecae large, oval, situated in the upper part of septum (Fig. 3E), without prominent insemination ducts. Variation The dark form is represented by both sexes (Fig. 1A–B), whereas the light form is known only in females (Fig. 1D). The two forms differ only by colouration. In the light form, palpal segments and carapace are orange-brown with dark spots around eyes, Fe I pale, frontal half of abdomen yellow, hind part dark-brown. Natural history This species was collected from tree foliage. The dark form appears to resemble Neoponera unidentata Mayr, 1862 ants (Fig. 1C), while the light form resembles Pseudomyrmex sp. ants (Fig. 1E). Pax islamita (Simon, 1873) spiders are medium sized (6–10 mm in adult stage), inhabiting leaf litter (Levy 1990). They were collected by hand under stones near the Adulam Nature Reserve (31.63419°N, 34.94669°E, 385 m a.s.l.), in central Israel, on 4. Apr. 2017. Specimens (n = 18, all juveniles) were placed individually into glass tubes (diameter 15 mm, 60 mm long) with a layer of gypsum on the bottom covered with a layer of sand. Spiders were kept at a room temperature of 24 °C and natural LD = 14:10 regime. One moth prey individual, Ephestia kuehniella Zeller, 1879, was offered to each spiders the next day. Results Out of 18 individuals collected, two juveniles constructed igloo-shaped retreats using sand grains within 24 hours after placing them onto sand (Fig. 1a). The other individuals constructed a retreat only 12 days after consuming prey, within which they moulted. These first two spiders did not accept prey (Ephestia moths), while all others (i.e. the non-parasitised spiders) did. Two weeks later the first fly larva emerged from one individual via a dorsal opening on the opisthosoma (Fig. 1b). The larva produced a few strands of silk by which it was attached to the side of the retreat. The other larva (Fig. 1c) emerged three days later. Only the first larva managed to pupate nine days after emerging from the spider host (Fig. 1d). The other larva died six days after emergence as it did not manage to get rid of its own excrement. After seven days an adult male hatched and was killed and preserved (Fig. 1e, f). The parasitoid most likely belongs to the genus Ogcodes Latreille, 1796 (unfortunately, the material was lost when being sent to the specialist).

Zodarion alentejanum sp. n. Pekár & Carvalho Figs 1–2 Type material. Holotype female. Portugal: Setúbal district: Lagoa da Sancha, 6 June 2009, J.C. Carvalho leg. (SMF). Etymology. The name is an adjective in neuter derived form the area where it occurs, the Alentejo province in southern Portugal. Diagnosis. This species belongs to the styliferum group. It is very closely related to Z. merlijni both in size and colour. Females are distinguished by the epigyne in which the median plate is about twice as long as wide and the central semi-circular rim is small. Description. Male unknown. Female. Total length 3.3–4.1 mm; prosoma 1.5–1.7 mm long, 0.9–1.2 mm wide. Colour. Carapace and chelicera yellow, legs yellow, sternum, coxae and femora pale, abdomen dorsally brown, laterally and ventrally pale. Epigyne: Median plate almost ellipsoid, 2 -times longer than wide, with a semi-circular rim in the centre of the posterior half of plate. The diameter of the rim is half the plate width (Fig. 1). Vulva with triangular receptacula separated by 3 x their diameter, irregular large ducts formed as in Fig. 2. Other material. PORTUGAL. Setúbal district: Lagoa da Sancha, 6 June 2009, 11Ƥ+ 2 j, J.C. Coimbra district: Coimbra, botanical garden, 2005, L. Crespo leg. (SMF). Etymology. The name is a noun in apposition and is derived form the area where it occurs, Costa da Prata. Diagnosis. This species belongs to the rubidum group. It is closely related to Z. costablancae but differs in the overall dark brown colour and smaller size. Males can further be distinguished by the wider tibial apophysis. Females are distinguished the by shorter plate of the epigyne. Description. Male. Total length 2.2–2.6 mm; prosoma 1.0–1.5 mm long, 0.7–1.0 mm wide. Colour. Carapace dark brown, femora dark brown, other leg segments yellow, sternum dark brown, coxae light brown, abdomen dorsally dark brown, ventrally pale, laterally pale, palpi dark brown. Palp. Tibial apophysis broad, slightly curved and bluntly pointed terminaly with a process on retrolateral side (Fig. 7). Median apophysis short and U-shaped. Embolus broad terminally oblique (Fig. 8). Female. Total length 2.7–3.7 mm; prosoma 1.2–1.7 mm long, 0.7–1.1 mm wide. Further as in male. Epigyne: Median plate 1.9 x wider than long, with paired openings separated by a septum. Anteriorly with a wedge-like structure (Fig. 9). Vulva with separated small round receptacula and irregular ducts as in Fig. 10. Remark. Re-examination of the material from Pekár & Cardoso (2005) revealed two individuals of this species previously assigned incorrectly to Z. atlanticum. Other material. PORTUGAL. This species belongs to the " rubidum " group sensu Bosmans (1997). It is closely related to Z. viduum Denis 1937, Z. costablancae Bosmans 1994 and Z. machadoi Denis 1939. Males of this species are distinguished from these species by shape of tibial apophysis, which is wide at base and gradually tapering towards tip. Females differ in shape of posterio­lateral margins of epigynal plate that are convergent. Description. Male. Total length 2.39 mm (SD=0.14, n=10), prosoma 1.25 mm (SD=0.06, n=10) long, 0.87 (SD=0.03, n=10) wide. Colour: Prosoma, chelicerae and sternum brown. Legs yellow but femora I and II brown. Opisthosoma dorsally dark sepia with one whitish spot above spinnerets, ventrally pale. Palp (Figs 56): tibial apophysis broad gradually tapering, curved anterio­dorsally, distally pointed. Basal part of bulbus protruding. Retinaculum with distal end rounded and flattened. Embolus and disal tegular apophysis straight and truncate. Female. Total length 3.19 mm (SD=0.32, n=10), prosoma 1.34 mm (SD=0.08, n=10) long, 0.92 (SD=0.06, n=10) wide. Colour: as in males but femora III and IV distally light brown. Epigyne (Figs 78): with two pouches. Anterior margin with a wedge­shaped structure. Posterior margins convergent. Width of epigynal plate twice as long as distance between inner ends of posterio­lateral margins. Distribution.
