Developing a Metal Matrix Composite (MMC) with 5, 10 & 15 weight % of fly ash and 4 weight % of talc using stir casting technique. This composite material has the benefit of developing a lubrication effect over the elevated temperature and where, it is tedious to maintain the lubricating property. They possess their utilizations in journal bearings, engine cylinder linings, piston etc. Drilling parameters are optimized with the help of input variables obtained using a drilling machine. L9 array model was developed with the help of MINITAB software. Using the data obtained from surface roughness and hardness test, a model iscreated. The input data was examined using the L9 array model. Developed L9 array model grants to trim down the experimentation work also decrease the manufacturing cost as well as testing cost.
