The article reports a study which was conducted to explore sociocultural factors in end-of-life (EoL) care in Belgium by scoping of the research literature. The review revealed that most topics were related to euthanasia; Belgium presents an oppor¬tunity to witness how euthanasia is put into practice when legalized, in a context where palliative care is highly developed and where many health care institutions have a Catholic affiliation. The findings show how EoL care takes place in Belgium.
