Objective: This study aims to analyze the influence of holistic innovation helices on eco-innovation, as well as the consequent environmental practices, cleaner production, social actions, sustainable development, and regional development, through the perception of 2338 participants from southern Brazil, evidenced by six research hypotheses. Design/methodology/approach: The methodology used was a quantitative and descriptive study, through the application of a survey with respondents from the Brazilian states of Paraná, Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul. For the data analysis, Exploratory Factor Analysis, Confirmatory Factor Analysis, and Structural Equation Modeling were used. Results: The hypothesis tests indicate that the relationships between holistic innovation helix and eco-innovation (H1), eco-innovation and environmental practices (H2), eco-innovation and social actions (H4) and eco-innovation and regional development (H6) are considered to be of high intensity (>0.5), the relationship between eco-innovation and cleaner production (H3) of moderate intensity (>0.3 and <0.5). However, the relationship of eco-innovation and sustainable development (H5) is of low intensity (<0.3). The six research hypotheses were confirmed. Originality/value: The main contribution of the study is evidence that eco-innovation is a strategic drive to significantly increase the elements of environmental sustainability, and a central point for actions aimed at environmental practices, social actions and cleaner production, to promote regional development in southern Brazil. Objective: To analyze the relationship between the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and eco-innovation, in the perception of 1,262 Brazilian respondents. Method: The methodology used was quantitative and descriptive research through confirmatory factor analysis and multiple linear regression. Main results: The results highlight that all SDGs influence eco-innovation. However, the most relevant relationship occurred between the variables of Sustainable Development Goals 17 (Partnerships to achieve the goal) and eco-innovation. Relevance/originality: The research's originality lies in providing an analysis framework, statistically validated (observable variables and constructs). Thus, the Framework proposed in the research can be replicated in different regional, national, and international contexts. Theoretical/methodological contributions: Theoretical contributions are linked to the development of the scale to measure the 17 SDGs, based on environmental, social, and economic precepts. Social/management contributions: The managerial and social contributions of the survey allow managers and related professionals to become aware of the importance of the SDGs, helping them with strategies for sustainable development. In addition to information for socio-environmental actions of public policies at regional and national levels, to support cities and regions in complying with the 2030 Agenda. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

SOCIAL responsibility , *TECHNOLOGICAL innovations , *SUSTAINABLE development , *ENVIRONMENTAL protection , *ENERGY consumption & the environment - Abstract
The increase in population, the high consumption of food and products, as well as the generation of domestic and industrial waste has triggered impacts on the environment, which compromises the maintenance of natural resources for a sustainable future. Cleaner Production, Social Responsibility and Eco-Innovation aim at sustainability, where Environmental Awareness and Sustainable Consumption include the principles and values linked to the environment issues that contribute to a sustainable future. This study aims to measure the Environmental Awareness antecedent relations, considering the constructs of Cleaner production, Social Responsibility and Eco-Innovation. The study also analyzes the relationship between Environmental Awareness and Sustainable Consumption, as well as their moderating effect on the Baby boomers and the X and Y generations on the relationships between the constructs. The research is based on the perception of 1123 participants from different generations from the region of south Brazil (the States of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and Paraná) and the method includes a quantitative and descriptive research, through modeling of structural equations. The results highlight that there is an important relationship between Cleaner production, Social Responsibility and Eco-Innovation, which positively influences Environmental Awareness and consequently, Sustainable Consumption through generations. The study also shows a strong correlation between Cleaner production and Eco-Innovation. In this context, both generations present different perceptions about these constructs; however, the Baby boomers generation presented a greater perception from the Cleaner production actions carried out by the companies. Consequently, it is evident for the companies to start disclosing Cleaner production as an opportunity window, which stimulates Sustainable Consumption and benefit the environment. Such positioning may become fundamental for the maintenance of natural resources and the quality of life for future generations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

SMART cities , *SUSTAINABLE development , *QUALITY of life , *HOUSING , *STRUCTURAL equation modeling , *CITIES & towns - Abstract
The concentration of housing in the urban area and the strong population growth, implies adapting the cities to meet the people's Quality of Life minimum. In this sense, smart cities present themselves as a viable solution to aggregate public resources, human capital, social capital and information, and communication technologies, to promote sustainable development. In this context, this research aims at analyzing the influence of the factors of Smart Governance on the Quality of Life in the context of the smart cities. This study is characterized as quantitative research, of a descriptive nature, made possible by means of a survey applied to 829 inhabitants of a city in the Northeast of Brazil. For the analysis of the data, we used multivariate data techniques, with the application of Structural Equation Modeling methodology. This study aims to analyze the influence of Smart Governance factors on Quality of Life in the context of smart cities, in the Northeastern region of Brazil. To that end, Transparency, Collaboration, Participation and partnership, Communication and Accountability on Quality of Life relationships were measured. The results of the research indicate intense and important relations among the constructs. Among the research findings, we highlight the identification of strategic drivers that can help the smart city rulers in the development of public policies and actions of the municipal executive that involves the population to achieve sustainable development goals. It is noteworthy that the research findings contribute to improving the governance of smart cities, in order to improve citizens' quality of life. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
