We have studied the Nb(70 nm)/Ni0.65Cu0.35(6.5 nm)/Si layered structure in the temperature range T = 1.5-10 K using polarized neutron reflectometry. The correlation of the states of magnetic structures is observed at temperature T = 9 K, which is slightly higher than the superconducting transition temperature Tc = 8.5 K of the structure. At temperature T = 4 K, which is lower than Tc, the effect of reflexivity of magnetic states existing at T = 9 K was observed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We have proposed a real-time method of neutron reflectometry. The magnetic state of the Ta/V/FM/Nb/Si ferromagnetic-superconducting system has been analyzed. Relaxation of the inhomogeneous magnetic state with a characteristic time of several hours, which depends on the magnetic field magnitude and temperature, has been observed. The relaxation of the domain structure has changed upon a transition of the V and Nb layers to the superconducting state. It has been concluded that real-time reflectometry data for polarized neutrons are important for determining the origin of magnetism in ferromagnetic-superconducting layered structures. Here we report on a feasibility study aiming to explore the potential of Polarized Neutron Reflectometry (PNR) for detecting the inverse proximity effect in a single superconducting/ferromagnetic bilayer. Experiments, conducted on the V (40 nm)/Fe (1 nm) S/F bilayer, have shown that experimental spin asymmetry measured at T = 0.5 T is shifted towards higher Q values compared to the curve measured at T = 1.5 T. Such a shift can be described by the appearance in superconducting vanadium of magnetic sublayer with a thickness of 7 nm and a magnetization of +0.8 kG. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

resonant enhancement of the neutron standing waves is proposed to use in order to increase the magnetic neutron scattering from a 'superconductor/ferromagnet' (S/F) bilayer. The model calculations show that usage of this effect allows to increase the magnetic scattering intensity by factor of hundreds. Aspects related to the growth procedure (order of deposition, roughness of the layers etc.) as well as experimental conditions (resolution, polarization of the neutron beam, background etc) are also discussed. Collected experimental data for the S/F heterostructure Cu(32 nm)/V(40 nm)/Fe(1 nm)/MgO confirmed the presence of a resonant 60-fold amplification of the magnetic scattering. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
