This study investigates a digital control system which is used in bearingless permanent magnet synchronous motors (BPMSMs). Compared with traditional permanent magnet synchronous motors, a BPMSM is characterized by higher speed and no mechanic friction. Therefore, the application value of the latter to the special area is higher than that of the former. An analysis from previous work on the BPMSM had proved its feasibility, and some performances such as suspension force, inductance and so on were also investigated. Based on this analysis, this study focuses on solving control problems in practical applications by designing a control system. The control system design includes overall schematic, hardware and software designs. Main software systems, including the force/current transform module and closed loop control module for radial displacement, are analyzed. Interface circuit for radial displacement, current feedback circuit and dead zone protection circuit are designed for the hardware system. Finally, several performance experiments have been conducted to verify the effectiveness of the designed digital control system. Experiment results indicate that the rotor has unique characteristics, such as stable suspension performance, good start-of-suspension performance, and rapid anti-disturbance features. Spherical multitouch displays offer exciting possibilities but are still costly. In this paper, we describe hardware and software considerations to build a more affordable one, with off-the-shelf optical components and 3D printed elements. With the fast proliferation of microgrids integrated into the power grid, several nearby microgrids with common benefit have been coupled to be multi‐microgrids (MMGs), which is a significant stage for developing the smart grid. A suitable control structure and corresponding control device need to be proposed for the MMGs operating efficiently. However, mostly micrgrid control devices are still restricted to the single microgrid and have limited application without the common design. The authors develop control devices with a prodigious popularisation value for the MMGs based on the hierarchical control structure. According to the proposed four‐layer control architecture (scheduling layer, central control layer, integrated terminal layer and bottom layer), the hardware and software design suitable for the MMGs control devices and its multi‐time scale communication architecture has been presented. Furthermore, the appearance design and interface exploitation were introduced as well. Experimental results are provided to demonstrate the validity of the proposed MMGs control structure and devices, which could contribute to the large‐scale application of MMGs control devices and provide a reference for other MMGs projects. [Objective]The system was developed to realize rapid detection of agricultural products, effective management of test results and convenience query to reduce food safety risks, offer real statistics, enhance consumer confidence, and provide references for relevant equipment and system research. [Method]A kind of food quality and safety on-site monitoring system was designed, which has hardware and software parts, by combining forefront technologies, including embedded technology, configuration fusion, RFID, GPS, wireless communications, J2 EE and Web Service. [Result]The system hardware mainly includes self-made acquisition terminal devices, RFID tracing equipment and information concentrator. The system software includes the terminal device control software and remote monitoring service platform. The acquisition terminal device can obtain the values of temperature, pH, heavy metals and pesticide residues by connecting different sensors, which would be further recorded and read by EPC electronic tags and RFID devices through the concentrator. Finally, the concentrator transmits these data to the remote service platform via wireless networks, for data storage, analysis, query and early warning. [Conclusion]It could provide a set of technologies and solutions to improve the detection efficiency of agricultural products for food inspection and supervision departments, reduce food safety risks and environmental pollution, and promote the rational use of agricultural chemicals. A kind of dexterous mechanical arm is designed to play table tennis for the humanoid robot. According to the demand for rapid response to the high-speed moving objects for the humanoid robot, the structural of the arm is designed with reference to the structural characteristics of the human arm, the hardware and software design of the arm control system based on CAN bus is described, and the system uses the distributed structure including four modules: the host computer, the communication module, the joint controller module, and the power module. Prototype experiments are carried out. Experiments show that the dexterous mechanical arm can effectively meet the needs of fast and flexible ability to play table tennis, and provide a new method for system debugging and system integration of the humanoid robot body. This paper discusses and presents a case study of a practically oriented design project together with a few examples of implemented design projects recently incorporated into an undergraduate system course at the mechatronics engineering department in Al-Balqa' Applied University. These projects have had a positive impact on both the department and its graduates. The focus of these projects is the design and implementation of processor-based systems. This helps graduate students cross the border between hardware design and software design. Our case study discusses the research methodology adopted for the physical development of the project, the technology used in the project, and the design experiences and outcomes. In this paper, the authors attempt to provide a solution for tracking and tracing meat cuts in a typical boning hall. The proposed system should be able to maintain high standards of operational fluency whilst maintaining 100% traceability. This could only be achieved by providing an operational smart material handling system that could address public health and safety concern. A multistage procedure to relate a novel idea to a fully operational smart conveyor system capable of storing, maintaining, and transferring product information into complex routings of a harsh food environment is described in detail. Integration of mechanical design, electronic architecture, and radio frequency (RF) identification equipment using the state-of-the-art factory control Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) suite of software is discussed. Various hardware tests, destructive or simulated, conducted to ensure maximum conformity to industry standards, are described. Specific tests were applied to the control software and Data Management System (DBMS) to maintain the integrity of the tracking and traceability system. This paper presents the conception, design, implementation, and validation of an original, fully functional biosensor based on surface plasmon resonance (SPR) technology. We present the motivation for building this sensor followed by the system specification, a brief overview of the theory of operation for SPR physics, and then give a detailed description of the hardware design, software design, and immunoassay design. We present a novel, graphical approach for tracking shifts in SPR center frequency with an autocorrelation feature that minimizes component variation. Additionally, we present the wireless communications aspects of our design, which adds to its appeal for remote system deployment and autonomous operation. Our success demonstrates the immediate availability of all the hardware, software, and biological components required to construct a fully functional biosensor with industrial application.
