The literature on the theme of innovativeness displays a multidimensional character and interrelates with diverse approaches and research perspectives. As from the early 1990s, the scientific literature on the theme began to undergo significant growth and resulting in researchers in this field encountering rising difficulties as they attempt to remain updated as regards the different research flows. Furthermore, the volume of international production rendered it equally difficult to identify the underlying intellectual and conceptual structures of this field. In this context, the present study stems from the application of a quantitative approach to these scientific outputs through the means of combining diverse bibliometric techniques, including the co-occurrence of keywords, bibliographic coupling and co-citation analysis. This gathered and analysed 2523 of the scientific works available in the Web of Science, one of the most important global databases of scientific knowledge. This identified the origins of the current literature on innovativeness as well as its core justifications and leading intellectual and conceptual structures, including strategic and longitudinal perspectives on the development of this theme within the business studies field. We furthermore deployed, in a complementary approach, three different software applications: VOSviewer, SciMAT and Bibliometrix. Finally, based upon qualitative analysis, this study furthermore identifies a set of research opportunities that enable those approaching this field to plan, target and disseminate future research efforts.

This article proposes an integrated theoretical model, combining Polanyi and Peirce constructs - tacit knowledge and semiotics, respectively - under the symbolic interactionist perspective. It aims to understand how signs are manifested as mediators in the tacit knowledge sharing process among members of a cooperative organization. It is based on: a theoretical articulation of the principles of tacit knowledge, which defends the ineffability of this kind of knowledge; semiotic theory, in which signs are a representation of “something for someone” and imply that everything in the world is a sign; and the symbolic interactionist view. This theoretical integration presents a significant theoretical contribution because it proposes a process of semiotic perception to tacit knowledge sharing. This perspective suggests that tacit knowledge sharing occurs through symbolic interaction, mediated by semiotics; this innovative model depends both on internal and external conditions, albeit involving aspects outside organizational control.

Purpose: To identify and characterize the innovative and sustainable actions that occur in a company in são Paulo in the fruit segment. The study was conducted in the Fava Group, a medium-sized, family-run Brazilian company settled in the municipalities of Jundiaí and Miracatu in the State of São Paulo.Methodology/approach: The research was exploratory with the use of the qualitative method. In the data collection, the techniques of interviews and documentary analysis were used. 16 interviews were conducted at the company's headquarters in Jundiaí and the production unit in Miracatu, São Paulo. The analyses were carried out based on the Flores approach (1994).Originality/Relevance: It was observed through detailed analysis, how innovation and sustainability presented interdependence relationships in the actions of these constructs in the researched company. As for its relevance, it is in its application.Main results: It was found that the company presents actions related to innovation in its production process and sustainability in the three dimensions, that is, the ecological, social, and economic systems, defined as triple bottom line.Theoretical/methodological contribution: The contributions of this research were in the association of the constructs that make up the theoretical basis involved being used and applied in the studied reality and, in the interpretation and analysis of the data, through the categories and meta categories, resulting in the system proposed by Flores (1994).Social contributions / for management: The implementations of innovative and sustainable practices are leveraged by its founder since the beginning of the Group's operations, making them a competitive differential., Objetivo do estudo: foi identificar e caracterizar as ações inovadoras e sustentáveis que ocorrem em uma empresa paulista do segmento de frutas. O estudo foi realizado no Grupo Fava, empresa de médio porte, familiar e brasileira situada nos municípios de Jundiaí e Miracatu no Estado de São Paulo.Metodologia/abordagem: a pesquisa foi exploratória com emprego do método qualitativo. Na coleta dos dados utilizou-se as técnicas de entrevistas e análise documental. Foram realizadas 16 entrevistas, na sede da empresa em Jundiaí e na unidade produtiva em Miracatu, em São Paulo. As análises foram realizadas com base na abordagem de Flores (1994).Originalidade/Relevância (obrigatório): observou-se mediante a análise detalhada, verificar como a inovação e a sustentabilidade, apresentaram relações de interdependência nas ações desses construtos na empresa pesquisada. Quanto à sua relevância, está em sua aplicação.Principais resultados: verificou-se que a empresa apresenta ações referentes à inovação em seu processo produtivo e a sustentabilidade nas três dimensões, isto é, os sistemas ecológicos, sociais e econômicos, definidos como triple bottom line.Contribuições teóricas/metodológicas (obrigatório): as contribuições desta pesquisa, foram na associação dos construtos que compõem a base teórica envolvida sendo utilizadas e aplicadas na realidade estudada e, na interpretação e análise dos dados, por meio das categorias e metacategorias, resultando no sistema proposto por Flores (1994).Contribuições sociais / para a gestão (opcional): as implementaçãoes das práticas inovativas e sustentáveis, são alavancadas pelo seu fundador desde o inicio das operações do Grupo, tornando-as um diferencial competitivo.

As feiras livres são espaços destinados tanto ao comércio quanto ao lazer e encontros, tornando-se ambientes propícios ao compartilhamento de conhecimentos. Apesar da sua riqueza para estudos organizacionais, não têm havido pesquisas que tratem do compartilhamento de conhecimento em tais contextos. Neste sentido, o objetivo da pesquisa foi investigar como os feirantes compartilham conhecimentos entre si e com os fregueses, destacando a natureza dos relacionamentos entre os mesmos. Para tanto, realizou-se uma pesquisa qualitativa, através de entrevistas semiestruturadas, com feirantes e fregueses da Feira Livre de Campina Grande-PB. Os resultados apresentaram alguns exemplos de compartilhamento de conhecimentos, além de indicar que os relacionamentos são permeados por amizade, lealdade e confiança entre feirantes e fregueses. Já, entre os próprios feirantes, verificou-se distanciamento, polidez e deslealdade.

This work aims to identify, in literature, the variables used to represent the human capital within the system to innovate. It presents, as well as a paper that permeates many areas of knowledge from the perspective of understanding the possibility of human capital as an economic resource and therefore its measurement. The diversity of concepts that address the issue led to increased understanding of the phenomenon, because of the different theoretical perspectives, however, the different variables used as human capital, as well as their training and their relationships with different dependent variables, have led to contradictory results (Dewar; Dutton, 1986). Therefore, the interest in defining a construct with strong theoretical support can serve as a director for future research in this area. It is observed that at the end of the diversity of variables used converge to form a construct based on qualifications, character and outcome of this appeal. The development of this construct regarding the limitations of ontological issue, and allow the variables to be worked differently by each researcher.

Innovation and knowledge creation-these two concepts have a strong relationship but this relationship has not been examined systematically. This paper reviews the important theoretical work in both streams of research, highlighting the fundamental similarities and differences. Four major models of innovation are compared, and the distinction between radical and incremental innovation is examined. The nature of organizational knowledge and the process of knowledge creation are presented. We then compare the principal findings of the research on innovation and knowledge creation, and conclude with a new framework that differentiates types of innovation based on a knowledge creation perspective.

A literatura tem demonstrado a importância da confiança na construção do capital intelectual. Este estudo pretende trazer uma perspectiva de gerenciamento interdependente da confiança, ao identificar e discutir o papel das expectativas dos empregados quanto ao comportamento dos seus líderes em relações de confiança. A pesquisa caracterizou-se como descritiva. Os dados foram coletados mediante questionário fechado, ao qual foi acoplada uma escala do tipo Likert de seis pontos, e tratados com estatística descritiva simples e análise multivariada. A amostra, aleatória, consistiu de 331 alunos de cursos de pós-graduação em Administração de Empresas de uma universidade localizada em São Paulo, SP. Os resultados evidenciaram que os liderados monitoram o comportamento dos seus líderes quanto à confiança existente nas relações entre ambos, segundo três dimensões: respeito, honestidade e crédito no empregado. Isso indica que o gerenciamento de confiança, para a população estudada, admite uma perspectiva de interdependência, que deve ser levada em consideração, ao se desejar promover condições para o desenvolvimento do capital intelectual, fonte de vantagem competitiva sustentável. It has been demonstrated the importance of the trust in the construction of the intellectual capital. This study highlights the perspective of the interdependent trust management, discussing the role of the employees' expectations about the leaders behavior that shows them they are involved on trust relationships. A descriptive research was conducted using a structured questionnaire. A six-point Likert typology scale was used. The data were treated with simple descriptive statistics and multivariate analysis. The random sample consisted of 331 students of master degree course of business administration. The results evidenced that the employees monitor three dimensions of their leaders trust behavior: respect, honesty and credit on the employees. This indicate that the management of trust admits an interdependent perspective, and that this should be taken in consideration to promote conditions for the development of the intellectual capital as a source of sustainable competitive advantage.

Este artigo aborda o desafio na combinação de diferentes métodos de análise, por conta da diversidade de dados coletados no campo, de forma que tal diversidade de métodos não apresente conflitos epistemológicos. É oferecido o relato de um caso prático, cujo objeto de investigação era o entendimento sobre como o compartilhamento do conhecimento tácito ocorre tendo os signos como mediadores, analisados à luz da semiótica. Detalha os diferentes tipos de dados coletados e explica como essa diversidade foi tratada pela combinação de diferentes métodos, alinhados entre si, dentro do paradigma interpretacionista simbólico. Espera-se que este trabalho contribua como exemplo para trabalhos com propostas semelhantes. This article discusses the challenge in combining different methods of analysis, due to the diversity of data collected in the field, so that such a diversity of methods does not present epistemological conflicts. It is offered an account of a case study, whose object of research was the understanding of how the sharing of tacit knowledge occurs with signs as mediators, analyzed in the light of semiotics. This study details the different types of data collected, and explains how this diversity was treated by a combination of different methods, aligned with each other within the symbolic interpretationist paradigm. It is expected that this work contributes as a practical example to researchers with similar proposals.
