Pandemija COVID-19 u 2020. promijenila je cijeli svijet i uzrokovala je stagnaciju svih gospodarskih grana. Zbog zatvaranja granica i epidemioloških mjera koje su države diljem svijeta implemntirale, putovanja su bila onemogućena. Turistička industrija jedna je od najpogođenij industrija ovom krizom. Ovaj rad pruža uvid u važnost turizma kao gospodarske grane u svijetu te ukazuje koliko zapravo je turizam važan za opstanak cjelokupnog hrvatskog gospodarstva. Putničke agencije u Hrvatskoj u uspješnim godinama prije pandemije dovele su veliki broj posjetitelja na našu obalu i Grad Zagreb. Međutim pred izazovima pandemije njihovo poslovanje gotovo je bilo u potpunosti onemogućeno. Ovaj rad analizirat će koliko je pandemija utjecala na turističke brojke te kako su se putničke agencije na području Grada Zagreba nosile s izazovima 2020. godine, čije je planove osim pandemije pomrsio i potres. Fokus istraživanja koje će ovaj rad predstaviti je promidžbena i krizna komunikacija putničkih agencija na području Grada Zagreba u 2020. godini., The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. changed the whole world and caused the stagnation of all economic sectors. Due to border closures and epidemiological measures implemented by countries around the world, traveling was impossible. The tourism industry is one of the most affected industries by this crisis. This paper provides an insight into the importance of tourism as an economic branch in the world and indicates how important tourism is for the survival of the entire Croatian economy. Travel agencies in Croatia in the successful years before the pandemic brought a large number of visitors to our coast and the City of Zagreb. However, in the face of the challenges of the pandemic, their business was almost completely disabled. This paper will analyse the impact of the pandemic on tourism in general and how travel agencies in the City of Zagreb have coped with the challenges of 2020., whose plans were thwarted not only by the pandemic but also by the earthquake. The focus of the research that this paper will present is the promotional and crisis communication of travel agencies in the City of Zagreb in 2020.

Pandemija koronavirusa drastično je utjecala na naše živote i promijenila ih korjenito. Mediji su postali vrlo važan čimbenik informiranja o novim epidemiološkim mjerama koje su donesene i kojih se društvo treba pridržavati. Razmatranjem teorije selekcije vijesti, u ovome radu utvrdila sam koje faktore selekcije vijesti su nacionalne televizije u Hrvatskoj koristile prilikom izrade priloga o ključnim trenucima u razvoju situacije s koronavirusom u Hrvatskoj. Istraživanje sam provela koristeći kvantitativnu analizu sadržaja. Cilj rada bio je zaključiti koje su faktore televizijske kuće, komercijalne (RTL i Nova TV) i javne (HRT) najviše koristile prilikom izrade priloga o „ključnim“ trenucima koronavirusa u Hrvatskoj odnosno koji faktori prevladavaju pri selekciji. Također, detektirala sam koji su faktori izostavljeni u većini priloga, ali i koje su razlike između televizija kada su u pitanju kriteriji selekcije vijesti. S obzirom na to da se kriteriji selekcije vijesti mijenjaju i razlikuju međusobno barem brojčano, kako bi napravila selekciju koristila sam kategorije koje navodi Tena Perišin u svojoj knjizi Televizijske vijesti. Iz analize je zaključeno kako su televizije najviše koristili iste faktore vijesti, a to su: važnost, utjecaj, značenje i novost., The coronavirus pandemic has drastically affected our lives and changed them radically. The media has become a very important factor in informing about new epidemiological measures that have been adopted and that society needs to adhere to. Considering the theory of news selection, in this paper I determined which news selection factors were used by national televisions in Croatia when making stories about key moments in the development of the coronavirus situation in Croatia. I conducted the research using quantitative content analysis. The aim of the study was to conclude which factors the broadcasters, commercial (RTL and Nova TV) and public (HRT) were used the most when making news stories about the "key" moments of coronavirus in Croatia, in different words I determined which factors prevail in the selection. Also, I detected what factors are omitted in most of the articles, but also what are the differences between televisions when it comes to news selection criteria. Considering that the criteria for selecting news change and different from each other at least numerically, in order to make a selection, I used the categories mentioned by Tena Perišin in her book Television News. The analysis concluded that televisions used the same news factors the most, namely: importance, influence, meaning and novelty.

Imidž zemlje podrijetla može poprilično utjecati na percepciju potrošača kada razmatraju kupovinu nekog proizvoda, a to itekako dolazi do izražaja pri odabiru proizvoda za koje je potrebno napraviti veće investicije poput kupovine automobila. Tako su se kroz povijest stvorili i određeni stereotipi o proizvođačima automobila ovisno o njihovom porijeklu pa se primjerice smatra da su njemački automobili najpouzdaniji, talijanski najljepši, a francuski najskromniji. Stoga je primarni cilj ovog diplomskog rada istražiti postoji li povezanost između zemlje podrijetla sa stereotipima određenih proizvođača automobila, na koji način određeni odabrani proizvođači brendiraju svoje automobile te u kojoj je mjeri način oglašavanja kroz povijest povezan s današnjim stereotipima o proizvođačima automobila. Za potrebe istraživanja, odabrana su tri najpoznatija proizvođača automobila iz tri zemlje koje imaju najveću proizvodnju automobila u Europi – Volkswagen iz Njemačke, Citroën iz Francuske i Fiat iz Italije. Analizom sadržaja, kao glavnim istraživanjem, analizirane su po tri reklame svakog od navedenih proizvođača iz tri razdoblja njihove povijesti, a provedeno je i orijentacijsko istraživanje, odnosno preliminarna anketa kako bi se utvrdili pretpostavljeni stereotipi. Rezultati ovog istraživačkog rada su pokazali da uistinu postoji povezanost između zemlje podrijetla i stereotipa koji se vežu uz određene proizvođače automobila, ali da je i način oglašavanja kroz povijest u značajnoj mjeri povezan s današnjim stereotipima odabranih proizvođača automobila., The image of the country of origin can affect the perception of consumers when considering buying a product, but this is very evident when consumers are choosing products that require major investments such as buying a car. Thus, throughout history, certain stereotypes about car manufacturers have been created depending on their origin, so for example, German cars are considered to be the most reliable, Italian the most beautiful and French the most modest. Therefore, the primary goal of this thesis is to investigate whether there is a connection between the country of origin with the stereotypes of certain car manufacturers, how certain selected manufacturers brand their cars and to what extent advertising through history is related to today's stereotypes about car manufacturers. For the purposes of the research, the three most famous car manufacturers from the three countries with the largest car production in Europe were selected - Volkswagen from Germany, Citroën from France and Fiat from Italy. Content analysis, as the main research, analyzed three advertisements of each of these manufacturers from three periods of their history, and an orientation survey was conducted, ie a preliminary survey to determine the assumed stereotypes. The results of this research work showed that there is indeed a connection between the country of origin and stereotypes associated with certain car manufacturers, but also that the way of advertising throughout history is significantly related to today's stereotypes of selected car manufacturers.

Masovni mediji jedan su od ključnih dijelova suvremenog društva. Njihov zadatak je informirati javnost na vrijeme i s istinitim informacijama, oni oblikuju društvo i kulturu, ali su i proizvod društva i kulture. Izvještavanje o riziku, privlači veliki broj gledatelja, zbog velikog naboja emocija koje se prenose preko, u ovom slučaju, televizijskog ekrana. U izvještavanju o prirodnim nepogodama uvijek je potreban dodatan oprez, kako ne bi došlo do zastrašivanja publike. Beck na prirodne nepogodne gleda kao na hazarde na koje se ne može utjecati, ali rizik nastaje kada predviđamo moguću štetnu posljedicu određenog hazarda. Jedna od glavnih metoda manipulacije putem medija su i emocije, koje sam ovim istraživanjem također obuhvatila. Cilj ovoga rada bio je istražiti kako je predstavljen rizik od posljedica potresa, koliko su mediji težili javnoj zamijećenosti, a koliko društvenoj dobrobiti u prilozima triju najvećih televizijskih kuća u Hrvatskoj: HRT, RTL i Nova TV. Uzorak je činilo ukupno 295 priloga. Rezultati istraživanja pružili su odgovor na četiri istraživačka pitanja: koliko su televizije u svojim središnjim informativnim emisijama u odabranim razdobljima posvećivale vremena izvještavajući o potresima na Banovini, kojim riječima se u televizijskim središnjim informativnim emisijama opisuje potres i posljedice potresa, kroz koje su vrijednosne i emocionalne obrasce televizije izvještavale o potresu i potresom pogođenim područjima i jesu li televizijski izvještaji nudili konkretno rješenje problema i doprinosili smirivanju situacije? Their task is to inform the public in time and with true information, they shape society and culture, but they are also a product of society and culture. Risk reporting attracts a large number of viewers, due to the emotions that are transmitted through, in this case, the television screen. Additional caution is always needed in reporting on natural disasters, so as not to intimidate the audience. Beck views natural disasters as uncontrollable hazards, but the risk arises when we anticipate the possible harmful consequences of a particular hazard. One of the main methods of manipulation through the media is emotions, which I also covered in this research. The aim of this paper was to investigate how the risk of earthquake consequences was presented, how much the media aspired to public attention, and how much to social welfare in the reports of the three largest television companies in Croatia: HRT, RTL and Nova Tv. The sample consisted of a total of 295 television reports. The results of the research provided an answer to four research questions: how much time did television programs devote to reporting on earthquakes in the Banovina area in their central news programs in selected periods, what words are used in television central news programs to describe the earthquake and the consequences of the earthquake, through which value and emotional patterns did television news programs report on the earthquake and earthquake-affected areas and did television reports offer a concrete solution to the problem and contribute to calming the situation? The data showed how the media fulfilled their function, did not construct risk, did not manipulate emotions, they served as a communication bridge between the victims and the institutions that provide assistance.

U radu je postavljen teorijski okvir industrije nostalgije, komodifikacije, digitalnog okruženja i jugonostalgije. Metodom studije slučaja i kritičke analize diskursa analizirani su Instagram profili i objave jugonostalgičnog sadržaja, kao i hrvatska humoristična TV serija Crno-bijeli svijet i reklama za limitiranu seriju tenisica brenda Adidas u čast 75. obljetnice KK Jugoplastika. Većinu analiziranih objava odlikuje neostalgija iliti nostalgija iz druge ruke, kako ju naziva prof. Mitja Velikonja, a odgovaraju kategoriji eskapističke/utopijske nostalgije koja je komercijalni fenomen prema Zali Volčič. Rad je prvi takve vrste koji se posvećuje analizi jugonostalgije u digitalnom okruženju u kontekstu hrvatske akademske zajednice i kao takav ima veliki potencijal za daljnja istraživanja. The paper sets out the theoretical framework of the industry of nostalgia, commodification, digital environment and Yugonostalgia. Instagram profiles and posts of Yugoslav nostalgic content, as well as the Croatian humorous TV series Black and White World and an advertisement for a limited series of Adidas sneakers in honor of the 75th anniversary of BC Jugoplastika were analyzed using the case study method and critical discourse analysis. Most of the analyzed publications are characterized by neostalgia or second-hand nostalgia, as stated by Mitja Velikonja, and correspond to the category of escapist / utopian nostalgia which is a commercial phenomenon according to Zala Volčič. The paper is the first of its kind dedicated to the analysis of Yugonostalgia in a digital environment in the context of the Croatian academic community and as such has great potential for further research.

Ratchet: Gladiator je videoigrica iz 2005. godine i četrvti dio sage o vanzemaljcu Ratchetu i njegovom pomoćniku, robotu Clanku, ratnim junacima svoje galaksije. U spomenutom nastavku, Ratchet i Clank su oteti od strane Gleamana Voxa, medijskog mogula u odmetnutom dijelu galaksije znanim kao Shadow Sector. Za potrebe gladijatorske igre imena Dreadzone, Vox otima junake iz oostatka galaksije s kojima je Shadow Sector u političkom sukobu. Dreadzone je sport koji Voxu, eliti u Shadow sectoru donosi visoke profite, a iza sebe ima medijsku mašineriju čija su glavna lica voditelji Dallas i Juanita, a koji sukladno Voxovim naputcima, promoviraju sport i izvještavaju o natjecateljima i o ostatku galaksije, najčešće negativno zbog političkog konteksta odnosa Shadow sectora i ostatka galaksije. Upravo zbog toga, ovaj rad promatra reprezentaciju medijskih profesionalaca prikazanih u narativu videoigrice. Iz polja teorije masovne komunikacije, izabrana je kritična teorija medija Noama Chomskog, kao i proizvodnja pristanka Walter Lipmanna kako bismo vidjeli na koji način medijski profesionalci u skladu s interesima elite formiraju medijski sadržaj i predstavljaju ga javnosti. Dodatno je, polazeći od Wulfmeyera, prikazana i novinarska etika, odnosno kako ju medijski profesionalci krše u izvršavanju svojega posla, a kroz alate medijske komunikacije agenda settinga i uokviravanja. Istraživačka pitanja bila su; jesu li novinari u narativu ove videoigrice prikazani pozitivno ili negativno? Kako su likovi novinara postavljeni prema novinarskoj etici? Može li se na njih primijeniti Chomskijeve zamjerke masovnim medijima? Rade li na proizvodnji pristanka, i koriste li alate kao što su agenda-setting i uokviravanje? Rezultati su pokazali kako su novinari u narativu prikazani negativno, kršeći novinarsku etiku, pritom se koristeći navedenim alatima kako bi proizveli pristanak javnosti u interesu elita, prema opisima Noama Chomskog. In the aforementioned sequel, Ratchet and Clank are kidnapped by Gleaman Vox, a media mogul in a renegade part of the galaxy known as the Shadow Sector. For the purposes of a gladiator-type game called Dreadzone, Vox kidnaps heroes from the rest of the galaxy with whom the Shadow Sector is in political conflict. Dreadzone is a sport that brings high profits to Vox, the elite in the Shadow sector, and is supported by the media machinery whose main characters are the hosts Dallas and Juanita, who, according to Vox's instructions, promote the sport and report on competitors and the rest of the galaxy, mostly negatively due to political context. From the field of mass communication theory, Noam Chomsky’s critical media theory, as well as Walter Lipmann’s manufacturing consent, were chosen to see how media professionals shape media content in accordance with elite interests and present it to the public. Additionally, starting from Wulfmeyer, journalistic ethics is presented to see how media professionals violate it in the execution of their work and through the tools of media communication: agenda-setting and framing. The research questions were; are the journalists in the narrative of this video game portrayed positively or negatively? How are the characters of journalists set up according to journalistic ethics? Can Chomsky’s objections to the mass media be applied to them? Do they work on producing consent, and do they use tools such as agenda-setting and framing? The results showed that journalists were portrayed negatively in the narrative, violating journalistic ethics, while using tools of agenda-setting and framing to manufacture public consent in the interest of elites in line with Noam Chomsky’s descriptions.

Ovaj rad bavi se problematikom etike i privatnosti u kontekstu društva platformi. Naime, usponom digitalnih oligopolnih platformi koje ostvaruju profit monetiziranjem podataka, dolazi do sve veće ugroze etičkog načela privatnosti. Mrežne platforme nisu više samo dio društvenih struktura, već ih one kreiraju. Nameće se pitanje odgovornosti za takvu praksu koja narušava temeljna prava pojedinca. U ovom radu analizirane su politike privatnosti platformi WhatsAppa i Signala. Pritom je korištena metoda kritičke analize diskursa kao najadekvatnija za istraživanje ove problematike. Cilj ovog rada bio je ustanoviti koja od navedenih platformi prikuplja manje podataka, odnosno koja je više u skladu s etičkim načelom privatnosti., This thesis deals with the problem of ethics and privacy in the context of platform society. However, with the rise of digital oligopolistic platforms which make profit by data monetization, ethical principles of privacy are becoming more and more endangered. Internet platforms are not merely a part of social structures, but also create them. Responsibility for that kind of practice, which endangers principle rights of an individual, comes to question. This thesis analyzes privacy policies of two platforms, WhatsApp and Signal. Critical discourse analysis approach is used as the most adequate method for researching this kind of problem. The objective of the thesis was to establish which one of the platforms in question collects less data, i.e. which one is more in accordance with the etchical principles of privacy.

Naime, usponom digitalnih oligopolnih platformi koje ostvaruju profit monetiziranjem podataka, dolazi do sve veće ugroze etičkog načela privatnosti. However, with the rise of digital oligopolistic platforms which make profit by data monetization, ethical principles of privacy are becoming more and more endangered. Internet platforms are not merely a part of social structures, but also create them. Responsibility for that kind of practice, which endangers principle rights of an individual, comes to question. This thesis analyzes privacy policies of two platforms, WhatsApp and Signal. Critical discourse analysis approach is used as the most adequate method for researching this kind of problem. U radu se teorijski i empirijski, kvalitativnom metodom intervjua na uzorku od šest sugovornika istražuje fenomen turbofolka u svakodnevnici mladih u Hrvatskoj. U teorijskom dijelu turbofolk je smješten u društveno politički kontekst pri čemu se povezuje s nacionalizmom, balkanizmom, feminizmom, ali globalizacijom i konzumerizmom kao bitnim čimbenicima kada se govori o suvremenim glazbenim žanrovima. Turbofolk se provlači i kroz sociološke koncepte kulture i ukusa, te se istražuje njegova pozicija u hrvatskim medijima. Rezultati tematske analize intervjua pokazuju kako je turbofolk i dalje opterećen stereotipima, ali je priznat kao mainstream glazba među mladima u Hrvatskoj. Nadalje, uočeno je kako sugovornici svoje svakodnevne medijske navike vezane uz turbofolk gotovo isključivo povezuju uz digitalne medije. U kontekstu turbofolka kao glazbenog žanra stavljaju naglasak na hibridizaciju žanrova i utjecaj zapadne popularne kulture. Turbofolk je za njih također vezan za noćne izlaske i konzumaciju alkohola. Uočena je odbojnost prema nacionalizmu, kao i određeni pad društvene osude prema slušateljima turbofolka u svakodnevnom životu. Naposljetku, iako su kritički nastrojeni prema određenim vrijednostima koje turbofolk promovira, sugovornici smatraju da se radi o glazbenom žanru koji je izvor opuštanja i razonode., The aim of this research is to explain the phenomenon of turbo-folk in the everyday life of Croatian youth, by employing a theoretical framework that is backed by empirical evidence drawn from the qualitative analysis of six interviews. In the theoretical part of the paper, turbofolk is placed in the socio-political context, whereby it is linked not only to nationalism, Balkanism and feminism, but also to globalization and consumerism as important factors whilst discussing modern musical genres. Furthermore, turbofolk is analysed in regards to the sociological concepts of culture and taste, and its position in Croatian media is explored. The results of the thematic analysis of the interviews show that turbofolk is still burdened with stereotypes, but is recognized as mainstream music among young people in Croatia. Moreover, it has been observed that the interlocutors associate their turbofolk-related daily media habits almost exclusively with digital media. In the context of turbofolk as a musical genre, they focused on the hybridization of genres and the influence of Western popular culture. For the interlocutors, turbofolk was also tied to night-time entertainment and alcohol consumption. An aversion to nationalism was noted, as well as a certain decline in social condemnation towards turbofolk listeners in everyday life. Finally, while they were critical of certain values that turbofolk promotes, the interlocutors considered it to be a musical genre that is a source of relaxation and entertainment.

Javni interes u audiovizualnoj industriji pojam je koji se definira na razne načine, a tiče se nacionalnih i europskih politika, unutar kojih je pravno reguliran. Definicije ovog pojma i primjene istih u praksi često su odraz šire slike načina djelovanja pojedinih javnih ustanova. Cilj ovog rada je stoga bio prepoznati različite definicije i prakse te, kroz polustrukturirane intervjue s predstavnicima organizacija koje sudjeluju u lancu audiovizualne proizvodnje, doći do zaključka o tome kako se razgovara o javnom interesu u javnim tijelima i kako se postupa prema dokumentarnom filmu. Provedena studija slučaja je uključivala tri organizacije: HAVC, HRT i DHFR. Javni interes, kada je riječ o dokumentarnom filmu, unutar ovih institucija se “na papiru” promatra na slične načine – objektivni kriteriji za ocjenjivanje kvalitete filmova ustanovljeni su na istim vrijednostima. Međutim, kada je riječ o HRT-u, proces odlučivanja je netransparentan, a Programsko vijeće zaduženo za javni interes nema gotovo nikakvog utjecaja na odlučivanje o dokumentarnom filmu. Dok neki javni televizijski servisi zarađuju od vlastitog dokumentarnog programa, HRT usmjerava sredstva namijenjena za audiovizualna (dokumentarna) djela prema ciljevima ostvarenja pojedinačnih interesa., Public interest in the audiovisual industry is a term that is defined in various ways, and concerns national and European policies, within which it is legally regulated. Definitions of this term and their application in practice are often a reflection of the broader picture of the ways in which certain public institutions operate. The aim of this paper was therefore to identify different definitions and practices and, through semi-structured interviews with representatives of organizations involved in the audiovisual production chain, to come to a conclusion on how public interest is discussed in public bodies and how documentary film is handled. The conducted case study included three organizations: HAVC, HRT and DHFR. The public interest, when it comes to documentary film, is observed in these institutions "on paper" in similar ways - objective criteria for assessing the quality of films are established on the same values. However, when it comes to HRT, the decision-making process is non-transparent, and the Program Council in charge of the public interest has almost no influence at all on the decision-making on the documentary. While some public television services make money from their own documentaries, HRT directs funds intended for audiovisual (documentary) works towards the goals of achieving individual interests.

Tjeskoba, strah, očajanje samo su neke od emocija s kojima se svakodnevno suočavaju ljudi, no rijetko smo realistično proživljavanje istih naviknuli gledati u animiranim serijama.Upravo su navedene emocije neke koje se mogu susresti kod likova sitcomaRick & Morty čiji je jedan od glavnih lajtmotiva besmisao života. Cilj diplomskog radabio je pronaći podudarnost između Camusovog apsurda, Sartreovog egzistencijalizma i serije Rick & Morty, što je i postignuto koristeći kritičku analizu diskurza kao istraživačku metodu. Postoji li filozofska utemeljenost između serije i navedenih teorija te kakva se skrivena kritika krije iza ovih dviju filozofija glavna su istraživačka pitanja diplomskog rada. Analizom je otkriveno dasu Camusove i Sartreove ideje itekako prisutne, a kritika religije, nepravde i pitanje smisla odrednice koje se mogu potvrditi u objema filozofijama te seriji. Iz četiri sezone, koliko ih je zasad prikazano, odabrane su sekvence iz kojih je potvrđenoutemeljenje u Camusovim i Sartreovim idejama. Analiza je potvrdila više podudarnosti između teorije apsurda i serije, no Sartreova prisutnost svakako nije zanemariva. Pojedini likovi serije shvaćaju besmisao života i zastrašujuću istinu da svemir nije briga postojimo li ili ne. Oni poručuju da si ne pridajemo preveliku važnost, zanemarujući da smo samo sitne čestice univerzuma koje svaki tren mogu nestati, već da se treba okrenuti vrijednim, nematerijalnim stvarima. Satira, paradoksi, ironija, karikaturiranjem svakodnevice postao je sastavni dio modernih animiranih crtića. Rick & Morty serija je koja kroz britki crni humor kritizira cijelo čovječanstvo zbog čega je važnost ovakvog medijskog sadržaja izuzetno značajna za razvoj kritičkog razmišljanja, na što ukazuje i ovaj diplomski rad., Anxiety, fear, and despair are only a few of the emotions people face every day, but rarely have we been able to see real encounters with them in animated shows. Said emotions are recognizable in the main characters of Rick & Morty, a show where one of the motives is the meaninglessness of life. The goal of this master thesis was to find the analogy between Camus' absurd, Sartre's existentialism, and the show Rick & Morty, which was accomplished by critical discourse analysis. My method of work has shown that these philosophies can all be found in the show. The two main questions this thesis tried to answer are: Is there a philosophical basis between the series and the theories mentioned, and also what kind of critique is hidden behind the two philosophies. The analysis shows that Camus' and Sartre's ideas are greatly present and that the critique of religion, injustice, and the question of sense are guidelines that can be confirmed both in the philosophies and in the series. In the four seasons that have been aired so far, I have chosen sequences that confirmed that the basis of the show's philosophy is in Camus' and Sartre's ideas. The analysis showed more analogies between the theory of the abused and the show, but Sartre's presence is not negligible. Some of the characters in the show understand the meaninglessness of life and the scary truth that the Universe doesn't care if they exist or not. They are trying to convey that we shouldn't give ourselves too much value, forgetting that we are only tiny fleeting particles in a vast Universe, rather turn to valuable, material matters. Satire, paradox, irony, cartooning everyday life has become the norm for contemporary animated shows. Rick & Morty is a show which critiques humankind through brisk, dark humor, which is why the importance of media content like this show is huge in order to develop critical thinking.

Razvoj tehnologije i digitalizacija medija dovodi nas do pojma medijskih generacija. Na stvaranje medijskih generacija utječe više faktora, primjerice povijesni događaji, okolina u formativnim godinama, ali i mediji koji u ranoj dobi oblikuju svjetonazor iako se ljudi prilagođavaju novim medijima. Medijske generacije su posljednjih godina sve češći predmet istraživanja koja su fokusirana na ponašanje i navike u korištenju medija s obzirom na to da se razvojem i pojavom novih medija mijenja i ponašanje publike. Cilj ovog rada bio je saznati koje je nove navike usvojila generacija koju se smatra digitalnom, koje uređaje najčešće koriste za praćenje medija te kako su se njihove navike mijenjale kroz vrijeme. Osim toga cilj je saznati i kako generacije vide mlađe i starije od sebe te što smatraju ključnim razlikama u načinu korištenja medija. Metodom fokus grupe u kojoj je sudjelovalo šest ispitanika (trojica muških i tri ženske) rođenih 1996.-1992. utvrđeno je da je Internet imao najvažniju ulogu u promjeni navika. Vrijeme provedeno uz medije veće je nego u djetinjstvu, a novi su uređaji (smartphone; laptop) osnovni uređaji za praćenje medijskog sadržaja. Unatoč tome, televizija ostaje važan medij ispitanoj generaciji. Nadalje, govoreći o razlikama među generacijama iz perspektive ispitanika, starija generacija usprkos usvajanju novih medija ostaje naklonjena tradicionalnim na koje su navikli, dok za mlađe generacije izražavaju zabrinutost zbog količine vremena koje provode uz tehnologiju. Ispitana generacija predstavlja prijelaznu generaciju između tradicionalne i nove medijske publike budući da nije usvojila sve navike nove publike. Iako usvajaju nove medije, u nekim prilikama preferiraju tradicionalne medije te posjeduju sjećanja kako je nekada bilo. Iako rezultate ne možemo poopćavati na cijelu generaciju, rad upućuje na potrebe za daljnja istraživanja navika medijskih generacija, kao i motive korištenja medija. The development of technology and media digitization brings us to the concept of media generations. The creation of media generations is influenced by several factors, such as historical events, the environment in the years of formation, but also the media that shapes the worldview at an early age, although people adapt to new media. In recent years, media generations have become an increasingly common subject of researches focused on behavior and habits in the use of media, given that the development and emergence of new media are changing the behavior of the audience. This paper aimed to find out what new habits have been adopted by the generation considered digital, which devices they most often use for media monitoring and how their habits have changed over time. Therewithal, the goal is to find out how generations see younger and older than themselves and what they consider to be the key differences in the way they use the media. The focus group method, in which six respondents (three male and three female) born in 1996-1999 participated, was used to determine that the internet has played the most important role in changing habits. Time spent consuming the media is greater than in childhood, and new devices (smartphones; laptops) are the basic devices for media monitoring. Nevertheless, television remains an important medium for the surveyed generation. Furthermore, speaking about the differences between the generations from the perspective of the respondents, the older generation, despite the adoption of new media, remains in favor of the traditional ones they are used to, while for the younger generations they express concern about the amount of time they spend on technology. The surveyed generation represents a transitional generation between traditional and new media audiences as they have not adopted all the habits of the new audience. Although they adopt new media, on some occasions they prefer traditional media that are already familiar to them. Although we cannot universalize the results to the whole generation, the paper points to the need for further research into the habits of media generations, as well as the motives for using the media.

Cilj ovog diplomskog rada bio je ispitati kako se prikazuju novinari u domaćim dramskim serijama Novine, Počivali u miru i Crno-bijeli svijet. Ove tri serije primjer su kvalitetnih televizijskih sadržaja koji se posljednjih godina sve češće javljaju u popularnoj kulturi. Znanstvenici se slažu da prikaz novinara u popularnoj kulturi može utjecati na kreiranje slike o ulozi novinara u društvu. Stoga televizijski sadržaji služe kao ključ za razumijevanje stvarnosti. Kriterij odabira bio je tematika. Naime, sve tri se u nekoj mjeri bave temom novinarstva u hrvatskoj pa tako tu profesiju prikazuju širokim masama gledatelja. Analizom narativa autorica je pokušala utvrditi kako se likovi novinara ponašaju u prikazanim situacijama te koje su im osobine. Na temelju toga, uspoređene su njihove karakteristike s tipologijom Briana McNaira koji likove novinara u američkim filmovima dijeli na heroje i zlikovce. Likovi promatranih serija uglavnom se ne mogu svrstati u jednu pod skupinu tih dviju podjela i većina ih posjeduje karakteristike koje ih svrstavaju u više tipova, dok je neke likove moguće svrstati i u heroje i u zlikovce. Kad su u pitanju ženski likovi, novinarke su rijetko prikazane na visokim funkcijama. Čak i kad jesu, jasno je da to nisu postigle zaslugama, već zakulisnim igrama., The main aim of this thesis was to examine how are journalists portrayed in the Croatian drama TV series Novine, Počivali u Miru, and Crno-bijeli svijet. These three series, for example, are quality television content that has been increasingly published in popular culture lately. Scholars agree that portraying journalists in popular culture can influence an image of the journalists in society. Therefore, television content serves as a key to understanding reality. All three of these series are dealing with the topic of journalism in Croatia, and they present the profession to a wide mass of viewers. By analyzing the narratives, the aim was to determine how the characters of the journalists behave in the presented situations and which are their characteristics. Based on that, the author compared those characteristics to Brian McNair’s typology that divides characters as heroes and villains. In conclusion, characters of the observed series generally cannot be classified into one subgroup of these two divisions and most of them can be categorized into multiple types, while some characters can be classified as both heroes and villains. When it comes to female characters, journalists are rarely portrayed in high positions. Even when they do, it is clear they did not deserve it by hard work, but behind-the-scenes games.

Sportašice su tradicionalno slabije zastupljene u medijskom prostoru u odnosu na sportaše. Također, istraživanja su dokazala kako se o ženskom sportu izvještava na drugačiji način nego o muškom, pa se tako sportašice često suočavaju sa seksizmom, a brojni članci o ženama u sportu izvještavaju u okvirima majčinstva i obitelji (Antunovic, 2017). Nekoliko je faktora koji utječu na podzastupljenost sportašica u javnom prostoru, a glavni od njih povezan je s ostacima patrijarhalnog uređenja iz prošlog stoljeća u određenim zemljama. Ovaj diplomski rad istražuje zastupljenost ženskog sporta i sportašica u Sportskim novostima od prvog broja 1945., do prosinca 2019. godine s ciljem provjere omjera muškog i ženskog sporta tijekom povijesti. Kvantitativnom analizom sadržaja analizirano je 4257 članaka objavljenih tijekom šest razdoblja unutar vremenskog raspona od 1945. do 2020. godine. Iako je tijekom razdoblja uočeno smanjenje „rodnog jaza“ u izvještavanju o sportašima i sportašicama, trend zastupljenosti sportašica većinom u kratkim formama sprječava napredak aktualnog procesa., Women have traditionally been under-represented in the media area in comparison to men. Also, researches have proven that when journalists report about women’s sport, they tend to do it in a different way. Thus, female athletes have to often deal with sexism, and many articles represent women through the frame of motherhood and family (Antunovic, 2017). Moreover, there are few factors that have an influence on the under-representation phenomenon in the public area, and the main factor is connected with the remains of the patriarchal arrangement in many countries, from the last century. This work is dealing with the representation of female sports in Sportske Novosti from the first edition in 1945 to December of 2019 in order to verify the ratio between female and male sport during history. Using quantitative content analysis, 4257 articles were analyzed which were published during six periods within a time span from 1945 to 2020. Although the gender gap in the coverage of female and male athletes was narrowed through the years, the trend of representation of women mostly in the short forms of news prevents the progress of the current process.

Istraživanje je napravljeno radi boljeg razumijevanja načina na koji ispitanice percipiraju medijski utjecaj i njegovu povezanost sa stvaranjem svijesti o sebi i svojem tijelu. Uz to što detaljno obrađuje glavnu temu, a to je uloga koju serija Keeping Up With the Kardashians i njezine glavne protagonistice imaju na stvaranje samopredodžbe i svijesti u vlastitom tijelu kod mladih djevojaka, u ovom radu obrađene su i druge srodne teme poput učestale promjene standarda ženske ljepote, sve strože medijske agende lijepog izgleda nametnute mladim ženama i posljedice dugoročnog izlaganja mladih celebrity utjecaju i drugom srodnom sadržaju. U njemu su korišteni brojni znanstveni članci i istraživanja koja se bave utjecajem medija na osobe u predadolescentskom i adolescentskom razdoblju te koje spadaju u skupinu „mladi odrasli“, promjenom standarda ženske ljepote i promjenom pojma „slava“ i „slavan“ (engl. Celebrity) kroz vrijeme te literatura potrebna za oformljavanje pitanja korištenih u polustrukturiranom dubinskom intervjuu na uzorku N=7, kod ispitanica u dobnom razredu 16-20. Glavni zaključci istraživanja ukazuju na važnost obitelji i neposredne okoline u interpretaciji medijskih poruka i stvaranje svijesti o vlastitom tijelu, ali i opasnosti koju donosi izlaganje određenom, naizgled nevinom, medijskom sadržaju. Na kraju, zaključak rada predlaže uvođenje tema estetske kirurgije, ideala ljepote i mentalnog zdravlja mladih u dnevnu agende javnog diskursa. Najveći doprinos rada je potencijalno osvješćivanje o šteti koju uzrokuje nekontrolirano izlaganje medijima, pogotovo kod članova društva koji još nisu svjesni njihovih potencijalnih utjecaja., The main purpose of the research conducted in this paper is to point out the long-term impression that the media representation of the female ideal leaves on young girls. The research was done to better understand the way respondents perceive media influence and its connection to the creation of awareness about themselves and their body. In addition to addressing the main theme, which is the role that the reality program „Keeping Up With the Kardashians“ and its main protagonists have in creating self-image and body awareness in young girls, this paper also addresses other related topics such as frequent changes in female beauty standards, increasingly strict agenda of desirable looks that the media imposes on young women, alongside with the consequence that long-term exposure of young people to celebrity culture and related content can cause. In order to display the results and conclusions effectively a number of scientific articles and research dealing with influence that the media has on people of pre-adolescent and adolescent age as well as young adults, literature that covers the topics of constant change of the female beauty standard and the concept of fame in company with the literature used to form the questions for the semi-structured in-depth interview on the sample N = 7, in the respondent in the age class 16-20 was used in this paper. The main conclusions of the research point to the importance of the family and the immediate environment in interpreting media messages and creating awareness of one's own body, but also the danger posed by exposure to certain, seemingly innocent, media content. Finally, the conclusion of the paper proposes the introduction of the topics of cosmetic surgery, the ideals of beauty and mental health of young people in the daily agenda of public discourse. The biggest contribution of the paper is the potential awareness of the damage caused by uncontrolled exposure to the media, especially among members of society who are not yet aware of their potential impacts.

Politička moć je danas dostupna ženama, ali ne u istoj mjeri kao i muškarcima. Cilj ovog rada jest prikazati kako korištenje stereotipa na hrvatskim news portalima umanjuje političku moć političarki. Prilikom istraživanja polazilo se od nekoliko hipoteza. Prva je prisutnost streotipa seksualnog objekta, majke, ljubimice i željezne dame na portalima. Osim toga, pretpostavljeno je da će najčešće korišteni stereotip biti onaj o seksualnoj objektifikaciji, a da će stereotip željezne dame biti najrjeđi. Također, pretpostavljeno je da će se navedeni stereotipi najčešće pojavljivati za vrijeme izvještavanja o Kolindi Grabar-Kitarović. Prilikom istraživanja korištene su metode kvantitativne analize sadržaja te analize diskursa. Analizom su obuhvaćeni portali Index.hr, 24sata.hr i Jutarnji.hr u vremenskom razdoblju od 1. rujna do 30. studenog 2018. godine. Istraživanjem je utvrđeno da su stereotipi doista prisutni prilikom izvještavanja o političarkama, ali se javljaju u različitim intenzitetima za pojedinu političarku. Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović se najčešće pojavljuje u člancima, te je također najčešće podvrgnuta stereotipnom izvještavanju., Political power is available to women novadays, but not in the same way as to their male counterparts. The goal of this analysis is to show how using stereotypes on croatian news sites decreases female politicians' political power. Several hypotheses were tested, such as presence of several stereotypes (sex object, mother, pet, the Iron Lady), and their varied frequency (sex object stereotype is the most common, while the Iron Lady stereotype is the least common). The research method used were contect and discourse analiysis. The analyzed period was between September 1st and November 30th, 2018., on portals Index.hr, 24sata.hr amd Jutarnji.hr. The analysis has show +n taht stereotypes are indeed present, but in various ratios for each politicians. The articles about Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović are the most prevalent, jsut as the stereotypes about her.

Nasilje nad ženama pojavljuje se neovisno o vremenskom i geografskom faktoru. Ono predstavlja najčešći oblik kršenja prava žena, a u Hrvatskoj je javnosti ratifikacija Istanbulske konvencije, čiji je primarni cilj poboljšati i unaprijediti mehanizme zaštite žena žrtava nasilja, izazvala burne reakcije i rasprave. Mediji imaju ključnu ulogu u formiranju mišljenja i stavova javnosti o pojedinim temama, a oblikovanjem i načinom prenošenja informacija mogu utjecati na svijest javnosti u pozitivnom ili negativnom kontekstu. Zbog toga je za analizu u ovom diplomskom radu za analizu odabrano šest hrvatskih portala: Index.hr, 24sata.hr, Jutarnji.hr, Net.hr, Tportal.hr i Večernji.hr. U analizi članaka objavljenih na navedenim portalima koji su izvještavali o Istanbulskoj konvenciji i njezinoj ratifikaciji u Hrvatskoj korištene su istraživačke metode kvantitativne i kvalitativne analize sadržaja te kvalitativna istraživačka metoda - analiza diskursa. Ukupno je analizirano 882 članaka u razdoblju od mjesec dana, od 13. ožujka 2018. do 13. travnja 2018., dana kada je ratificirana Istanbulska konvencija. Prije samog istraživanja postavljene su dvije glavne teze. Prva je da su odabrani portali o temi ratifikacije Istanbulske konvencije izvještavali pristrano na način da se u izvještavanju o temi moglo jasno razlučiti zalaže li se određeni portal za ratifikaciju Konvencije ili ne. Druga je teza bila da su ovi mediji o procesu ratifikacije Istanbulske konvencije izvještavali površno, bez sveobuhvatne analize uzroka i posljedica. Temeljni cilj provedenog istraživanja bio je ukazati na pristrano izvještavanje o procesu ratifikacije Istanbulske konvencije u Hrvatskoj. Provedenom analizom potvrđena je početna pretpostavka autorice, a to je da se hrvatski mediji uglavnom nisu bavili pravnim, društvenim i gospodarskim aspektima Konvencije i njezinom implementacijom, već sukobima oko njezine ratifikacije. Najviše pažnje u izvještavanju posvećeno je prenošenju izjava političara u kojima su jedne druge vrijeđali i prozivali zbog zalaganja ili protivljenja ratifikaciji Konvencije. U gotovo niti jednom članku nije se radilo na osvještavanju i senzibiliziranju javnosti za potrebe zlostavljanih žena te važnosti koju Konvencija ima za poboljšanje uvjeta života žrtava nasilja u obitelji. Ženska prava, uključujući medijski pristup nasilju nad ženama, još uvijek je podzastupljena tema koja na važnosti dobiva jedino kada se piše o stereotipnim situacijama, šokantnim zločinima ili u slučaju Istanbulske konvencije, raspravama političara. Potrebna je dodatna edukacija medijskih djelatnika kako bi s većom pažnjom i obzirom naučili pokrivati društveno osjetljive teme, a pogotovo teme nasilja nad ženama. Samo kvalitetnim izvještavanjem o temama, što uključuje analitičnost, sveobuhvatnost, uključivanje više različitih izvora informiranja i pluralnost mišljenja, novinari mogu dostaviti potpunu priču koja će za njihovu publiku osiminformacijske, imati i edukacijsku vrijednost., Violence against women occurs regardless of the chronological and geographical factor. It is the most common form of violation of women's rights. In Croatia ratification of the Istanbul Convention, whose primary goal was to improve and enhance mechanisms for the protection of women victims of violence, provoked strong reactions and discussions among public. The media play a key role in forming the opinions and attitudes of the public on specific issues, and with designing and forming information in a specific way, media can influence public awareness in a positive or negative way. Therefore, for the analysis in this thesis were chosen six Croatian websites: Index.hr, 24sata.hr, Jutarnji.hr, Net.hr, Tportal.hr and Večernji.hr. In the analysis of articles published on these websites, which were reporting on the Istanbul Convention and its ratification in Croatia, were used research methods of quantitative and qualitative content analysis and qualitative research method - discourse analysis. In the period from 13th March to 13th April, day when Istanbul Covention was voted by government, resarcher analyzed a total of 882 articles. Before the resarch, the resarcher set up two main theses. The first thesis was that the chosen websites were biased during covering stories about the ratification process in a way that the reader could clearly see was the website for the ratification of the document or not. Second thesis was that the media on the process of ratification reported superficially and without a comprehensive analysis of cause and effect. The basic objective of the study was to point out the biased reporting on the process of ratification of the Istanbul Convention in Croatia. The analysis confirmed the initial assumption of the author and that is that the Croatian media generally did not address the legal, social and economic aspects of the Convention and its implementation, but conflicts over its ratification. Most attention in the coverage media devoted to the reporting of political statements and politicians insulting one another or calling for commitment or opposition to the ratification. Almost no one worked on raising awareness and sensitizing the public to the needs of abused women or the importance of the Convention for improvement the living conditions of victims of domestic violence. Women's rights, including media approach to violence against women, are still under-represented themes of importance, which get attention only when writing about stereotypical situations, shocking crimes or in the case of the Istanbul Convention, discussions of politicians. It takes additional training of media professionals so they can with awareness and respect cover socially sensitive issues, especially violence against women. Only with high-quality reporting on issues, including analytical skills, comprehensiveness, inclusion of multiple sources of information and the plurality of opinion, journalists can submit a complete story that will for their audience have, not only informational, but educational value.

Ovo etnografsko istraživanje želi dublje razumjeti medijsku upotrebu i izravnu komunikaciju medijske publike u javnim prostorima. Sve većom dostupnošću i razvojem tehnologije u suvremenim društvima, mediji su nam svugdje i uvijek dostupni pa tako i na gradskim trgovima. Zbog nedovoljne istraženosti upotrebe medija u javnim prostorima općenito, ovaj rad pokušava razumjeti načine upotrebe medija i značenja koja im medijska publika pridaje u okolnostima javnog prostora kao što su gradski trgovi, ali i načine isprepletenosti izravne komunikacije s komunikacijom na daljinu i drugim oblicima upotrebe medija. Važnost trgova i mobilnih uređaja u društvenom suvremenom životu isprepliću se u ovom etnografskom istraživanju koje je provedeno na dva zagrebačka trga, Trgu bana Josipa Jelačića i Trešnjevačkom trgu, a za koji su bitni i provedeni etnografski intervjui. Ova studija otkriva kako urbani pješaci na gradskim trgovima koriste medije kao vrstu izolacije od fizičkog okruženja, ali češće dolazi do oblika odsutne pristutnosti ili izvjesnog osjećaja mjesta, nego do potpune izolacije. Isto tako, važan nalaz ovog rada je i u činjenici da izravna komunikacija na gradskim trgovima često biva isprepletena s istovremenom upotrebom medija, prvenstveno mobilnih uređaja. Zaključujem kako je upotreba medija ukorijenjena u načine habitacije gradskih trgova, ali i kako je izravna komunikacija vrlo bitna za vrijeme sastajanja parova i grupa na prostorima dvaju zagrebačkih trgova., This ethnographic study aims to better understand how media audiences use media and face-to-face communication in public space. With the growing availability and fast development of new technologies in contemporary societies, we are witnessing the ubiquity of media in city squares, among other settings. Due to the lack of research around the topic of media in public spaces in general, this project explores media usage and meanings given to it by media audiences in public spaces such as city squares. This study will also discover the interweaving nature of media use, such as communication with absent others, and face-to-face communication. The importance of city squares and mobile phones in contemporary social life are central points of this ethnographic study undertaken in two city squares in Zagreb, Croatia – Ban Josip Jelačić Square and Trešnjevački Square. With the help of field notes and ethnographic qualitative interviews, this study confirms that urban pedestrians use media as a means of isolation from physical surroundings, but that it is more often solely a form of absent presence or a form of a certain sense of place rather than complete isolation. Moreover, another important finding of this research is the fact that face-to-face communication is frequently immediate with media usage, primarily mobile phone usage. I conclude that media usage is rooted in the forms of habitation in city squares, just as face-to-face communication is of great value to pair and group meetings in spaces of two Zagreb squares.

Ovo etnografsko istraživanje želi dublje razumjeti medijsku upotrebu i izravnu komunikaciju medijske publike u javnim prostorima. Sve većom dostupnošću i razvojem tehnologije u suvremenim društvima, mediji su nam svugdje i uvijek dostupni pa tako i na gradskim trgovima. Zbog nedovoljne istraženosti upotrebe medija u javnim prostorima općenito, ovaj rad pokušava razumjeti načine upotrebe medija i značenja koja im medijska publika pridaje u okolnostima javnog prostora kao što su gradski trgovi, ali i načine isprepletenosti izravne komunikacije s komunikacijom na daljinu i drugim oblicima upotrebe medija. Važnost trgova i mobilnih uređaja u društvenom suvremenom životu isprepliću se u ovom etnografskom istraživanju koje je provedeno na dva zagrebačka trga, Trgu bana Josipa Jelačića i Trešnjevačkom trgu, a za koji su bitni i provedeni etnografski intervjui. Ovaj rad analizira korištenje tabua i svjetski poznatih simbola u anime serijama. Istraživanjem se također htjelo dokazati da su anime serije namijenjene širokoj populaciji, a ne samo djeci. Analiza narativa je korištena za analizu uvodne špice anime serija Death Note i Death Parade. Analizirano je nekoliko elemenata narativa: boje, simboli, intertekstualnost i tabui. Analizirane anime serije sklone su korištenju brojnih simbola povezanih sa smrću. Zbog toga direktni prikaz smrti nije nužan. Neki od tih simbola su: crne ptice, crna mačka, križ, crvena jabuka i lutke. Teme vezane uz smrt i razni vjerski simboli nisu tipični elementi dječjih serija. To znači da anime serije Death Note i Death Parade nisu usmjerene veoma mladoj djeci., This study explores the usage of taboos and world renowned symbols in anime shows. This research also wanted to prove that anime shows are targeted to the wide population, and not just kids. Narrative analysis is used to analyse opening credits of Death Note and Death Parade anime shows. A couple of narative elements have been analysed: colors,symbols, intertextuality and taboos. Analysed anime shows tend to use numerous death related symbols. That is why direct display of death is not necessary. Some of those symbols are: black birds, black cat, cross, red apple and dummies. Death related themes and various religious symbols are not typical elements of a children's show, which means Death Note and Death Parade anime shows are not targeted to very young children. U ovom radu provodi se istraživanje grafita koji se nalaze na Ozaljskoj i Tratinskoj ulici u naselju Trešnjevka, grad Zagreb. Te dvije ulice spajaju periferni dio grada s centralnim djelom grada te na njima možemo uočiti razliku između tematike grafita koji su bliže periferiji i koji su bliže centru. Istraživačkom šetnjom analiziraju se grafiti političkih, društvenih, kulturnih, nacionalističkih i navijačkih tematika, koji se na tom području neprestano iznova pojavljuju iako bivaju brisani intervencijom građana. Ti natpisi izravan su govor mržnje i povezani su s povijesnim aspektima Hrvatske i Zagreba. Navijačka skupina Bad Blue Boys i njeni javni istupi također imaju poveznicu s natpisima koji se pojavljuju te se ona može iščitati iz simbolike i tematike grafita. Ovim istraživanjem uočavamo kako postoji jasna razlika između periferije i centra u kontekstu grafita koji se nalaze u Ozaljskoj i Tratinskoj ulici., In this work we are researching graffiti which are placed on Ozaljska and Tratinska street in Trešnjevka, Zagreb City. Those two streets are connecting the periphery and the centre of the city and it is possible to notice the differences between the themes of the graffiti which are near the periphery and the themes of the graffiti which are near the centre of the city. Through a research walk graffiti of various themes (political, social, cultural, national and football fan themes) are being observed and analysed. Those graffiti are directly referring to hate which is connected to the history of Croatia and Zagreb city. Fans of Dinamo football team, Bad Blue Boys, and their public acts are also connected to the graffiti which appear wich is understood by the symbolic and the themes of the graffiti. Through this research it is possible to notice that there is a clear difference between the periphery and the centre of the city in the context of graffiti which are placed on Ozaljska and Tratinske street in Zagreb.

Turbofolk je postao jedan od najpopularnijih glazbenih žanrova u Hrvatskoj. Kao i u ostatku Hrvatske, većina dubrovačkih lokala nudi takvu vrstu zabave. Dubrovnik je specifičan po tome što je grad kulture i poznata turistička destinacija. Mladi u Dubrovniku uz ograničenu ponudu zabavnog sadržaja oblikuju svoj identitet kroz žanr koji je unatoč povijesno političkim situacijama i zabranama opstao u gradu koji se svim silama trudi odbaciti balkanski identitet. Rad nastoji razumjeti okolnosti i uvjete pod kojima je turbofolk postao dominantna kultura u Dubrovniku kao i životne stilove mladih ljudi iz Dubrovnika koji sudjeluju u turbofolk kulturi., Turbo-folk has become one of the most popular music genres in Croatia. Like in the rest of Croatia, the vast majority of Dubrovnik clubs offer the same kind of entertainment. Dubrovnik is a specific town because it is a city of culture and a well known tourist destination. With a limited supply of the entertainment events, Young people of Dubrovnik have to shape their identity through the genre which subsisted in the city which is heavily trying to reject it´s Balkan identity. This Paper is seeking to understand the conditions and circumstances which made Turbo-folk the dominant culture in Dubrovnik as well as the lifestyles of the Dubrovnik youth involved in Turbo-folk culture.

Kao glavno pitanje postavlja se na koji način je marketinški tim filma uspio napraviti ovako jedinstvenu i nadasve uspješnu „low budget“ kampanju, a cilj ovoga rada je da približi i potanko objasni te objedini metode i kanale koji su se koristili u promociji.Rad se sastoji od dva glavna dijela, a to su opći dio u kojem se definiraju ključni pojmovi i marketinški potezi te dijela s analizom u kojem se secira marketinška kampanja vezana uz ovaj film i njegovoj glavnog lika. Glavni razlog uspjeha marketinga čak nije bio u tako riskantnom načinu predstavljanja publici, koliko u tome da je grupa ljudi zadužena za promociju, uz glavnog glumca, na specifičan način iskoristila starije kanale oglašavanja, društvene mreže, komunikacijske kanale te su film čak promovirali na načine koji su bili nezamislivi na području promocije jednog filma sa superjunakom ili filma općenito, što ćemo u ovom radu dokazati radeći analizu slučaja koristeći materijale službenih kanala i društvenih mreža vezanih uz promociju filma Korištenjem analize slučaja, dotaknuti su svi aspekti na temelju kojih je film Deadpool imao toliko uspješnu marketinšku kampanju da je nadmašila i sam film. Za razumjeti i objasniti zašto je Deadpoolov marketinški tim postupao na određene načine u navedenim situacijama te što su bili ciljevi pojedinih kampanja iziskuje analizu pozadinske priče Deadpoola kao lika i njegovih stvaralaca, a tek nakon toga se može adekvatno odraditi studija slučaja objedinjujući razne metode koje su se koristile u jednu cjelinu. Zahvaljujući internetu sve relevantne informacije su nadohvat ruke, uključujući Marvelove službene stranice i drušvene mreže, fotografije, statistike, videozapise, izjave i slično. To understand and explain why Deadpool's marketing team worked in certain ways in the situations mentioned and what the goals of individual campaigns required, it is necessary to analyze Deadpool's background story as a character and its creators, and only then can case studies be done adequately by combining various methods used in one whole. Due to the high availability of content, marketing teams engaged in movie promotion have a growing and demanding task in achieving the success of a marketing campaign. Ovaj rad otkriva relaciju slike tijela i sportskih oglasa u tiskovini. Ispitanici su muški studenti, budući da postoji većina istraživanja o ženskoj slici tijela. Glavno istraživačko pitanje bilo je: je li sportski heroj iz sportskih oglasa uzrokovao nezadovoljstvo tijelom. Anketom i fokus grupom ustanovljeno je da sportski heroj ne potiče nezadovoljstvo tijelom. Ispitanici imaju jake slike tijela i zadovoljni su svojim izgledom, koji im je važan. Iako tiskovine čitaju, ne primjećuju oglase toliko često. Međutim, sportskog heroja primjete i privlači ih njegov izgled. On je uzor i motivacija, a ako ga predstavlja poznato lice, ispitanici bi rado bili poput njega te se poistovjećuju sa njime., This paper reveals the relationship between body image and sport adverts in the press. Respondents are male students, because there is most research about the female body image. The main research question was: Did the sports hero from the sports ads cause discontent with the body. The survey and the focus group found that a sports hero does not encourage body dissatisfaction. Respondents have strong body images and are happy with their appearance, whitch is important to them. Though they read print press, they do not notice ads so often. However, a sports hero can notice and attract their looks. It is a role model and motivation, and if it is a familiar face, the respondents would like to be like him and indentify with him.

Društveni mediji sastavni su dio života mnogih ljudi, naročito mlade populacije koja se internetom pa i društvenim medijima vrlo često koristi. Kako bi išli u korak s vremenom, političari su svoje programe prenijeli i u virtualni svijet, pa se velika većina njih koristi i društvenim medijima da bi se približili javnosti. Društveni mediji za njih su korisniji i adekvatniji pristup jer na taj način djeluju bez posredništva tradicionalnih medija, već se izravno obraćaju publici. Populistički političari poznati su po iznimno dobrom snalaženju na društvenim medijima gdje okupljaju sve veći broj simpatizera i pratitelja. U ovom radu dokazano je da mladi simpatiziraju populističke političare i stranke u većoj mjeri nego tradicionalne političare i stranke. Provedena anketa dokazala je i povezanost između rasta popularnosti populističkih političara i stranaka i njihova aktivnog korištenja društvenih medija među mladom populacijom. Analiza odabranih scena u filmovima “Metastaze” i “ZG80” poslužila je kao podloga za istraživanje utjecaja nedovršenosti tranzicije na mlade u Hrvatskoj. Likovi su pripadnici tzv. skeptične generacije, koju opisuje Tomić-Koludrović. Radi se o mladima koji su se devedesetih godina našli između dvaju suprotnih procesa: s jedne strane profesionalna i politička socijalizacija koje su pod utjecajem sve jače standardizacije, a s druge strane postmodernizacijski oblici ponašanja i nepristajanje na ostvarenje ideala tradicionalne odraslosti. Osim generacijski, filmovi su povezani i snažnim motivima grada koji ne služi samo kao mjesto radnje, već i kao dodatna karakterizacija likova. Uz važnu ulogu prostora, bitna karakteristika likova je i činjenica da pripadaju navijačkoj subkulturi. Uspoređujući film “Metastaze” s prednastavkom “ZG80” u radu, pomoću analize narativa, zaključujem da su autori filmova pojačali balkanski stereotip, zajedno s konfliktima između “mi-grupa” i “oni-grupa”. Potvrdila se i teza o izgubljenim mladima u tranziciji kojima je autor dao jedini izlaz - bijeg u kriminal., Results of analysing sequences of the films “Metastaze” and “ZG80” has been used as base for researching the effects that unfinished transitions in society have on young people in Croatia. The main charachters are a part of so called “sceptical generation”, which is a term described by Tomić-Koludrović. People who grew up in that kind of generation were in a middle of two polar processes. On the one hand there was a need for professionalization and on the other hand there was emersion called “extended youth” which means that ideals of traditional “growing up” has been more and more questioned. Other than that, films are connected in strong motives of the city, which serves the function of characterization of the characters. Apart from that, all characters are sports fans. One of my conclusions, after analyzing the films, is that the authors of the films amplified stereotypes of Balkan area and the only way they gave young people, who are in transition in Croatia, a better chance in life is by committing crimes.

Komunikacija identiteta Švedske u Hrvatskoj pitanje je kojim se bavi ovaj diplomski rad. Rad je koncipiran kao deskriptivna studija slučaja s četiri uklopljene jedinice analize; Veleposlanstvo Kraljevine Švedske u Zagrebu, Švedskim institutom, IKEA-om Hrvatska te Udrugom hrvatsko-švedskog prijateljstva Aurora. Glavni izvori informacija u izradi ove studije bili su fokusirani intervjui s predstavnicima pojedinih jedinica analize te dokumentacija dostupna na Internetu. Provedbom istraživanja možemo zaključiti da je komunikacija švedskog identiteta u Hrvatskoj pomno planirana te da je usklađena s temeljnim vrijednostima brenda Švedske, definiranim od Švedskog instituta. Osim toga, kroz rad su utvrđene i promjene u nositeljima javne diplomacije. Obzirom da je riječ o deskriptivnoj studiji, ovaj rad može poslužiti kao početna točka za naredna i detaljnija istraživanja ove teme., The main aim of this master thesis is to analyze communication of Sweden's identity in Croatia. The thesis is designed as a case study with four separated entities; Swedish Institute, Swedish Embassy in Zagreb, IKEA Croatia and The Croatan-Swedish friendship association Aurora. Several conclusions could be drawn from this study; among them is the fact that communication of Sweden’s identity in Croatia is coordinated with brand core values. Besides, there are significant changes in the actors of public diplomacy. Despite limitations, this case study could be a valuable resource for some further researches.

Turizam je rastuća i najvažnija gospodarska grana u Hrvatskoj. Rad istražuje odnose s javnošću luksuznog hotelskog lanca u praksi kako bi se stručnjaci za odnose s javnošću upoznali sa zahtjevima i praktičnom primjenom svojih znanja u takvom okruženju. Kroz dubinske intervjue s direktorima odjela odnosa s javnošću i ljudskih potencijala dolazi do detaljnog uvida u sve aspekte unutarnje i vanjske komunikacije jedne hotelske kompanije. Jadranski luksuzni hoteli uglavnom rade u skladu s međunarodnom praksom, uspješno komunicirajući sa stranim tržištima i lokalnom zajednicom te koristeći i unaprjeđujući adute poput sjajne lokacije koristeći se destinacijskim menadžmentom. Rad je važan i jer se odnosi na lokalni hotelski lanac, po pitanju kojih ne postoji mnogo literature., Tourism is a growing and the most important branch of industry in Croatia. The essay researches public relations of a luxury hotel chain in practice so public relations experts can get acquainted with the demands and practical application of their knowledge in such surroundings. Through in-depth interviews with public relations and human resources managers, we get a detailed view of all aspects of internal and external communications of a hotel company. Adriatic luxury hotels mostly work according to international practice, successfully communicating with foreign markets and the local community, using and improving on their advantages such as their great location by using destination management. The essay is also relevant because it concerns a local hotel chain, a topic rarely covered by professional literature.

Brendiranje gradova i destinacija je važan proces koji se već godinama uvelike razlikuje od brendiranja države. Dok se država brendira kao cjelina, brendiranje gradova fokusira se na posebnosti manje geografske jedinice. Brendiranje gradova može utjecati na reputaciju gradova unutar iste države, regije ili na međunarodnoj sceni. Ovaj rad obuhvaća pojmove vezane za brendiranje gradova s naglaskom na New York koji je već desetljećima jedan od najjačih gradskih brendova. Analiza kreće od općenitih pojmova o načinu bredniranja gradova, kriterijima koji se uzimaju u obzir kada se promatra vrijednost brenda i usporedbu s drugim poznatim primjerima uspješnog bredniranja gradova i manjih država poput Novog Zelanda. Također jedno od poglavlja posvećeno je osvrtu na američku kulturu i utjecaj kroz kulturnu industriju, s posebnim naglaskom na filmsku industriju. Rad se potom osvrće na prve marketinške kampanje koje su provedene sedamdesetih godina prošlog stoljeća, s osvrtom na povijest grada i stvaranjem logotipa I ♥ New York koji je do dan danas ostao najpoznatiji logotip grada na svijetu. Izuzev toga, rad obuhvaća i kratku povijest kazališne industrije i ulice Broadway koja je igrala bitnu ulogu u kulturnoj industriji grada. Analitički dio se sastoji od analize filmova i tv serija koje su smještene u New Yorku, pregleda najpoznatijih lokacija te usporedbom broja filmova snimljenih u New Yorku u odnosu na druge lokacije u svijetu. Zaključak rada jest da je New York usprkos tome što je relativno mlad grad bez prirodnih i povijesnih znamenitosti uspio zauzeti visoko mjesto na svjetskoj ljestvici destinacija s najjačim gradskim brendom., Cities and destination branding has become important process and in past few years it greatly differs from state brading. While country branding refers to a country as a one unit, cities and destinations branding focuses on one particular geographical unit. Cities branding can influence one city's reputation among cities in the same country, region or on international scale. This paper explains topics connected to the city branding with ephasis on New York which has, for decades had one of the strongest cities brands. The analysis starts from general concepts that define city branding, criteria which are taken into consideration when defining city brand value, and comparment to other succesfull projects of cities and smaller states branding, one of which is New Zeland. Also, one of the chapters reviews american culture and it's influence trough strog cultural industry with special emphasis on film industry. Further analysis in the paper is after focused on the first marketing campaigns that were started back in the 1970's, with research of the city's history and creation of I ♥New York logo, which has, to this day remained most famous logo belonging to one city. Above that, the paper contains short review of the history of the theather industry and Broadway street which has had major role in shaping city's cultral industry. Analytical part is made of analysis focused on observing movies and tv shows set in New York, overview of most famous location and compairment of number of movies filmed in New York and other cities. The conclusion of the whole paper is that New York, despite being relatively young city, succeded in becoming one of the world's most famous city brands.

Rad istražuje proces medijatizacije u rurbanim gradskim područjima, polazeći od specifičnog empirijskog slučaja trgovačkog centra 'Meridijan 16' u zagrebačkom naselju Gračani. Istraživanjem se interpretiraju lokalne specifičnosti i fenomeni u kontekstu povijesnog, društvenog i globalnog razvoja, odnosno promjena. Rezultati analize ukazuju na nastojanje da se urbanizacijom Gračana Zagreb prilagodi i poveže s globalnom tržišnom mrežom prenamjenom lokalnih resursa i infrastrukture. S druge strane, lokalno stanovništvo strategijama participativne aproprijacije perpetuira rurbani identitet, odupirući se tako agendama modernizacije., This paper explores the process of mediatization in rurban spaces, based on a specific empirical case of the shopping center Meridijan 16 in the Gračani neighborhood of Zagreb. The research is focused on interpretations of local specificities and phenomena in the context of historical, social and global development and transformation. The results of the analysis indicate that the urbanization of Gračani is a mean for the city of Zagreb to adjust and connect to global market networks by transforming local resources and infrastructures. On the other hand, the local population's strategies of participatory appropriation perpetuate the rurban identity, thus resisting the agendas of modernization.

Ovaj rad opisuje prvenstveno duh rave scene koja je ušla na velika vrata u Zagreb početkom devedesetih godina. Nudi se povijesni pregled i pozadina rave supkulture; fokus rada je na glazbenim pravcima, plesu kao sastavnom dijelu scene i načinu ekspresije. U radu se prikazuju zaključci etnografskog istraživanja (osobno sudjelovanje s promatranjem) u kombinaciji s intervjuima osoba koje posjećuju rave partije. Cilj rada je prikazati promjene unutar scene nakon procesa tranzicije i pružiti nova saznanja o zagrebačkoj undergound sceni., This thesis primarily describes the spirit of the scene that made a great entrance in Zagreb in the early 1990s. It provides a historical overview and background of rave subculture; the main focus is on music subgenres and dance as an integral part of the subculture and the way of expression. This thesis presents conclusions of ethnographic research combined with interviews with people that are involved in party scene. The aim of the thesis is to show overall process within the scene after the transition and to provide new insights into the underground scene in Zagreb.

Zbog činjenice da je koncept festivalizacije u akademskoj literaturi najčešće uklopljen unutar sheme koja se tiče velikih gradova, ovaj rad pristupa problemu kroz perspektivu manjeg grada, točnije Velike Gorice, koja se danas smatra svojevrsnim zagrebačkim satelitom. Grad je pritom prebrodio tranziciju iz industrijalizma u post-industrijalizam, no izostao je rad na ekonomiji iskustva kao ključnom rješenju pri razvoju kulturnih politika. Stoga je u fokusu istraživanja alternativni kulturni proizvođač GAS (Gorička alternativna scena), koji je dijelom niknuo iz pojedinih subkultura, sa svrhom otkrivanja njegovog mogućeg utjecaja na gradske revitalizacijske procese. Glavni sadržaj istraživanja je spomenuta volonterska udruga te dva festivala pod njihovom nadležnošću koji, putem pojačane građanske participacije i distribucije alternativnih kulturnih sadržaja (grafiterstvo, slam poezija), do određene mjere utječu na kulturni imidž grada, ali i na život lokalne zajednice. Također, cilj rada je bio i proanalizirati organizacijsku perspektivu koja daje uvid u to na koji način jedna neprofitna udruga može doprinijeti regeneraciji svoje urbane sredine, ali i prikazuje probleme s kojima se suočavaju, ponajprije na relaciji s gradskim vlastima. Određeni napredak postoji, no rezultati istraživanja pokazuju da ključ daljnjih revitalizacijskih napora leži u kvalitetnoj komunikaciji između svih lokalnih aktera, ali i u kontinuiranom radu na poboljšanju festivalske i kulturne ponude., Since the concept of festivalisation in the academic literature is usually incorporated within the scheme concerning big cities, this paper approaches the problem through the perspective of a small town, namely Velika Gorica, which is now regarded as kind of a Zagreb's sattelite. The city survived the transition from industrialism to post-industrialism, but there hasn't been much work on the experience economy as a key decision in the development of cultural policies. Therefore, the focus of this research is alternative cultural producer named GAS (Gorica's alternative scene), which partly emerged from certain subcultures with the aim of discovering its potential impact on the urban revitalization process. The main content of the research is previously mentioned voluntary association and two festivals under their jurisdiction which, through increased civic participation and distribution of alternative cultural events (graffiti, slam poetry), to a certain extent affect the cultural image of the city, but also the local community. Also, the aim of the study was to analyze the organisational perspective, which gives an insight into how one non-profit organization can contribute to the regeneration of its urban environment, but also shows problems they face, particularly in relation to the city authorities. Some progress is visible, but the results show that the key to further revitalizing efforts lies in the quality communication between all the local participants, but also in the continuing effort to improve festival and cultural offer.

Ovaj rad istražuje percepciju Hrvatske kao zemlje Balkana iz perspektive stranih studenata i studentica na razmjeni. Istraživanje se temelji na konstituiranju identiteta balkanske regije koja se shvaća kao odrednica hrvatskog nacionalnog prostora. Spomenuta povezanost upućuje na značenjske borbe u koje su uključeni i studenti i studentice na razmjeni. Kroz pojmove orijentalizma, koji implicitno nagovještava i pojmove balkanizma, te okcidentalizma, istražuje se način uspostavljanja odnosa moći na području Europe. Intervjuirani studenti i studentice, iako često nesvjesno, unatoč susretu sa novom okolinom perpetuiraju već postojeće predrasude o Balkanu, ne dovodeći u pitanje hegemonijske odnose. Kroz stalne borbe oko značenja pokušava se uspostaviti identitet Balkana kao regije i Hrvatske kao zemlje između Balkana i Europe., This paper explores the perception of Croatia as a country of the Balkans from the perspective of foreign exchange students. The research is based on the constitution of the identity of the Balkan region, which is understood as a determinant of Croatian national space. The mentioned linkage refers to struggles over meanings in which exchange students are involved. Through the notions of Orientalism, which implies the notions of Balkanism and Occidentalism, establishing a relationship of power in Europe is explored. Interviewed students, albeit often unconsciously, and despite encountering new environment, perpetuate existing prejudices about the Balkans, without questioning the hegemonic relationships. Through the constant struggle over meaning, the identity of the Balkans as a region and Croatia as a country between the Balkans and Europe is being established.

Ovaj rad nastoji objasniti „fingirajuću narav“ medija kako bi se osvijestila potreba za kritičko-analitičkim pristupom medijskom tekstu, imajući na umu da on nije i ne može biti društvena reprezentacija stvarnosti. Medijski diskursi ne nastaju u socijalno-kulturološkom vakuumu, na njihovo stvaranje utječu mnogi stavovi, interesi, socio-demografske prilike, političke i kulturne vrijednosti. U ovom diplomskom radu, koristeći metode analize narativa i analize diskursa, analizirano je dvadeset i četiri emisija Plodovi zemlje, najdugovječnije i jedne od najgledanijih emisija Hrvatske radiotelevizije koju u prosjeku prati više od 10 % opće populacije u Hrvatskoj. Cilj rada bio je otkriti postojanje ideoloških sklonosti uređivačke politike emisije Plodovi zemlje te doprinijeti razumijevanju medijskog teksta kao društvene konstrukcije. Istraživačka pitanja koja sam postavila uključivala su prepoznavanje glavnih aktera, sukoba i tema te ideoloških naklonosti u emisiji – ukratko prepoznavanje i interpretiranje diskursa koji su istaknuti u emisiji Plodovi zemlje. Istraživanje je pokazalo veliku neuravnoteženost u izvještavanju o temama, kao i određene ideološke sklonosti i nesklonosti., This thesis seeks to explain the "deceptive nature" of the media in order to address the need for critical and analytical approach to the media text. Media text is not and cannot be a social representation of reality. Media discourses are not made in the socio-cultural vacuum; their production is influenced by many interests, socio-demographic context, political and cultural values. Using the method of narrative analysis and discourse analysis, I had analyzed twenty-four shows – Plodovi zemlje, one of the most popular and long-lasting agricultural show on public broadcast service Hrvatska radiotelevizija – HTV. More than 10% of the general population in Croatia is part of the average share. The aim of the study was to reveal the existence of ideological preferences in editorial policy of the TV show – Plodovi zemlje and also to contribute to the understanding of media texts as a social construction of reality. Research questions included the identification of the main characters, conflict and agendas, but also the ideological bias in the show – recognition and interpretation of discourse that was emerged into the TV show. The survey showed a large imbalance in coverage, as well as certain ideological tendencies and reluctance.

Ovaj diplomski rad istražuje stereotipiziran prikaz žena u bollywoodskim filmovima. Istraživanje se temelji na analizi deset suvremenih komercijalnih bollywoodskih filmova. Metodom analize narativa nastoji se utvrditi na koji način su žene iz patrijarhalnog društva Indije prikazane na filmu. Istraživanje je pokazalo da su junakinje portretirane tradicionalnim prikazom ženskosti, tj. u skladu s načelima patrijarhata, u području fizičkog izgleda, ljubavi i odnosu s obitelji. One su također prikazane kao seksualni objekti ljepote i žrtve nasilja. Napredak je vidljiv u tome što su ženski likovi prikazani kao obrazovani, odlučni i samostalniji. Može se izvesti zaključak da junakinje dobivaju sve veću važnost na filmskom platnu. Unatoč tome što im hinduistička tradicija uređuje život, žene imaju veće slobode na filmu. Vrlo su vrijedna istraživanja koja pokazuju razvoj ženskog lika na filmu jer se njima ukazuje na nemilosrdnu negativnu reprezentaciju žena kojoj konačno treba stati na kraj., This thesis discusses the stereotyped representation of women in Bollywood movies. The study is based on an analysis of ten commercial Bollywood films. I wanted to determine how the women in the patriarchal society of India are presented in movies, by using the analysis of narrative. The research has shown that the heroines are portrayed traditional, in harmony with the principles of patriarchy, in the area of physical appearance, love and respect to the family. They are also presented as sex objects of beauty and victims of violence. The progress is evident in the fact that the female characters are shown as educated, determined and more independent. It can be concluded that the heroines are gaining increasing importance on the big screen. Despite their Hindu traditional way of life, women have more freedom in the film. The studies that explore the development of the female characters in the film are very valuable because they show the cruel negative representation of women which finally needs to disappear.

Rad istražuje kakav je prikaz mladih u suvremenom francuskom filmu. Temelji se na analizi deset francuskih filmova nastalih u razdoblju između 2000. i 2015. godine u kojima su protagonisti adolescenti. Radi se o coming-of-age filmovima koji prikazuju psihološki i moralni razvitak glavnih likova koji su na prelasku iz mladosti u odraslo doba. Prije same analize, rad donosi pregled razvoja francuskog filma, od braće Lumière koja su izumila kinematograf pa do suvremenog francuskog filma koji se analizira u radu. Istraživanje je pokazalo kako je dominantna tema u analiziranim suvremenim francuskim filmovima seksualnost. Mladi često promišljaju o navedenoj temi što ne čudi s obzirom da tek počinju razumijevati taj koncept te ispitivati svoj položaj u navedenom polju. Prilikom analize, adolescencija se pokazala kao turbulentno razdoblje u životu zbog čestih konflikata u koje mladi ulaze osjećajući se neshvaćeno. Sukobljavaju se najčešće u školi, s kolegama i profesorima, nakon čega slijede prepirke unutar obitelji. Svoje probleme i konflikte mladi rješavaju na različite načine, nerijetko izabirući bijeg kao najlakše rješenje. Kao krajnji način suočavanja s problemima neki odabiru samoubojstvo., The paper examines the representation of youth in contemporary French cinema. Research is based on an analysis of ten French films made between 2000 and 2015 in which protagonists are adolescents. These are coming-of-age movies that show the psychological and moral development of the main characters who are on the transition from youth to adulthood. Prior to analysis, paper offers a review of the development of French cinematography, from the time when brothers Lumière invented cinematograph until the contemporary French cinema, which is analyzed in the paper. Research has shown that the dominant theme in the analyzed contemporary French films is sexuality. Young people often think about indicated topic which is not surprising considering that they only begin to understand that concept and examine its position in that field. In the analysis, the adolescence proved to be a turbulent period of life because of frequent conflicts young people are being part of feeling misunderstood. They argue mostly at school with peers and teachers, followed by dissensions within the family. Youngsters are solving their own problems and conflicts in different ways, often choosing escape as the easiest solution. As the ultimate way of dealing with problems some choose suicide.

Ovaj se rad bavi analizom slučaja pop feminizma, na primjerima pjevačice Beyonce Knowles i glumice Emme Watson, na popularizaciju feminizma kao pokreta u posljednjih nekoliko godina. Istraživanje je provedeno metodom analize slučaja, analizom članaka koji se tiču dvaju spomenutih akterica, i analizom intervjua s Beyoncinim fanovima. Pretpostavka od koje se krenulo bila je kako su mediji i slavni pomogli stvaranju feminizma kao trenda i pokreta koji je postao popularan. Jedna od pretpostavki također je bila kako takvi istupi poznatih osoba reduciraju pravu vrijednost i dubinu pokreta, i ne daju dovoljno prostora svim njegovim licima. Analizom se dokazalo kako se pop feminizam danas shvaća dvojako; kao pozitivna stvar u smislu moći i autoriteta koji slavni imaju da usmjere na važne probleme u društvu, ali i kao negativan utjecaj, u smislu da previše pažnje pridaju sebi i uklapanju feminističkog identificiranja u svoj brend, a premalo dolazi do aktivnog uključenja u rješavanje problema za koje se pokret bori. S obzirom na to da mediji i poznate osobe mogu igrati ulogu u formiranju mišljenja ljudi i utjecati na njihove stavove i svjetonazore, pa čak i ponašanja, ovakve su vrste istraživanja nužne kako bi se vidio način predstavljanja i promjene jednog od najkontroverznijih i najpopularnijih pokreta današnjice., This paper analyses the phenomenon of popular feminism in todays culture. using examples of the singer Beyonce and an actreess Emma Watson and their involment in feminism. The analysis was done using the case study method, by analysing articles regarding two mentioned celebrities, and analysing the interviews that were done with Beyonce’s fans. The starting premise was that the media and celebrities helped in feminism becomings as a trend and a movement that suddenly got popular. One of the premises was also that the involment of the celebrities in that trend, reduced the real values and the depth of the movement, and didn’t give enough space to all of feminism’s faces and images. Analysis showed how todays understanding of pop feminism can be taken in double ways; as a positive thing in terms of power and the authority of the celebrities that can channel people towards the important world issues, but also as a negative impact, meaning that too much attention was given to celebrities themselves and fitting in that identification with feminism as a part of their brand, meanwhile there’s little to none active involments in changing the issues that feminism as a movement fights. Given the fact that the media and celebrities can play a role in forming the opinions of the people and affect their opinons, even behaviours, these types of studies are necessary to see the ways of representation and change of one of todays most controversial and popular movements.

Ovaj diplomski rad podijeljen je u dva dijela od kojeg je prvi dio teorijski okvir, a drugi istraživanje. U prvom dijelu obrađuje se pojam, nastanak i proširenje Europske unije te proces Hrvatskog pristupa Europskoj uniji, od početka pregovora pa sve do referenduma i službenog pristupa 01. srpnja 2013. godine. Istraživanje izvještavanja njemačkog tiska o ulasku Hrvatske u Europsku uniju provodilo se na uzorku njemačkih novina: Süddeutsche Zeitung, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung te Bild. U istraživanju se koristila metoda analize diskursa koja je prvotno imala za cilj ustvrditi na koji način i kakvim su se diskursom njemačke novine koristile u izvještavanju o hrvatskom pristupu Europskoj uniji. Analiza diskursa je pokazala da su dvije novine: Süddeutsche Zeitung i Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung izvještavale u sličnom broju članaka, baveći se jednakim temama i identičnim medijskim diskursom. Također, analiza diskursa je pokazala da se njemački tisak koristio negativnim diskursom u svom izvještavanju o pristupu Hrvatske Europskoj uniji. Kroz članke su se najviše prožimale teme loših posljedica raspada Jugoslavije i rata, gospodarska kriza u Hrvatskoj, loše pravosuđe, korupcija, neinformiranost građana i strah od pristupa Europskoj uniji te afere poput „Lex Perković“ koja je gotovo odvukla pažnju od samog pristupa., This master thesis consists of two parts, the first part being the theory and the second part research. The first part theorizes the definition, the emergence and expansion of the European Union, also the accession of Croatia to the European Union, from its starting negotiations to the referendum and official accession on July 1, 2013. The research of the German press reports about Croatia`s accession to the European Union was conducted on the following German newspapers: Süddeutsche Zeitung, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and Bild. The method used in this research is discourse analysis, with the goal of finding out in which way and what discourse the German press used in reporting about Croatia’s accession to the European Union. The discourse analysis showed that two newspapers Süddeutsche Zeitung and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reported similar number of articles dealing with equal subjects and identical media discourse. Also, the discourse analysis showed that the German press used negative discourse in its reporting about Croatia`s accession to the European Union. Throughout the articles the main subjects were the negative repercussions of the disintegration of Yugoslavia and the war, economy crisis, slow administration, corruption, citizan`s lack of information and fear of accession to the EU and affairs like „Lex Perković“ which almost drew whole attention from the accession.
