Abstract

The article investigates the successful implementation of tub dyeing package offered under the Sericulture Catalytic Development Programme--Expenditure Finance Committee (CDP-EFC) scheme of the Central Silk Board. It discusses the case of local weaver Shri Chandrakant Dongade from Belgaum, India who was able to reduce production costs, and improve the fastness quality of his silk production using the 50-kilogram tub dyeing unit and new technology from the Central Silk Technological Research Institute (CSTRI).
