This Bachelor thesis maps intercultural education (multicultural education) in the practice of selected secondary schools in České Budějovice. The thesis consists of two parts. The theoretical part defines the key terms (e.g. intercultural/multicultural, education), presents the evolution and an overview of key governmental documents and examples of projects aimed at the intercultural education in Czech Republic and abroad. In the practical part, the method of the implementation of the intercultural education is specified by the analysis of ŠVP (School Educational Programme) and websites of the target schools, a questionnaire survey and an interview.

The integration of modern technologies (ICT) into the educational process has recently been a world-wide trend that reflects the rapid development of these technologies, as well as the needs of the young generation. Digital literacy is not only an important skill, but also a requirement of the society today. The implementation of ICT in teaching then depends not only on material requirements, but, above all, on the digital competencies of teachers and pupils. This work, therefore, deals with the possibilities and opportunities that technology brings to the teaching of human biology at secondary schools in both the full-time and distance learning modes, and the views of students and teachers on its use. The mixed research, which involved 22 teachers and 110 pupilss, was conducted as semi-structured interviews and a questionnaire survey. The design of a teaching unit with ICT elements on a selected topic in the field of human biology, its implementation, and evaluation is also a part of this work.

The main purpose of the thesis Mediální výchova na gymnáziích pohledem českých a německých pedagogů is to compare the conditions, practice, and goals of media studies at high schools in Prague and Leipzig and provide inspiration for both sides through this comparison. The theoretical part focuses on the role of the teacher, introduces educational concepts, and describes the historical development of media education and mentions of it in official documents both in Germany and the Czech Republic. The practical section of the thesis is dedicated to the teachers and their concrete opinions and experience with media education collected with the help of a series of questionnaires and half-structured interviews.

Title: Attitudes and opinions of the adolescents at the age of 15 - 18 to the sport and movement activities Objectives: The establishment and comparaison of the opinions and attitudes to movement activities and sport in teenagers was the main objective of this thesis. PASA questionnaire focused on15 - 18 years old secondary schools students was applied. Methods: A method of the written interviewing using PASA questionnaire was used. This questionnaire was widespread some 15 years ago, yet we made a pre- testing sample and some questions were modified. By means of the PASA questionnaire we asked about opinions and attitudes of the adolescents concerning the movement acitivities and sport in light of the psycho-social, real movement and sport activities, of the exploitation of the available physical education and sport facilities etc. The research was effected at selected secondary schools in the Czech Republic. Results: The obtained data were statistically processed and the results are presented in the aggregate tables stating the statistically significant differencies between sex, age groups. This dissertation on "Changes in the School Libraries of the Cheb (1854-1942) and Pelhřimov (1871-1942) Secondary Schools" aims to present thematic analyses of the teacher and student libraries at these schools. The paper is divided into seven chapters. The first contains a critique of the sources and literature used. The second deals with the history of the Cheb Secondary School. The history of the Pelhřimov Secondary School presents the third chapter. The following section provides information on the development of school libraries and their inclusion in laws on education in the period 1848-1942. The fourth and fifth chapters then form the core of this paper, which include analyses of the teacher and student libraries at the Cheb and Pelhřimov Secondary Schools, not only from a thematic, chronological and language perspective, but also in terms of the acquisition and preservation of books. All the findings are then summarised in the conclusion.

This thesis deals with the topic of teaching religious topics at secondary schools according to Framework Education Programme for Secondary General Education. Also, the aspect of education towards tolerance and preventing religious xenophobia in multicultural society is involved. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part is focused on the theoretical background and includes interpretation of formal documents that the teacher must take into consideration when teaching this topic, (such as textbooks, national curricular documents and recommendations). The approach in other countries is mentioned as well. The theoretical part involves a minimal amount of knowledge that the teacher should know and be able to implement while teaching the topic this work is focused on. The second part contains a qualitative research concentrating on finding students' preconceptions towards the topic of the thesis. The research method was a profound dialogue with five students of secondary schools. The students were of different age, sex, religious opinion, nationality and socio- economical background. This thesis deals with the preference of pupils at secondary schools (gymnasia) for different types of teaching aids in zoology education. The main objective was to determine whether the pupils rate educational models as more attractive than the real zoological preserved specimens and whether their preferences are related to their susceptibility to potentially phobic stimuli, realism of the object or whether preferences differ between the sexes. Selected models included entire animals as well as animal organs. The research was conducted at selected secondary schools (gymnasia) in Prague and Jablonec nad Nisou using a questionnaire and a preference test. Secondary school pupils and their biology teachers participated in this research. The realistic design of each object was assessed by researchers and students from the Faculty of Science Charles University using a scale questionnaire. The results showed that students rated the real zoological preserved specimens as more attractive compared to teaching models, with no dependence on whether the objects were entire or anatomical. The thesis describes the circumstances of founding, development and transformation of the Grammar school in Jilemnice from 1913 to 1948 in the context of the political, economic and social changes and, also, changes of the national education policy. The paper consists of two major parts: the first one describes the historical development of the grammar school as a type, and thus forms a theoretical basis for the second part focused on the history of the Grammar school in Jilemnice itself. The latter part puts forward a picture of a daily life of the institution that was established by Czech citizens to support the Czech language and the national identity in a predominantly German-speaking area. It also presents problems the school faced during the peace time as well as during the global war conflicts, including the temporary closure of the school from 1941 to 1945. The paper finishes in 1948 when the character of the Grammar school changed significantly due to Act no. 95/1948 Sb. The appendices provide personal history of selected professors and memories of several former students.

This Bachelor thesis discusses demands on competencies of lectors of adaptation courses for high schools. The object of the thesis is to assemble a list of competencies that a lector should dispose of to be able to attain the goals of the adaptation course. The thesis presents the concept of adaptation courses and differents ways of their realisation. It also disserts on the competencies and the advantage of their utilization and presents two competency models that concern the profession of an adaptation course lector. With the use of relevant literature it identifies the main goals and principles of an adaptation course and the competencies they imply. Title: The actual state of physical education with regard to gymnastics at high schools Aim: Find out the actual state of girls' physical education with regard to gymnastics at high schools and compare the results with secondary schools. Methods: Questionnaire was a main method used in this research. Data was obtained by non-standardized questionnaire with semi-closed and closed questions from teachers of high and secondary schools and their students. Some teachers provided an interview for supplementary information. Results: Data obtained by questionnaires was compiled and evaluated into the form of graphs. We got actual students' and teachers' opinions on physical education. Most respondents perceive physical education as positive activity because of fun and the oportunity to improve their fitness. Students miss unusual activities. The results confirm that gymnastics is included in lessons less than sports games. Students of high schools admit a fear of injuries and low fitness readiness, students of secondary schools admit that gymnastics is boring. Teachers of PE try to bring a variety of activities but these are mainly traditional and ordinary with usual equipment. of English I chose the topic "Czech school in the Protectorate" for my Doctoral thesis. The history of the Second world war bellongs to my long interest. My goal was to create a popular - educational publication for student teachers. I never met with this part of history of our school in the Faculty of Education and in the Philosophical Faculty of Charles University. I hope it's very important to remind this part of history - dificult situation of teachers and students during the Nazi era to current students. This sadly topic could raise future teachers to love the profession and could raise the prestige of teachers in our country. My wish would be after reading this work to increase patriotism, love and respect fot the history of our school. The main aim of this dissertation (thesis) is to conduct a survey of the high school education through the history and put into the context the historical development and it's infuence on the studying. I would like to subsequently confornt this piece of knowledge with the current situation. This is also a kind of probe into the students life. In more detail I'm focussed on the J.V. Jirsik's grammar school in Ceske Budejovice. This college, thanks to it's wide and diverse history and also thanks to it's well preserved archives, provides a complete view of the secondary school tuition acroos history in our region. In the theoretical part of my work I'm specifying the different problems and difficulties of the high school education, which we can see through the history and also at the present time. In the practical part I would like to verify my discovered facts and complete these with other findings. The main contribution of my work lies in presenting analysis and subsequent deduction of my findings regarding the above mentioned subject. I believe my findings could be a great help and contribution to the social pedagogy field.

Title: Financial mathematics in selected problems from comprehensive school geometry curriculum Author: Zuzana Kocourková Department: Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Education Supervisor: Prof. RNDr. Jarmila Novotná, CSc. The core of the bachelor thesis is a selection of problems that combine geo- metry and financial mathematics and can be used at comprehensive school. In the first part the author defines and describes financial literacy and its inclusion into primary and secondary school education. It also presents foundations of finan- cial mathematics. The second part of the thesis focuses on problems that combine geometry and financial matematics and on their introduction at comprehensive school level. When possible, several suitable solving strategies are demonstrated. Each of the problems is supplemented by a list of knowledge and skills prerequi- site to their solution. Analysis of knowledge level in common local vertebrate species at children from different school types and hobby groups This thesis deals with the research of practical knowledge and skills of students of primary and secondary schools. It targets exploring of cognition of local common species of vertebrates (fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals). It takes up this research (Lang, Pravda, 1971). It takes a large part of their methodology and compares the results with selec- ted reference species. The results are presented in graphs and chart tables. Title: The comparison of the conditions for teaching Educational area of Man and Health in primary and secondary schools Objectives: Research whether schools have such conditions for teaching Educational area of Man and Health in order to achieve the objectives of framework educational programs. Research basic information about the structure of PE teachers in primary and secondary schools and on the structure of PE teachers in Prague and Pilsen region. Research the different conditions of teaching Educational area of Man and Health in primary and secondary schools in Prague and Pilsen Region. Propose appropriate solutions to improve the situation. Methods: We used for comparison of results of non-standardized questionnaire containing mainly closed types of questions. The questionnaire survey was for PE teachers in elementary and secondary schools. The surveyed regions were Pilsen Region and Prague. Results: We found that overall conditions in schools meet the standards of basic curricula. Overall conditions prevent attainment of the objectives and tasks set out in the basic curricula. Today's society is characterized by its multicultural diversity. Within the European Union you can travel and work freely in other countries, the same is true on the other hand, when in the Czech Republic there are still more foreigners who are trying to find a new home. Because of the ever increasing cultural pluralism may arise conflicts that may arise from disparities and the unknown. It was one of the reasons why schools introduced multicultural education. This thesis is called "Multicultural Education from the Perspective of Students of Secondary Schools in South Bohemian Region" and is divided into two parts. The first is the theoretical and the second part is practical. The theoretical part discusses the basic concepts of multicultural education such as the multiculturalism, ethnic group, nation, race, prejudice, etc., without which it would be difficult to orient in the area of multicultural education. The second half of the theoretical part deals with multicultural education in Czech schools, where the emphasis is on the curricula of multicultural education which came with us, talking about what should a teacher be, who is trying to implement multicultural education, etc. The practical section discusses the stated objectives of work and mentions the methodology used in the research and describes the research file. In the practical part it presents the results of the data obtained. This work has established two goals and two research questions. The aim of this study was to determine whether and how it is implemented multicultural education in secondary schools in South Bohemia and the second objective was to determine the attitudes and knowledge of students in the first and fourth years of school with the issue of multiculturalism in our country and the world. To achieve the objectives of qualitative the research was used in which eighteen semi-structured interviews with teachers who work at eleven secondary schools in South Bohemia were carried out. Interview questions were divided into four categories for better evaluation. To achieve the second objective it was compiled the questionnaire with mainly open-ended questions which were designed for students of the first and fourth years of four year schools. The questionnaire was completed so that the data could then be used to evaluate 130 first-year students and 130 fourth grade students on eleven secondary schools in South Bohemia. The results of interviews showed that to implement the education is not an easy task even though all respondents try to fulfill the Framework educational program for secondary school, which says that multicultural education should go throughout all the subjects. Teachers in the implementation of this education face difficulties. In most cases respondents, who teach social science, agreed that they have lack of time for teaching. This is precisely this subject in which multicultural education is crucial and should be implemented. Another problem is that teachers at all or poorly attend courses related to this cross-cutting theme. It is precisely at these seminars where the teachers can draw ideas on how to incorporate multicultural education into their lessons. Also they could obtain guidance documents, which all respondents are missing, at these seminars and perhaps this is the reason why multicultural education is little integrated. The results of the questionnaires helped to clarify that multicultural education is beneficial, at least in terms of knowledge and awareness of students with this issue. The fourth grade students in this area are more familiar and have larger insight than the first-year students. In the area of attitudes minor differences are seen when students of the first and fourth grades in most cases correspond to different views and attitudes.
