The article discusses accepted writing styles in technical publications. It informs that the contents of the technical paper must be much more detailed than the description given in a fifteen or twenty minute talk. The giving of a much more detailed description, however, cannot be the reason why we expect papers to be so much more straightforward and dry than the analogous talk. A published paper does not have to be flashy. It does not have to be fine literature. It does not have to be good comedy. It can, however, be human, containing touches reflecting each of us as people in addition to our being scientists.
