The article presents the author's opinion on the issue concerning the employment tenure in various educational institutions in the U.S. He mentions that tenure requires a university to engage in a multi-million-dollar investments necessary to support its teachers over the course of their careers. The tenure process is essential as it involves quality control. The author also reveals that some of the teachers who were not able to adhere with the established standards of the schools were given a terminal year before their employment ends.
