Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has increased the symptoms of significant psychological burdens for the entire population. However, little is known about the psychological effect of COVID-19 on healthcare students. Objective: The research aimed to determine whether and to what degree healthcare students exhibit signs and symptoms of anxiety and depression during the second year of the pandemic. Material and methods: The study was conducted as an online cross-sectional study, by surveying 133 healthcare students of the Faculty of Medicine. The questionnaire for the assessment of anxiety (General Anxiety Disorder - GAD-7) and the questionnaire for the assessment of depression (Patient Health Questionnaire - PHQ-9) were used as research instruments. Descriptive and inferential statistical methods were used for statistical data processing, and statistical significance was determined at the p≤ 0.05 level. Results: The highest percentage of students showed minimal symptoms of depression (40.6%), i.e. symptoms of minimal anxiety (45.1%), while the total average score of the GAD-7 questionnaire was 6.35±5.27(SD), and the average value of the total PHQ-9 score was 7.42±5.59(SD). Conclusion: The COVID-19 pandemic had an impact on healthcare students, who during the second year of the pandemic showed mild depression and mild anxiety.

Introduction: Infertility is a very important medical and social problem that affects increasing number of couples. Taking into account the specifics of the problem, impact on the partnership and social interactions, treatment of infertility can have significant negative impacts on the quality of life in women during the in-vitrofertilization procedure (IVF). Main goal: To determine the quality of life of women during the IVF process in relation to general life satisfaction, physical and mental health, as well as to determine the satisfaction of patients with health services during the IVF process. Material and methods: The research was conducted as a descriptive cross-sectional study lasting 4 months. The survey was conducted online, the sample consisted of 150 respondents currently in the IVF process. The Fertility quality of life tool questionnaire - FertiQol - was used as a data collection tool. Results: The largest number of respondents are in good general physical condition (61.5%) and are satisfied with the general quality of their life (67.7%). Introduction: Supporative care includes detection and providing necessary interventions to prevent, control or alleviate complications and side effects in order to improve the comfort and quality of life of cancer patients to meet their needs. The aim of this research was to determine the level of unsatisfied needs of patients after breast cancer surgery and also to determine connection with social demographic characteristics and risk factors. Material and methods: This study was conducted as a cros-ssectional study, on a sample of 40 patients that have undergone surgical breast cancer treatment at the Oncology Institute of Vojvodina in Sremska Kamenica during 2019. The instrument used in this research was Short form of the Supportive Care Needs Survey questionnaire (SCNS-SF34). It was used to determine the level and type of healthcare assistance needed by the patients. The questionnaire consisted of 34 questions that are divided through five domains. The higher score (min=1, max=5) indicates a higher need for support. Results: The average age of the patients was 61.5±12.8 years. The highest level of required healthcare support was determined in the domain of the Healthcare system and information, while the domain with lowest value was Sexuality. Statistically significant difference was discovered between the values of the Healthcare system and information and the educational level (p=0.03), which indicates that patients with a higher level of education have a bigger level of needs from this domain. Conclusion: This study provides information about patient needs for supportive care in daily life activities, after breast cancer surgery. The results of the research clearly indicate that patients after breast cancer surgery face unmet needs in all domains except sexuality.

Background: Being the most austere manifestation of ischaemic heart disease, acute coronary syndrome is one of the most frequent causes of urgent treatment and sudden death in both developed and developing countries as well. Acute stroke is the third cause of death in developed countries, after cardiovascular diseases and tumors, and second worldwide. Besides being a disease with high mortality, it is also a disease with a highest level of disability. Aim: To determine possibilities and modes of rehabilitation of patients with concomitant occurence of acute stroke and acute coronary syndrome. Methods: Retrospective study using hospitalized patients data. 5929 hospitalized patients treated at the Institute for cardiovascular diseases in Sremska Kamenica were analyzed from January 1st 2017 to December 31st 2019, without regarding sex and age. We entered data in created database and analyzed using descriptive statistics and chi-square test. Results: Concomitant stroke and acute coronary syndrome was found in 61 patient (1.0%). There were 32 males and 29 females. Average age was 68.82. Pneumonia occured more frequently in persons with concomitant occurrence of acute stroke and acute coronary syndrome than in persons with acute coronary syndrome without acute stroke. Regarding neurological and/or cardiological condition, only 3 patients (9.0%) were eligible for rehabilitation, and in all others it was delayed or contraindicated. Conclusion: Rehabilitation of patients with concomitant occurrence of acute coronary syndrome and acute stroke was complicated, with high risk, and required multidisciplinary approach to each patient individually.

Introduction: Stroke is one of the leading causes of adult disability and certainly the most significant single cause of neurological disability. Aim: To examine the quality of life of patients after a stroke by analyzing the physical and mental condition, as well as social skills from the aspect of individual, family, professional and life on the broader community. Methodology: The research is designed as a prospective study. The sample consisted of 20 patients with stroke (experimental group) and patients without stroke (control group), treated at the Clinic for Medical Rehabilitation of the Clinical Center of Vojvodina. The National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), the Modified Bartel Index, the Rankin Scale (mRS) and the Mini-Mental State Exam (MMSE) were used to assess neurological status, functional and cognitive status. In addition, the SF-36 Short Form Health Questionnaire and the Stroke Impact Scale (SIS) were used to assess the quality of life. Results: In all domains of SIS and the overall score, statistically significant differences were found between patients with stroke, compared to those without. The most significant differences were found in handicap, arm, and daily activities. The minor differences, but still statistically significant, were found in communication, memory, and emotions. Conclusion: Patients' quality of life after a stroke is significantly impaired, and physical functioning is most affected.

Introduction: The increasing number of treated and survived cancer patients is an acknowledgment to more successful therapies and early detection of cancer diseases. However, this success has created a challenge for health care professionals in addressing the issues that affect patients' sexuality. The aim of this study was to determine the attitudes and beliefs of students integrated studies of medicine and bachelor students, and professional studies of nursing care in terms of sexuality in cancer patients, and to determine the existence of differences between the two study groups involved in this research. Material and methods: The survey was conducted from November to December 2018, in the form of cross-sectional study and included a total of 116 medical students divided into two groups. For the purpose of assessment of students as a means bet using the questionnaire Sexuality Attitude and Belief Survey (SABS) by authors Reynolds K. and Magnan M.A. from 2005. Results: The highest percentage of nurses (91.4%) agree with the sentence to understand how to treat sexuality could affect the health of patients, while as many as 89.7% of this group of respondents disagreed with the sentence that sexuality is too personal problem to was discussed with patients. The highest percentage of medical students (74.1%) agreed with the sentence that most of the hospitalized patients are too sick to be interested in sexuality. The largest discrepancy (69%) was measured for a declaration under which students use their time to talk with patients about their sexual problems. Conclusion: Results of this study showed that there are no significant differences in attitudes be-tween students at both study groups.

Introduction: Energy potion is non-alcoholic drink, which is mostly used by young people to achieve wanted effects. But, these drinks can cause unwanted effects as well, such as cardiovascular disorder, CNS disorder and gastro-interstinal system disorder. The aim of the study was to assess the frequency of consumption of energy drinks and the knowledge of medical students regarding possible side effects, as well as to determine the acute effects after consuming energy drinks on arterial blood pressure, hemoglobin oxygen saturation, pulse and respiration. Material and methods: This study was conducted as an analytical, observational cross-sectional study at the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad. The Questionnaire on the level of knowledge and experience about the desired and unwanted effects of energy drinks was used as a research instrument. Results: Students consume energy drinks (80%) and have knowledge of possible side effects (88%). After consuming the energy drink, the differences between the average values of systolic and diastolic blood pressure, hemoglobin oxygen saturation and respiration rate were determined. Conclusion: The results of the study show that most students, although they have knowledge about side effects, still consume energy drinks. Changes in cardiorespiratory function after consuming an energy drink were most pronounced in the values of arterial blood pressure.

Introduction: One of the leading health problems in the female population is cancer of gynecological organs. The illness and medical treatment modalities cause many physical and / or psychological symptoms that have a negative impact on recovery and are an obstacle to the continuation of the expected functioning in both the daily and professional environments. Aim: To determine the prevalence of the most common physical and psychological symptoms in the patient population with gynecological carcinoma after surgery in relation to the localization of malignant tumors. Material and methods: The research was conducted according to the type of cross section study by interviewing patients suffering from gynecological carcinoma at the Institute for Oncology of Vojvodina in Sremska Kamenica, at the Clinic for operative oncology, Department of Gynecology in the period from December 2017 to February 2018. A brief version of the Symptom Assessment Scale - Short Form [MSAS-SF.] Was used to assess the symptoms. Data processing included methods of descriptive and inferential statistics, for the data analysis, the statistical package SPSS 21 for Windows was used. Results: The average values of all supplements are the highest in the group of subjects with ovarian cancer. The highest mean value had a Global Distress Indicator. The total MSAS score indicates that psychological symptoms are dominant in relation to physical symptoms, for example, in divorced women with a secondary education level. The lack of energy and concern were the most common symptoms regardless of the localization of the carcinoma. Conclusion: The results of the study indicate that patients with gynecologic and gynecologic cancer patients show a higher proportion of psychological symptoms than physical ones. In the domain of psychological symptoms, concern had the highest incidence, while in the supplements of physical symptoms the lack of energy was highlighted. Physical and psychological symptoms are most common in divorced women with secondary education.
