2. Crosstalk between gut microbiota and cancer chemotherapy: current status and trends.

Background: Chemotherapy is crucial in the management of tumors, but challenges such as chemoresistance and adverse reactions frequently lead to therapeutic delays or even premature cessation. A growing body of research underscores a profound connection between the gut microbiota (GM) and cancer chemotherapy (CC). This paper aims to pinpoint highly influential publications and monitor the current landscape and evolving trends within the realm of GM/CC research. Methods: On October 1st, 2024, a comprehensive search for GM/CC publications spanning the past 20 years from 2004 to 2023 was conducted utilizing the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). The scope encompassed both articles and reviews, and the data was subsequently extracted. To gain insights into the evolution and dynamics of this research field, we employed bibliometric analysis tools such as the Bibliometrix R package, VOSviewer, and Microsoft Excel to visualize and analyze various dimensions, including prominent journals, leading authors, esteemed institutions, contributing countries/regions, highly cited papers, and frequently occurring keywords. Results: A total of 888 papers were obtained. The number of publications about GM/CC studies has increased gradually. China and the United States published the largest number of papers. The INSERM was in the leading position in publishers. The most productive authors were Zitvogel L from France. Cancers had the largest number of papers. Citation analysis explained the historical evolution and breakthroughs in GM/CC research. Highly cited papers and common keywords illustrated the status and trends of GM/CC research. Four clusters were identified, and the hot topics included the role of the GM in the efficacy and toxicity of CC, the targeting of the GM to improve the outcome of CC, the mechanism by which the GM affects CC, and the correlation of the GM with carcinogenesis and cancer therapy. Metabolism, GM-derived metabolites, tumor microenvironment, immunity, intestinal barrier, tumor microbiota and Fusobacterium nucleatum may become the new hotspots and trends of GM/CC research. Conclusion: This study analyzed global publications and bibliometric characteristics of the links between GM and CC, identified highly cited papers in GM/CC, provided insight into the status, hotspots, and trends of global GM/CC research, and showed that the GM can be used to predict the efficacy and toxicity of CC and modifying the GM can improve the outcomes of chemotherapeutics, which may inform clinical researchers of future directions. 4. Artificial intelligence and machine learning for disaster prediction: a scientometric analysis of highly cited papers.

This study conducts an analysis of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) applications in natural disaster prediction using a scientometric approach. The Web of Science Core Collection served as the primary data source, yielding 38,456 records spanning from 2003 to 2022. The analysis concentrated on highly influential research, defined by papers garnering 100 or more citations, resulting in a final set of 1,637 publications. VOSviewer software facilitated the exploration of collaboration patterns among authors, institutions, and countries, along with the identification of emerging research topics and the most impactful articles. These highly cited papers were distributed across various sources (625). A total of 443,502 citations were counted, with an average of 270.92 citations per document. Interestingly, the average annual citation growth rate exhibited a negative trend (-1.02%), suggesting a potential shift in citation patterns over time. The average document age of 6.9 years indicates that the majority of the research is relatively recent. Collaboration emerges as a prominent feature within the field, with an average of 5.09 co-authors per document and 46.55% of collaborations being international. This underscores the collaborative nature inherent in research within this domain. Scholarly articles (1263) represent the predominant document type, followed by reviews (323), indicative of the field's solid foundation in peer-reviewed literature. The study's findings hold significant implications for future research and practical applications, identifying gaps in the literature and underscoring the necessity for further exploration in developing AI and ML models tailored to specific types of natural disasters, as well as assessing these models in real-world scenarios. International collaboration and interdisciplinary approaches are highlighted as pivotal components in advancing this critical field. While providing valuable insights, this approach acknowledges limitations associated with its focus on highly cited papers and a single database. Future research could address these limitations by incorporating additional databases, employing broader search criteria, and utilising alternative methodologies to attain a more comprehensive understanding of the evolving research landscape. 5. Trends and hot topics in linguistics studies from 2011 to 2021: A bibliometric analysis of highly cited papers.

High citations most often characterize quality research that reflects the foci of the discipline. This study aims to spotlight the most recent hot topics and the trends looming from the highly cited papers (HCPs) in Web of Science category of linguistics and language & linguistics with bibliometric analysis. The bibliometric information of the 143 HCPs based on Essential Citation Indicators was retrieved and used to identify and analyze influential contributors at the levels of journals, authors, and countries. The most frequently explored topics were identified by corpus analysis and manual checking. The retrieved topics can be grouped into five general categories: multilingual-related, language teaching, and learning related, psycho/pathological/cognitive linguistics-related, methods and tools-related, and others. Topics such as bi/ multilingual(ism), translanguaging, language/writing development, models, emotions, foreign language enjoyment (FLE), cognition, anxiety are among the most frequently explored. Multilingual and positive trends are discerned from the investigated HCPs. The findings inform linguistic researchers of the publication characteristics of the HCPs in the linguistics field and help them pinpoint the research trends and directions to exert their efforts in future studies. Background: There is a crosstalk between gut microbiota (GM) and cancer immunotherapy (CI). The purpose of this study is to use bibliometric analysis to identify the highly cited papers relating to GM/CI and explore the research status and development trends of the GM/CI research. Methods: A literature search regarding GM/CI publications from 2012 to 2021 was undertaken on July 4, 2022. The article titles, journals, authors, institutions, countries, total citations, keywords, and other information were extracted from the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) of Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). The Bibliometrix of R package and VOSviewer were used for bibliometric analysis. Results: A total of 665 papers were extracted. The number of papers has increased rapidly over the past decade, especially after 2018. The United States and China had the most publications and made great contributions to this field. Th5e Univ Texas MD Anderson Canc Ctr and Univ Paris Saclay were absolutely in the leading position in GM/CI. The most influential authors were Zitvogel L and Routy B. Frontiers in Immunology had the most publications and Science had the most total citations. Historical direct citation analysis explained the historical evolution in GM/CI. Highly cited papers and high-frequency keywords illustrated the current status and trends of GM/CI. Four clusters were identified and the important topics included the role of GM and antibiotics in CI, the methods of targeting GM to improve CI outcomes, the mechanism by which GM affects CI and the application of ICIs in melanoma. "Tumor microbiome", "proton pump inhibitors" and "prognosis" may be the new focus of attention in the next few years. Conclusion: This study filtered global publications on GM/CI correlation and analyzed their bibliometric characteristics, identified the most cited papers in GM/CI, and gained insight into the status, hotspots and trends of global GM/CI research, which may inform researchers and practitioners of future directions. Abstract The explosive growing number of data from mobile devices, social media, Internet of Things and other applications has highlighted the emergence of big data. This paper aims to determine the worldwide research trends on the field of big data and its most relevant research areas. A bibliometric approach was performed to analyse a total of 6572 papers including 28 highly cited papers and only papers that were published in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection database from 1980 to 19 March 2015 were selected. The results were refined by all relevant Web of Science categories to computer science, and then the bibliometric information for all the papers was obtained. Microsoft Excel version 2013 was used for analyzing the general concentration, dispersion and movement of the pool of data from the papers. The t test and ANOVA were used to prove the hypothesis statistically and characterize the relationship among the variables. A comprehensive analysis of the publication trends is provided by document type and language, year of publication, contribution of countries, analysis of journals, analysis of research areas, analysis of web of science categories, analysis of authors, analysis of author keyword and keyword plus. In addition, the novelty of this study is that it provides a formula from multi-regression analysis for citation analysis based on the number of authors, number of pages and number of references.

Publication of research, innovation, challenges and successes is of critical importance to the evolution of more effective distance education programming. Publication in peer reviewed journal format is the most prestigious and the most widespread form of dissemination in education and most other disciplines, thus the importance of understanding what is published and its impact on both researchers and practitioners. In this article we identify and classify the leading articles in arguably the leading peer reviewed journals in this discipline. The journal The International Review of Research in Open and Distance Learning (IRRODL) is a peer reviewed academic journal that has been published since 2000. The journal has published between 3 and 6 issues annually with between 50 and 111 research articles per volume. In order to assess the general and the particular impact of highly cited articles this work describes the main bibliometric indicators of the IRRODL journal and these are compared with the total galley views in all formats, PDF, HTML, EPUB and MP3, that IRRODL publishes. In addition to identifying characteristics of the most widely cited articles this research determines if there is a correlation between the articles most highly cited by other publishing researchers and the number of views, indicating interest from both practitioners and research communities. The results show a significant and positive relationship between the total number of citations and the number of views received by articles published in the journal, indicating the impact of the journal extends beyond active publishers to practitioner consumers.
