Objective: This study aimed to explore the metaphorical perceptions and cognitive structures of Turkish nursing students related to the impact of the global climate crisis on their profession. Methods: Researchers adopted a qualitative approach centered on metaphor analysis and involved 40 Turkish nursing students enrolled in programs in Türkiye during October 2023. Using metaphor analysis and techniques involving writing and drawing, the study uncovered how these students perceive and cognitively structure the influence of the global climate crisis on their nursing careers. The interview form featured the metaphor expression "The reflection of the global climate crisis on nursing is like ... because ...," while the drawing component prompted students to determine their perspectives on the climate crisis's impact on nursing through concept drawings. The research adhered to the COREQ checklist. Results: The study revealed that nursing students generated 22 metaphors each through written and drawing techniques. Written metaphors were grouped into five categories: psychosocial challenges faced by nurses, patient populations, diseases and coping, burdens on the health system, and the growing importance of various fields within nursing. Drawing technique metaphors were grouped into four categories: nurses and the difficulties they face, the impact of the global climate crisis on the world, the impact of the global climate crisis on the healthcare sector, and the roles and responsibilities of nurses. Conclusions: While nursing students expressed diverse opinions, their concerns about the reflection of the global climate crisis on nursing yielded similar emotional responses. Metaphors are mostly focused on psychosocial challenges faced by nurses, the patient population, diseases, and coping mechanisms. Aim: This study was conducted to address the experiences of diabetic patients from a psychosocial perspective, examine the burden of disease, and determine their practices for symptom management. Materials and Methods: In this study, a phenomenological research design, a qualitative research design, was used. The study included 20 diabetic patients. Individual and face‐to‐face interviews were performed, and Colaizzi's phenomenological analysis method was used to analyze the data. Results: As a result of the data analysis, four categories (challenges with care and treatment, coping with the disease, effects, and healthy life behaviors) and eleven main themes (knowledge, application, symptoms, support resources, spiritual coping methods, physical coping methods, physical effects, spiritual effects, social effects, physical practices, and psychological practices) emerged. Conclusion: It was concluded that the disease burden of diabetic patients is intense and that the participants of the study were not effective in coping with the disease through symptom management and found spirituality important in coping. The study aimed to evaluate the ethical dilemmas faced by nurses who provide care to patients with hematologic cancer and determine their coping mechanisms using a phenomenological approach. This qualitative study was conducted with 35 nurses employed in clinics specializing in hematologic cancer patient care, living in diverse regions of Turkey, using semistructured, in-depth interviews through the WhatsApp mobile application. The snowball sampling technique was utilized to identify participants, and interviews continued until data saturation was achieved. All interviews were recorded and subsequently transcribed. Data analysis was conducted using Colaizzi's phenomenological analysis method, with the study adhering to the COREQ (Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Research) checklist for reporting. In the analysis of the data, 2 categories (ethical dilemma situations and coping experiences) and 6 subthemes (treatment, care, professional values and beliefs, emotions, struggling with emotional burdens, and psychosocial approach) emerged. According to the results, nurses responsible for hematologic cancer patients struggle with ethical dilemmas in healthcare delivery and face challenges in effectively addressing them, which could potentially impact the quality of healthcare provided by nurses. Aim and Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the psychosocial difficulties and life experiences of nurses working in the disaster area following the earthquake on February 6, Kahramanmaraş centered earthquake with a phenomenological approach. Background: After natural disasters such as earthquakes, nurses play a significant role in providing both physical and psychosocial support. Therefore, the experiences of nurses in this field are necessary both to support them and to assist disaster survivors. Materials and Methods: In this study, in which the phenomenological research method was used, semi‐structured in‐depth interviews with 18 nurses who provided health care services during the February 6 Kahramanmaraş earthquake were conducted between January and February 2024 via Whatsapp mobile application. Snowball sampling method was used to reach the sample group. Interviews continued until data saturation was achieved. All interviews were audio recorded and then transcribed. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The study was conducted and reported according to the COREQ checklist. Results: Data analysis revealed two themes (psychological and social difficulties caused by the earthquake, traumatic stress and coping experiences as a nurse) and five sub‐themes (social difficulties, psychological difficulties, traumatic events, reactions and coping). Conclusion: As a result of the study, it was determined that nurses providing health care services were negatively affected psychosocially by the traumatic stress situations they experienced in the earthquake centered in Kahramanmaraş on February 6. It was determined that nurses had great difficulty in coping with the traumatic stress situations they experienced. Objective: This study aimed to deeply examine the quality-of-life perceptions and experiences of individuals with depersonalization disorder. Material-Method: The study was conducted with 13 individuals diagnosed with depersonalization disorder using phenomenological research design, which is a qualitative research design. Interviews were conducted individually and face-to-face using semi-structured forms. The data were analyzed using Colaizzi's phenomenological analysis method. Results: In the analysis of the data, two categories, nine main themes, and twenty-one sub-themes emerged. These are the categories of "effects of depersonalization on the individual" and "quality of life perceptions". The category of the effects of depersonalization on the individual was examined under three sub-themes as mental, physical, and social effects. Individuals with depersonalization disorder experience feelings of hopelessness/despair, depression, sadness, loneliness, and dream/simulation. The diagnosis of depersonalization disorder was determined to cause many adverse conditions like internalized stigmatization and social isolation. In addition, individuals with depersonalization disorder experience problems in daily life activities, which impair their perception of quality of life. Conclusion: Individuals with depersonalization disorder experience psychosocial problems, their daily life activities are negatively affected, and their perception of quality of life is low. Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the perspectives of senior nursing students taking psychiatric nursing courses on working as psychiatric nurses and the factors affecting them using a qualitative phenomenological approach. Material-Method: In this study, phenomenological research design, which is a qualitative research design, was used. This qualitative research was conducted with 67 volunteer nursing students. Interviews were conducted individually and face-to-face. The data were analyzed using Colaizzi's phenomenological analysis method. Findings: In the analysis of the data, three categories (emotions experienced during practice, difficulties experienced during practice, thoughts about psychiatric nursing) and eight sub-themes (positive emotions, negative emotions, communication, knowledge, stigma, time, characteristics of a nurse and characteristics of the profession) were identified. Conclusion: It was determined that although nursing students stated that psychiatric nursing is a difficult profession, they consider it as a profession with high professional satisfaction when it is performed in accordance with nursing care standards. Background: Violence against women has numerous devastating effects. Exposure to violence not only impacts women but also affects their children both physically and psychosocially. Aims: The study aimed to evaluate the psychosocial problems of children living with their mothers in women's shelters from the mothers' perspective with a phenomenological approach. Methods: Utilizing the phenomenological research method, semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted with 14 individuals in a women's shelter in a province in northern Türkiye. The criterion sampling method, a purposive sampling technique, was employed to select participants. Interviews continued until data saturation was achieved. All interviews were audio recorded and then transcribed, and thematic analysis was applied to analyze the data. The study adhered to the COREQ checklist for reporting. Results: The data analysis revealed four main categories (effects of violence on the mother, actions taken to protect children from violence, effects of violence and staying in a shelter on the child, and psychosocial needs for the protection of the child's mental health in the shelter) and 10 sub-themes (psychological effects, physical effects, social effects, domestic actions, organizational actions, psychological effects, physical effects, social effects, support system, and coping). Conclusion: The study concluded that violence significantly impacted the mental, physical, and social well-being of both women and children, posing challenges to their ability to cope with the aftermath. Women exerted considerable effort in protecting their children from violence, and they needed psychosocial support to ensure the well-being of their children's mental health during their stay in shelters. BACKGROUND: Some pregnant women have negative emotions that may predominate and they may develop a fear of childbirth. This causes negative consequences for their health and well-being. A complete definition of the causes of childbirth fear has not yet been established in the literature, but in a systematic review, various factors were found. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to reveal the effect of educational, cognitive, and behavioral interventions on the reduction of fear of childbirth (FOC) in pregnant women. METHODS: For this meta-analysis study, articles in PubMed, EBSCOhost, Web of Science, YÖK Thesis Center, and Google Scholar databases were searched without any year limitation in between September 2022 and February 2023. A total of 25 studies were included in this meta-analysis. The data were analyzed by meta-analysis and narrative methods. RESULTS: This meta-analysis showed that educational, cognitive, and behavioral interventions were effective in reducing FOC in pregnant women (standardized mean difference: −1.229, 95% confidence interval [−1.586, −0.872]; Z = −6,746, p =.000, I 2 = 94.225%). In subgroup analyzes, intervention types such as antenatal education, mindfulness, psychoeducation, and psychotherapy were found to be effective in reducing FOC. Interventions applied to women who have FOC reduce the FOC and provide a more positive birth experience. CONCLUSION: Results of the present study showed that educational programs could serve as an important tool in reducing women's fear from natural childbirth and in choosing physiologic birth. This study aimed to examine the disease burden encountered by individuals with COPD, with a comprehensive investigation of the effect of the disease on sexual life. In this study, a phenomenological research design, a qualitative research type, was employed. The study involved 36 individuals diagnosed with COPD. The data collection process involved conducting individual, face-to-face interviews. Colaizzi's phenomenological analysis method was utilized for the data analysis. The analysis of the data yielded two categories (burdens of the disease and sexual life) and six primary themes (physical effects, mental effects, social effects, difficulties during sexual activity, the spouse's perspective on the problems, and dealing with sexual problems). The outcomes of this study highlighted the significant burden of COPD on patients and its adverse impact on their sexual lives. Given the complex nature of COPD, a thorough and professional assessment of patients' sexual well-being, coupled with timely identification of sexual dysfunctions and appropriate interventions, is of utmost importance. Objective: This study aims to examine in depth the perceptions of postoperative symptom management and coping experiences of individuals with prostate cancer. Material‐Method: The study was conducted with 15 individuals with prostate cancer using a phenomenological research design, which is a qualitative research design. Interviews were conducted via the WhatsApp application. Results: The data were analysed using Colaizzi's phenomenological method. In the data analysis, two categories, five main themes, and 15 sub‐themes emerged. In the category of symptom management perception, there are themes of pain management processes, the use of complementary and alternative therapies and practices to cope with symptoms and improve quality of life. In the category of coping experiences, the themes of individual coping, interpersonal relations, and productivity were obtained. Conclusion: Our study suggests that individuals with prostate cancer have difficulty in symptom management in the postoperative coping process, but they managed them effectively with the support of their spouse, family, and health care professionals. Purpose: This study was carried out to determine the burnout levels and sleep quality of nurses in the coronavirus disease‐2019 process. Design and Methods: The population of this descriptive and cross‐sectional study consisted of all nurses working in hospitals in Turkey. Findings: Nurses' mean scores were compared by gender. The emotional burnout and personal achievement scores of male nurses were higher than those of female nurses. Single nurses had significantly higher emotional exhaustion and depersonalization scores than married individuals. Nurses mostly experienced emotional exhaustion, and burnout levels increased in line with insomnia. Implications for Nursing Practice: Nurses struggling on the frontline during the pandemic were determined to be at risk of insomnia and burnout. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
