Background: Moral sensitivity may play a role in dealing with ethical issues in ICUs. However, the moral sensitivity of adult ICU nurses in China and its predictors have not been well investigated. Aim: To analyse the moral sensitivity of intensive care unit (ICU) nurses and its predictors. Study Design: A cross‐sectional study through convenience sampling was conducted in the ICUs of five hospitals in China between November and December 2022. A total of 331 ICU nurses were recruited. Data were obtained using a self‐developed socio‐demographic characteristic questionnaire, the Moral Sensitivity Questionnaire, the Jefferson Scale of Empathy‐Health Professionals and the Organizational Climate Scale for Nursing. The participating institutions received a link to the tools used for online data collection, which they then forwarded to nursing staff. Results: The valid response rate was 96.98% (n = 321). The total mean moral sensitivity score of nurses was 43.04 ± 5.95. The mean scores for empathic ability and organizational climate for nursing were 91.97 ± 17.88 and 101.28 ± 14.77, respectively. Regression analyses revealed that the primary factors associated with moral sensitivity among critical care nurses included work tenure (p <.05), empathic ability (p <.001) and organizational climate (p <.001). Conclusions: High levels of moral sensitivity were found in critical care nurses in China. Work tenure, empathic ability and organizational climate were significant predictors of moral sensitivity in critical care nurses. Relevance to Clinical Practice: To enhance the ethical sensitivity of ICU nurses, we suggest to strengthen the training of novice nurses so that they can better face the moral dilemma in clinical practice. In addition, organizational managers should also take measures to create a positive and harmonious working atmosphere, promote the application of moral knowledge in nursing practice and enhance their moral sensitivity. Background: This study was designed to explore the perceptions and lived experiences of new graduate or new-to-specialty labor and delivery nurses. These nurses had completed a perinatal nurse residency program at a high-risk metropolitan medical center in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. Method: Eight nurses were interviewed for this study with qualitative individual interviews. Qualitative content analysis was used. Results: Three main themes emerged: assimilating a specialized knowledge base and skill sets, navigating challenging circumstances, and coping with the transition to independence. Conclusion: Nurse residency programs can ease the transition to practice in the labor and delivery specialty. Revisions to future perinatal residency programs should include enhanced preceptor education, prolonged night shift orientation, assessment of nurse learning style and needs, and increased consistency of debriefing after traumatic events. Introduction: Internationally, there is growing momentum in the physiotherapy profession to improve the cultural safety and capabilities of physiotherapists. In Australia, this is essential given the important role physiotherapists play in the delivery of healthcare to First Nations Australians. Understanding the experiences of the newest members of the profession who work with First Nations Australians is an important step in exploring the broader professions' cultural safety journey. Objective: To explore new graduate physiotherapists' experiences working in First Nations Australian health settings. Methods: The study used an interpretative phenomenological approach through semi-structured interviews to explore the experiences of seven new graduate physiotherapists, in their first 2 years of practice. All participants worked within a First Nations Australian health setting for some or all of their experience as a new graduate physiotherapist. Results: Three themes were generated: 1) enrichment through connection; 2) navigating challenges; and 3) a catalyst for self-reflection. Conclusion: New graduate physiotherapists reported positive experiences when working within a First Nations Australian health setting, underpinned by building a strong therapeutic relationship through rapport building; navigating challenges alongside their clients; and delving into critical self-reflection. Introduction: Reflective clinical reasoning (CR) is believed to play a crucial role in achieving an efficient therapy process, supported by evidence-based approaches that improve patient outcomes. The aim of this study was to evaluate the CR process of German manual therapists (MTs) using the CR skills of Dutch MTs as a reference. Methods: This cross-sectional study evaluated the CR process and diagnostic ability of German MTs. Dutch MTs served as the reference standard due to their experience with direct access. The CR skills were assessed using the Diagnostic Thinking Inventory (DTI), a questionnaire measuring diagnostic competence. Descriptive and inferential statistics were conducted to compare the groups. Subgroup analyses were performed to analyze the influence of work experience (in years) and the level of education on CR. Results: 396 manual therapists (229 German and 167 Dutch) completed the DTI. Dutch MTs revealed higher DTI sum-scores compared to German MTs (p <.001; Cohen´s d =.41). Subgroup analyses regarding professional education revealed no significant differences in DTI sum-scores within German MTs and between both groups. In the subgroup analyses regarding professional experience, differences of moderate effect size were reached between German and Dutch novice MTs (in favor of Dutch novice MTs; p =.001; Cohen´s d =.62), and between German novice MTs and experienced German MTs (in favor of experienced German MTs; p <.001; Cohen´s d =.6). Conclusion: The results suggest that academically educated German and Dutch MTs as well as experienced German and Dutch MTs are similar in terms of their hypothetical-deductive CR skills. In turn, German novice MTs seem to use hypothetical-deductive processing to a lesser extent compared to Dutch novice MTs and experienced German MTs, which in turn may support the hypothesis that the level of professional experience and education has a significant impact on the development of hypothetical-deductive CR skills. Background: Evidence-based practice (EBP) is a major concept threaded throughout nursing education, yet competencies are not clearly identified in The Essentials. Purpose: Nurse leaders' EBP competency expectations for professional practice were explored to inform competency-based education for students and practicing nurses. A secondary aim explored potential effects of misinformation on EBP. Methods: Descriptive qualitative inquiry was performed with a focus group of 6 clinical nurse leaders. Results: EBP expectations were identified, discriminating between novice entry level and advanced-level nurses. Participants emphasized asking questions, linking evidence to practice, and acknowledging that evidence changes over time. All advanced-level nurses were expected to apply, lead, and teach EBP. Post pandemic, nurses need to reclaim evidence-based practices, critically appraise evidence, and educate patients and families to address misinformation. Background: Transition to practice (TTP), the first year of a nurse's career postlicensure, is widely recognized as a stressful time. Previous trauma exposure and additional workplace trauma exacerbate the stress of this transitional period. Trauma-informed environments are associated with clinician wellness and engagement. Because workforce training for leaders is a necessary precursor to developing supportive environments, we studied changes in trauma knowledge, awareness, and attitudes among TTP leaders. Method: Our mixed methods study included administering the Attitudes Related to Trauma-Informed Care Scale (ARTIC) pre- and post-training, with additional open-ended questions about the impact of training. Results: Paired data from participants showed overall mean improvement that was statistically significant, with a large effect size. Statistically significant knowledge gains related to trauma recognition and safety, how to respond to trauma, and how to promote healthy behaviors. Conclusion: Our study underscores the importance of trauma education, which not only increased awareness but also prompted nurse leaders to reflect on enhanced support for early nursing professionals. Background: New intensive care unit (ICU) nurses often experience stress because of concerns about potentially harming their patients in a work environment that demands the rapid development of several skills in a limited training period. Aim: This study aimed to investigate the prioritisation of educational needs within adult ICUs, focusing on how new nurses evaluate their current knowledge and perceive the most critical competencies. Study Design: A cross‐sectional study was conducted among a convenience sample of 102 new ICU nurses in general and tertiary hospitals in South Korea. Educational needs were assessed using a structured questionnaire for new ICU nurses. This study investigated educational needs using paired t‐tests, Borich's assessment model and the Locus for Focus model. Results: Only 48% of participants were satisfied with their education. The highest‐rated educational content included preparing to use a defibrillator (95% CI = 2.44–3.28, p <.001), administering emergency drugs for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) (95% CI = 2.09–2.91, p <.001), starting and maintaining continuous renal replacement therapy (95% CI = 1.50–2.42, p <.001), applying and maintaining a ventilator (95% CI = 1.42–2.08, p <.001), preparing for intubation (95% CI = 1.23–1.97, p <.001), reporting to the emergency team, preparing equipment for CPR (95% CI = 1.12–1.94, p <.001) and drug calculation (95% CI = 0.87–1.53, p <.001). Conclusions: These findings indicate that educational programmes for new ICU nurses should be developed considering the aforementioned priorities. Furthermore, nurse educators should adopt a practical and active instructional method to repeatedly clarify content, prioritising the improvement of knowledge and performance of new ICU nurses. Relevance to Clinical Practice: This study guides clinical educators and managers in focusing on areas where new ICU nurses need additional training. Purpose: This study aimed to explore the influence of teamwork and grit on job adaptation and intention to remain among advanced beginner nurses. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive research design employing a survey method was used. The study involved 203 advanced beginner nurses with 13-36 months of experience working at a tertiary hospital. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and hierarchical regression analysis. Results: Job adaptation positively correlated with teamwork (r=.58, p<.001) and grit (r=.65, p<.001). Intention to remain was also positively correlated with teamwork (r=.32, p<.001) and grit (r=.59, p<.001). A hierarchical multiple regression model including control variables, teamwork, and grit accounted for 64% of the factors influencing job adaptation. Another hierarchical multiple regression model, incorporating control variables, teamwork, and grit, explained 44% of the factors influencing the intention to remain. Among the related factors, grit emerged as the most influential in regarding job adaption and intention to remain. Conclusion: These findings underscore the importance of establishing a support system to bolster grit, enhancing adaptation to the job and fostering intention to remain among advanced beginner nurses. Aims: To describe a reflexive account of a mental health nurse as researcher undertaking a mixed methods study as part of a doctoral degree, with women in a secure forensic hospital. Design: A discursive paper that draws upon the primary author's experience of dual roles as a mental health nurse and a novice researcher, and relevant literature pertaining to positionality and reflexivity in the context of conducting mixed methods research. Methods: A mixed methods study was conducted within a secure forensic hospital in Australia, to identify factors associated with the frequency and duration of seclusion for women and, to explore their experiences of seclusion. Notes and a reflective diary were used to demonstrate the reflexive approach and strategies used throughout the study design and data collection stages of the research. Results: Women in the secure forensic hospital setting often have complex histories and experiences and are considered a vulnerable group, which can add additional challenges when undertaking research with this population. As a doctoral student with clinical experience in mental health undertaking research in the forensic hospital setting with women, positionality and the connection with reflexivity requires exploration to understand self and the influence on research. This understanding along with identified strategies to enhance reflexivity, supports the management of the dual nurse as researcher roles to enhance all stages of the research process. Conclusion: Doctoral nursing candidates undertaking clinical research in their area of clinical practice and at the location of previous employment, may experience challenges in relation to identity and the dichotomy of roles. Further challenges can be posed when research involves complex populations and/or controversial practices. Support to balance role conflict and maintain reflexivity is critical to understanding the role of self in research and to enhance credibility. Implications for the Profession and/or Clinical Practice: Women are a complex, yet minority population in forensic mental health settings, however the numbers of women being admitted to services is increasing. Future research may consider the use of the strategies explored here to enhance the reflexive process, and support future researchers in this field to conduct research that aims to support an often‐misheard population to better support health outcomes. Aims and Objective: To investigate the determinants of missed nursing care and to analyse the mediating effect of holistic nursing competence on the relationship between transition shock and missed nursing care. Background: Transition shock of newly graduated nurses is associated with missed nursing care. Previous studies have shown the determinants of missed nursing care among nurses, but little is known about the relationship between missed nursing care, transition shock and holistic nursing competence. Design: Descriptive and correlational design. Methods: The study was conducted among newly graduated nurses (n = 201) working in acute care hospitals for 1–12 months. The MISSCARE survey, Holistic Nursing Competence Scale and Nursing Transition Shock Scale were used for data collection, in addition to a sociodemographic question form. Data were analysed using Pearson correlation, multiple regression and mediation analyses. The study was reported following the STROBE checklist. Results: The determinants of missed nursing care among newly graduated nurses were sex, unit type, rotating shift work, holding a certificate, holistic nursing competence and transition shock. All these variables explain 35% of the variance in missed nursing care. Holistic nursing competence directly mediated 51.7% of the relationship between transition shock and missed nursing care. Conclusions: Holistic nursing competence may decrease missed nursing care by reducing the effects of transition shock on newly graduated nurses. Relevance to Clinical Practice: The study highlighted that newly graduated nurses are an important population regarding missed nursing care. The determinants of missed care should be considered in the nursing care delivery to prevent missed care by newly graduated nurses. Aim: To explore the career decisions and aspirations of early‐career registered nurses in New Brunswick, Canada. Design: A qualitative study using an interpretive description approach was conducted. Methods: Semi‐structured one‐on‐one interviews were conducted with a purposive sample of nurses (n = 22) currently working in New Brunswick, Canada, with up to 5 years of experience from February to April 2022. Results: Participants described diverse career paths and aspirations. Personal factors affecting these included the desire for meaningful work, career satisfaction, work‐life balance, spending time with family, working in a preferred location, and finances. Professionally, working conditions were the dominant factor influencing early‐career nurses' career decisions and aspirations. Participants described how short staffing, safety, support, and scheduling influenced their day‐to‐day work, mental and physical health, job and career satisfaction, and intent to leave. Conclusion: The findings highlighted the abundant and diverse career opportunities available to nurses early in their careers. Early‐career nurses are interested in finding nursing positions with a high degree of person‐job fit and value opportunities for ongoing professional education and growth. Impact: This study in New Brunswick, Canada, explores early‐career nurses' career decisions and aspirations during nursing shortages and the pandemic, emphasizing the importance of person‐job fit. The article discusses research which explored the relationship between authentic nurse leadership (ANL) and moral injury (MI) from the perspective of novice nurses. The study measured perceived ANL using the Authentic Nurse Leadership Questionnaire by the elements that characterized ANL including integrity, transparency and altruism, while MI was measured using the MI Symptom Scale: Healthcare Professionals version. The study's limitations and implications for nurse leaders are discussed.

Objective: Guiding nursing has been defined as a system that supports new nurses and transfers their professional knowledge and experience to novice nurses. The aim of this study was to determine the opinions of newly recruited nurses about working with nurse mentors during the orientation process. Material and Methods: The focus group interview, a qualitative method, was used in this study. Data were collected using a semi-structured questionnaire. In the focus group 50 nurses were interviewed. Qualitative data from the interviews were recorded. The data were analysed by two researchers. Three themes and 11 sub-themes emerged from the qualitative data analysis. Results: The nurses (n=50) stated that the guiding nurses practice "made it easier for me to adapt", "helped me learn faster", "helped me to overcome my anxiety", "increased my self-confidence, reduced stress", and "guided me in correct communication". Only a few nurses reported that they had communication problems with the nurse mentors. Conclusion: Guiding nurses accelerate the professional and clinical orientation of nurses by transferring their knowledge to new nurses and supporting them in routine and emergency practice. In addition, the support of guiding nurses increases nurses' self-confidence, reduces their anxiety and makes them feel safe in patient-related practices. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim: The purpose of this study was to explore the clinical and training experiences of recently qualified, LGBTQ+ identifying therapists who work with sexuality and gender diverse clients, in order to discover ways in which counselling training organisations might better prepare their trainees to work competently with this particular client group. Method: One‐to‐one, semistructured interviews with five therapists were conducted. Data collected from these interviews were subsequently analysed using the seven steps of interpretative phenomenological analysis. Findings: The analysis revealed six superordinate themes: Enhance tutors' LGBTQ+ knowledge and cultural awareness; Provide students with adequate supervision; Teach a range of LGBTQ+ topics; Integrate LGBTQ cultural competence training throughout the curriculum; Invite LGBTQ+ specialists; and Signpost students to additional resources. Conclusions: Participants felt unprepared by their entry‐level counselling training to work with LGBTQ+ clients. The perceived lack of LGBTQ+ knowledge and understanding of their tutors was regarded as a contributing factor to the limited time and depth of LGBTQ cultural competence training received. Several suggestions to improve training in this area were offered. Recommendations: Entry‐level counselling training courses should integrate LGBTQ cultural competence training throughout their curriculums in order to adequately prepare their trainees to work competently with LGBTQ+ clients. Objectives: There is concern that junior doctors are not prepared for their post-graduate attachments in ENT. The aims of this study were to capture the learning priorities of those in the ENT first on-call role and facilitate further educational opportunities to address these needs. Method: Semi-structured interviews were undertaken to explore the learning needs of junior doctors with seven junior and two senior ENT clinicians. Results: The thematic analysis generated three themes: the role of the ENT Junior; the perceived, expressed and prescribed learning needs; and attitudes towards future learning. These themes explored the misalignment between undergraduate training and post-graduate expectations, the lack of competence in ENT practical skills and the need for focused ENT training prior to commencing on-call shifts. Conclusion: All interviewees identified the need for greater experience in practical interventional skills prior to their ENT attachments and expressed interest towards a standardised, bootcamp-style induction with simulated emergency experience. Introduction: Mental health is a serious concern among novice school nurses in Japan. Numerous novice school nurses with various health problems experience high stress levels, affecting their mental health. They may be experiencing reality shock, a known risk factor for burnout and turnover, or its factor, the "reality gap." Objective: This study aimed to examine the hypothetical model by which the reality gap affects the mental health of novice school nurses. Methods: This cross-sectional study conducted a self-administered questionnaire survey, and responses were obtained from 102 novice school nurses. A path model was created based on a hypothetical model. Results: After several revisions on the hypothesis model, a modified path model was generated (CFI =.98, TLI =.93, RMSEA =.06). The path model showed that reality gaps negatively affected work engagement, work engagement positively affected intention to stay, and intention to stay positively affected mental health. Reality gap was also directly negatively associated with mental health. Having various support networks reduced the effects of reality gaps on mental health. Additionally, social support in the workplace boosted work engagement. Conclusion: Unique from other studies, this study contributed to understanding the effects of reality gaps on mental health. School managers and administrators should establish a support system that enables school nurses to receive various supports from within and outside the school. Background: At the onset of their professional journey, novice nurses often undergo a multifaceted psychological experience as they transition from theoretical knowledge to clinical practice, potentially impacting their development of professional identity. However, limited research has been conducted on the psychological aspects pertaining to newly graduated nurses in stomatological hospitals in our country. Methods: The phenomenological method and semi-structured interviews were used in this study, and the sample size of the interview was purposive sampling method. A semi-structured virtual interview was conducted with 21 new nurses in the department of stomatology. Colaizzi's analysis method was used to analyse the interview data. Results: Based on Kramer's reality shock theoretical framework and analyzing interview data, this study extracted the psychological experiences of novice nurses during their first year of employment across four distinct stages. The four stages include: cheerful period, frustration period, adjustment period and competency period. Six themes and nine sub-themes were derived from the four period. Conclusion: Due to the lack of professional knowledge, novice oral nurses will experience a series of complex positive and negative emotions at the beginning of their career. Through the research, the training of oral specialty theory, good psychological counseling and peer support can improve their participation in oral outpatient nursing. At the same time, the establishment of oral care quality assurance system and the improvement of oral care higher education in our country will become the focus of future research. There is global recognition that mental health nursing can be stressful and have detrimental effects on nurses' well‐being and retention. With substantial nursing shortages, there is an urgent need to attract and retain nurses to sustain this workforce and provide effective mental healthcare. Mental health transition programs provide vital recruitment pathways and support novice registered nurses, enrolled nurses and experienced registered generalist nurses moving into this field. There is little evidence, however, on the well‐being, resilience, and retention of nurses transitioning into mental health. The primary aims for this cross‐sectional study were to describe demographic characteristics, perceived stress, well‐being, resilience, mental illness stigma attitudes, work satisfaction, and turnover intention of four nurse cohorts entering mental health transition programs: generalist registered nurses, graduate and post‐graduate registered nurses, and enrolled nurses; to explore relationships between these variables; and explore differences between these four nurse cohorts. Findings (n = 87) included overall moderate perceived stress, moderate well‐being and resilience, high work satisfaction, low stigma, and low turnover intention. Higher turnover intention was associated with lower age and work satisfaction, and higher perceived stress. Generalist RNs had significantly higher stress and stigmatizing attitudes than Enrolled Nurses. Secondary analysis of well‐being scores identified 14 nurses with scores indicating depression, with significantly lower resilience and work satisfaction, and significantly higher stress than the rest of the sample. To help prevent attrition, it is vital that mental health services provide tailored well‐being initiatives during transition and intervene early to provide support for nurses with mental distress. Background: Breastfeeding and human milk have well-documented health benefits for newborn infants, particularly those who are sick. However, breastfeeding rates and human milk feeding among infants in neonatal intensive units (NICU) in Thailand are still low; thus, breastfeeding promotion and support are required for Thai mothers of premature infants. Newly graduated nurses can play a critical role within the healthcare support system and can have a significant impact on improving breastfeeding practices in the NICU. The objective of this study was to investigate the lived experiences and perspectives of Thai novice nurses on supporting breastfeeding and human milk feeding in the NICU. Methods: The study was conducted between March 2021 and May 2022 at three medical centers in the central region of Thailand. This study employed a descriptive phenomenological approach to explore Thai novice nurses' experiences and perspectives on breastfeeding. Purposive sampling was used to invite Thai novice nurses who have work experience in providing breastfeeding support to NICU mothers and their infants to participate in online interviews using a video conference platform (Zoom). Semi-structured questions were used to interview study participants in their native language. Data were analyzed using Colaizzi's method of data analysis to identify emergent themes. Member checks, peer debriefing, and self-reflection were applied to ensure the validity and trustworthiness of the study results. Back-translation was also used as a quality and accuracy assurance. Results: A total of thirteen novice nurses agreed to participate in the study. All were female, and their ages ranged from 21 to 24 years old at the time of the interview. The researchers identified five major themes related to the overall study objectives and research questions. They are: positive attitude toward breastfeeding and human milk, facing breastfeeding challenges at work, self-confidence rooted in experience, professional skill needs, and requiring further support. Conclusions: Our results suggest that breastfeeding education plays a vital role in encouraging new nurses to provide breastfeeding support to mothers of preterm infants. Establishing breastfeeding support training and innovative learning strategies can be crucial in developing appropriate breastfeeding practice guidelines and policies to support Thai breastfeeding mothers in the NICU. Introduction. Rural nursing careers offer a multitude of benefits for individuals. Despite this, there continues to be a growing deficit in the number of nurses choosing to practice in rural areas. As the first 12–18 months of a nursing career are fundamental in shaping career location decisions, it is important to explore factors that influence early career nurses' employment decisions. Methods. A phenomenological study was undertaken to explore early career nurses' experiences during their first year of rural practice and describe how the nurses' experiences influenced their decision to remain in rural employment. Data were collected via semistructured interviews and underwent inductive thematic analysis. Results. Seven early career nurses practicing in rural locations were interviewed and described several influences on their career location decisions, particularly related to whether they would stay in or leave their rural employer. The themes derived from the nurses' stories included the effect of their vulnerability entering a new workplace, the importance of connection to person, place, and profession and the nuances of rural nursing rhythms. These had implications on their employment decisions. Conclusion. This research demonstrates the distinct form of nursing practice that occurs in rural areas which was experienced by the early career nurses as a breadth of skills, volume of presentations, and continuity of care. The nurses described the importance of establishing connections to person, place, and their profession. Purpose: Therapists' insights into practising narrative therapy (NT) with children can elucidate the strengths and challenges associated with this practice. Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate how therapists experience the application of NT with children. Method: Nine Danish narrative therapists working with children participated in semi‐structured qualitative interviews. The data were analysed using Braun and Clarke's thematic analysis. Results: Three overall themes were identified; "you have to be crazy about children," "practised ethics" and "practical challenges." Two subthemes were generated: "acting is the key" and "the importance of the system surrounding the child." Conclusion: The narrative therapists experienced NT as applicable for children due to its potential to facilitate a safe place that integrates the child's current stage of development. NT does not serve to "fit" the child but should be perceived as a practised ethic. Therapists accentuated challenges working with NT, specifically related to outsider‐witnessing and staying in a decentred position. Transition shock, experienced during the first two years of employment, has been attributed to decreased clinical performance and an overall decrease in work productivity among newly graduated nurses, as well as compromised patient safety outcomes. This study tested the intermediary effect of emotional exhaustion on the association between transition shock in novice emergency room (ER) nurses, adverse patient events, and nursing care quality. A descriptive study was carried out involving 303 novice ER nurses from various emergency units in five different hospitals in Central Philippines, utilizing four standardized scales. Mediation testing was performed using Hayes' PROCESS macro in SPSS (Model 4). Transition shock in novice ER nurses was associated with an increased incidence of adverse patient events (β = 0.3897, p = 0.0005) and poorer nursing care quality (β = −0.2146, p = 0.0021). Furthermore, emotional exhaustion partially mediated the association between transition shock and the two patient-related outcomes: adverse patient events (β = 0.0477, 95 % CI = 0.0078–0.0997) and nursing care quality (β = −0.0142, 95 % CI = −0.0412 to −0.0095). Transition shock in novice ER nurses contributed to heightened emotional exhaustion, which subsequently led to an increased incidence of adverse patient events and a decline in the quality of nursing care. A greater understanding of physiotherapists' work-life during their first year of work in private practice, and whether their experiences are mediated by personal traits, may provide valuable information to support their transition and retention. Describe the first year of practice for graduate physiotherapists in terms of employee engagement, job satisfaction, performance, and burnout, and evaluate the relationship between these measures and personal traits (resilience, grit, mind-set). One-year longitudinal mixed-methods study. Twenty new graduate physiotherapists completed questionnaires evaluating resilience, grit, and mind-set within 1-week of commencing employment. Engagement and job satisfaction were evaluated at 3, 6 and 12-months, and burnout evaluated at 12-months. Performance data (number of patients seen, revenue) were collected throughout the year. Individual semi-structured interviews were conducted at baseline, 3, 9 and 12-months. Engagement and satisfaction were high at all time points. At 12-months, burnout was at a medium level. Resilience was positively associated with job satisfaction at 6 (ρ = 0.56, p =.019) and 12-months (ρ = 0.54, p =.027). Engagement (ρ = −0.57, p =.04) and job satisfaction (ρ = −0.56, p =.03) were negatively associated with burnout at 12-months. All participants remained passionate about their work although increasing administrative burden and patient complexity contributed to feelings of burnout. Resilience was positively associated with job satisfaction suggesting those with capacity to 'bounce back' were more satisfied and engaged with their job. Although moderate levels of burnout were reported at 12-months, those with higher job satisfaction and employee engagement had lower levels of burnout. Purpose: This study sought to investigate novice nurses' communication education needs in the intensive care unit (ICU) using Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) and Borich's need assessment model. This study identified communication challenges in clinical settings to develop a simulation program that enhances communication competencies based on educational requirements. Methods: A descriptive research design and a self-report questionnaire were used. The latter was developed and administered to 121 novice nurses with less than one year of experience in the ICU at various university hospitals in Korea. Data were collected via the online open chatroom from June 24th to July 28th, 2023. The communication education needs were identified using descriptive statistics, t-tests, IPA, and Borich's needs assessment model. Text analysis was used to categorize the participants' communication experience. Results: The results revealed that "communication with physicians," "communication with patients," and "communication with nurse on another shift" domains contained the most substantial educational needs for novice nurses working in the intensive care units. Conclusion: The results provide fundamental data for developing and enhancing customized communication education programs for novice ICU nurses. This valuable information could help ICU nurses and educators improve new nurses' communication skills, which would ultimately contribute to the advancement of nursing education and clinical practice. Background: Increasing compliance with isolation precautions is important in reducing hospital-acquired infections and their consequences. It is not possible to achieve and maintain nurse compliance through supervision, control, pressure, or training. Therefore, nurses must personally demand compliance with isolation precautions. This study aimed to determine the relationship between compliance with isolation precautions and the moral sensitivity levels of nurses who have just started working. Methods: This study employed a descriptive and cross-sectional research design. The study population consisted of 456 new nurses recruited during the pandemic. All of the new nurses who volunteered to participate in the study and completed the questionnaires completely were included in the study and 398 nurses constituted the sample of the study. Data were collected from 398 out of 456 novice nurses who agreed to participate in the study. The population coverage rate was 87.28%. Participants were selected using convenience sampling method. The data collection tools included an Introductory Information Form, The Isolation Compliance Precautions Scale (TIPCS), and the Moral Sensitivity Questionnaire (MSQ). Descriptive statistics, correlation analyses, and regression models were used to analyze data. Findings: The mean score of the MSQ was high (mean ± SD = 90.49 ± 25.94; median (P25-P75) = 84 (range, 74–97), and the score for TIPCS was high (mean ± SD = 79.29 ± 7.68; median (P25-P75) = 82 (range, 76–85)). No correlation was found between MSQ and TIPCS (p > 0.05). According to the regression analysis, although the MSQ did not correlate with TIPCS, compliance with isolation measures was found to increase as the conflict subscale of moral sensitivity increased (β= -0.36, CI= -0.55 to -0.16; p < 0.001). Choosing the profession willingly had a positive correlation with compliance with isolation measures (β = 5.3, CI = 2.4 to 8.3; p < 0.001). In addition, starting the profession at an early age had a positive correlation with compliance with isolation measures (β= -0.49, CI= -0.8 to -0.17; p = 0.002). Conclusion: The conflict sub-dimension of moral sensitivity is an important factor in nurses' compliance with isolation measures, and conducting necessary training and other studies to improve nurses' moral sensitivity may increase their compliance with isolation measures. Aim: To evaluate the effectiveness of the preceptors' social support program (PSSP) on preceptors' social support skill—supportive relationships and post‐error support—and novice nurses' perception of received social support. Methods: This study employed a quasi‐experimental pretest–posttest design with a control group of a non‐random assigned sample of 47 preceptors and novice nurses and an intervention group of 48 each. Intervention group preceptors received training in building supportive relationships skill and post‐error support skills three times in the PSSP over 7 months. Preceptors' social support skill and novice nurses' perception of received social support were measured as primary outcomes. Data were collected at baseline (T0), 1 month after the second session (T1), and 1 month after the last session (T2) and analyzed. Results: No significant differences in demographics or scores were shown at baseline (T0). Preceptors in the intervention group showed significantly better supportive relationships (T2, 101.6 ± 9 vs. 96.9 ± 7.6, 95% CI [0.95, 8.42], p =.015) and better performance of post‐error support (T2, 67.6 ± 5 vs. 62 ± 6.5, 95% CI [2.78, 8.32], p <.001). Intervention group preceptors' social support skill increased or remained stable, while it decreased over time in the control group. Novice nurses in the intervention group received significantly better supportive relationships and post‐error support from preceptors (T2, median 112 vs. 101, p =.007; 70.5 vs. 65, p =.028, respectively). Conclusions: The PSSP improved preceptors' supportive relationship skills and post‐error support performance, leading to novice nurses' perceptions of better supportive relationships and receiving greater post‐error support. This qualitative study, designed by nursing professional development specialists, explored novice nurses' experiences working during the first COVID-19 surge of 2020. Semistructured focus group interviewswere conducted in June-December 2020with 23 novice nurses who cared for patients with COVID-19 in March-April 2020. Hand rehabilitation delivered to underserved South African communities is often the responsibility of novice or generalist occupational therapists. Novice therapists typically work with restricted supervision, support, and resources. Little is known about how these therapists should be supported in order to strengthen the services that they deliver. This study is aimed at understanding how novice occupational therapists in their first year of practice describe their experience of delivering hand rehabilitation in order to identify their support and development needs and propose interventions to address these needs. A qualitative instrumental case study design was used. Data were collected from novice occupational therapists (n = 9) who participated in an online community of practice. Data collection techniques included photoelicitation, facilitated reflection activities, and case discussion. Reflexive thematic analysis was employed. Trustworthiness strategies included reflexive writing, prolonged engagement, data source triangulation, member checking, and peer audit. Analysis generated three themes: (1) "submerged: I had to drown a little" captured participants' experience of being saturated by contextual features including poverty and poor basic management of hand injuries. (2) "Starting somewhere" captured participants' journey of treating patients with hand injuries. They transitioned from an initial sense of having "no idea" to developing "some idea"; their clinical reasoning was challenged when working with no diagnosis, unfamiliar presentations, or when contextual features rendered traditional approaches to therapy inappropriate. Finally, (3) "dynamics of 'surthrival'" captured elements that contributed to participants either thriving or merely surviving their hand rehabilitation experience. The proposed strategies identified in this study to address the support and development needs of novice therapists include interventions focused on systems and health services; learning opportunities to support competency and physical resources; and emotional support. Beyond application to the South African context, these strategies may be considered for supporting generalist or novice therapists delivering hand rehabilitation in other low- to middle-income countries. Background: Even when education and the use of safety equipment are emphasized, nurses frequently experience needlestick injuries. Understanding the risk situations and coping mechanisms for needlestick injuries experienced by nurses facilitates their prevention. Objectives: We aimed to explore and describe the phenomenon of needlestick injuries through the research questions: (1) What causes nurses to suffer from needlestick injuries? (2) How to cope after a needlestick injury? and (3) What are the recommendations for needlestick injury prevention? Methods: This qualitative descriptive study involved focus group interviews with 31 direct care nurses in 6 groups who had experienced needlestick injuries while working in different acute care hospitals across 3 regions in South Korea. Data were collected from January 29 to March 29, 2022, and analyzed using thematic analysis. Results: The average age of the participating nurses was 29.7 years. The following 3 themes were identified: various needlestick injury experiences, post-needlestick injury coping, and expectations regarding needlestick injuries. Conclusions: Risk situations and coping mechanisms of nurses who experienced needlestick injuries were diverse. Emergency situations and novice nurses were the causes of most of the needlestick injuries. Often, personal protective equipment was found cumbersome. Context: Deficits in the hip range of motion are associated with hip and groin injuries. Accurate and reliable goniometric measurements are important in identifying those at risk of injury and determining the efficacy of treatment interventions. Smartphone goniometric applications are regularly used to assess joint ranges of motion; however, there is limited knowledge on the reliability of this method in relation to the hip, particularly between clinicians with different levels of experience. Objective: To determine the intratester and intertester reliability of a smartphone clinometer application for the assessment of hip goniometric measurements in healthy volunteers by an experienced and novice clinician. Design: Reliability study. Setting: University Athletic Therapy facility. Participants: Physically active, university students. Main Outcome Measures: The study determined the intra- and intertester (experienced vs novice clinician) reliability of goniometric measurements of the hip joint (modified Thomas test and seated hip internal and external rotation) using a smartphone goniometric application. Intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs), standard error of measurement, and minimal detectable change at a 95% confidence interval were used to assess reliability. Results: Goniometric measurements demonstrated good to excellent relative intratester reliability for the modified Thomas test (ICC =.94), external rotation (ICC =.93–.95), and internal rotation (ICC =.80–.81). Intertester reliability for expert and novice clinicians was also excellent for the modified Thomas test (ICC =.98), external rotation (ICC =.95), and internal rotation (ICC =.92). Intratester and intertester standard error of measurement and minimal detectable change at 95% confidence interval values were similar for both testers and ranged from 1.9° to 3.6° and 5° to 10.1° and from 1.1° to 2.3° and 2.9° to 6.5°, respectively. Conclusion: Smartphone-based goniometric measurements of hip range of motion have high intratester and intertester reliability for novice and expert clinicians. The COVID-19 pandemic has compounded the stress level of nurses and the nursing shortage. In addition, the disruption of bedside clinical experiences has raised concerns about the preparedness of nurses entering practice. A mixed methods study was conducted to learn about the perceptions of frontline nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Background and Purpose: To enhance critical care competency, it is necessary to develop and apply a clinical expertise-based competency training program. This study aimed to identify the perceived importance and performance of critical care nursing competency and the training priorities of competency-based training programs by nurses' clinical expertise. Methods: This was a cross-sectional descriptive survey with a convenience sample of 236 intensive care unit nurses. The critical care nursing competency of nurses was measured. Training needs were determined using an importance-performance analysis. Results: Competency areas with high training priority on the importance-performance matrix were skin assessment, emotional support, Code of Ethics, and collaboration for novice nurses, skin assessment and patient education for advanced beginner nurses, skin assessment and decision-making for competent nurses, and patient education and interprofessional collaboration for proficient nurses. Implications for Practice: Different training needs were identified according to the self-reported level of clinical expertise at four levels. Nursing administrators and educators should provide competency-based continuing education programs based on high-priority training areas according to the nurses' clinical expertise. Despite the importance of speaking up for patient safety, hesitancy to do so remains a major contributing factor to communication failure. This study aimed to investigate the experiences of South Korean nurses in speaking up to prevent patient safety incidents. Twelve nurses responsible for patient safety tasks or with experience in patient safety education were recruited from five hospitals (three university hospitals, two general hospitals) in city "B". Data were collected through open-ended questions and in-depth interviews, transcribed, and analyzed using the inductive content analysis method. The study resulted in the identification of four main categories and nine subcategories that captured commonalities among the experience of the 12 nurses. The four main categories were as follows: the current scenario of speaking up, barriers to speaking up, strategies for speaking, and confidence training. There is a scarcity of research on speaking-up experiences for patient safety among nurses in South Korean. Overall, it is necessary to overcome cultural barriers and establish an environment that encourages speaking up. Background: Perioperative units are complex and high-risk environments in which teams of multidisciplinary health care professionals work collaboratively. Multidisciplinary simulation training is a form of education that allows perioperative teams to practise the non-technical and technical skills essential for managing emergency events within the perioperative environment. Despite the benefits of multidisciplinary simulation training, there is a paucity of literature about it; therefore, this study examined the experiences of Australian multidisciplinary perioperative team members who had undertaken simulation training. Objectives: This study examined the experiences of Australian multidisciplinary perioperative team members who had undertaken multidisciplinary simulation training with the aim of: 1. identifying the enablers of and/or barriers to multidisciplinary simulation training 2. gaining insight into the frequency of training and types of scenarios used during simulation training 3. exploring the potential changes to teamwork and communication following multidisciplinary simulation training. Design: A qualitative descriptive exploratory design was adopted. Methods: Data were collected from nursing and anaesthetic participants through individual interviews using a semi-structured interview guide. Interviews were recorded and transcribed, and data were analysed using thematic analysis. Results: Four themes and nine subthemes were identified within the data. The themes were simulation is educational, safe space, frequency and teamwork. The subthemes were emergency scenarios, practise skills and knowledge, training novice and inexperienced staff, fear of simulation, facilitators, debriefing, available facilities, staff availability and multidisciplinarity. Conclusion: Australian perioperative teams widely used multidisciplinary simulation training to practise the technical skills needed to manage emergencies consistently. However, the frequency was variable and dependent on the availability of staff and facilities. A 'safe space' was vital, allowing perioperative team members to engage in training and discussions without judgement or embarrassment. Multidisciplinary simulation training is an effective training technique and should be routinely undertaken by Australian perioperative teams to develop consistency in managing emergency events within the perioperative setting. Aim: This study aimed to examine the direct and indirect effects of workplace bullying on turnover intention using the serial multiple mediators of psychological empowerment and job burnout. Design: A cross‐sectional study was conducted. Methods: A convenience sample of 506 novice nurses from five Triple A hospitals in China's S province from November 2020 to February 2021 and were evaluated using online questionnaires on workplace bullying, psychological empowerment, job burnout, and turnover intention. Results: The prevalence of turnover intention was 51.9%. In the serial multiple mediator model, workplace bullying had a direct effect (c = 0.452, p < 0.001) and indirect effect (c' = 0.229, p < 0.001) on turnover intention through the serial multiple mediators of psychological empowerment (B = −0.093, p = 0.020) and job burnout (B = 0.127, p < 0.001); hence, the proposed model explained the total variance of 32.2% in turnover intention. Emergency departments are often the first point of contact for individuals presenting to healthcare services for assistance and treatment for mental ill health. Emergency departments, particularly those in regional areas, can experience high staff turnover and rely on novice nurses for workforce sustainability. The aim of this paper is to explore the experiences of novice nurses (nurses with <3 years of experience) in providing care to individuals presenting with mental ill health in the emergency department. Semi‐structured interviews were conducted with novice nurses (N = 13) in a regional emergency department, using qualitative description as the guiding framework. The following three main themes were identified: (i) confidence in providing quality and safe nursing care, (ii) perceived barriers to providing quality and safe nursing care, and (iii) factors that increase confidence. Our findings indicate that proving safe and appropriate nursing care is affected in novice nurses by factors that lead to a perceived lack of confidence, such as how individuals present to the emergency department (e.g. intoxicated or violent), an inability to conduct conversations to assess accurately and perceived shortfalls in the emergency department environment itself. Future research should examine the curriculum for relevance of undergraduate education regarding acute mental health presentations and develop training strategies that enhance communication with individuals who present to the emergency department with mental ill health. According to tacit knowledge theory, checklists and textbooks cannot convey important aspects of nonroutine mask ventilation (MV) learned experientially. Our objective was to elicit tacit knowledge underlying experienced MV performance to support novice anesthesia providers' MV execution by identifying targets for clinical coaching. We utilized the Critical Decision Method to elicit experienced anesthesia providers' tacit knowledge during nonroutine MV. Using semistructured interviews guided by a general anesthesia (GA) induction checklist and conducted using equipment utilized in GA induction, we probed participants' experiences. A cognitive map was produced depicting critical MV decisions and associated environmental cues. We validated the map via member check and comparison against GA checklists, textbooks, and novice MV knowledge. Experience is necessary to skillfully interpret environmental cues signaling changing conditions in nonroutine MV. Our cognitive map featured 34 critical decisions and 23 environmental (visual, tactile, auditory, and olfactory) cues. Validation identified 45 (16 preoperative, 29 intraoperative) items not found in the GA induction checklist, 15 not presented in textbooks, and 16 not identified by novices. Identifying tacit knowledge may provide a novel way to guide novice anesthesia learners' experiential learning. Introduction: The majority of newly graduated nurses are not prepared to work at the bedside; therefore, they may not have the appropriate self-confidence. Objective(s): The present qualitative study aimed to explain the novice nurses' experience of weak professional confidence. Design: This qualitative study was performed using a content analysis method. Methods: Content analysis was utilized to identify themes from interview transcripts. They were included in the study by purposeful sampling. Participants were interviewed through face-to-face and unstructured interviews. All data were recorded, transcribed, and analyzed based on the Graneheim and Lundman method. Results: Thirteen nurses participated in interviews. After data collection, all interviews were implemented and reviewed and the categories and subcategories were extracted. Three main categories containing turbulence in working life, unpleasant interactions, and lack of knowledge were extracted. Conclusion: According to the study findings, most novice nurses experienced turbulence in their working life, unpleasant interactions, and a lack of knowledge that affected their self-confidence. Therefore, educational and support programs are suggested to improve novice nurses' professional confidence. Relevance to Clinical Practice: According to the results of the study, the lack of self-confidence in novice nurses reduces the quality of care. Therefore, taking into account the experiences of the participants, nursing education managers should plan in such a way as to improve the self-confidence of the graduates. AIM The aim of this study was to explore the lived experience of novice nurse faculty's socialization to academia. BACKGROUND Socialization is a process that enables individuals to acquire the inherent roles, standards, rules, and values inherent of a group. Given the complexity of the faculty role, socialization is essential for novice nurse educators. METHOD A descriptive, qualitative study was conducted employing Colaizzi's phenomenological method of data analysis. RESULTS Eight themes emerged: lack of structure, the blind spot, distinctive experiences, acceptance and validation, continually evolving--learning as you go, the wish list, new role challenges, and self-revelation. CONCLUSION These findings increase our understanding of the challenges experienced by novice nursing faculty as they are socialized to their new roles. Aim: To explore novice nurse educators' perspectives on easing the transition from nurse clinician to nurse educator in Ghana. Design: A descriptive qualitative study. Methods: In total, 12 novice nurse educators (NNEs) were recruited from three health training institutions in the Upper East Region of Ghana. Between June and August 2020, individual in‐depth interviews were conducted using a semi‐structured interview guide. The audio‐recorded interviews were transcribed verbatim and analysed manually using thematic analysis. Results: Four themes emerged: mentoring, orientation to educator role, pedagogical preparation and postgraduate studies. To ease the transition, NNEs stressed on developing individual mentoring programmes to mentor novices before they start to teach. They endorsed the development of college‐specific orientation programmes to orientate novices before they assume full teaching roles. Aim: To understand how the COVID‐19 pandemic impacted nurse educators' and novice nurses' experience with the perioperative transition to specialty practice program. Design: A qualitative descriptive study. Methods: Semi‐structured interviews were conducted with five perioperative nurse educators and five perioperative transition to specialty practice program participants from a major metropolitan health service in Melbourne. Data were collected between April and July 2021. Interviews were audio‐recorded and transcribed verbatim, and data were analysed using reflexive thematic analysis. Results: Five themes were identified. The value of the perioperative transition to specialty practice program in supporting novice nurses was recognized in the theme 'Nurturing our novices'. Widespread changes to clinical practice were demonstrated in the theme 'Every day is different', including changes to elective surgery, redeployment of staff and the transmission risk of COVID‐19. 'The perils and joys of online learning' revealed both challenges and benefits of transitioning theoretical education from face‐to‐face to online delivery. 'Roller coaster of emotions' represented the heightened emotions participants experienced due to the COVID‐19 pandemic. 'Looking back to move forward' encompassed participants' reflections on the year, considering the challenges, adaptive strategies and the future of perioperative nursing education. Conclusion: The perioperative transition to specialty practice program was significantly impacted by the COVID‐19 pandemic. Participants needed to adapt to rapid and frequent changes, which contributed to feelings of emotional distress, affected consolidation of clinical learning and reduced engagement with theoretical education. Background: Mentoring is recommended as a strategy to improve satisfaction and retention of novice nurse faculty to help address the current faculty shortage. However, the meaning of academic mentoring varies among faculty, which can detract from the development of effective mentoring relationships in academia. This article details the meaning of mentoring as characterized by novice nurse faculty. Method: Semistructured interviews were conducted with novice nurse faculty (n = 21) who participated in a mentoring relationship with experienced colleagues. Thematic analysis was used to identify themes detailing the meaning of mentoring as described by the participants. Results: The thematic analysis revealed an overarching theme of mentoring-as-partnership and three subthemes: (a) authentic communication, (b) enriching support, and (c) sharing knowledge. Conclusion: To strengthen mentoring relationships in academic nursing, focus should be placed on supporting mentoring partnerships marked by mutuality and clearly defined goals, roles, and responsibilities. As interest in supporting new nurse practitioners' (NPs) transition to practice increases, those interested in measuring the concept will need an instrument with evidence of reliability and validity. The Novice NP Role Transition (NNPRT) Scale is the first instrument to measure the concept. The preliminary exploratory factor analysis revealed a five‐factor structure: organizational alignment, mentorship, sense of purpose, perceived competence and self‐confidence, and compensation. Using a cross‐sectional design and data from 210 novice NPs, the purpose of this study was to confirm the NNPRT Scale's internal factor structure via confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The sample was primarily female (97.5%), White (75.9%), and certified in primary care (53.5%). The CFA confirmed the five‐factor structure, and model fit was improved by moving and omitting items (χ2[619] = 1277.799, p < 0.001; Root Mean Square Error of Approximation = 0.071 [0.066−0.077]). The final NNPRT Scale includes 37‐items, and internal consistency reliability was calculated at 0.95. Convergent validity evidence was supported by a positive, significant correlation with receiving a formal orientation in the first NP position; a negative, significant correlation with turnover intention; and a lack of a relationship with years of prior registered nurse experience. The NNPRT Scale is an instrument with sound evidence of reliability and validity. The NNPRT Scale will be useful for researchers, administrators, and clinicians looking to explore factors that affect NNPRT, as well as by clinicians and administrators implementing programs to support novice NPs' transition to practice. Background: This study aimed to provide insight into the training load of newly recruited nurses in grade-A tertiary hospitals in Shanghai, China. The lack of nurses in hospitals across China has resulted in newly recruited nurses in grade-A tertiary hospitals in Shanghai having to integrate into the work environment and meet the needs of the job quickly; thus, they undergo several training programs. However, an increase in the number of training programs increases the training load of these nurses, impacting the effectiveness of training. The extent of the training load that newly recruited nurses have to bear in grade-A tertiary hospitals in China remains unknown. Methods: This qualitative study was conducted across three hospitals in Shanghai, including one general hospital and two specialized hospitals, in 2020. There were 15 newly recruited nurses who were invited to participate in semi-structured in-depth interviews with the purpose sampling method. A thematic analysis approach was used to analyze the data. The COREQ checklist was used to assess the overall study. Results: Three themes emerged: external cognitive overload, internal cognitive overload, and physical and mental overload. Conclusion: Through qualitative interviews, this study found that the training of newly recruited nurses in Shanghai's grade-A tertiary hospitals is in a state of overload, which mainly includes external cognitive overload, internal cognitive overload, physical and mental overload, as reflected in the form of training overload, the time and frequency of training overload, the content capacity of training overload, the content difficulty of training overload, physiological load overload, and psychological load overload. The intensity and form of the training need to be reasonably adjusted. Newly recruited nurses need to not only improve their internal self-ability, but also learn to reduce internal and external load. Prior studies analyzing patient experience with noninvasive ventilation (NIV) found the most impactful interaction that patients remembered was with nurses, however a survey of nurses regarding the management of patients treated with NIV has shown that most nurses felt unprepared to care for these sick patients. Our qualitative descriptive study explored the current nursing experience using NIV as a treatment for acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD). Nine (n = 9) subject matter expert nurses practicing in a variety of clinical settings participated in semi‐structured interviews. The COnsolidated criteria for REporting Qualitative research checklist was followed for interview development. Interview transcripts were subsequently analyzed using deductive thematic analysis. Themes identified from the interviews pertained to patient assessment, novice nurses' need for clinical support, team communication, and nursing education. Improving interprofessional team communication and collaboration skills, and implementing guidelines for NIV utilization were specified as essential components of NIV education for nurses. Even though the nursing role in the care of AECOPD NIV patient could be institution dependent, the themes presented in our study are useful in identifying opportunities for NIV nursing education and areas for further research. Aims: To explore the experiences of novice nurses caring for patients diagnosed with COVID‐19 in Thailand. Design: A qualitative descriptive research. Methods: The experiences of twelve novice nurses were explored through in‐depth interviews, telephone and video conferencing interviews. All interviews were recorded, verbatim transcribed and analysed by thematic content analysis. Results: The findings fell into five main themes as follows: from novice nurses to nurse who care for COVID‐19 patients; various learning methods focused on providing care to COVID‐19 patients; work experiences and confrontations with COVID‐19; various feelings that arise when being a nurse caring for patients with COVID‐19; the power of novice nurse to bring along positive changes. Conclusions: The study provides an understanding of novice nurses' experiences when caring for COVID‐19 patients. It also highlights the stress, fear and anxiety of novice nurses during the pandemic and suggests novice nursing practice training systems to enhance their familiarity and confidence when dealing with situations during the pandemic. The novice nurses were found to demonstrate a large amount of self‐determination and possess several technological skills and innovative abilities to improve the nursing practice and quality of care. Aim: This study sought to investigate some possible job stress factors that could influence newly recruited nurses' behaviour to either continue or discontinue their job with their organization. Design: A cross‐sectional study design was adopted for this study. Method: Using 654 responses from novice nurses working in 20 county Chinese hospitals, we estimated the effects of six job stressors from the perceived stress scale on the turnover intention with a structural equation model in AMOS version 21 software. Results: The results showed that four stressors, stress from taking care of patients (β = 0.111, p <.01), stress from roles and workload (β = 0.129, p <.001), stress from co‐workers and daily life (β = 0.323, p <.001) and stress from lack of professional knowledge and skills (β = 0.137, p <.001), from the perceived stress scale had a significant impact on turnover intention among nurses. Although robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) has become a standard treatment modality in patients with prostate cancer (PCa), RARP is a complicated and difficult surgical procedure due to the risk of serious surgery-related complications. This study aimed to evaluate the validation of a standardized training system for RARP in patients with PCa at a single institute. We retrospectively reviewed the clinical and pathological records of 155 patients with PCa who underwent RARP at Gifu University between August 2018 and April 2021. We developed an institutional program for new surgeons based on the separation of the RARP procedure into six checkpoints. The primary endpoints were surgical outcomes and perioperative complications among three groups (expert, trainer, and novice surgeon groups). The console time was significantly longer in the novice surgeon group than in the other groups. Regarding bladder neck dissection, ligation of lateral pedicles, and vesicourethral anastomosis, the operative time was significantly shorter in the expert group than in the other groups. Surgery-related complications occurred in 15 patients (9.7%). Our training system for RARP might help reduce the influence of the learning curve on surgical outcomes and ensure that the surgeries performed at low-volume institutions are safe and effective.
