Background: C4d deposits are present in a substantial proportion of patients with IgA nephropathy (IgAN), indicating the activation of the lectin pathway (LP) of the complement system. It seems that patients with activated LP have worse renal prognosis. The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence and prognostic significance of C4d in our cohort of patients with primary IgA nephropathy (pIgAN). Methods: Patients with pIgAN were recruited from a hospital register of kidney biopsies of the Department of Nephrology and Dialysis, Dubrava University Hospital, Zagreb. Additional immunohistochemistry staining for C4d was performed on paraffin-embedded kidney tissue, and patients were stratified into being C4d positive or C4d negative. The clinical and histologic features of patients were analyzed and compared regarding C4d positivity. The primary outcome was defined as kidney failure (KF), and predictor variables of KF and renal survival were analyzed. Results: Of a total of 95 patients with pIgAN included in the study, C4d was present in 43 (45.3%). C4d-positive patients had a higher value of systolic (p = 0.039) and diastolic (p = 0.006) blood pressure at diagnosis as well as higher 24 h proteinuria (p = 0.018), serum urate (p = 0.033), and lower eGFR (p < 0.001). C4d-positive patients had worse renal survival (p < 0.001), higher rates of disease progression to KF (p < 0.001), and higher proteinuria (p < 0.001) and lower eGFR (p < 0.001) at the last follow-up. Glomerular C4d was an independent predictor of disease progression to KF (HR = 5.87 [0.95 CI 1.06–32.44], p = 0.032). Conclusions: C4d is an independent predictor of disease progression in patients with pIgAN. C4d may be used as an additional marker of progressive disease course in IgAN. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between podocyte related biomarker cofilin-1 and renal function, and explore the value of cofilin-1 in predicting the risk of renal adverse prognosis in IgA nephropathy (IgAN). Methods: Patients with primary IgAN diagnosed by initial renal biopsy performed in our hospital from January 2019 to February 2022 were included. This study was a prospective cohort study. All IgAN patients were detected the expression of cofilin-1 and other related biomarkers (RhoA, NGAL) in urine by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and follow-up at least 6 months. We also collected baseline clinicopathologial data of IgAN. The decreased renal function group was defined as baseline eGFR < 60 ml/min/1.73m2. Logistic and Cox regression model were used to analyze the correlation among cofilin-1 and renal prognosis. Results: 133 IgAN patients were included, with a male-to-female ratio of 1.25:1 and an age of 37.67 ± 13.78 years, as well as an average of eGFR was 71.63 (40.42,109.33) ml/min/1.73m2. 56 patients (42.1%) had decreased renal function at baseline, with the average of eGFR was 34.07 (16.72, 49.21) ml/min/1.73 m2. 12 of which developed to renal adverse prognosis. The average of follow-up time was 22.035 ± 8.992 months. The multivariate regression analysis showed that increased urinary cofilin-1 was an independent risk factor associated with baseline renal function decline and renal adverse prognosis in IgAN patients (P < 0.05). ROC curves showed great efficacy of urinary cofilin-1 levels in diagnosing baseline renal function decline and predicting renal adverse prognosis (the area under the ROC curve was 0.708 and 0.803). Conclusion: Cofilin-1 as a novel biomarker of podocyte lesion is closely related to renal function decline in IgAN. Introduction: The aim of this study was to evaluate the predictive value of the serum IgA/C3 ratio and glomerular C3 deposits in kidney biopsy in adult IgA nephropathy. Methods: The study included 718 adult IgAN patients diagnosed based on kidney biopsy. Patients without corticosteroids or immunosuppressive drugs >1 month were regularly followed up for at least 1 year or until the study endpoint. The optimum serum IgA/C3 ratio was calculated by the AUROC-based cutoff ratio. Proteinuria, creatinine, eGFR, serum IgA, and serum C3 were evaluated at baseline. Kidney biopsy was categorized using the Oxford classification, with a calculation of the MEST-C score. The degree of glomerular C3 staining was semiquantitatively determined (grade 0, no or trace; grade 1, mild; grade 2, moderate; grade 3, marked) by immunofluorescence microscopy. The patients were divided into four groups by the serum IgA/C3 ratio and glomerular C3 staining. Results: The baseline data suggested that when the serum IgA/C3 ratio was at the same level, patients with a high glomerular C3 staining score (≥2) always had mesangial proliferation, segmental glomerulosclerosis, and tubular atrophy/interstitial fibrosis (group 1 vs. group 2; group 3 vs. group 4). When glomerular C3 staining was at the same level, proteinuria was significantly higher in patients with serum IgA/C3<2.806 (group 1 vs. group 3; group 2 vs. group 4), which was contrary to previous studies that have suggested that the serum level of IgA/C3 was associated with disease severity. Hence, this study set out to investigate the combined effects of the serum IgA/C3 ratio and glomerular C3 staining on the renal outcome in adult IgA nephropathy. Renal survival analysis indicated that serum IgA/C3 ≥2.806 and glomerular C3 staining ≥2 (group 1) may be correlated with a poorer prognosis, especially in different clinicopathological characteristics of IgAN patients based on the subgroup analysis. Multivariate Cox analysis demonstrated that hypertension, serum creatinine, CKD stage, T1/2 and C3 staining were independent predictive factors of renal survival. Conclusions: The combination of serum IgA/C3 and C3 staining may contribute to improved optimization of the prognostic model in IgAN patients, especially patients with different sexes and degrees of disease. Background: The standard method for assessing chronic renal damage is renal biopsy, which has limitations due to its invasiveness. Ultrasound elastography is a non-invasive technique that quantifies tissue elasticity and can be used to determine Young's modulus (YM). Although this breakthrough technology has been successfully employed to evaluate liver stiffness and the extent of fibrosis, its application in kidney-related conditions still needs improvement. Methods: Our study aimed to verify the correlation between renal elastography and the chronic histological score determined via renal biopsy, evaluate the correlation between elastography and response to treatment in the short-term follow-up (6 months), and compare elastography data between renal disease patients (AKD-P) and healthy controls (HP). Results: The analyzed population consisted of 82 patients (41 HP and 41 AKD-P). The AKD-P were divided into responders (R) or non-responders (NR) based on the criteria established by the guidelines. No association was found between renal stiffness and chronic histological score. Elastography data revealed median YM values of 6.15 kPa for AKD-P and 12.2 kPa for HP, with a statistically significant difference. The median YM values of the R and NR groups were 7.4 KPa and 5.6 KPa, respectively (p = 0.037). Conclusions: Patient responsiveness was associated with YM, with lower values observed in the NR group. Background: The synthesis of growth differentiation factor-15 (GDF-15) is induced by inflammation, hypoxia, and oxidative stress and is receiving great interest as a predictive biomarker for cardiovascular disease. However, its detailed impact on patients with renal disease remains uncertain. Methods: Patients who underwent renal biopsy for evaluation of renal disease between 2012 and 2017 in our institute were prospectively included. Serum GDF-15 levels were measured and its association with baseline characteristics and its impact on the 3-year composites of renal prognosis (composites of > 1.5 folds of serum creatinine and renal replacement therapy) were investigated. Results: A total of 110 patients (64 [42, 73] years old, 61 men) were included. The median serum GDF-15 level at baseline was 1885 (998, 3496) pg/mL. A higher serum GDF-15 level was associated with comorbidities including diabetes mellitus, anemia, renal impairment, and pathologic features including crescent formation, hyaline degeneration, and interstitial fibrosis (p < 0.05 for all). Serum GDF-15 level was a significant predictor of 3-year composite renal outcomes with an odds ratio per 100 pg/mL of 1.072 (95% confidence interval 1.001–1.103, p = 0.036) after adjustment for potential confounders. The histopathological findings of the glomeruli from whole slide images (WSIs) of a renal biopsy play an important role in diagnosing and grading kidney disease. This study aimed to develop an automated computational pipeline to detect glomeruli and to segment the histopathological regions inside of the glomerulus in a WSI. In order to assess the significance of this pipeline, we conducted a multivariate regression analysis to determine whether the quantified regions were associated with the prognosis of kidney function in 46 cases of immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN). The developed pipelines showed a mean intersection over union (IoU) of 0.670 and 0.693 for five classes (i.e., background, Bowman's space, glomerular tuft, crescentic, and sclerotic regions) against the WSI of its facility, and 0.678 and 0.609 against the WSI of the external facility. The multivariate analysis revealed that the predicted sclerotic regions, even those that were predicted by the external model, had a significant negative impact on the slope of the estimated glomerular filtration rate after biopsy. This is the first study to demonstrate that the quantified sclerotic regions that are predicted by an automated computational pipeline for the segmentation of the histopathological glomerular components on WSIs impact the prognosis of kidney function in patients with IgAN. Background: The prognosis of lupus nephritis (LN) has improved following the introduction of effective immunosuppressive therapy and progress in supportive care. This study examined recent renal and patient prognosis for adults with LN in Japan. Methods: We conducted a nationwide retrospective cohort study of LN patients who received a renal biopsy between 2007 and 2012 that were registered in the Japan Renal Biopsy Registry. Of 623 registered adults with LN from 25 institutions and their affiliated or community hospitals, 489 were eligible for this study. Results: The median age at renal biopsy was 39 years, and 82.2% of patients were female. Renal biopsies were performed in 348 patients with new-onset LN, 106 with relapse LN, and 35 with refractory LN. The distribution of ISN/RPS 2003 Classes was as follows: I 1.6%; II 5.3%; III (± V) 27.0%; IV (± V) 47.0%; V 18.4%; VI 0.6%. During the median observation period of 63.8 months, 36 patients (7.3%) reached a doubling of serum creatinine or end-stage kidney disease (ESKD), and 28 patients (5.7%) died. The 5 year renal and patient survival rates were 93.9% and 94.7%, respectively. Multivariate analysis revealed body mass index (BMI) and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) were independent risk factors for a doubling of serum creatinine in ESKD. Age and eGFR were independent risk factors for death. Conclusion: Recent prognosis for adults with LN are relatively good in Japan. Background: Despite the high mortality of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in diabetic patients with renal injury, few studies have compared cardiovascular characteristics and outcomes between patients with diabetic nephropathy (DN) and non-diabetic renal disease (NDRD). Methods: A total of 326 type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with renal biopsy were assigned to DN and NDRD groups. Echocardiography and Doppler ultrasound were performed to evaluate left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) and peripheral atherosclerosis disease (PAD). Renal and cardiovascular survival rates were compared between the DN and NDRD groups by Kaplan-Meier analysis. Risk factors for renal and cardiovascular events in DN patients were identified by a Cox proportional hazards model. Results: In total, 179 patients entered the DN group (54.9%) and 147 made up the NDRD group (45.1%). The presence of diabetic retinopathy, family history of diabetes, and dependence on insulin therapy were associated with the presence of DN. DN patients had more CVD with more severe LVH and PAD. Poorer renal (log-rank χ2 = 26.534, p < 0.001) and cardiovascular (log-rank χ2 = 16.257, p < 0.001) prognoses were seen in the DN group. DR (HR 1.539, 95% CI 1.332–1.842), eGFR (HR 0.943, 95% CI 0.919–0.961), and 24-h proteinuria (HR 1.211, 95% CI 1.132–1.387) were identified as risk factors for renal endpoints. Age (HR 1.672, 95% CI 1.487–1.821), HbA1C (HR 1.398, 95% CI 1.197–1.876), and 24-h proteinuria (HR 1.453, 95% CI 1.289–1.672) were associated with cardiovascular endpoints. Conclusion: Patients with DN had more severe CVD along with poorer renal and cardiovascular prognoses than those with NDRD.

To investigate the demographic and clinicopathological features and renal outcomes of Chinese patients with C3 glomerulonephritis in the setting of monoclonal gammopathy. Patients with renal biopsy-proven C3 glomerulonephritis and detectable serum and/or urine monoclonal immunoglobulin from 2006 to 2018 in Peking University First Hospital were included, their clinical data, renal pathology type, treatment, and prognosis were collected and analyzed. Nineteen patients were enrolled, accounting for 24% of C3GN patients in the study period. The mean age of onset was 55 years old and the gender ratio was 4/15 (female/male). The mean eGFR at biopsy was 49.55 ± 29.81 ml/min/1.73m2. The prominent clinical manifestations included nephrotic syndrome (58%), anemia (68%), microscopic hematuria and leukocyturia (58%), and hypocomplementemia (13, 68%). The IgG was the most common isotype of monoclonal Ig on immunofixation electrophoresis. Kidney biopsies revealed a relatively prominent MPGN pattern. Only two patients had direct evidence of monocle immunoglobulins acting as C3GN pathogenic factors. Two patients had concurrent TMA-like renal injuries. The median renal survival was 12 and 15 months, respectively in patients receiving conservative therapy and immunosuppressant therapy, without statistical significance. The efficacy of clone-targeted therapy needed further investigation. Plasma exchange therapy only improved one patient's renal outcome. This is the first case series report of C3GN combined with monoclonal Ig in northern China. The renal prognosis of these patients is poor, and immunosuppressant therapies show no advantage over supportive therapy in renal prognosis, while the benefit of clone-targeted chemotherapy is still requiring investigation. Henoch–Schönlein purpura nephritis (HSPN) is a common secondary glomerulonephritis, and its prognosis mainly depends on the severity of renal impairment. To date, the significance of crescent lesions in adult-onset HSPN is still unclear. Therefore, the purpose of this research was to assess whether crescents could predict the renal outcomes in adult HSPN patients. A total of 188 adult patients with HSPN proven by renal biopsy were enrolled in this prospective study. Patients were divided into three groups based on the proportion of crescents: non-crescent group (C0, n = 110), crescent ≤ 25% group (C1, n = 50) and crescent > 25% group (C2, n = 28). The composited endpoint was defined as eGFR decreased > 50% of baseline level, reached end-stage renal disease and/or death. Among three groups, clinical pathological features, treatment regimens and renal outcomes were compared. During a mean follow-up of 26 months, 78 (42.5%) patients had crescent lesions. A total of ten (9.1%) patients in C0 group and five (17.9%) patients in C2 group reached the combined endpoint, but no patients in C1 group reached endpoint. Renal survival analysis indicated patients in C1 group tended to have the best renal outcome, while patients in C2 group had the poorest renal survival. Moreover, Cox regression analysis revealed crescents were not a predictor of poor developing to renal outcome after adjusting potential confounders [hazard ratio (HR) = 0.28, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.07–1.18, P = 0.083]. Background Biopsy-based studies on nephrosclerosis are lacking and the clinicopathological predictors for progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD) are not well established. Methods We retrospectively assessed 401 patients with biopsy-proven nephrosclerosis in Japan. Progression of CKD was defined as new-onset end-stage renal disease, decrease of estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) by  ≥50% or doubling of serum creatinine, and the sub-distribution hazard ratio (SHR) with 95% confidence interval (CI) for CKD progression was determined for various clinical and histological characteristics in competing risks analysis. The incremental value of pathological information for predicting CKD progression was assessed by calculating Harrell's C-statistics, the Akaike information criterion (AIC), net reclassification improvement and integrated discrimination improvement. Results During a median follow-up period of 5.3 years, 117 patients showed progression of CKD and 10 patients died before the defined kidney event. Multivariable sub-distribution hazards model identified serum albumin (SHR 0.48; 95% CI 0.35–0.67), hemoglobin A1c (SHR 0.71; 95% CI 0.54–0.94), eGFR (SHR 0.98; 95% CI 0.97–0.99), urinary albumin/creatinine ratio (UACR) (SHR 1.18; 95% CI 1.08–1.29), percentage of segmental/global glomerulosclerosis (%GS) (SHR 1.01; 95% CI 1.00–1.02) and interstitial fibrosis and tubular atrophy (IFTA) (SHR 1.52; 95% CI 1.20–1.92) as risk factors for CKD progression. The C-statistic of a model with only clinical variables was improved by adding %GS (0.790 versus 0.796, P < 0.01) and IFTA (0.790 versus 0.811, P < 0.01). The reclassification statistic was also improved after adding the biopsy data to the clinical data. The model including IFTA was superior, with the lowest AIC. Conclusions The study implies that in addition to the traditional markers of eGFR and UACR, we may explore the markers of serum albumin and hemoglobin A1c, which are widely available but not routinely measured in patients with nephrosclerosis, and the biopsy data, especially the data on the severity of interstitial damage, for the better prediction of CKD progression in patients with nephrosclerosis. Background: The prognostic value of the EUVAS-proposed histopathological classification of anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated glomerulonephritis has been evaluated throughout the world. Here, we performed a Japanese nationwide biopsy survey to assess the association between this histopathological classification and renal prognosis after 2-year follow-up in ANCA-associated glomerulonephritis.Methods: We collected 67 renal biopsy materials of the 321 entries in the RemIT-JAV-RPGN cohort study, and assessed their histologies. Based on the EUVAS-proposed histopathological classification and some histological parameters, we statistically evaluated renal survival and the comparison of renal function for 2 years.Results: Based on the histopathological classification, the largest number of biopsy samples belonged to the Focal class, followed by the Mixed, Crescentic, and Sclerotic classes (n = 30, 19, 10, 8, respectively). Although the number of events might be too low (four patients with renal death) to make this conclusion, the Focal and Mixed classes had higher renal-survival rates compared to the others in the renal-survival curve. Comparing renal function among all classes, the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) throughout 2-year follow-up period was significantly higher in the Focal class compared to the other 3 classes. The eGFR-values in the Crescentic, Mixed, and Sclerotic classes increased with time. Based on both combined results, the Focal class could be the best prognosis.Conclusion: This histopathological classification was valuable for both the stratification of renal function and the estimation of partial renal survival during 2-year follow-up in ANCA-associated glomerulonephritis. Aims: Nodular lesions are one of the most characteristic pathological changes of advanced diabetic nephropathy (DN). Previous studies have demonstrated that the pattern of both routine and collagen staining of nodular lesions changes during their development. However, the association between such changes of staining and the renal prognosis remains unclear.Methods: Among 252 patients with biopsy-proven DN, 67 met the selection criteria and were enrolled to investigate this relationship. In all patients, nodular lesions were stained with periodic acid Schiff, periodic acid methenamine silver, and Masson trichrome stains, and immunostaining was done for type I, III, IV, V, and VI collagen. The endpoint was commencement of dialysis due to end-stage renal disease.Results: At least one mesangiolytic nodular lesion (MNL) that showed faint staining for PAS and PAM was found in 61% of the patients. MNLs were negative for type IV collagen staining, unlike the strong positivity of non-MNLs, while type V and VI collagen staining were strongly positive in all nodular lesions. Cox proportional hazards regression analysis revealed that the hazard ratio (HR) for the endpoint was significantly higher in patients with at least one MNL than in patients with no MNLs after adjustment for known promoters of renal progression (HR: 2.94; 95% confidence interval: 1.24-7.07).Conclusions: MNLs may reflect characteristic differences of collagen production and could be a useful prognostic indicator in patients with nodular lesions. Aims The kidneys of patients with diabetes mellitus usually exhibit a characteristic pattern of linear immunofluorescent staining for immunoglobulin G (IgG) along the glomerular and tubular basement membranes. However, the association between linear IgG staining and the renal prognosis remains unclear. Methods Among 223 patients with diabetes who underwent renal biopsy from 1985 to 2010 and were confirmed to have pure diabetic nephropathy according to the classification of Tervaert et al., 165 patients (glomerular classes I to III) were enrolled in this study. Immunofluorescent staining was classified into three categories according to its intensity (0 = none, 1 = weakly positive, and 2 = positive). Cox proportional hazards regression analysis was used to calculate the hazard ratio (HR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) for death-censored renal death, with each regression analysis employing four levels of multivariate adjustment. Results After adjustment for important clinical factors at the time of renal biopsy, the HR for death-censored renal death in patients with an IgG staining score of 1 or 2 was, respectively, 3.01 (95% CI: 1.05–8.68) and 4.68 (1.67–13.1) compared with patients who had a staining score of 0. Even after adjustment for clinical variables and pathological findings, the HR for IgG score of 1 or 2 was higher than that for an IgG score of 0, and it was, respectively, 2.22 (0.71–7.00) and 3.76 (1.27–11.2). Conclusions More intense linear IgG staining is associated with a higher HR for renal death, which suggests that linear immunofluorescent staining for IgG may be a prognostic indicator in patients with diabetic nephropathy. Background. There is a broad spectrum of glomerular histological findings in postinfectious glomerulonephritis (PIGN). We conducted this retrospective study to compare the clinicopathological features between two distinct morphology of PIGN. Methods. Thirteen patients with typical endocapillary proliferation and eight patients with atypical mesangial proliferation were enrolled in this study. The patients' records were reviewed with respect to clinical presentation, microbiology, serology, morphology of renal biopsy, and clinical course. Results. In comparison of histological parameters, glomerular neutrophil infiltration was more commonly present in typical endocapillary proliferation group ( p = 0.018). Glomerular IgA dominant or co-dominant deposition was more frequently seen in atypical mesangial proliferation group ( p = 0.032). In a comparison of clinical parameters, atypical mesangial proliferation group had lesser degrees of proteinuria, higher serum levels of complement, and higher rates of staphylococcal infection, although none of the differences was statistically significant. Glomerular morphology did not seem to affect the renal outcome. Moreover, our data suggested that the percentage of patients with atypical mesangial proliferation significantly increased over time ( p < 0.001). Conclusions. Atypical mesangial proliferation may represent a resolution stage of PIGN. The nature of subclinical infection with a more protracted course may contribute to the increasing recognition of this resolving PIGN at the time of renal biopsy. Another possible explanation is that the atypical morphology may be a peculiar pattern of post-staphylococcal glomerulonephritis, which was increasingly identified in PIGN over the past 10 years. Background. Postinfectious glomerulonephritis is rare in adults. The characteristics of the disease now differ from what were described decades ago. The goal of this study is to illustrate the clinicopathological spectrum of the disease in the modern era. Methods. Between July 2000 and June 2008, 20 adult cases of postinfectious glomerulonephritis were identified at a medical center in Taiwan. The patients' records were retrospectively reviewed with respect to clinical presentation, microbiology, serology, morphology of renal biopsy, and clinical course. Results. There were 14 males and 6 females. The mean age was 61 years. All patients developed acute renal failure, and the majority (65%) required dialysis support during the disease course. Hypocomplementemia was present in 60% of patients. The most frequently identified infectious agent was Staphylococcus (60%). Histological characteristics showed two distinct patterns of glomerulonephritis: diffuse endocapillary proliferative glomerulonephritis (65%) and focal mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis (35%). There were no significant differences in the clinical presentation and outcome between the two groups. However, glomerular neutrophil infiltration was more commonly present in diffuse endocapillary proliferative pattern (p = 0.017). The percentage of patients with focal mesangial proliferative pattern significantly increased over time (p < 0.001). At the last follow-up, 6 patients (30%) had died, 6 (30%) were in complete remission, 4 (20%) had partial remission with renal insufficiency, and 4 (20%) were on chronic dialysis. Conclusions. Our data suggested that Staphylococcus had become the leading pathogen in adult postinfectious glomerulonephritis over the past 10 years. Furthermore, atypical histological feature with focal mesangial proliferative pattern was increasingly identified over time. Background: Although the clinical and histological prognostic factors of IgA nephropathy have been investigated in detail, the value of treatment in terms of renal outcome is not well understood. Method's: The authors examined data from 237 patients with IgA nephropathy (age 31.4 ± 13.5 years, mean±SD) who had been followed-up for at least six months (follow-up periods, 62,3±45.5 months). The authors initially tested the significance of prognostic factors (age, sex, systolic blood pressure, proteinuria, serum creatinine, and histological severity) and treatment strategies (steroid therapy, renin-angiotensin system inhibitors and tonsillectomy) on renal outcome with univariate analysis, then evaluated the findings using the Cox proportional hazards model. Results: Univariate and multivariate analyses showed that among the prognostic variables, a high level of serum creatinine at renal biopsy, large amounts of proteinuria, and extensive histological injury were significant risk factors for end-stage renal failure. Kaplan-Meier analysis showed that the renal survival rates associated with these factors were significantly poorer depending on their severity. Univariate analysis revealed that tonsillectomy was the only significant treatment that contributes to the maintenance of renal survival. Moreover, urinary abnormalities disappeared at significantly higher frequency when patients were treated by tonsillectomy. The Cox proportional hazards model showed that steroid therapy independently contributed to improve renal prognosis in addition to tonsillectomy, and the hazard ratios were 0.26 (95% CI, 0.07 to 0.93) and 0.37 (959c CI, 0.14 to 0.99), respectively.
