Osmanlı’nın son dönemleri ile Cumhuriyet’in ilk yıllarına tanıklık eden Raşid Efendi(ö. 1945) hem kurra hafız hem şeyh hem de bir dilci idi. Eyüp’te bulunan SertarikzâdeTekkesi’nin şeyhliğini ifa ettiği gibi, birinci Türk Dili Kurultayı’na da aza olarakkatılmıştı. Oldukça velut bir yazar olan Raşid Efendi’nin geleneği takip ederek telifettiği eserler olmakla birlikte dil devriminden sonra ortaya koyduğu ve kendisininde özellikle vurguladığı şekliyle \"sırf Türkçe\" kaleme alınmış eserleri de vardır. Bueserler içerisinde, Raşid Efendi’nin mevlid kelimesini kullanmamak gayesiyle TürkçeDoğum diye tesmiye ettiği bir mevlidi bulunmaktadır. 11’li hece ölçüsü ile beyit esaslıkaleme alınan bu manzum metinde Raşid Efendi dönemin dil anlayışına uygun olarakhiçbir Arapça ve Farsça kelimeye yer vermediğini iddia eder. Hatta peygamberlerinisimlerini dahi Türkçe olmadıkları için anmaz. Bütün bu yeni ve değişik özelliklerinerağmen Raşid Efendi’nin mevlidi, uzun soluklu mevlit geleneğimizin bir parçasıdır.Bu makalemizde Raşid Efendi’nin kısaca biyografisine değinilerek, bugün müellifhattı tek nüshası bilinen Türkçe Doğum adlı mevlid tanıtılacak, eserin mevlid geleneğiile bağı ve eserde kullanılan Öztürkçe kelimeler üzerinde durulacaktır. Rashid Efendi (d. 1945) witnessed the last years of the Ottoman Empire and the firstyears of the Republic and was a reciter of the Quran, a sheikh, and a linguist. Heparticipated as a member in the first Turkish Language Congress while acting as thesheikh of Sertarikzâde Sufi Lodge in Eyüp, Istanbul. Although Rashid Efendi as avery prolific writer is seen to have written works in line with tradition, he also hasworks that he wrote after the Alphabet Reforms that he stressed as being purely inTurkish. Among these works is the mawlid Rashid Efendi titled Türkçe Doğum [TheBirth of Turkish] in order not to use the actual word mawlid. Rashid Efendi tried not toinclude any Arabic or Persian words in this verse text in accordance with the period’sunderstanding of language usage. Despite all these different new features, RashidEfendi’s mawlid is part of Türkiye’s long-standing mawlid tradition. This article willbriefly discuss the biography of Rashid Efendi, introduce his mawlid titled TürkçeDoğum, of which only copy is currently known, and emphasize the connection ofthe work to the mawlid tradition as well as the so-called purely Turkish words usedin the work.

This paper first evaluates the impact of a two-decade-long Islamization policy carried out by a pro-Islamist party, which came to power in 2002 in Turkey, on the attitudes of Turkish people toward religious values, religious practices, and clergy. In this regard, how the importance of religion, frequency of going to mosques, and trust in the clergy have changed among Turkish Muslims between 2002 and 2018 were examined by using World Values Survey data and employing logistic regression analysis. Estimation results indicated a reduction in belief in God, attendance to mosques, and trust in clergy, which imply the failure of the Islamization policy. Second, we explored what caused the failure by using the same data set and methodology. Our estimations suggested that the symbiotic relationship between the pro-Islamist government and religious clergy and institutions may explain the failure. As the government is identified with religion in the eye of the public, dissatisfaction with the government turned to dissatisfaction with religious values.

Hadis sahasında aktif olarak kullanılan “Cevâmiu’l-Kelim” ve “Câmiu Hâdimi’l-Haremeyn” adlı dijital hadis veri tabanları hadis tahrici yapma, hacimli kaynakları süratle tarama ve râviler hakkındaki bilgilere hızlıca erişme gibi standart özelliklerinin yanı sıra hoca-talebe ilişkilerini görmeye imkân verecek rivayet sayılarını sunma, onlar arasında kullanılan aktarım kalıplarını hızlıca belirleme gibi özellikleri ile de dikkat çeker. Ancak bu dijital hadis veri tabanlarının daha aktif ve spesifik meseleler için kullanılması sırasında bazı teknik kusurlar içerdiği tespit edilmiştir. Yazıda bazıları hakkında örnekler de verilen bu on beş hususun sunulmasının hadis sahasında bu dijital veri tabanlarını aktif olarak kullanan araştırmacıların karşılaşacağı iş ve zaman kaybını engelleyeceği öngörülmektedir The digital ḥadith databases “Jawāmi‘ al-Kalim” and “Jāmi‘ Khādim al-Ḥaramayn” include standard features that help to define the sources of ḥadiths, scan voluminous hadith sources, and swiftly access information about the narrators. They also include a feature that presents the number of narrations, allowing users to see the relationship between scholar and disciple and quickly determine the forms of transmission (ṣigha) used among them. However, when these digital ḥadith databases are used intensively and more actively to research specific issues, it has been determined that they contain some technical flaws. It is anticipated that presenting 15 identified issues with concrete examples will prevent the loss of work and time that researchers who actively use these digital ḥadith databases in the field of ḥadith encounter.

Bu makale, din ve seküler kavramları üzerindeki eleştirileri İngilizce literatürdeki sosyal bilimler, din çalışmaları ve İslam çalışmalarında geniş yankı bulmuş Talal Asad’ın eleştirilerini, yaklaşımını ve alternatif kategorilerini kendi eserlerine dayanarak tanıtmakta ve değerlendirmektedir. Makale, Asad’ın din tanımına yaklaşımını Wilfred Cantwell Smith ve Clifford Geertz’ün teorilerine yönelttiği eleştirileri çerçevesinde incelemekte; ardından, Asad’ın seküler hakkındaki görüşlerini ve Jose Casanova’ya yönelttiği eleştirileri ele almaktadır. Asad’ın bu varsayımı ve bireyi paranteze alan genel yaklaşımı da çeşitli problemler içermektedir This article examines Talal Asad’s critique of the concepts of religion and the secular by analyzing his groundbreaking work on the subject which has been widely read and discussed in religious studies, Islamic studies, and social sciences. The first part of the article examines Asad’s approach to religion by analyzing his critique of Wilfred Cantwell Smith and Clifford Geertz. The second part of the article examines Asad’s views on the secular and his critique of Casanova. Arguing that supporters and critics of the secularization thesis do not pay enough attention to the concept of the secular, Asad turns to undertake an anthropology of the secular. Approaching the secular indirectly, Asad examines assumptions of the secular through human, society, state, right, submission, pain, agency, and so on; and compares them with those of the Pre-Reformation Christianity and Islam that he describes as a discursive tradition. According to Asad, the secular presuppositions construct new meanings of “human”, “religion”, and “social order”. In this respect, the concepts of universal religion prevalent in the anthropology of religion are rooted in the idea of “liberal individual” which was developed in the history of the modern West; therefore, it is not universal but historical and it is shaped under the influence of the secular. The article argues that while Asad does not try to assert his own all-encompassing definition of religion, he, nevertheless, assumes an authentic Islam and Christianity. This assumption of authenticity and Asad’s approach to tradition bracketing the individual also raise various questions

Bu makalede Osmanlı döneminden günümüze İstanbul Selâtîn camileri görevlileri ve onların toplumsal işleyişteki rolleri ele alınmıştır. Bu meyanda öncelikle Osmanlı’dan günümüze din görevlilerinin ve özellikle Selâtîn camilerinde vazife yapanların toplumsal ve siyasi mevzularda sahip oldukları etkili ve yetkili konum üzerinde durulmuştur. Selâtîn camilerine mahsus imam ve müezzinlik dışındaki görevler anlatılmıştır. Makalenin bir başka hedefi Selâtin cami görevlilerinin günümüzdeki durumunu tarihi konumu ile mukayeseli bir şekilde incelemektir. Bu çalışma “Selâtîn Camii” kavramı içerisine dâhil edilebilecek farklı şehirlerdeki bütün camileri değil, sadece İstanbul’daki Selâtîn camilerini ve görevlilerini inceleme konusu yapacaktır. Bu hedeflere ulaşmak için öncelikle Selâtîn camiler ve görevlileri hakkında ansiklopedi maddesi, arşiv belgeleri, müstakil kitap ve makale şeklinde bugüne kadar yapılmış çalışmalara ulaşılmış ve tarihten günümüze kadar gelen serüven inceleme altına alınmıştır. Günümüzde bu camilerin ve buralarda görev yapanların konumlarını doğru analiz edebilmek için hâlihazırda İstanbul Selâtîn camilerinde vazifede bulunan imam ve müezzinler ile yapılan bir ankete ve değerlendirmesine yer verilmiştir. In this article, the effective and authoritative position of religious officials and especially those working in Sultan mosques in social and political issues from the Ottoman period to the present has been emphasized. The duties other than imam and muazzin, which are peculiar to Sultan mosques, are explained. Another aim of the article is to examine the current situation of Sultan mosque officials in a comparative way with its historical position. This study will only examine the officials of the Sultan mosques in Istanbul. In order to achieve these goals, first of all, studies that have been made so far in the form of encyclopedia articles, archive documents, stand-alone books and articles about Sultan mosques and their officials have been examined. In order to be able to analyze the positions of these mosques and those who work there today, a survey and evaluation of the imams and muazzins who are currently working in Istanbul Sultan mosques are included.

Bu çalışma, klasik dönem şarkiyatçılığının ileri gelen temsilcilerinden Nöldeke, Ahlwardt, Layll ve Margoliouth’un, günümüzde klasik Arap şiiri uzmanlarını meşgul etmeye devam eden Cahiliye şiirinin otantikliği problemine dair öncü yaklaşımlarını konu edinmektedir. Çalışmada adı geçen müsteşriklerin XIX. yüzyıl ile XX. yüzyıl arasındaki yaklaşık 60 yıllık bir süre zarfında yayımladıkları asıl kaynaklara başvurulmuştur. Bu kaynaklar sorular gündeme getiren ve bu sorulara cevaplar bulmaya çalışan bir tür bilişsel diyaloğa dayanmaktadır. Bunun yanında çalışmada yöntem olarak karşılaştırmalı eleştirel perspektif yöntemi benimsenmiştir. Bu doğrultuda öncelikle mezkûr müsteşriklerin çalışmaları ilmî açıdan değerlendirilmiş; ardından ilke, tez ve hedefler açısından bu çalışmalar arasında karşılaştırmaya gidilmiştir. Nihayetinde çalışmada şu temel sonuca varılmıştır: Adı geçen dört müsteşrik, Cahiliye şiirinin otantikliği problemine bağlı olarak ortaya atılan soruların cevaplandırılmasının ehemmiyeti hususunda aynı görüşteydiler; ancak probleme yaklaşım, problemi çözme ve irdeleme hedefleri noktasında görüş ayrılığına düşmüşlerdir. This essay discusses the pioneering stances of four major representatives of the classical era of orientalism on a contentious issue which still occupies specialists in old Arabic poetry. This issue is the authenticity of old Arabic poetry. This essay refers to original sources by these orientalists studies which have been published throughout approximately 60 years, between the 19th and 20th centuries. These studies formed a sort of epistemological dialogue which aimed to spark questions and find their answers. This essay employs a critical comparative perspective which first attempts to determine the scholarly value of the efforts of these orientalists and compares between their principles, propositions and aims. This essay reaches the following primary conclusion: the four mentioned orientalists agreed on the importance of the questions raised regarding this contentious issue, but they disagreed in the angles of their perspectives toward it, their solutions for it, and finally their aims behind studying it.

Psychological health problems such as depression, anxiety and feelings of distress are often seen in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Religious coping in dealing with psychological health problems is one of the methods commonly used by cardiac patients. This study was conducted to determine the depression levels and religious coping methods of individuals diagnosed with ACS and identify the relationship between their positive or negative religious coping methods and their depression levels. The descriptive and correlational study was conducted with 253 ACS patients. In the study, the depression levels of most patients were low, but 19.8% showed moderate-severe depressive symptoms. It was found that the patients adopted positive religious coping styles on a high level, but there was no significant relationship between positive religious coping and depression levels (p > 0.05). It is recommended that health professionals also closely monitor ACS patients for depressive symptoms after their diagnosis, encouraging patients to use positive religious coping styles to support their well-being and recovery against this life-threatening disease.

Through an exploration of the interpretation history of Matt. 25:33-46, this article develops an apocalyptic ethics based on Christ’s encountering us in the least of his brothers and sisters. Proposing the newly coined expression ‘ visitatio Christi’, the article offers a counterpoint to the common theological-ethical theme of imitatio Christi. First, it recalls how Jesus’ eschatological parable has time and again inspired love of the neighbour in need (e.g., the works of mercy) and challenged the scope of the required option for the poor (e.g., the debate about charity and structural change). Next, the article shows how an apocalyptic ethics based in Matthew 25, which imagines our moral life as a response to the visitatio Christi, implies a transformation of attitude/perception, a reversal of roles, and finds its source in the sacramental presence of Christ in the poor. Finally, the different aspects of the argument are recapitulated drawing upon Pope Francis’s use of Matthew 25.

Evrenin (ʿālem) başlangıcı (mebdeʾ) ve sonuna (meʿād) yönelik tartışmalar erken dönemlerden itibaren kelam ilminin meşgul olduğu konular arasındadır. Kelamcılar geliştirdikleri kavram ve kuramlarla evrenin bir başlangıcı olduğu gibi bir sonunun da olabileceğini ispat etmeye çalıştılar. Geçtiğimiz yüzyılda evrenin kökeni ve gelişimini araştıran bilimsel kozmolojinin ortaya çıkışı evrenin başlangıcı ve sonuna yönelik bilimsel teorilerin gündeme gelmesini sağladı. Bu bağlamda Büyük Patlama Teorisi evrenin bir başlangıcı olduğunu ima ederken, termodinamiğin ikinci yasası ekseninde geliştirilen entropi kuramı ise evrenin bir sonu olduğu görüşünü gündeme getirdi. Bu çalışmada geçmişte kelamcıların evrenin başlangıcı ve sonu meselesini hangi kavram ve kuramlardan hareketle savundukları ortaya koyulacak ve ardından onların görüşlerinin modern kozmoloji açısından değerlendirilmesi yapılacaktır. Kelam ilminin gerek klasik dönemde gerekse günümüzde yaygın olarak paylaşılan tanımlarından birinin “mebdeʾ ve meʿād itibariyle evreni inceleyen bir ilim” olduğu dikkate alındığında çalışmanın kelam ilmine ayırt edici özelliğini veren bu yönünün günümüz açısından nasıl ele alınabileceği konusunda bir fikir vermesi beklenebilir. Kelamcıların geçmişte evrenin başlangıcı ve sonunu felsefî kavram ve kuramlarla tartışmış olmaları, günümüz kelamında da felsefî ve bilimsel kuramların bu türden konularda kullanılmasını meşru kılmaktadır. Bu bağlamda makalenin kelam ilminin güncellenmesine katkı yapması umulmaktadır., Discussions about the beginning (mabdaʾ) and the end (maʿād) of the universe (ʿālam) have been among the subjects that the science of kalām has dealt with since the early times. Mutakallimūn, with the concepts and theories they developed, tried to prove that the universe had a beginning, as well as the possibility of it having an end. In the last century, the emergence of scientific cosmology, which studies the universe as a whole, has led to the development of scientific theories about the beginning and end of the universe. In this context, while the Big Bang Theory implies that the universe had a beginning, on the other hand, the Entropy Theory, developed on the basis of the second law of thermodynamics, brought the idea that the universe would come to an end. In the present study, it will be revealed how Islamic theologians (mutakallimūn) defended the idea that the universe had a beginning and an end, based on the concepts and theories valid in their own time, and then an evaluation of their views in terms of modern cosmology will be made. Given that one of the definitions of the science of kalām, which is widely shared both in the classical period and today, is a science that examines the universe in terms of origin (mabdaʾ) and end (maʿād), it is expected that this study will give an idea about how this distinctive aspect of kalām can be renewed today. The fact that mutakallimūn discussed the beginning and end of the universe with philosophical concepts and scientific theories in the past legitimizes the use of contemporary philosophical and scientific theories on this subject. In this respect, it is hoped that the article will contribute to updating the science of kalām.

The responses of chaplains providing care in health services during the Covid-19 pandemic showed that they both learned new skills and taught these to others while working in environments made unfamiliar by personal protective equipment and social distancing. Born in Stuttgart in 1883, Oskar Rescher was a prolific Orientalist of the 20th century. He lived in both Germany and Istanbul from 1909 to 1925 and settled down in Turkey in 1925. He studied many manuscripts found in private collections, libraries, and second-hand bookstores and sold thousands of manuscripts to various libraries, book antiquarians, and persons in Europe and America. Although the details have yet to be uncovered, Rescher’s manuscript sales are still talked about in certain circles; however, his manuscript trade has not been the subject of any study until ours. This article, which constitutes the fourth phase of a series of studies, draws attention to the 262 manuscripts Rescher sold to the Leipzig University Library between 1925-1934 and provides a list of these manuscripts after discussing the sales process. Thus, this study intends to direct attention to the 262 manuscripts one Orientalist scholar personally selected, evaluated, and sold. As in the example of the Berlin State Library, instead of sending the ordinary manuscripts that could be found almost anywhere, Rescher examined each manuscript and offered the ones that he found valuable in terms of content or physical characteristics. The prices he assigned were very reasonable, and there were librarians in Leipzig who think the future of these manuscripts is in danger and who attempt to collect as many manuscripts as possible. The list that has been organized with respect to the acquisition dates and numbers of each manuscript specifies the titles and author names. In a recent article, Didier Pollefeyt reflected on the worrisome observation that young children seemingly successfully raised in the Christian faith in Catholic schools lose this faith by the end of secondary education. According to him, the combination of an all-too-positive theology and positive psychology in primary schools (turning these into safe havens) should be complemented by theologies of vulnerability and responsibility in order to present a Christian faith that is able to assist youngsters in situations of conflict, suffering, etc. In this contribution, however, I argue that a more fundamental analysis is to be made to solve this problem, not only for pedagogical but especially for theological reasons. A theological recontextualisation in dialogue with the current context will show us that the interruption of (all too) positive theologies urges these theologies themselves to change from within, into theologies of interruption. After summarising Pollefeyt’s argument, I will analyse the current context of detraditionalisation and pluralisation, pointing to the challenges it poses to all identity construction (including Christian identity construction) that are to be interrupted by difference and otherness. Afterwards, I will shed light on the precise way in which the dynamics of negative theology foster a radical critical hermeneutical consciousness at the heart of the Christian faith, challenging any attempt at solidifying it within closed, self-securing narratives, and thus opening up these narratives to be interrupted. I will illustrate my point with a short reflection on the Gospel of Mark as a Gospel for our times. In the conclusion, I will apply the insights gained to the project of the Catholic dialogue school in order to prevent the counterproductive outcome of self-securing identities.

As part of the Post-traumatic growth models and research, spiritual growth describes all kinds of positive changes in a person\"s spiritual life after severe life crises. This study examines the spiritual growth experiences of 24 hemodialysis patients using a semi-structured interview method with a qualitative research design. It handles possible \"spiritual growth\" experiences in four areas: growth in religious belief, religious feeling, religious life, and human relations. In addition, the religious -related interpretations of the sample group are discussed as a different heading. According to the study results, the patients generally interpret their experiences with positive religious connotations. About 15 of the patients have experienced spiritual growth in at least one area that appears to be essential parameters; helplessness/despair in the face of sickness and death, a positive image of God, the concept of \"wisdom,\" and the belief in the hereafter. “Manevi gelişim”, yüksek derece zorlu hayat krizleri sonrasında kişilerin dinî/manevi hayatlarında yaşadıkları her türlü olumlu değişim deneyimini ifade eden bir kavramdır. Bulgulara göre, hastalar hastalıklarını dinî bağlamda genellikle olumlu çağrışımlarla anlamlandırmıştır. Yukarıda zikredilen alanların en az birinde manevi gelişim deneyimi yaşamışlardır. 15 hastanın gelişimlerinin arka planında; hastalık ve ölüm karşısındaki acizlik/çaresizlik, olumlu Allah tasavvuru, “hikmet” kavramı ve ahiret inancının önemli parametreler olduğu anlaşılmıştır.

It is noteworthy that the thinking of Nicholas of Cusa (1401–1464) has recurred again and again among prominent recent theologians who, critical of Modern rationality, have brought back to the fore the importance of liturgical praxis. Often, however, the mystical theology of Nicholas of Cusa had been presented during the Twentieth Century primarily as an unfinished precursor to Modern subject-philosophy in the line of Kant. In this contribution, I will consider this striking change of perspective against the background of recent debates concerning the role of liturgy not only for theology, but also for philosophy. Does Cusa’s ‘art of praising’ offer a way out of the dilemmas facing liturgical thought?

The present article argues that the unexpected end of the Union de Malines’ Code de morale culturelle, an international collaboration of prominent twentieth-century Catholic moral theologians, should be attributed to three shifts in Catholic Social Teaching, only the first two of which the Union de Malines managed to undergo: from scholastic hegemony to theological diversity, from social doctrine to personalism, and from a juridical style of writing to a humanistic one. Particularly this last shift, introduced by the Second Vatican Council, proved to be a too big a leap for the Union, understood as a ‘little social tradition,’ to take. The cultural turn, which the Union de Malines had in fact anticipated, proved by the end of the council to belong to the future.

Yet the former slave remained in a special relationship with his/her former master, called velâ (ar. walā’) or patronate. The manumitted person and his/her descendants remained bound for life to the manumitter and his/her lineal heirs through this velâ relationship, as it regulated the ongoing rights of and duties between the two parties. For example, velâ mandated the inheritance relationship between the manumitter and the freed person, entitling the manumitter and his/her lineal heirs to the freed person’s inheritance on the condition that the latter had no surviving male agnatic relatives. Using Istanbul Shari’a court records, and particularly the registers of inheritance and estate inventories for the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, this article demonstrates how the velâ arrangement worked in practice. Through a close study of the inheritance records related to slave-origin male and female members of the imperial court, it analyses how and in what ways the inheritance relationship was realized between freed Ottoman imperial court-affiliated slaves and their former masters. It also demonstrates how imperial court affiliation impacted the velâ relationship. This article suggests that unpacking the velâ institution contributes to a better understanding of the social, economic and cultural aspects of slavery in the Ottoman world.

Ce livre est le premier à réunir La Légende de saint Julien l’Hospitalier (1877) de Gustave Flaubert et les illustrations dont Franz Marc avait le projet. Des traces de la lecture de Flaubert se décèlent très tôt dans l’oeuvre du peintre allemand. Sa lithographie du chevreuil mourant sous les flèches, élaborée en 1908, est inspirée par la fameuse scène de chasse du récit. À partir de 1913, Marc s’intéresse de nouveau au « conte » de Flaubert, avec l’intention de l’illustrer. Dans son carnet d’esquisses, il réalise une série de dessins et d’aquarelles qu’il conclut avec une étude préparatoire pour sa toile Destins d’animaux. La lecture du Saint Julien l’Hospitalier a été cruciale pour Marc. Elle a fondé son regard sur le monde. Le peintre superpose la figure du chasseur de Flaubert à celle du guerrier et établit un lien direct entre la chasse, l’apocalypse et la guerre. Avant même le premier conflit mondial, La Légende et son massacre cosmique sur lequel se lève un ciel ensanglanté incitent Marc à interpréter la guerre comme un sacrifice barbare, nécessaire à la rédemption de l’Europe et de l’humanité. Challenging the narratives of an uninterrupted link between an immutable orthodox Church entrenched in tradition and a Greek national state practising religious intolerance ever since its foundation, it argues that the current religious-political configuration in Greece is the product of the major transformations occurring during the Interwar when the zeal of orthodox activists from Greece and the Ottoman empire took advantage of the unparalleled social and national crisis following the 1922 Katastrophi to finally impulse what can be justly called the orthodox version of Reform and usher in a Greek-orthodox modernity.

This contribution draws attention to human rights as an instrument of justice to deal with requests that are either made directly or may prove indirectly to be relevant to Muslims who claim the protection of freedom of religion and faith in contemporary European societies. The analysis is distributed over two distinct but complementary illustrations of such claims. The position defended here is that the key to a successful multicultural society lies in enabling adherents of all religions and beliefs, and thus also Muslims, to participate to the same extent, fully and actively, in social life, both as citizens and as private individuals. The challenge lies in finding the balance between looking after the interests of the majority society and meeting the needs and wishes of minority groups and communities, including those communities that are perceived to be ‘new’.

As a result of the missionary activities that are increasing today, Kazakhs who have changed their religion have started to appear in the society. This research explores the Kazakhs who changed their religion as a result of the intensive missionary work that emerged after independence from a sociological perspective. Then, the qualitative research method of sociology was used to investigate the current and complex events of religious change. There are three (complementary) techniques that we have used in qualitative research. They are: Interview, document examination and observation. In our research, 25 individuals were interviewed and personal information about them was provided. The process of changing religion and the reasons they changed religion were examined.
