This article discusses the laparoscopic resection of a retrorectal cystic tumor, which is a rare condition that primarily affects women between the ages of 40 and 50. The diagnosis of these tumors is often incidental, with many cases being asymptomatic. Surgical treatment is recommended due to the risk of malignant degeneration. The laparoscopic approach is preferred over robotics as it allows for shorter operating times. The article provides a case study of a 50-year-old woman who underwent laparoscopic excision of a retrorectal cyst, with successful results and no evidence of recurrence after 6 months.
