In a globalized world, linguistic harmonization leads to complex translation issues. Globalization contributed to the intricacy of the economic, social and political background, and triggered urgent requirements regarding the harmonization of legislation, which, in turn, entailed the necessity to tackle legal terminology and terminological differences. In the first part of the paper, we have briefly presented some features of the technical language and several issues caused by its intricacy. The second part of the work analyzes a specialized text in terms of lexical density, dealing with aspects such as text statistics, frequency and top words, frequency of word structures, as our main purpose has been to contribute to an enhanced understanding of specialized texts. Both jurists and translators should approach legal concepts carefully when transposing them into the target-language, in order to avoid misunderstandings. Moreover, multicultural knowledge and flexibility are only some of the requirements of a faithful legal translation.

This article focuses on the analysis of written texts by text analysis tools as a useful instrument to ESP teachers in the design of their courses and seminars. The first past of this study presents several theoretical aspects related to text analysis, such as the definition of texts and outline of their main characteristics, the roles played by lexical density and cohesiveness in understanding the meanings of texts. The second part represents the practical section and presents the results of three text analysis tools obtained after processing a specialized corpus from the field of economic sciences. These results (in terms of lexical density, readability scores, keywords, most frequently used words) revealed important pieces of information that could assist teachers in developing their students’ reading and writing skills and in choosing their teaching materials.

This paper is focused on the importance of written business communication and on some of the features that guarantee its success. In this regard, the theoretical part of the paper has tackled general aspects of written communication, focusing on its definitions, process, components and advantages. In the practical part, an analysis has been performed on three specialized texts dealing with auditor's reports. The texts were processed by specialized software that showed the readability indices and the lexical density of the texts. The analysis of the data revealed the importance of developing good writing skills for the purpose of successful written business communication.
