Deuteron-induced nuclear reactions for the generation of 103 Pd were investigated using the stacked-foil activation technique on rhodium targets at deuteron energies up to E d =33MeV. The excitation functions of the reactions 103 Rh(d,xn) 101,103 Pd, 103 Rh(d,x) 100g,cum,101m,g,102m,g Rh and 103 Rh(d,2p) 103 Ru have been measured, and the Thick-Target Yield for 103 Pd has been calculated., (Copyright © 2017 Elsevier Inc. Deuteron-induced nuclear reactions for generation of no-carrier-added (NCA) Lu isotopes were investigated using the stacked-foil activation technique on natural Yb targets at energies up to Ed=18.18MeV. The decay curve of ¹⁷⁷Yb, the growth curve of the cumulative (direct and indirect) and the direct production of (177g)Lu were determined. The analysis of these curves conducts to the evidence that the predominant route for the production of (177g)Lu is the indirect reaction ¹⁷⁶Yb(d,p)¹⁷⁷Yb, which decays to (177g)Lu. In the spectra acquired one year from the EOB the γ lines of (177m)Lu are not evident. The article studies the organic yield of reactions of chlorine atoms produced from radiative capture of neutrons of chlorine atoms in a mixture of carbon tetrachloride and hydrocarbons and alcohols. To interpret data, a new model is suggested based on the formation of organic chlorine by two precursors. One is independent of the media while the other depends on the concentration of two components in the binary mixture.

The neutron capture behavior of certain radioactive rare earth nuclides, among them171Tm and151Sm, is of interest for astrophysical reasons and for the interpretation of radiochemical data from underground nuclear tests. In order to measure neutron capture excitation functions for these radionuclides, targets were produced that met stringent requirements. An instrumentation and a method have been developed to investigate the growth of plant roots by injection of75Se radioactive isotope in the stem base. Since the isotope is transferred into the active root, it is possible to investigate where the growth occurs in the soil profile. The distribution of radioactivity in the root system is measured by means of an automatic detection equipment controlled by a portable PC. The design of the detection probe is discussed and its field use is surveyed. The whole instrumentation is compact and can easily be used to study the effects of irrigation and fertilization on crops growing under field conditions. A novel method for production of No-Carrier-Added 64Cu and 66,67Ga has been developed, based on reactions induced by deuterons up to 19 MeV on Zn target. HPGe and beta (by LSC) spectrometries proved very effective to determine radionuclidic purity of 64Cu and 66,67Ga fractions. Experimental specific activity for 64Cu was measured by ET-AAS and was of the order of 700 MBq · μg−1. Radiochemical yields for 64Cu and 66,67Ga were >80% and >99%. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
