Abstract

A simple synthesis of 5-dialkylamino-6-aryl-(2H)-pyridazin-3-one from 5,6-dichloropyridazinone is described. The synthesis involves a palladium-catalyzed Suzuki-Miyaura cross coupling of 6-chloro-5-dialkylaminopyridazinone with various arylboronic acids as the key transformation.

Abstract

A detail study was conducted to study the molecular structures of pyrazine in the 3s Rydberg states and the ground and excited states of its cations. The findings offered insights into the dynamics of ionic states and high-n Rydberg states converging to the [D.sub.1] vibronic states which are short-lived due to electronic autoinization to the [D.sub.0] continuum.

Abstract

The synthesis, electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical studies of the redox systems [{([mu]-tppz)[[Ru(bik)Cl].sub.2]}.sup.n+] (tppz = 2,3,5,6-tetrakis(2-pyridyl)pyrazine, bik = 2,2'-bis(1-methylimidazolyl)ketone, n = 0-4) and [{(tppz)Ru(bik)Cl}.sup.n+], n = 0-2 are presented. The mixed-valent [{([mu]-tppz)[[Ru(bik)Cl].sub.2]}.sup.3+] has displayed a perceptibility broader [v.sub.CO] band, which has indicated an incomplete valence averaging (partial localization).

Abstract

Studies were conducted to investigate the hydrogen bonding between water and pyrazine in its ground, lowest (n,[pi]*), and lowest ([pi],[pi]*) states. The solvent shifts determined for the complexes are found to match experimental data and provide a basis for the understanding of the aqueous solvation of pyrazine, and the excited-state complexes are predicted to be only short-lived, explaining the failure of molecular beam experiments to observe them.

Abstract

The synthesis, characterization and electrochemical, photophysical and photocvhemical properties of the binuclear compounds [(Ru(H8-bpy)(sub 2))(sub 2)(Metr)(sub 2)Pz)](PF6)(sub 2) and [(Ru(D8-bpy)(sub 2))(sub 2)(Metr)(Sub 2)Pz)](PF6)(sub 2) where bpy is 2,2'-bipyridine and H2(Metr)(sub 2)Pz is the planar ligand 2,5-bis(5'-methyl-4'H-[1,2,4]triaz-3'-yl)-pyrazine are reported. Resonance Raman, transient and time-resolved spectroscopies enable a detailed assignment to be made of the excited-state photophysical properties of the complexes.
