Background: The association of aspartate aminotransferase to alanine aminotransferase ratio (De Ritis ratio) with clinical outcomes in patients with chronic coronary syndromes (CCS) remains unclear. This study aims to assess the association of De Ritis ratio with adverse cardiovascular events in patients with CCS. Materials and Methods: The study included 5020 patients with CCS undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention. Patients were categorized into groups according to tertiles of the De Ritis ratio: tertile 1 (De Ritis ratio: <.75; n = 1688 patients), tertile 2 (De Ritis ratio:.75–1.08; n = 1666 patients) and tertile 3 (De Ritis ratio: >1.08; n = 1666 patients). The primary endpoint was 3‐year mortality. Results: At 3 years, there were 384 deaths, 176 myocardial infarctions and 61 strokes. In groups with De Ritis in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd tertiles, deaths occurred in 5.0%, 7.5% and 14.5% of the patients, respectively (adjusted hazard ratio = 1.09, 95% confidence interval [1.06–1.12], p <.001); myocardial infarctions occurred in 2.6%, 3.5% and 5.1% of the patients, respectively (p <.001); strokes occurred in 1.0%, 1.2% and 1.9% of the patients, respectively (p =.030); bleeding at 30 days (n = 112) occurred in 1.4%, 1.6% and 3.7% of the patients, respectively (p <.001). Whether aspartate aminotransferase (AST) to alanine aminotransferase (ALT) ratio (De Ritis ratio) with AST and ALT activities within the reference range has prognostic value is unknown. This study included 3392 patients with stable coronary artery disease and AST and ALT activities within the reference range. Patients are categorized in groups according to tertiles of the De Ritis ratio: a group with De Ritis ratio in the 1st tertile (De Ritis ratio: 0.22 to 0.81; n = 1131), a group with De Ritis ratio in the 2nd tertile (De Ritis ratio: >0.81 to 1.09; n = 1130) and a group with De Ritis ratio in the 3rd tertile (De Ritis ratio: >1.09 to 3.40; n = 1131). The primary endpoint was 3-year mortality. The mean value of De Ritis ratio was 1.00 ± 0.39 (range: 0.22–3.40). Overall, there were 234 deaths at 3 years: 43 deaths in patients of 1st tertile, 75 deaths in patients of 2nd tertile and 116 deaths in patients of 3rd tertile of De Ritis ratio (Kaplan-Meier estimates of 3-year mortality, 4.4 %, 7.8 % and 12.5 %, respectively; (adjusted hazard ratio = 1.24, 95 % confidence interval 1.12 to 1.38; P < 0.001 for 1 unit higher De Ritis ratio). The association between aspartate aminotransferase to alanine aminotransferase ratio (De Ritis ratio) and prognosis of patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) remains poorly investigated. This study included 3000 patients with AMI undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention. Patients were categorized in groups according to tertiles of the De Ritis ratio: tertile 1 (De Ritis ratio < 1.11; 905 patients), tertile 2 (De Ritis ratio 1.11 to 1.95; 1003 patients) and tertile 3 (De Ritis ratio > 1.95; 1002 patients). The primary endpoint was 3-year all-cause mortality. At 3 years, all-cause deaths occurred in 487 patients: 119 deaths (13.2%) in patients of 1st tertile, 164 deaths (17.8%) in patients of 2nd tertile and 204 deaths (21.9%) in patients of 3rd tertile of the De Ritis ratio (adjusted hazard ratio [HR] = 1.16, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.02 to 1.31], P = 0.023 per unit increment in the logarithmic scale of the De Ritis ratio); cardiac deaths occurred in 328 patients: 76 deaths (8.2%) in patients of 1st tertile, 110 deaths (12.0%) in patients of 2nd tertile and 142 deaths (15.4%) in patients of 3rd tertile of the De Ritis ratio (adjusted HR = 1.20 [1.04–1.40], P = 0.014 per unit increment in the logarithmic scale of De Ritis ratio). Background: N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) is frequently used as a valuable prognostic biomarker in cardiac diseases. In children, however, it has not been established because of its strong age dependency. To overcome this obstacle, we recently introduced the zlog value of N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (zlog-proBNP) as an age-adjusted reference.Objectives: This study evaluates the prognostic power of zlog-proBNP for the occurrence of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) throughout childhood in patients with congenital heart diseases (CHD).Methods: A total of 910 children with CHD (median age 5 months; range 0.0-18.0 years) were included. MACE was defined as death, resuscitation, mechanical circulatory support, or hospitalization caused by cardiac decompensation. Because the physiological NT-proBNP concentration decreases significantly during childhood, zlog values were applied for an age-independent evaluation.Results: MACE occurred in 138 children during a median follow-up of 6 months (range 1 day to 7.6 years). High zlog-proBNP values (>+3.0) were most strongly associated with adverse events (n = 93; adjusted HR: 21.1; 95% CI: 2.9-154.2; P < 0.001). Among all evaluated indicators, zlog-proBNP was the best predictor for MACE (adjusted HR: 1.52; 95% CI: 1.31-1.76; P < 0.001) along with age and predictively superior to absolute NT-proBNP values. A cutoff value of +1.96 (age-independent upper limit of the physiological NT-proBNP concentration) achieved a negative predictive value of >96%.Conclusions: Zlog-proBNP overcomes the strong age dependency of NT-proBNP and is a powerful prognostic marker for age-independent exclusion and prediction of MACE in children with CHD. Data regarding the association between alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and prognosis of patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) are limited. The aim of this study was to assess the association of ALT with the prognosis of patients with CAD. The study included 9523 patients with angiography-proven CAD who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention. Baseline ALT activity measurements were available for analysis in all patients. The primary outcome was 3-year cardiac mortality. Patients were divided into three groups: a group with ALT within the 1st tertile (ALT 2.0 U/L to ≤17.0 U/L; n = 3276 patients), a group with ALT within the 2nd tertile (ALT >17.0 U/L to ≤26.0 U/L; n = 3075 patients) and a group with ALT within 3rd tertile (>26 U/L to ≤50.0 U/L; n = 3172 patients). Cardiac death (primary outcome) occurred in 441 patients: 201 (7.1%), 126 (4.7%) and 114 (4.0%) of these occurring in patients in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd ALT tertiles, respectively (with percentages representing Kaplan–Meier estimates of 3-year cardiac mortality); adjusted hazard ratio = 1.43, 95% confidence interval 1.11 to 1.85, P = 0.006 calculated for 1 unit decrement in the logarithmic scale of ALT. The multivariable model for cardiac mortality with baseline variables without ALT had a C-statistic of 0.827 [0.801–0.853], P < 0.001, which increased to 0.832 [0.806–0.857], P < 0.001 after incorporation of ALT (P = 0.020). In patients with CAD, ALT was inversely and independently associated with the risk of 3-year cardiac mortality. Objectives The objective of the study was to investigate the association between alkaline phosphatase (AP) activity and prognosis of patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Design and methods The study included 2134 patients with ACS undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention. All included patients had baseline AP measurements available. The receiver operating characteristic curve analysis showed that the best cut-off of AP for mortality prediction was 98.0 U/L. Using this cut-off, patients were divided into two groups: a group with AP > 98.0 U/L ( n = 493) and a group with AP ≤ 98.0 U/L ( n = 1641). The primary endpoint was 3-year mortality. Results Overall, there were 229 deaths over the follow-up: 90 deaths among patients with an AP > 98.0 U/L and 139 deaths among patients with an AP ≤ 98.0 U/L (Kaplan-Meier estimates of 3-year total mortality, 19.5% and 9.3%, respectively; adjusted hazard ratio [HR] = 1.37, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.10–1.70, P = 0.004 for each unit higher log AP). Cardiac deaths occurred in 157 patients: 66 deaths among patients with an AP > 98.0 U/L and 91 deaths among patients with an AP ≤ 98.0 U/L (Kaplan-Meier estimates of 3-year cardiac mortality, 14.3% and 6.0%, respectively; adjusted HR = 1.32 [1.02–1.70], P = 0.033, for each unit higher log AP). High molecular group box 1 (HMGB1) is a highly conserved member of the HMG-box-family; abundantly expressed in almost all human cells and released in apoptosis; necrosis or by activated immune cells. Once in the extracellular space, HMGB1 can act as a danger associated molecular pattern (DAMP), thus stimulating or inhibiting certain functions of the immune system; depending on the "combinatorial cocktail" of the surrounding milieu. HMGB1 exerts its various functions through binding to a multitude of membrane-bound receptors such as TLR-2; -4 and -9; IL-1 and RAGE (receptor for advanced glycation end products); partly complex-bound with intracellular fragments like nucleosomes. Soluble RAGE in the extracellular space, however, acts as a decoy receptor by binding to HMGB1 and inhibiting its effects. This review aims to outline today's knowledge of structure, intraand extracellular functions including mechanisms of release and finally the clinical relevance of HMGB1 and RAGE as clinical biomarkers in therapy monitoring, prediction and prognosis of malignant and autoimmune disease. Prognostic information on the course of cancer disease is highly relevant for the accurate decision of the most effective treatment strategy for an individual patient. In early stage disease, the application of adjuvant chemo- or radiotherapy after surgery depends on the risk of the patient to early suffer from tumor recurrence. In advanced stage disease, risk stratification of the patients influences the choice of more aggressive or mild therapy alternatives. Besides tumor related parameters like tumor stage and individual factors, additional information by biomarkers is needed to better characterize patients prognosis in both situations. Although there are plenty of studies dealing on the prognostic relevance of diverse biomarkers in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), the results are quite heterogeneous and sometimes conflicting. Reasons for this situation may be found in the design, the performance, the evaluation and the quality of result reporting of the studies. In this review, we focus on the prerequisites of informative prognostic trials, spot on the general shortcomings of studies published so far, and summarize the results of the prognostic studies available for early and advanced stages of NSCLC. The dysregulation of proliferating and apoptotic processes is a common feature in cancerogenesis. Thus, apoptotic products released into blood circulation are suggested as promising markers for the early cancer detection. However though sensitive assays are available, the lack of organ- and tumor-specificity limits the usefulness of most apoptotic parameters for screening purposes. However, they seem to be valuable for the prognosis and the prediction of response to systemic chemo- or radiotherapy in cancer disease. Here, the relevance of diverse circulating apoptotic markers is reviewed for the clinical management of patients with lung cancer. Among those promising markers are ligands and receptors of the FAS-system, members of the intracellular caspase cascade, cleaved apoptosis substrates such as cytokeratines, nucleosomal DNA, and apoptosis modulators like survivin. Nucleosomes, complexes of DNA and histone proteins, are released from dying and stressed cells into the blood circulation. Concentrations of circulating nucleosomes in plasma and serum are frequently found to be elevated in various cancers, and also in such acute conditions as stroke, trauma, and sepsis as well as in autoimmune diseases. The first part of this review focuses on the structural and functional properties of nucleosomes, the potential sources of nucleosome release into the circulation, the metabolism of circulating nucleosomes, and their pathophysiological role in disease. It goes on to describe the relevance of circulating nucleosomes in the diagnosis and prognosis of non-malignant conditions such as sepsis, stroke, and autoimmune disease. Finally, it describes the clinical value of nucleosomes in the diagnosis, staging, prognosis, and monitoring of therapy in cancer; in particular, their potential as a new diagnostic tool for the early estimation of response to cytotoxic cancer therapy is emphasized. Nucleosomes, complexes of DNA and histone proteins, are released during cell death into the blood circulation. Elevated serum and plasma levels have been found in various forms of cancer, but also in autoimmune diseases and acute situations such as stroke, trauma, and during sepsis. Here, the clinical relevance of circulating nucleosomes for diagnosis, staging, prognosis, and therapeutic monitoring of cancer is reviewed. Several studies have shown that levels of nucleosomes are significantly higher in serum and plasma of cancer patients in comparison to healthy controls. However, because of elevations of nucleosome levels in patients with benign diseases relevant for differential diagnosis, they are not suitable for cancer diagnosis. Concerning tumor staging, nucleosome levels correlate with tumor stage and presence of metastases in gastrointestinal cancer, but not in other tumor types. Prognostic value of circulating nucleosomes is found in lung cancer in univariate analyses, but not in multivariate analyses. Circulating nucleosomes are most informative for the monitoring of cytotoxic therapy. Strongly decreasing levels are mainly found in patients with remission of disease, whereas constantly high or increasing values are associated with progressive disease during chemo- and radiotherapy. In addition, therapy outcome is already indicated by the nucleosomal course during the first week of chemo- and radiotherapy in patients with lung, pancreatic, and colorectal cancer as well as in hematologic malignancies. Despite their non-tumor-specificity, kinetics of nucleosomes are valuable markers for the early estimation of therapeutic efficacy and may be helpful to adapting early cancer therapy in the future. The prognostic relevance of blood markers in cerebral stroke is still a matter of controversial debate. In sera of 63 patients, nucleosomes, neuronspecific enolase (NSE), S100 protein, and C-reactive protein (CRP) were determined daily during the first week after cerebral stroke. Infarction volume was quantified by CT or MRI and the clinical status by Barthel Index (BI) at admission, discharge, and after 12 months (prognosis). All markers were evaluated by univariate and multivariate analysis on their prognostic relevance. During observation time (12 months), three patients died and 33 reached complete recovery. Infarction volume, nucleosomes, NSE, S100, and CRP correlated significantly with clinical status at admission. The same markers except CRP and initial BI correlated with recovery after 12 months. Almost all patients with initial BI ‡ 50 reached complete recovery. In patients with initially severe defects (BI < 50), nucleosomes and S100, both at day 3, were found to be prognostically relevant. At 100%-specificity for non-recovery, only nucleosomes maintained their prognostic power (sensitivity 52.6%; p = 0.014), whereas S100 did not (sensitivity 16.7%; p = 0.25). In multivariate analysis, nucleosomes and BI at admission showed independent prognostic relevance (p = 0.039). Simple Summary: In oncology, the identification of early predictors of response/survival is of particular interest. C-reactive protein (CRP) concentrations have been associated with advanced non-small-cell lung cancer and poor prognosis. We characterized the association between anticancer drug exposure, tumor size as a marker of tumor dynamics, and CRP as a marker of inflammation and derived different predictors. CRP at the beginning of treatment cycle 3 (day 42) was identified as the strongest predictor of both progression-free survival and overall survival, and the inflammatory status, monitored by CRP concentration, emerged as a promising prognostic marker. The high significance of longitudinal CRP concentrations compared to baseline concentrations provided a true reflection of the patient status. This framework could be applied to other treatment modalities such as immunotherapies or targeted therapies, allowing the identification of patients at risk of early progression and/or short survival to spare them unnecessary toxicities and offer alternative treatment decisions. By leveraging clinical data in patients with advanced non-small-cell lung cancer receiving first-line chemotherapy, we aimed to develop a framework combining anticancer drug exposure, tumor dynamics (RECIST criteria), and C-reactive protein (CRP) concentrations, using nonlinear mixed-effects models, to evaluate and quantify by means of parametric time-to-event models the significance of early longitudinal predictors of progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS). Tumor dynamics was characterized by a tumor size (TS) model accounting for anticancer drug exposure and development of drug resistance. CRP concentrations over time were characterized by a turnover model. An x-fold change in TS from baseline linearly affected CRP production. CRP concentration at treatment cycle 3 (day 42) and the difference between CRP concentration at treatment cycles 3 and 2 were the strongest predictors of PFS and OS. Measuring longitudinal CRP allows for the monitoring of inflammatory levels and, along with its reduction across treatment cycles, presents a promising prognostic marker. Background: Trauma is still a major cause of mortality in people < 50 years of age. Biomarkers are needed to estimate the severity of the condition and the patient outcome. Methods: Cell-free DNA (cfDNA) and further laboratory markers were determined in plasma and serum of 164 patients at time of admission to the emergency room. Among them were 64 patients with severe trauma (Injury Severity Score (ISS) ≥ 16), 51 patients with moderate trauma (ISS < 16) and 49 patients with single fractures (24 femur neck and 25 ankle fractures). Disease severity was objectified by ISS and Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS). Results: cfDNA levels in plasma and serum were significantly higher in patients with severe multiple trauma (SMT) than in those with moderate trauma (p = 0.002, p = 0.003, respectively) or with single fractures (each p < 0.001). CfDNA in plasma and serum correlated very strongly with each other (R = 0.91; p < 0.001). The AUC in ROC curves for identification of SMT patients was 0.76 and 0.74 for cfDNA in plasma and serum, respectively—this was further increased to 0.84 by the combination of cfDNA and hemoglobin. Within the group of multiple trauma patients, cfDNA levels were significantly higher in more severely injured patients and patients with severe traumatic brain injury (GCS ≤ 8 versus GCS > 8). Thirteen (20.3%) of the multiple trauma patients died during the first week after trauma. Levels of cfDNA were significantly higher in non-surviving patients than in survivors (p < 0.001), reaching an AUC of 0.81 for cfDNA in both, plasma and serum, which was further increased by the combination with hemoglobin and leukocytes. Background: The prognostic value of in‐hospital haemoglobin drop in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) undergoing invasive therapy remains insufficiently investigated. Materials and Methods: This observational study included 3838 patients with ACS with admission and in‐hospital nadir haemoglobin values available. Haemoglobin drop was defined as a positive difference between admission and nadir haemoglobin values. The primary endpoint was one‐year all‐cause mortality. Results: In‐hospital haemoglobin drop occurred in 3142 patients (82%). Patients were categorized into 4 groups: no haemoglobin drop (n = 696 patients), <3 g/dl haemoglobin drop (n = 2703 patients), 3 to <5 g/dl haemoglobin drop (n = 344 patients) and ≥5 g/dl haemoglobin drop (n = 95 patients). The primary endpoint occurred in 156 patients: 17 patients (2.5%) in the group with no haemoglobin drop, 81 patients (3.0%) in the group with <3g/dl haemoglobin drop, 37 patients (10.9%) in the group with 3 to <5 g/dl haemoglobin drop and 21 patients (22.2%) in the group with ≥5 g/dl haemoglobin (adjusted hazard ratio [HR] = 1.30, 95% confidence interval 1.17 to 1.45; p <.001 for one g/dl haemoglobin drop). The association of haemoglobin drop with one‐year mortality remained significant after exclusion of patients with in‐hospital overt bleeding (adjusted HR = 1.27 [1.11–1.46]; p <.001 for one g/dl haemoglobin drop). The lowest haemoglobin drop associated with mortality was 1.23 g/dl in all patients (HR = 1.03 [1.02–1.04]) and 1.13 g/dl in patients without overt bleeding (HR = 1.03 [1.01–1.04]). Gastric cancer (GC) is among the most frequent malignant diseases. Despite advances in treatment, the clinical outcome of patients with GC remains poor. The establishment of novel biomarkers is urgently required for early detection, treatment evaluation and prognostic assessment. Non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) are a key topic of intensive research due to their potential applications in the field of oncology. The long ncRNA H19 has been frequently reported as overexpressed in many cancers including GC. In the present study, the diagnostic and prognostic value of circulating H19 in GC was assessed. Higher levels of circulating H19 were identified in GC patients (n=40) compared with a control group consisting of endoscopy-verified GC-free individuals (n=42; median levels relative to GAPDH, 58.4 vs. 29.9; P=0.027). Patients with smaller tumor sizes (<5 cm) exhibited higher H19 in their circulation compared with those with larger tumors (=5 cm; P=0.04). Plasma levels of H19 declined significantly upon surgical removal of gastric tumors as documented in a subset of patients [n=20; relative median levels, 146.0 vs. 15.0 (pre-surgery); P=0.003]. However, it was identified that H19 had no prognostic role in GC by the Kaplan-Meier method. In conclusion, the present findings identify H19 as potential diagnostic marker in GC. Aim Hepatic apoptosis is involved in the pathogenesis of immune-mediated liver diseases such as autoimmune hepatitis ( AIH), primary biliary cirrhosis ( PBC) and primary sclerosing cholangitis ( PSC). The aim of our study was to quantify distinct markers of apoptosis in sera of patients with AIH, PBC and PSC, and to evaluate correlation with markers of disease activity and prognosis. Methods Sera of patients with AIH, PBC and PSC, and of healthy controls were collected and distinct cell death markers were quantified using a bead-based multiplex enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (soluble intracellular adhesion molecule [ sICAM], macrophage migration inhibitory factor [ MIF], soluble Fas [s Fas], plasminogen activator inhibitor 1 [ PAI-1]) or single enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays ( DNAse, M30, M65). Results In comparison with healthy controls, the apoptotic markers sFas, sICAM (only in PSC patients), M30 and the cell death marker M65 were substantially elevated in sera of patients with immune-mediated liver diseases, whereas DNAse activity was reduced. Interestingly, patients with advanced PSC presented with higher levels of sICAM, M30 and M65 than patients with mild PSC. Regression analysis revealed correlations between serum levels of sICAM, M30 and M65 with the Mayo Risk Score for PSC, and of M65 with the Mayo Risk Score for PBC. Conclusion Concentrations of the serum markers of apoptosis sFas and M30 and of the marker of total cell death M65 are elevated in patients with immune-mediated liver diseases, whereas activity of DNAse is reduced. Purpose: CA 19-9 is the only established tumor marker in pancreatic cancer (PC); the prognostic role of other serum markers like CEA, CRP, LDH or bilirubin has not yet been defined. Methods: We pooled pre-treatment data on CA 19-9, CEA, CRP, LDH and bilirubin levels from two German multicenter randomized phase II trials together with prospective patient data from one high-volume German Cancer Center. Marker levels were assessed locally before the start of palliative first-line therapy for advanced PC and serially during treatment (for CA 19-9 only). Clinical and biomarker data (overall 12 variables) were correlated with the efficacy endpoints time-to-progression (TTP) and overall survival (OS) by using uni- and multivariate Cox models. Results: Data from 291 patients were included in this pooled analysis; 253 patients (87 %) received treatment within prospective clinical trials. Median TTP in the study cohort was 5.1 months and median OS 9.0 months. In univariate analysis, pre-treatment CA 19-9 (HR 1.55), LDH (HR 2.04) and CEA (HR 1.89) levels were significantly associated with TTP. Regarding OS, baseline CA 19-9 (HR 1.46), LDH (HR 2.07), CRP (HR 1.69) and bilirubin (HR 1.62) were significant prognostic factors. Within multivariate analyses, pre-treatment log [CA 19-9] (as continuous variable for TTP) and log [bilirubin] as well as log [CRP] (for OS) had an independent prognostic value. A CA 19-9 decline of ≥25 % during the first two chemotherapy cycles was predictive for TTP and OS, independent of the applied CA 19-9 assay. Conclusion: Baseline CA 19-9 and CA 19-9 kinetics during first-line chemotherapy are prognostic in advanced PC. Background: High mobility group box 1 protein (HMGB1) is known for its significant elevation in a multitude of tumors and benign diseases. In this study, we investigated the relevance of soluble HMGB1 for the prediction and monitoring of therapy response as well as the estimation of prognosis in advanced lung cancer. Materials and Methods: In a retrospective study, HMGB1 levels were assessed by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) in the sera of 96 patients with advanced lung cancer (79 non-small-cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC); 14 small cell lung carcinoma (SCLC), 3 Mesothelioma) prior to cycles 1, 2, and 3 of chemotherapy and correlated with radiological therapy response after 2 and 4 cycles as well as with overall survival. In addition, HMGB1 was compared with established tumor markers cytokeratin 19-fragments (CYFRA 21-1), carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and neuron specific enolase (NSE). Results: While pretherapeutic HMGB1 levels were not predictive or prognostically relevant in NSCLC patients, HMGB1 values prior to cycles 2 and 3 as well as kinetics from cycle 1 to 2 discriminated significantly between patients with good (remission and stable disease) and poor response (progression). Performance of HMGB1 in receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analyses of NSCLC patients, with areas under the curve (AUCs) of 0.690 at cycle 2 and 0.794 at cycle 3 as well as sensitivities of 34.4% and 37.5%, respectively, for progression at 90% specificity, was comparable with the best tumor-associated antigen CYFRA 21-1 (AUCs 0.719 and 0.799; sensitivities of 37.5% and 41.7%, respectively). Furthermore, high concentrations of HMGB1 at cycles 2 and 3 were associated with shorter overall survival in NSCLC patients. Conclusion: Soluble HMGB1 is a promising biomarker for prediction of therapy response and prognosis in advanced NSCLC patients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
