The reaction behaviour of 1, 3, 5-triaza-2σ3λ3-phosphorin-4, 6-dionyloxy-substituted calix[4]arenes towards mono- and binuclear rhodium and platinum complexes was investigated. Special attention was directed to structure and dynamic behaviour of the products in solution and in the solid state. Depending on the molar ratio of the reactands, the reaction of the tetrakis(triazaphosphorindionyloxy)-substituted calix[4]arene (4) and its tert-butyl-derivative (1) with [(cod)RhCl]2 yielded the mono- and disubstituted binuclear rhodium complexes 2, 3, and 5. In all cases, a C2-symmetrical structure was proved in solution, apparently caused by a fast intramolecular exchange process between cone conformation and 1, 3-alternating conformation. The X-ray crystal structure determination of 5 confirmed [(calixarene)RhCl]2-coordination through two opposite phosphorus atoms with a P P separation of 345 pm. The complex displays crystallographic inversion symmetry, and the Rh2Cl2 core is thus exactly planar. Reaction of 1 and of the bis(triazaphosphorindionyloxy)-bis(methoxy)-substituted tert-butyl-calix-[4]arene (7) with (cod)Rh(acac) in equimolar ratio and subsequent reaction with HBF4 led to the expected cationic monorhodium complexes 5 and 8, involving 1, 3-alternating P-Rh-P-coordination. The cone conformation in solution was proved by NMR spectroscopy and characteristic values of the 1J(PRh) coupling constants in the 31P-NMR-spectra. Reaction of equimolar amounts of 4 with (cod)Rh(acac) or (nbd)Rh(acac) led, by substitution of the labile coordinated acetylacetonato and after addition of HBF4, to the corresponding mononuclear cationic complexes 9 and 10. Only two of the four phosphorus atoms in 9 and 10 are coordinated to the central metal atom. Displacement of either cycloocta-1, 5-diene or norbornadiene was not observed. For both compounds, the cone conformation was proved by NMR spectroscopy. Reaction of 4 with (cod)PtCl2 led to the PtCl2-complex (11). As for all compounds mentioned above, only two phosphorus atoms of the ligand coordinate to platinum, while two phosphorus atoms remain uncoordinated (proved by δ31P and characteristic values of 1J(PPt)). NMR-spectroscopic evidence was found for the existence of the cone conformation in the cis-configuration of 11. Ein- und zweikernige Komplexe des Rhodiums und Platins von 1, 3, 5-Trimethyl-1, 3, 5-triaza-2σ3λ3-phosphorin-4, 6-dionyloxy-substituierten Calix[4]arenen Das Reaktionsverhalten von 1, 3, 5-Trimethyl-1, 3, 5-triaza-2σ3λ3-phosphorin-4, 6-dionyloxy-substituierten Calix-[4]arenen gegenuber ein- und zweikernigen Rhodium- und Platin-Komplexen wurde untersucht. Besonderes Augenmerk wurde auf die Untersuchung der Struktur und des dynamischen Verhaltens der Produkte im festen Zustand und in Losung gelegt. Abhangig vom molaren Verhaltnis der Reaktanden lieferte die Umsetzung des tetrakis(triazaphosphorindionyloxy)-substituierten Calix[4]-arens (4) und seines tert-Butyl-Analogons (1) mit [(cod)RhCl]2 die mono- und disubstituierten, zweikernigen Rhodiumkomplexe 2, 3 und 5. In allen Fallen wurde eine C2-symmetrische Struktur in Losung nachgewiesen, die anscheinend aus einem schnellen intramo-lekularen Austauschprozes zwischen der Konus- und der 1, 3-alternierenden Konformation resultiert. Die Rontgenstrukturanalyse von 5 bestatigte die [(Calixaren)RhCl]2-Koordination uber zwei gegenuberliegende Phosphoratome mit einem P P-Abstand von 345 pm. Der Komplex zeigt kristallographische Inversionssymmetrie, damit ist die Rh2Cl2-Verbruckungseinheit exakt planar. Die Reaktion von 1 und dem bis(triazaphosphorindionyloxy)-bis(methoxy)-substituierten tert-Butyl-Calix[4]aren (7) mit (cod)-Rh(acac) in aquimolarem Verhaltnis und anschliesender Umsetzung mit HBF4 fuhrte zu den erwarteten Monorhodiumkomplexen 6 und 8 mit 1, 3-alternierender P-Rh-P-Koordination. Die Konus-Konformation wurde in Losung durch NMR-Spektroskopie und charakteristische 1J(PRh)-Kopplungskonstanten in den 31P-NMR-Spektren nachgewiesen. Die Umsetzung aquimolarer Mengen von 4 mit (cod)Rh(acac) und (nbd)Rh(acac) fuhrte durch Substitution des schwachkoordinierten Acetylacetonato-Restes und nach Zugabe von HBF4 zu den entsprechenden einkernigen Komplexen 9 und 10. Nur zwei der vier Phosphoratome von 9 und 10 sind ans Zentralmetallatom koordiniert. Abspaltung von Cycloocta-1, 5-dien oder Norbornadien wurde nicht beobachtet. Fur beide Verbindungen wurde die Konus-Konformation durch NMR-Spektroskopie nachgewiesen. Die Umsetzung von 4 mit (cod)PtCl2 ergab den PtCl2-Komplex (11). Wie bei allen zuvor genannten Verbindungen, koordinieren nur zwei der Phosphoratome an Platin, wahrend zwei Phosphoratome unkoordiniert bleiben (nachgewiesen durch die Signalmuster im 31P-NMR-Spektrum mit charakteristischen Werten fur die 1J(PPt)-Kopplungskonstanten). NMR-spektroskopische Evidenz wurde auch fur die Existenz der Konus-Konformation in der cis-Konfiguration von 11 gefunden.

Verschiedene Diazadiphosphetidine werden aus PCl5 und primaren Aminen, entsprechend einer modifizierten Kirsanov-Reaktion, hergestellt und einer Rontgenstrukturanalyse unterzogen. Die Ergebnisse der Rontgenstrukturanalysen der Hexahalogendiazadiphosphetidine weisen auf eine sterische Hinderung in der cyclohexylsubstituierten Verbindung 4 hin. Im Vergleich zur Struktur der Fluorverbindung 12 wird gezeigt, das die sterische Hinderung nur bei Chlorphosphoranen eine Rolle spielt. Bei der Kirsanov-Reaktion von PCl5 mit aliphatischen Aminen, die in α-Stellung verzweigt sind, wurde eine Folgereaktion beobachtet, wenn das Amin im Uberschus eingesetzt wurde. Das Phosphonium-Salz 11 wird durch 1H-, 13C- und 31P-NMR-Spektren, FAB-Massenspektrum, Elementaranalyse und Rontgenstrukturanalyse zweifelsfrei charakterisiert. X-Ray Structure Analysis of Diazadiphosphetidines Various diazadiphosphetidines are synthesized by a modified Kirsanov reaction and subjected to X-ray crystal structure analysis, the results of which show steric hindrance in the cyclohexyl-substituted compound 4. A comparison of its structure to that of the fluorine compound 12 shows that the steric hindrance occurs only in the case of chlorophosphoranes. During the Kirsanov reaction with aliphatic amines branched at the α-position, a further reaction is observed if the amine is added in excess. The phosphonium salt 11 is characterized by 1H-, 13C- and 31P-NMR-spectra, FAB-mass spectrum, elemental analysis and X-ray crystal structure analysis.

Durch Umsetzung von 1-Methyl-pyrido[3,2-e]-3,1-oxazin-2,4-dion (1) mit Benzylaminen wurden die Aminonicotinsaureamide 2–4 gebildet. Die anschliesende Umsetzung mit Phosphortrichlorid lieferte die P-Chlor-pyridodiazaphosphorinone 5–7, die durch Umsetzung mit Bis-(2-chlorethyl)ammoniumchlorid/Triethylamin in die entsprechenden P-bis-(2-chlorethyl)amino-substituierten Pyridodiazaphosphorinone 8–10 uberfuhrt wurden. Das P-Chlor-benzodiazaphosphorinon 11 wurde mit 2-Chlorethylammoniumchlorid/Triethylamin zum 2-Chlorethylamino-substituierten Derivat 12 umgesetzt. Durch Oxidation der σ3Diazaphosphorinone 8, 9, 12 und 13 mit dem Harnstoff-Wasserstoffperoxid-(1 : 1)-Addukt wurden die entsprechenden Phosphorylderivate 14–17 erhalten. Die oxidative Addition von Hexafluoraceton (HFA) an das σ3-Diazaphosphorinon 18 fuhrte unter Abspaltung von Methylchlorid zu dem tricyclischen Phosphoran 19 b. Die Spirophosphorane 21–23 wurden durch Reaktion der Verbindungen 8, 9 und 13 mit HFA gebildet. Es wurden NMR-Untersuchungen hinsichtlich der Zersetzung der bicyclischen Phosphorane 20 a, 22 und 23 unternommen. Die oxidative Addition von HFA an Diazaphosphorinone stellte sich dabei als reversibel heraus. Von den Verbindungen 17 und 19 b wurden Rontgenstrukturanalysen angefertigt, die die erwartete Konnektivitat bestatigen. Verbindung 17 weist kurze C–H…O-Wasserstoffbrucken auf (H…O 234 pm). Verbindung 19 kristallisiert mit zwei unabhangigen Molekulen, die sich u. a. in der Ausrichtung der Chlorethylgruppen unterscheiden. Synthesis of Bis-(2-chloroethyl)amino-substituted Diazaphosphorinones. Reversible Oxidative Addition of Hexafluoroacetone to σ3λ3-Phosphorus Compounds. Synthesis of σ5λ5-Spirophosphoranes and their Decomposition The reaction of 1-methyl-pyrido[3,2-e]-3,1-oxazin-2,4-dione (1) with benzylamines led to the aminonicotinic acid amides 2–4. Their reaction with phosphorus trichloride furnished the P-chloro-pyridodiazaphosphorinones 5–7, which, upon reaction with bis-(2-chloroethyl) ammonium chloride/triethylamine, were converted into the P-bis-(2-chloroethyl)amino-substituted pyridodiazaphosphorinones 8–10. The P-chloro-benzodiazaphosphorinone 11 was allowed to react with 2-chloroethylammonium chloride/triethylamine to form the 2-chloroethylamino-substituted derivative 12. The σ3-diazaphosphorinones 8, 9, 12 and 13 were oxidized with the urea-hydrogen peroxide-(1 : 1)-adduct to the corresponding phosphoryl derivatives 14–17. The oxidative addition of hexafluoroacetone (HFA) to the σ3-diazaphosphorinone 18 led, with abstraction of methyl chloride, to the tricyclic phosphorane 19 b. The spirophosphoranes 21–23 were formed by reaction of compounds 8, 9 and 13 with HFA. NMR-studies were made on the decomposition of the bicyclic phosphoranes 20 a, 22 and 23. The oxidative addition of HFA to diazaphosphorinones was found to be reversible. Single crystal X-ray determinations were conducted on compounds 17 and 19 b. They confirm the expected connectivity. Compound 17 was found to exhibit short C–H‥ O-hydrogen bonds (H…O 234 pm). Compound 19 crystallises as two independent molecules which differ, e. g., in the orientation of the chloroethyl groups.

The nature of the products from the reaction of TrtPH2 (1) with an equimolar amount of phosgene strongly depends on the solvent. The initial intermediate 2 was isolated from toluene, but lost CO in dichloromethane, and HCl in diethyl ether, yielding TrtP(H)Cl (3), and (TrtPCO)2 (4 b), respectively. TrtP(H)Cl (3) was found to be a halophosphine of amazing stability. Treatment of 3 with excess phosgene led to partial substitution of the P-bonded proton for C(:O)Cl with formation of 5, which did not eliminate CO to give TrtPCl2. Substitution of chlorine in TrtP(H)Cl (3) for fluorine or bromine furnished the halophosphines, 6 and 7. Minute quantities of the diphosphene 8 were formed upon treatment of 3 with NEt3 or DBU. The course of the reaction between the secondary phosphines Trt(R)PH and phosgene depends on the group R. If R was t-Bu, formation of a mixture of Trt(t-Bu)PCl (10), and t-BuPCl2 (resulting from partial cleavage of the P–C-bond) was observed. Although in the case of R = Ph, the intermediate 12 could be isolated, at elevated temperature HCl was eliminated from 12, giving Trt(Ph)PCl (13). The diphosphine (TrtPH)2 (14) is inert towards HCl-free phosgene. In the presence of HCl the P–P-bond in 14 was cleaved, and upon chlorination of the resulting TrtPH2 (1) by phosgene, TrtP(H)Cl (3) was obtained as the only phosphorus-containing product. Reaktionen von Triphenylmethyl-substituierten Primaren und Sekundaren Phosphinen mit Phosgen Der Reaktionsverlauf der Umsetzung von TrtPH2 (1) mit Phosgen zeigte sich erheblich vom verwendeten Losungsmittel gepragt. Das primare Reaktionsprodukt TrtP(H)C(:O)Cl (2) wurde bei der entsprechenden Umsetzung in Toluol als masig stabile Verbindung erhalten. In Dichlormethan wandelte sich dieses Intermediat unter Decarbonylierung zu TrtP(H)Cl (3), in Diethylether unter Abspaltung von Chlorwasserstoff zu (TrtPCO)2 (4 b) um. 3 reagierte mit uberschussigem Phosgen zu TrtP(Cl)C(:O)Cl (5), wobei eine unter CO-Eliminierung verlaufende Zersetzung von 5 in TrtPCl2 nicht beobachtet wurde. Nach Standardmethode gelang aus 3 die Darstellung von TrtP(H)F (6) und die NMR-spektroskopische Charakterisierung von TrtP(H)Br (7). Der Einsatz von organischen Basen zur HCl-Eliminierung fuhrte bei 3 nur in Spuren zu TrtP=PTrt (8). Die Umsetzung von Trt(R)PH mit Phosgen resultierte bei R = Ph in der Bildung von Trt(Ph)PC(:O)Cl (12), bei R = t-Bu in einem Produktgemisch, bestehend aus Trt(t-Bu)PCl (10) und t-BuPCl2. 12 war bei Raumtemperatur stabil und setzte sich erst bei 60 °C zum erwarteten Chlorphosphin Trt(Ph)PCl (13) um. Gegenuber HCl-freiem Phosgen waren die PH-Bindungen in (TrtPH)2 (14) inert. Bei Anwesenheit von katalytischen HCl-Mengen fuhrte diese Umsetzung dagegen unter Spaltung der PP-Bindung zur Bildung von 3 als einzigem phosphorhaltigen Produkt.

The reactions o f ter/-butylcalix[4]arene (1) and the phosphorus-substituted rm -butylcalix- [4]arene (2), respectively, with terf-butylbis[N-(N',N',N",N"-tetramethyl)guanidinyl]phosphine (3) led to the first calix[4]arene-anions with the protonated phosphonium cations 4 and 5. No protonation o f the imino nitrogen atom was observed. In the case of compound 4, a singlecrystal X-ray structure analysis has been conducted. In compound 5, phosphorus atoms in the oxidation states +III and +V are present in one molecule

Unlike C-undecylcalix[4]resorcinarene, C-methylcalix[4]resorcinarene 1 reacted with chlorodifluorophosphine in the absence of an auxiliary base to give the unstable octakis(difluorophosphite)-substituted derivative 2. The existence of two conformational isomers of 2 in solution was observed by 19F and 31P NMR spectroscopy. Attempts to react the octakis(trimethylsilyl)calix[4]resorcinarene 3 and its tetrabromo derivative 4 with phosphorus trichloride and chlorodifluorophosphine were unsuccessful. The ethoxy-tethered C-methyl-octakis(trimeth-ylsilyl)calix[4]resorcinarene 5 was allowed to react with 2-chloro-1,3,5-trimethyl-1,3,5-triaza-2σ3λ3-phosphorin-4,6-dione and chlorodifluorophosphine. By substitution of all trimethylsilyl groups, the octakis(phosphorus(III))-substituted compounds 6 and 7 were formed. In den oxidativen Additionsreaktionen von Sulfurylfluorid 1 und Methansulfonsaurefluorid 2 mit η2-Ethylen-bis(triphenylphosphin)platin(0) wurden der neuartige ionische zweikernige Tetrakis(triphenylphosphin)-(μ-fluoro)-(μ-peroxo)-platin(II)-fluorsulfonat- (3 a) bzw, der Methylsulfonat-Komplex (3 b) gebildet. O,O-Sulfito-mangan(II)-tricarbonyl (5 a) und der zweikernige μ-Disulfito-dimangandecacarbonyl-Komplex 6 a wurden bei der Reaktion von Disulfuryldifluorid (4) mit dem Carbonylmetallat-Komplex Na+[Mn(CO)5] erhalten. In dieser Redoxreaktion wurden weitere Produkte (z.B. CO, SO2F2 (1) und Mn2(CO)10) gebildet und quantitativ bestimmt. In Anwesenheit von Acetonitril wurde der Acetonitril-O,O-sulfito-mangan(II)-tricarbonyl-Komplex 5 b isoliert. Die neuen zweikernigen Komplexe Bis(η5-cyclopentadienyl)-μ-disulfito-dimetallhexacarbonyl (6 b: Metall = Mo0 und 6 c: Metall = W0) wurden bei der Umsetzung von 4 mit den Carbonylmetallaten Na+[CpM(CO)3]− (M Mo, W; Cp = Cyclopentadienyl) erhalten. Dabei wurden weitere Produkte, wie CO, SO2F2 (1) und [CpM(CO)3]2 (MMo1, W1) gebildet und ihre Mengen quantitativ bestimmt. Die Gultigkeit des Konzeptes der harten und weichen Sauren und Basen (HSAB-Konzept) und der 18-Valenzelektronenregel (18 VE-Regel) konnten nicht in allen Fallen bestatigt werden. Die Charakterisierung von 3 a, 3 b, 5 b, 6 b und 6 c beruht auf den IR- und NMR-Spektren. 5 b wurde zudem massenspektrometrisch untersucht. Das dynamische Verhalten von 3 a und 3 b in CD2Cl2 und CD3OD bei Raumtemperatur wurde mittels 31P-NMR-Spektroskopie verfolgt. Die Ergebnisse wurden im Sinne von in Losung ablaufenden Austauschprozessen zwischen dem koordinierten μ-Fluorid (Bruckenligand) und dem Losungs-mittel-Liganden bzw, dem unkoordinierten Anion interpretiert. 5 a und 6 a sowie die Nebenprodukte CO und SO2F2 (1), die in Redoxreaktionen gebildet wurden, wurden uber ihre IR-Spektren identifiziert. Reactions of some Sulfur-Fluorine Compounds with Compounds of Transition Metals; Synthesis and Spectroscopic Investigation of Sulfito Complexes, involving MnII, Mo0, and W0 In the oxidative addition reactions of sulfuryl fluoride (1) and of methanesulphonic acid fluoride (2) with η2-ethylene-bis(triphenylphosphine)platinum(0) the novel ionic binuclear tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)-(μ-fluoro)-(μ-peroxo)-platinum(II)-fluorosulfonate and -methylsulfonate complexes 3 a and 3 b were formed. O,O-Sulfito-manganese(II) tricarbonyl 5 a and the binuclear μ-disulfito-dimanganese decacarbonyl complex 6 a were obtained in the reaction of disulfuryl difluoride (4) with the carbonyl metalate complex, Na+[Mn(CO)5]−. In this redox reaction several further products (e.g., CO, SO2F2 (1) and Mn2(CO)10) were formed and were determined quantitatively. In the presence of acetonitrile the acetonitrile-O,O-sulfito-manganese(II) tricarbonyl complex 5 b was isolated. The new binuclear complexes, bis(η5-cyclopentadienyl)-μ-disulfito-dimetalhexacarbonyls (6 b: metal = Mo0 and 6 c: metal = W0) were obtained in the reaction of 4 with the carbonyl metalates Na+[CpM(CO)3]− (MMo1, W1; Cp = cyclopentadienyl). Further products (e.g., CO, SO2F2 (1) and [CpM(CO)3]2, MMo, W) were formed and were determined quantitatively. The validity of the concept of hard and soft acids and bases (HSAB-concept) and of the 18-valence-electron rule (18-VE-rule) could not be confirmed in all cases. The characterization of 3a, 3b, Sb, 6b and 6c was based on their IR and NMR spectra, and in one case, on the mass spectra (5b). For 3a and 3b the dynamic behaviour at room temperature in CD2Cl2 and CD3OD was studied by 31P-NMR spectroscopy. The results are interpreted in terms of exchange processes in solution between the coordinated μ-fluoride and the solvent ligand or the uncoordinated anion. 5a and 6a and the by-products (e.g., CO and SO2F2 (l)), which were formed in the redox reactions, were identified by their infrared spectra.

The addition of dimethylphosphine oxide and its trimethylsiloxyphosphorus(III) derivative, generated in situ, to 3-thiazolines was found to yield dimethyl 4-thiazolidinylphosphine oxides via three different synthetic routes. The structures of two products were confirmed by X-ray analysis; common features include approximate envelope conformations of the five-membered rings and hydrogen bonding of the form N–H· · ·O=P. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Triisopropylphosphine reacts with 2-cyanoacrylates with formation of the P-zwitterionic species 2a and 2b. The reaction of 2b with trimethylsilyltriflate, in the presence of traces of water, leads to the phosphonium triflate 3. 2b is alkylated at the carbon atom with methyl iodide with formation of the phosphonium iodide 4. The initially formed adducts of the zwitterionic species 2a and 2b with tosyl azide and with tosyl isocyanate are thermodynamically unstable. In the first case, the final products of the reaction are tosyl iminotriisopropylphosphine imide 6 and 2-cyanoacrylate polymers. In the second case, the reaction leads to the zwitterionic product 8, and, in the presence of traces of water, to the molecular complexes 9a and 9b. The reaction of the zwitterionic species 2a and 2b with methylisocyanate proceeds in an unusual way, resulting in the formation of the zwitterionic species 12a and 12b, as a result of the insertion of methylisocyanate into the C[sbnd]C bond of the starting zwitteri...

Chloro-dimethylamino-phenyl-p-tolylthio-phosphonium chloride 2, dimethylamino-diphenyl-p-tolylthio-phosphonium chloride 3, bis(diethylamino)-dimethylamino-p-tolylthiophosphonium chloride 4 and tert-butyl-dimethylamino-phenyl-p-tolylthio-phosphonium chloride 5 were prepared by the reaction of N,N-dimethylamino-p-tolylsulfenamide 1 with PhPCl2, Ph2PCl, (Et2N)2PCl and tBu(Ph)PCl, respectively. The reaction of N,N′-dimethyl-N,N′-bis(trimethylsilyl)urea 9 and N-methyl-N′-phenyl-N,N′-bis(trimethylsilyl)urea 10 with phenylsulfenyl chloride 6 or p-nitrophenylsulfenyl chloride 8 furnished the N-arylthio-N,N′-diorgano-N′-(trimethylsilyl)-ureas 11 – 14. The reaction of 11 – 14 and of the previously known compounds 15 and 16 with MePCl2, ClCH2PCl2, tBuPCl2 and PhPCl2 resulted in the formation of the 2-arylthio-2-chloro-1,2,3-triorgano-1,3,2λ5-diazaphosphetidin-4-ones 17 – 26. 1,3-Dimethyl-2-(1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoro-2-propoxy)-2-phenyl-2-phenylthio-1,3,2λ5-diazaphosphetidin-4-one 29 and the 2-arylthio-1,3-dimethyl-2-(p-nitrophenoxy)-2-organyl-1,3,2λ5-diazaphosphetidin-4-ones 30 – 32 were obtained in the reactions of compounds 17, 24 and 27 with 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoro-2-propanol or p-nitrophenol in the presence of triethylamine. The reaction of compound 21 with thiophenol in the presence of triethylamine resulted in a mixture of products, from which 1,3,4,5,7-pentamethyl-1,3,5,7-tetraaza-4λ5-phosphaspiro[3.3]heptan-2,6-dione 33 was isolated. The identity and structure of all the new compounds were established by 1H-, 13C- and 31P-NMR spectroscopy and by elemental analysis. A possible mechanism of reaction of sulfenamides with compounds of trivalent phosphorus is discussed. For the compounds 5a, 32 and 33 X-ray structure analyses were conducted. The cation of compound 5a involves four-coordinate phosphorus (essentially tetrahedral geometry) and is a rare example of a P–S single bond in such a system (P–S 207.37(9) pm). In 32 the geometry at phosphorus is distorted trigonal bipyramidal, with axial positions occupied by oxygen and nitrogen atoms. In the spirophosphorane 33 the geometry at phosphorus is intermediate between trigonal bipyramidal and square pyramidal, with essentially planar four-membered rings. Reaktionen von Sulfenamiden mit Verbindungen des dreiwertigen Phosphors Chlor-dimethylamino-phenyl-p-tolylthio-phosphoniumchlorid 2, Dimethylamino-diphenyl-p-tolylthio-phosphoniumchlorid 3, Bis(diethylamino)-dimethylamino-p-tolylthiophosphoniumchlorid 4 und tert-Butyl-dimethylaminophenyl-p-tolylthiophosphonium-chlorid 5 wurden durch Umsetzung von N,N-Dimethylamino-p-tolylsulfenamid 1 mit PhPCl2, Ph2PCl, (Et2N)2PCl und tBu(Ph)PCl erhalten. Die Reaktion von N,N′-Dimethyl-N,N′-bis(trimethylsilyl)harnstoff 9 und N-Methyl-N′-phenyl-N,N′-bis(trimethylsilyl)harnstoff 10 mit Phenylsulfenylchlorid 6 oder p-Nitrophenylsulfenyl-chlorid 8 ergab die N-Arylthio-N,N′-diorgano-N′-(trimethylsilyl)harnstoffe 11 – 14. Die Umsetzung von 11 – 14 und der bereits bekannten Verbindungen 15 und 16 mit MePCl2, ClCH2PCl2, tBuPCl2 und PhPCl2 fuhrte zur Bildung der 2-(Arylthio)-2-chlor-1,2,3-triorgano-1,3,2λ5-diazaphosphetidin-4-one17 – 26. 1,3-Dimethyl-2-(1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluor-2-propoxy)-2-phenyl-2-phenylthio-1,3,2λ5-diazaphosphetidin-4-on 29 und die 2-Arylthio-1,3-dimethyl-2-(p-nitrophenoxy)-2-organyl-1,3,2λ5-diazaphosphetidin-4-one 30 – 32 wurden durch Umsetzung der Verbindungen 17, 24 und 27 mit 1,1,1,3,3,3-Hexafluor-2-propanol oder p-Nitrophenol in Anwesenheit von Triethylamin dargestellt. Die Reaktion von 21 mit Thiophenol in Anwesenheit von Triethylamin ergab ein Produktgemisch, aus dem das Spirophosphoran 1,3,4,5,7-Pentamethyl-1,3,5,7-tetraaza-4λ5-phosphaspiro[3.3]heptan-2,6-dion 33 isoliert werden konnte. Identitat und Struktur aller neuen Verbindungen wurden durch 1H-, 13C- and 31P-NMR-Spektroskopie und durch Elementaranalyse nachgewiesen. Ein moglicher Mechanismus fur die Reaktion von Sulfenamiden mit Verbindungen des dreiwertigen Phosphors wird diskutiert. Fur die Verbindungen 5a, 32 und 33 wurden Einkristall-Rontgenstrukturanalysen durchgefuhrt. Das Kation der Verbindung 5a enthalt vierfach-koordinierten Phosphor (nahezu tetraedrische Geometrie) und stellt ein seltenes Beispiel einer P–S-Einfachbindung in einem solchen System dar (P–S 207,37(9) pm). In 32 ist die Geometrie am Phosphor verzerrt trigonal bipyramidal, wobei die axialen Lagen durch Sauerstoff- und Stickstoffatome besetzt sind. Im Spirophosphoran 33 liegt die Geometrie am Phosphor zwischen trigonal bipyramidal und quadratisch pyramidal, mit nahezu planaren Vierringen.

The reactions of the 1,3-dimethyl-1,3-diaza-2-P-substituted-(2-chloroethyl)- or bis(2-chloroethyl)amino-2λ 3 -phosphorinan-4-ones 1 and 4 with hexafluoroacetone in a molar ratio of 1:2 furnished the spirophosphoranes 2 and 5 . In the reaction of 1 with hexafluoroacetone, small amounts of the by-product 3 , involving λ 4 phosphorus were formed and characterized by 19 F and 31 P NMR spectroscopy. The 1,3-dimethyl-1,3-diaza-2-oxo-5,6-benzo-2λ 4 -phosphorinan-4-ones 6 and 7 were obtained from the spirophosphoranes 2 and 5 , either by reaction with water or on heating; in the latter case, the elimination of tetrakis(trifluoromethyl)oxirane is suggested as occurring. Characterization of 2 and 5–7 was on the basis of their 1 H-, 13 C-, 19 F- and 31 P-NMR spectra, and their mass spectra.

Die Umsetzung von 1-AdPH21 mit aquimolaren Mengen H2O2 · C(:O)(NH2)2, Schwefel und Selen fuhrte zu den entsprechenden primaren Phosphinoxiden, -sulfiden und -seleniden 2, 5 und 7. In ihnen liesen sich die PH-Protonen durch Einwirkung von CH3OD/TFA-Anhydrid quantitativ gegen Deuteronen austauschen, wahrend die Einwirkung dieses Agens auf 1 zu einem Gemisch aus 1-AdPH21, 1-AdPHD 1a und 1-AdPD21b fuhrte. Die Umsetzung von 1 mit aktivierten Carbonylverbindungen R1R2C(:O) lieferte im Fall von R1 = H, R2 = CCl3 oder COOH die Diadditionsprodukte 9 und 10, im Fall von R1 = Ph, R2 = CF3 das Monoadditionsprodukt 11 vom allgemeinen Typ 1-AdPH2–n[C(OH)R1R2]n mit n = 2 bei 9, 10 und n = 1 bei 11, wobei sich 11 in Losung unter Ruckbildung der Edukte zersetzte. 1-Adamantylphospholaniumtribromid 12 wurde durch Erhitzen von 1 in 1,4-Dibrombutan gebildet und in das Hexafluorphosphat 12a und das Oxid 13 umgewandelt. Die Einwirkung eines 2,5fachen Uberschusses Phosgen auf 1 lieferte 1-AdPCl215 in hoher Ausbeute. Die Reaktion von 1 mit Ph3SnCl fuhrte zur Knupfung von PSn-Bindungen, das Gemisch der Mono- und Distannylierungsprodukte 16 und 17 lies sich jedoch nicht trennen. Metallkomplexe des Typs cis-(1-AdPH2)2MCl2 (M = Pd: 18, M = Pt: 19) wurden aus 1-AdPH2 und (COD)MCl2 dargestellt (COD = 1,5-Cyclooctadien). Ebenso reagierten (NOR)Mo(CO)4 (NOR = Norbornadien) und (CHT)Mo(CO)3 (CHT = Cycloheptatrien) mit zwei bzw. drei Aquivalenten 1-AdPH21 unter Bildung der erwarteten Komplexe cis-L2Mo(CO)421 und fac-L3Mo(CO)322 (L = 1). Der Phosphidokomplex Cp(CO)2Mo(μ-1-AdPH)(μ-H)Mo(CO)2Cp 23 (Cp = Cyclopentadienyl) wurde durch Umsetzung von 1 mit [CpMo(CO)3]2 in siedendem Methylcyclohexan erhalten. The Reactions of Primary Phosphines Involving Sterically Demanding Substituents: The Case of 1-Adamantylphosphine The reaction of 1-AdPH21 with equimolar amounts of H2O2 · C(:O)(NH2)2, sulfur and selenium furnished the corresponding primary phosphine oxides, sulfides and selenides, 2, 5 and 7. In these compounds the PH-protons may be exchanged quantitatively for deuterons by the action of CH3OD/trifluoroacetic acid anhydride, while the reaction of 1 with the same agent gave a mixture of 1-AdPH21, 1-AdPHD 1a and 1-AdPD21b. The reaction of 1 with activated carbonyl compounds, R1R2C(:O) led to the di-adducts 9 and 10 and to the mono-adduct 11 of the general type 1-AdPH2–n[C(OH)R1R2]n [n = 2 for 9 (R1 = H, R2 = CCl3) and 10 (R1 = H, R2 = COOH); n = 1 for 11 (R1 = Ph, R2 = CF3)]. 11 decomposed in solution, giving 1-AdPH21 and trifluoroacetophenone. 1-Adamantylphospholanium tribromide 12 was synthesized by heating 1 in 1,4-dibromobutane and was converted into the corresponding hexafluorophosphate 12a and the oxide 13. The action of a 2.5-fold excess of phosgene on 1 gave 1-AdPCl215 in high yield. The reaction of 1-AdPH21 with Ph3SnCl led to the formation of PSn-bonds. An attempt at the separation of the mixture of the mono- and distannylation products, 16 and 17, was unsuccessful. Metal complexes of the type cis-(1-AdPH2)2MCl2 (M = Pd: 18, M = Pt: 19) were obtained by reaction of 1-AdPH21 with (COD)MCl2 (COD = 1,5-cyclo-octadiene). In the same way (NOR)Mo(CO)4 (NOR = norbornadiene) and (CHT)Mo(CO)3 (CHT = cycloheptatriene) reacted with two or three equivalents of 1 to give the expected co-ordination compounds, cis-L2Mo(CO)421 and fac-L3Mo(CO)322 (L = 1), respectively. The phosphido complex Cp(CO)2Mo(μ-1-AdPH)(μ-H)Mo(CO)2Cp 23 (Cp = cyclopentadienyl) was formed by refluxing a solution of 1 and [CpMo(CO)3]2 in methylcyclohexane.

The title compound was prepared from tri-n-butyl-chlorophosphonium chloride and N-tri-methylsilyl-tris(diethylamino)-phosphinimine. A low temperature X-ray crystal structure de­termination revealed PN bond lengths of 156.1(2) and 158.0(2) pm, with a PNP angle of 149.36(17)°.

A study was made of the intramolecular donor-acceptor interaction in N,N′,N′-trimethylethylenediamine- substituted phosphorus compounds, involving λ3-, λ4- and λ5-phosphorus atoms, as a function of the nature of the substituents at phosphorus. The reaction of N-trimethylsilyl-N,N′,N′-trimethylethylenediamine (1) with (PriO)2PCl furnished the acyclic, trimethylethylenediamine-substituted phosphorus(III) compound 4. There is no NMR spectroscopic evidence for an intramolecular donor-acceptor interaction between the phosphorus atom and the nitrogen atom of the dimethylamino group in 4. The oxidation of the trivalent phosphorus atom in 4 and in the related compound 5 by sulfur, selenium, tetrachloroo- benzoquinone, and hexafluoroacetone led to the corresponding λ4P compounds 6 - 9 and to the λ5P compounds 10 and 11. No intramolecular donor-acceptor interaction could be detected in any of these products. There was no reaction between 5 and elemental tellurium. The reaction products were characterized by NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and by elemental analysis.

In the reaction of bis(trimethylsilyl)carbodiimide ( 1 ) with excess PF 2 Cl only the monosubstituted carbodiimide 2a was obtained. The carbodiimide structure is suggested by 15 N and 29 Si NMR spectra. Two equivalents of 2a were found to react with (COD)PtCl 2 ( 3 ) (COD = 1,5-cyclooctadiene) with the displacement of COD and the formation of 4 , which underwent rapid loss of trimethylchlorosilane forming the trimer 5 and the polymer 6 , which was an insulator. When 6 was doped with SbF 5 , TTF (tetrathiafulvalene), [(C 4 H 9 ) 4 N] + [BF 4 ] − , [NO] + [BF 4 ] − or [(C 4 H 9 ) 4 N] + [PF 6 ] − , its electrical conductivity increased by about 13 orders of magnitude.

The reaction of λ5Ρ – λ3Ρ diphosphorus compounds with o-quinones, e.g. tetrachloro-o-benzoquinone or 2,5-di-tert-butyl-o-benzoquinone, led not only to oxidative addition of the o-quinone to λ3Ρ but also to insertion of a further molecule of o-quinone into the P–P bond (i.e. λ5Ρ – λ3Ρ diphosphorus compound and o-quinone reacted in a molar ratio 1:2). In the course of these oxidative addition and insertion reactions the o-quinones were converted into the corresponding hydroquinones (i.e. catechols). The products of these reactions were characterized by NMR and mass spectrometric methods, and by elemental analysis. The hydrolysis of the 1:2 addition products proceeded with cleavage of a P–O–C (hydroquinone) bond and formation of mononuclear products, involving λ4Ρ and λ5Ρ, respectively. A mechanism of this hydrolysis is proposed and has been elucidated by independent synthesis of some products. Diphosphines, i.e. symmetrical λ3Ρ – λ3Ρ diphosphorus compounds, were found to react with o-quinones in the same fashion in a molar ratio 1:3, i.e. with oxidative addition of the o-quinone to both λ3P atoms and insertion of tetrachloro-o-catechol into the P–P bond.

The crystal structure of the title compound, CH2F4O2P2, is characterized by an extensive net of C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

The diphosphorus compounds R1R2PPR1R2 (R1 = R2 = Me or Et; R1 = Me, R2 = But) and Me2P(:O)PMe2 were found to react with hexafluoroacetone (HFA) to give 1,2-λ5-oxaphosphetanes, phosphonates and phosphinates. For R1 = R2 = Et and R1 = Me, R2 = But 1,3,2,-λ5-dioxaphospholanes were obtained. For R1 = R2 = Et, in addition, a 1,3,4-λ5-dioxaphospholane was found. With tetramethyldiphosphine a thermally stable compound was formed containing a P(III)C(CF3)2OP(V) moiety which could be bound to a (OC)4Mo fragment. No reaction has been observed between HFA and But2PPBut2 and Ph2PPPh2.

Durch oxidative Addition von Hexafluoraceton an die Phosphor(III)-Verbindungen 1c–g werden die 1,3,2λ5-Dioxaphospholane 2c, 2d, 2f und 2g bzw. das 1,2λ5-Oxaphosphetan 3 gebildet; 2d lagert sich thermisch in das entsprechende 1,2λ5-Oxaphosphetan 4 um. Die Phosphole 5 und 6 entstehen aus Hexafluorbiacetyl und Phosphinigsaureestern. Mit Hilfe der 19 F-NMR-Spektroskopie wurden dynamische Effekte untersucht. Bei dem Phosphoran 2c tritt magnetische Nichtaquivalenz sowohl der CF3-Gruppen des Dioxaphospholan-Ringsystems als auch der des (CF3)2CHO-Restes auf. Die analogen Verbindungen 7–9 wurden zur vergleichenden Betrachtung herangezogen und der Einflus der raumerfullenden tert-Butylgruppe am Phosphor studiert. On 2-tert-Butyl-l,3,2λ5-dioxaphospholanes and 2-tert-Butyl-1,2λ5-oxaphosphetanes Oxidative addition of hexafluoroacetone to the phosphorus(III) compounds 1c–g furnished the 1,3,2λ5-dioxaphospholanes 2c, 2d, 2f, 2g, and the 1,2λ5-oxaphosphetane 3, respectively; 2d undergoes thermal rearrangement to the corresponding l,2λ5-oxaphosphetane 4. The phospholes 5 and 6 are formed from hexafluorobiacetyl with phosphinous acid esters. 19F NMR spectroscopy was employed to investigate dynamic effects in the compounds obtained. For the phosphorane 2 c magnetic nonequivalence of the CF3 groups of the dioxaphospholane ring system as well as of those of the (CF3)2CHO group was observed. The related compounds 7–9 were studied for comparison, and the influence of the bulky tert-butyl groups at phosphorus was investigated.

Durch Umsetzung von (1-Adamantyl)tetrafluorphosphoran mit Brenzcatechin-bis(trimethylsilylether) wurde das Spirophosphoran C10H15P(O2C6H4)2 (4) erhalten. 4 kristallisiert orthorhombisch, P212121, mit a = 668.5 (1), b = 1575.8 (2), c = 1755.1 (2) pm, Z = 4,. R, = 0.058. Es wird C2v–verzerrte rechteckig-pyramidale Koordination am Phosphor gefunden. Preparation and X-Ray Structural Analysis of an Adamantyl-spirophosphorane, C10HI5P(O2C6H4) Reaction of (1-adamantyl)tetrafluorophosphorane with catechol bis(trimethylsilyl ether) yielded the spirophosphorane C10H15P(O2C6H4)2 (4). Crystals of 4 are orthorhombic. P212121, with a = 668.5 (1), b = 1575.8 (2), c = 1755.1 (2) pm, Z = 4, R = 0.058. C2v,-distorted rectangular pyramidal coordination is observed at phosphorus.

Durch Chlor-Fluor-Austausch in den Bis(phosphonsauredichloriden) Cl2P (O)XP(O) Cl2 (1a–c) mit AsF3 werden die Bis(phosphonsauredifluoride) F2P (O)XP(O)F2 (2a–c) dargestellt. Deren Umsetzung mit SF4 liefert die Bis(tetrafluorphosphorane) F4PXPF4 (3a–c) (X = CH2, CH2 CH2, trans-CH = CH). Fur die Verbindung 3a (X = CH2) werden weitere Darstellungsmethoden angegeben, die sich auf die Spaltung der SiC-Bindung mit PF5 in den SiC-Verbindungen [Me2SiCH2]2 bzw. Me3 SiCH2PF4 grunden. Die NMR-Spektren der Verbindungen 2 und 3 werden diskutiert. Synthesis and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopic Studies of Alkylene/Alkylidenebis(phosphonic Dihalides) and- bis(fluorophosphoranes) Chlorine-fluorine exchange in the bis(phosphonic dichlorides) Cl2P(O) - X- P(O)Cl2 (1a–c) with AsF3 furnisches the bis(phosphonic difluorides) F2P(O)XP(O)F2 (2a–c). Reaction of 2a–c with SF4 leads to bis(tetrafluorophosphoranes) F4PXPF4 (3a–c) (X = CH2, CH2CH2, trans-CHCH). Additional methods of synthesis are indicated for compound 3a (X = CH2) which are based on the cleavage of the SiC bond with PF5 in the Si-C bonded precursors [Me2SiCh2]2 and Me3SiCH2PF4. The NMR spectra of compounds 2 and 3 are discussed.

Hexafluoraceton und Hexafluorbiacetyl reagieren mit Fluorphosphinen und Fluorphosphiten unter Bildung stabiler cyclischer Oxyphosphorane mit dem 1,3,2-Dioxaphospholan- (2) bzw. Dioxaphospholen-Ringsystem (3). 19F- und 31P-NMR-Spektren werden mitgeteilt. Die Temperaturabhangigkeit der 19F-NMR-Spektren im Bereich von −90 bis +110°C wird auf der Basis von Pseudorotationsprozessen am Phosphor(V) diskutiert. Oxidative Addition of Hexafluoroacetone and Hexafluorobiacetyl to Phosphorus(III) Fluorides RR′PF: Synthesis of Chiral 1,3,2-Dioxaphospholanes and 1,3,2-Dioxaphospholenes Hexafluoroacetone and hexafluorobiacetyl react with fluorophosphines and fluorophosphites in an oxidative addition to form stable cyclic oxyphosphoranes containing the 1,3,2-dioxaphospholane (2) or 1,3,2-dioxaphospholene ring system (3). 19F and 31P NMR spectra are reported. The temperature dependency of the 19F NMR spectra in the range between −90 and +110°C is discussed in the light of pseudorotation processes at phosphorus(V).

Durch oxidative Addition von HF, Cl2 und (CF3)2CO and die Titelverbindung 6 entstehen die Phosphorane 2, 9 und 3; mit NH4[OC(CF3)2C(CF3)2OH] (4) wird unter Abspaltung von NH3 und oxidativer Addition das Hydrophosphoran 1 erhalten. Durch Substitution von Chlor lassen sich aus 9 die Aminoalkoxyphosphorane 5 und 8 synthetisieren, wahrend die Thermolyse unter HCl-Abspaltung zu dem auserst bestandigen Phosphazen 10 fuhrt. Verbindung 3 zeigt im 19F-NMR-Spektrum wegen eingeschrankter dynamischer Prozesse acht magnetisch nicht aquivalente CF3-Gruppen. Durch 19F-Homoentkopplungsexperimente werden weitreichende Raumkopplungen nachgewiesen. Die Rontgenstrukturanalyse von 3 ergibt eine annahernd trigonal-bipyramidale Koordination des Phosphors, F2PNH2 und tBu2PNH2, zur vergleichenden Betrachtung herangezogen, reagieren mit Hexafluoraceton unter Bildung von (CF3)2CNH sowie des Amino-fluorphosphorans 11 und des Phosphorsaureesters F2P(O)OCH(CF3)2 (13) bzw. von tBu2P(O)H (12) und tBu2P(O)OCH(CF3)2 (14). Oxidative Additions to 2-Amino-4,4,5,5-tetrakis(trifluoromethyl)-1,3,2-dioxaphospholane Oxidative addition of HF, Cl2 and (CF3)2CO to the title compound 6 furnishes the phosphoranes 2, 9, and 3, respectively. In the case of NH4[OC(CF3)C(CF3)2OH] (4) the hydrospirophosphorane 1 is obtained via a substitution reaction followed by an oxidative addition. Compound 9 is a precursor for the aminotetraalkoxyphosphoranes 5, 8, and the very stable phosphazene 10 which is formed by loss of HCl by thermolysis. Due to a slow ligand exchange the 19F NMR spectrum of phosphorane 3 exhibits eight magnetically non equivalent CF3 groups. By means of 19F homodecoupling experiments extensive through space coupling is found in the molecule. The x-ray structure analysis of 3 shows a slight distortion from the trigonal bipyramidal geometry at phosphorus. For comparison, F2PNH2 and tBu2PNH2 react with (CF3)2 to form (CF3)2CNH, the aminofluorophosphorane 11, F2P(O)OCH(CF3)2 (13) bzw. von tBu2P(o) (12) and tBu2P(O)OCH(CF3)2 (14), respectively.

The oxidation—reduction reaction between a zwitterionic diphosphorus compound, involving the grouping ClP(−)P(+)NEt2 with the platinum(0) complex, (C2H4)Pt(PPh3)2, has furnished a novel platinum(II) complex with a PP four-membered ring as the central feature. The identity and structure of this platinum complex has been established by NMR spectroscopy and by a single-crystal X-ray structure determination.

Durch Umsetzung von Dimethylphosphinoxid mit (Dimethylamino)trimethylsilan ist der Dimethylphosphinigsaure-trimethylsilylester (1) in guten Ausbeuten zuganglich, aus dem bei erhohter Temperatur unter Abspaltung von Hexamethyldisiloxan Tetramethyldiphosphanmonoxid (2) gebildet wird. Reaktionen von 1 mit Schwefel (zu 3) und Trimethylsilylazid (zu 4) sowie die Darstellung der Ubergangsmetallcarbonyl-Komplexe 5 und 6 werden beschrieben. Die oxidative Addition von Hexafluoraceton an 1 fuhrt zu dem Me3SiO-funktionellen 1,3,2λ5-Dioxaphospholan 7, von dem ausgehend die Derivate 8–13 des hypothetischen 1,3,2λ5-Dioxaphospholan-2-ols 7a erhalten werden. Versuche zur Darstellung von 7a fuhrten zu dem isomeren, acyclischen Dimethylphosphinsaureester 14, der im Festkorperzustand als wasserstoffverbrucktes Dimeres vorliegt. Preparation and Reactions of Trimethylsilyl Dimethylphosphinite, Me2POSiMe3 Reaction of dimethylphosphine oxide with (dimethylamino)trimethylsilane furnishes the trimethylsilyl ester 1 of dimethylphosphinous acid in good yields; at elevated temperature tetramethyldiphosphane monoxide (2) is formed from 1 with loss of hexamethyldisiloxane. Reactions of 1 with sulfur (to give 3) and trimethylsilyl azide (to give 4), as well as the preparation of the transition metal complexes 5 and 6 are described. Oxidative addition of hexafluoroacetone to 1 gives the Me3SiO-functional 1,3,2λ5-dioxaphospholane 7, which serves as a precursor for the synthesis of compounds 8–13 which may be considered as derivatives of the hypothetical 1,3,2λ5-dioxaphospholan-2-ol 7a. Attempts at the synthesis of this compound led to the isomeric, acyclic ester of dimethylphosphinic acid 14 which was found to exist as a hydrogen-bridged dimer in the solid state.

Trisdimethylaminophosphin reagiert mit Trimethylsilylazid unter Stickstoffentwicklung und Bildung von N-Trimethylsilyl-iminophosphorsaurehexamethyltriamid, (Me2N)3PNSiMe3. Unter Eliminierung von Dimethylamino-trimethylsilan bildet sich daneben das Diphosphazen (Me2N)3PNP(NMe2)2NSiMe3. Die Umsetzung von Trimethylphosphit mit Trimethylsilylazid liefert neben dem erwarteten N-Trimethylsilyl-iminophosphorsauretrimethylester, (MeO)3PNSiMe3, den isomeren N-Trimethylsilyl-N-methyl-aminophosphorsauredimethylester, (MeO)2P(O)N(Me)SiMe3. Side Reactions upon Interaction of Trimethylsilyl Azide with Trimethylphosphite and Trisdimethylaminophosphine Trisdimethylaminophosphine reacts with trimethylsilyl azide with evolution of nitrogen and formation of N-trimethylsilyl-iminophosphoric acid hexamethyltriamide, (Me2N)3 · P NSiMe3. The diphosphazene (Me2N)3P NP(NMe2)2 NSiMe3 is formed in a side reaction with concomitant elimination of dimethylamino trimethylsilane. The reaction of trimethylsilyl azide with trimethylphosphite affords, besides the expected N-trimethylsilyliminophosphorus trimethylester, (MeO)3P NSiMe3, the isomeric N-trimethylsilyl-N-methyl-aminophosphoric dimethylester, (MeO2)P(O)N(Me)SiMe3.

N-Trimethylsilylphosphinimine (CH3)3SiNPR′3 reagieren mit Fluorphosphoranen R2PF3 und RPF4 unter Abspaltung von Trimethylfluorsilan und Bildung von Phosphiniminophosphoniumkationen des Typs [RnP(NPR′3)4–n]+ (n = 1, 2; R = Fluor, Methyl, Phenyl; R′ = Methyl, Phenyl, Isopropyl) neben stabilen Fluorphosphatanionen der allgemeinen Formel [RnPF6–n]− (n = 1, 2; R = F, Methyl, Phenyl). Durch Umsetzung von N-Trimethylsilylphosphiniminen mit Dimethyltrifluorphosphoran wurde das bisher unbekannte Dimethyltetrafluorphosphatanion [(CH3)2PF4]− neben den resonanzstabilisierten Phosphoniumkationen [(CH3)2P(NPR′3)2]+ erhalten. Die Strukturen der Reaktionsprodukte werden auf Grund der 1H, 19F und 31P NMR-Spektren diskutiert. N-trimethylsilylphosphinimines, (CH3)3SiNPR′3, react with fluorophosphoranes, R2PF3 and RPF4, to give trimethylfluorosilane and phosphiniminophosphonium cations of the type [RnP(NPR′3)4–n]+ (n = 1, 2; R = F; methyl, phenyl; R′ = methyl, phenyl, isopropyl) and stable fluorophosphate anions of the general formula [RnPF6–n]− (n = 1, 2; R = F, methyl, phenyl). In the reaction of N-trimethylsilylphosphinimines with dimethyltrifluorophosphorane the hitherto unknown dimethyltetrafluorophosphate anion, [(CH3)2PF4]−, is formed, along with the resonance-stabilized cations of type [(CH3)2P(NPR′3)2]+. The structures of the reaction products are discussed on the basis of their 1H, 19F, and 31P N.m.r.-spectra.

The reaction of phosphorus pentafluoride and its organic derivatives, RnPF5–n(n= 1,2) with NN′-disubstituted aminotrimethylsilanes. R2N·SiMe3, provides a facile method of synthesis of fluorophosphoranes of types R2NPF4, (R2N)2PF3, RPF3NR′2, and R2PF2NR′2. When PF5 and RPF4 are allowed to react with N-substituted hexamethyldisilazanes, RN(SiMe3)2, the cyclic fluorophosphoranes, [RNPF3]2 and [R′NPF2R]2, are formed. Diphenyltri-fluorophosphorane with MeN(SiMe3)2 gives only a monomeric fluorophosphine imide, MeNPFPh2. All the compounds reported are of stereochemical interest, as derivatives of phosphorus pentafluoride. Their 1H, 19F, and 31P n.m.r. spectra are presented and discussed.

Durch Einwirkung von PFS auf das Silylphosphin (II) wird durch Aufspaltung der Si-N-Bindung das Phosphin (I) erhalten und NMR-spektroskopisch identifiziert.
