У оквиру рада детаљно су анализирани односи између Србије и Русије за време друге владавине кнеза Михаила (1860–1868). Период који је обрађен представља заокружену целину, са неопходним освртом на период прве владавине кнеза Михаила (1839–1842), Обреновиће у емиграцији и њихов повратак на престо, те положај Србије и Русије у контексту промена након Париског мировног уговора (1856). Детаљно су анализирани сложени унутрашњи и спољнополитички положај Кнежевине Србије, у контексту руско–српских односа. Истовремено, пажња је усмерена на то да се руско–српски односи и везе сагледају у оквиру широке позадине европске политичке сцене. Истраживање је у основи базирано на изворној грађи архива Руске федерације (Архив внешней политики Российской империи (АВПРИ), Государственний архив Российской федерации (ГАРФ), Российский государственний военно-исторический архив (РГВИА), Научно–исследовательский отдел рукописей Российской государственной библиотеке (НИОР РГБ), Отдел письменных источников Государственного Исторического музея (ОПИ ГИМ), до сада необјављеним или пак, слабо истраженим. Користећи грађу руске и домаће провенијенције, објављене изворе, штампу, те страну и домаћу литературу, настојали смо да одговоримо на бројна, мало расветљена питања у историографији: руску дипломатску подршку Србији у кључним питањима, руску подршку кнезу Михаилу на унутрашњем плану у Србији, личне односе водећих српских и руских државника и политичара, укљученост и улогу Русије у стварању Балканског савеза, улогу Русије у планирању рата на Балкану, улогу руских официра у питању реорганизације српске војске. In this paper were detailed analyzed relations between Serbia and Russia during the second rule of Prince Michael (1860–1868). Processed period was completely covered, with the necessary references to the period of the first rule of Prince Michael (1839–1842), Obrenovićs in exile and their return to the throne, and the position of Serbia and Russia in the context of changes after the Paris Peace Treaty (1856). Complex internal and foreign policy position of the Principality of Serbia, in the context of Russian–Serbian relations were detailed analyzed. At the same time, attention was directed to the fact that the Russian–Serbian relations and connections perceived in the broad background of the European political scene. The research is essentially based on original documents from the archives of Russian Federation (Archive of Foreign Policy of Russian Empire, State Archive of Russian Federation, Russian State Archive of Military History, Scientific Research Department of Manuscripts at Russian National Library, Department of Written Sources of State History Museum), so far unpublished or poorly researched. Using the sources of the Russian and local provenance, published sources, newspapers, and foreign and domestic literature, we have tried to answer to many, little clarified questions in historiography: Russian diplomatic support to Serbia on key issues, Russian support to Prince Michael at the internal level in Serbia, personal relations among Serbian and Russian statesmen and politicians, and the involvement of Russia in the creation of the Balkan League, Russia’s role in the planning of the war in the Balkans, the role of Russian officers in the reorganization of the Serbian army.

The research of the existing archive sources and historical literature proved that the influence of Philip Hristic (1819 – 1905), Serbian diplomat and politician was not well known. The examination of historical personalities could make a major contribution to the knowledge of the political and diplomatic scene of the 19th century Serbia. Judging by his accomplishments in diplomacy, politics, education and finance, the life of Philip Hristic enriches the history of the Principality and latter Kingdome of Serbia. Introduction to the political biography of Philip Hristic requires from the researcher the analyses of the stand of the Serbian historiography toward his historical personality and his meaning for Serbian history. His family roots leading from the First Serbian Uprising, his companionship with the young princes from the Obrenovic dynasty and latter his wedding with the daughter of reach Greek merchant Hadzi Toma Opulos influenced his political beliefs. The dissertation sheds light on Hristic `s personal features and his life commitment to diplomacy and political engagements. His professional accomplishments were historically researched to prove the importance of his political biography. Hristic was characterized in the Serbian historiography as a week politician, unable to hold a stable first government of the prince Michael without the conflict with the political opponents. He was also accused of using family relations to gain political positions. Within his biography this dissertation will try presented these facts differently. The special attention is dedicated to the path of development of Philip Hristic from the beginning of his schooling and the start of his carrier toward examining his ideas, thoughts and planes during his long life. This period includes the dynasty change on the Serbian throne, first rule of the prince Michel Obrenovic, the return of the fortresses from Turkey to Serbia at the time when Philip Hristic was a member of the State Council. Special attention was paid to Hristic `s missions in Constantinople from 1870 to 1880 with interruptions, his missions to Vienna, Berlin and Rome. Hristic`s educational work reached his peek when he was instituted as minister of education in 1873/74. The connections of Philip Hristic with Great Britain were researched from 1863 when he was sent to a mission to England with princess Julia Obrenovic to 1883/84 when he was posted as a first Serbian extraordinary and plenipotentiary minister to Great Britain. Those connections were emphasized not only during Hristic`s stay in Great Britain, but especially during his service in Constantinople where he was posted because of his connections to Great Britain. After the Crimean war Great Britain was the most influential great power in the Ottoman Empire, especially from 1870-s to 1880-s. After Hristic`s retirement from the diplomatic service, he was posted to the position of the second Serbian Governor of the First Serbian National Bank from 1885 to 1889. U okviru rada detaljno su analizirani odnosi između Srbije i Rusije za vreme druge vladavine kneza Mihaila (1860–1868). Period koji je obrađen predstavlja zaokruženu celinu, sa neophodnim osvrtom na period prve vladavine kneza Mihaila (1839–1842), Obrenoviće u emigraciji i njihov povratak na presto, te položaj Srbije i Rusije u kontekstu promena nakon Pariskog mirovnog ugovora (1856). Detaljno su analizirani složeni unutrašnji i spoljnopolitički položaj Kneževine Srbije, u kontekstu rusko–srpskih odnosa. Istovremeno, pažnja je usmerena na to da se rusko–srpski odnosi i veze sagledaju u okviru široke pozadine evropske političke scene. Istraživanje je u osnovi bazirano na izvornoj građi arhiva Ruske federacije (Arhiv vnešneй politiki Rossiйskoй imperii (AVPRI), Gosudarstvenniй arhiv Rossiйskoй federacii (GARF), Rossiйskiй gosudarstvenniй voenno-istoričeskiй arhiv (RGVIA), Naučno–issledovatelьskiй otdel rukopiseй Rossiйskoй gosudarstvennoй biblioteke (NIOR RGB), Otdel pisьmennыh istočnikov Gosudarstvennogo Istoričeskogo muzeя (OPI GIM), do sada neobjavljenim ili pak, slabo istraženim. Koristeći građu ruske i domaće provenijencije, objavljene izvore, štampu, te stranu i domaću literaturu, nastojali smo da odgovorimo na brojna, malo rasvetljena pitanja u istoriografiji: rusku diplomatsku podršku Srbiji u ključnim pitanjima, rusku podršku knezu Mihailu na unutrašnjem planu u Srbiji, lične odnose vodećih srpskih i ruskih državnika i političara, uključenost i ulogu Rusije u stvaranju Balkanskog saveza, ulogu Rusije u planiranju rata na Balkanu, ulogu ruskih oficira u pitanju reorganizacije srpske vojske.
