O artigo explora a possibilidade de se pensar um lugar para a mística do Si-mesmo em consonância com as coordenadas que definem a forma de consciência prevalente na modernidade. Para tanto, toma-se um ideologema comum encontrado no pensamento de tl€s autores que representam o espírito da modernidade — Feuerbach, Nietzsche e Jung — e apresenta-se uma interpretação sob a perspectiva da mística do Si-mesmo. Em seguida, a posição assim estabelecida é utilizada para interpretar a dimensão mística presente em um fragmento concreto de experiência psicológica contemporânea. Consolidando a articulação entre Mística do Si-mesmo e experiência psicológica, abre-se espaço para um fecundo diálogo na zona fronteiriça envolvendo teologia, filosofia e psicologia. RESUMO O artigo propõe-se a explorar, a partir de uma posição bachelardiana, as relações entre imaginação e horror. Para tanto, examino o campo dos sonhos vividos durante o regime de terror nazista, e em especial o material onírico e a experiência vivida por Jean Cayrol no universo concentracionário, pondo à prova teses fundamentais da concepção bachelardiana acerca da imaginação criadora em sua significação antropológico-existencial. ABSTRACT The paper explores the relations between imagination and horror, from a Bachelardian perspective. The analysis draws on dreams from the times of the Nazi regime, and especially in the dream material collected by Jean Cayrol during his experience as a prisoner in the concentration camp of Mauthausen. Fundamental tenets of Bachelard’s conception about the creative imagination and its anthropological-existential meaning are thus tested.

Tomando como marco teórico a Antropologia Filosófica de Henrique C. de Lima Vaz, neste artigo enfoca-se a relação entre corporalidade e imaginação, mostrando-a como um dos elementos que permitiriam a proposição de uma forma de humanismo que explicitamente integrasse as instâncias que definem, de modo geral, a consciência ecológica contemporânea. Esta seria uma diferenciação ecológica dentro de uma posição humanista, com fundamentação antropológico-filosófica. Como noção filosófica que contribuiria para o desenvolvimento de tal diferenciação, apresenta-se a concepção de imaginação material em Gaston Bachelard. Por fim, indica-se no pensamento de C.G. Jung uma perspectiva convergente com esse mesmo objetivo.

Jung's dream of the killing of Siegfried poses a riddle: why did the unconscious choose precisely Siegfried as the hero to be murdered? Jung himself declares that he does not know. This paper attempts to decipher this riddle using three distinct methodological approaches accepted by Jung, two of them in fact grounded in his theories of dream interpretation. Besides presenting some possible answers to the riddle of Siegfried, this interpretative reflection brings to light the discrepancy of the psychological perspectives created by the heterogeneity of methods within analytical psychology.

Jung's conception of “reason”—and thus of what is “rational” and “irrational”—is decisive in its consequences to psychology, both theoretically and practically. No matter how one much one protests against the misappropriation of Jung by magical and superstitious currents in the panoply of contemporaneous ideologies, one must concede that Jung himself could be charged with being responsible for this use of his thought. In this paper, I examine briefly the meaning of “irrational” in Jung, so that the nature of the “irrationalism” stemming from his position can be contrasted with the “irrationalism” of the common magical appropriations of his thought.

In this article, the relations of the ethical and religious dimensions present in Jung's thought are examined. Through a delimited approach of key passages in his texts, this article shows that for Jung, due to its double characterization of Self as God-image and as conscience, there is a deep unity of both dimensions. After establishing this point only through reference to Jung's text, the author briefly discusses the problem of a possible legitimacy of religious experience to a truly modern consciousness, so that Jung's perspective may be seen in its relation to modern truth.

RESUMO: Neste artigo é examinada a questão da experiência religiosa no contexto da modernidade, considerada estruturalmente ateia em consequência da virada antropocêntrica que constitui a forma moderna de consciência. O objetivo fundamental do autor é mostrar uma possibilidade de se pensar a experiência religiosa autêntica para tal consciência moderna a partir de uma consideração compreensiva da espiritualidade ateia e de suas relações com a espiritualidade religiosa tradicional. Para isto ele considera a experiência religiosa na forma da experiência mística, apresentando-a em seus traços fundamentais, ressaltando as duas principais formas de mística imanentista. Em seguida explicita a dimensão mística presente no interior da tradição ateísta, indicando brevemente seus pressupostos ontológicos. A partir deste diálogo com a mística ateia o autor sustenta ser possível um horizonte ampliado para se pensar hoje a experiência autenticamente religiosa de forma compreensiva.ABSTRACT: This paper deals with the issue of religious experience in the context of modernity, which is envisaged as structurally atheistic due to the anthropocentric turn that defines the modern form of consciousness. The main goal of the author is to show a possibility of thinking the authentic religious experience for this modern consciousness through a comprehensive understanding of the atheistic spirituality and of its relations with traditional religious spirituality. He examines the religious experience in the particular form of mysticism, showing its essential features, and highlighting the two main forms of immanentistic mysticism. Afterwards he discloses the mystic dimension in the atheistic tradition, pointing briefly to its ontological presuppositions. This dialogue with the atheistic form of mysticism allows the author to claim that there is a possible horizon within which to think nowadays the truly religious experience in a comprehensive way.

Analisando a concepção de experiência religiosa apresentada por Rudolf Otto emDas Heilige, explicitamos a presença e a função da imaginação na mesma, mediante um aprofundamento dos pressupostos kantianos de Otto e de suas implicações teóricas. Em seguida corroboramos a função prático-existencial da imaginação religiosa tal como aparece no pensamento de Paul Ricoeur.Abstract: Our analysis of the conception of religious experience in Rudolf Otto’s Das Helige aims at explaining the presence of imagination and the role it plays in such an experience, with the intent of furthering Otto’s Kantian assumptions and their theoretical implications. Subsequently, the practical-existential role of religious imagination is corroborated by an examination of Paul Ricoeur’s thought.
