Dermatomyositis is an idiopathic inflammatory myopathy that may be associated with malignancies. The technique of 18-F fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG)-positron emission tomography (PET) is an important tool to investigate underlying malignancy in patients with a possible paraneoplastic syndrome. We report two consecutive patients with dermatomyositis in whom 18-F FDG–PET revealed unsuspected infections. Physicians should be aware that a positive 18-F FDG–PET is not specific for malignancy and may reveal other conditions including an infectious disorder. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article presents a case of a 46-year-old woman with sickle cell anaemia (SCA) who was hospitalized for dyspnea of progressive onset. It states that she suffered from bilateral leg ulcers and was treated with hydrogel and skin graft. The patient undergone bosentan therapy to treat her pulmonary hypertension which lasted for 10 months.It states that pulmonary hypertension is a complication of SCA and further infers that patients with leg ulcers also have pulmonary hypertension.
