The monitoring system uses the data from the national network equipped with M-124 filter ozonometers that is under the methodological supervision of the Main Geophysical Observatory. The quality of the functioning of the entire system is operationally controlled at CAO by the comparison with the OMI satellite equipment observations (NASA, USA). Basic TO observation data are generalized for each month of the second quarter of 2024 and for the whole second quarter. Previously unknown optically active cyclopentenones were synthesized by the ozonation of 2-dichloromethyl-5-(1-methylethylidene)-N-[(1R)-1-phenylethyl]cyclopent-3-ene-1-carboxamide in CH2Cl2–MeOH (10 : 1) at 0°C and of (3aR,6aR)-3-hydroxy-6-(1-methylethylidene)-2-[(1R)-1-phenylethyl)-3,3a,6,6a-tetrahydrocyclopenta[c]pyrrol-1(2H)-one in cyclohexane–MeOH (10 : 1) at 5°C until complete consumption of the starting compounds (by TLC), followed by treatment with Me2S. The new obtained cyclopentenons: 2-(dichloromethyl)-5-oxo-N-[(1R)-1-phenylethyl]cyclopent-3-ene-1-carboxamide and (3aR,6aR)-3-hydroxy-2-[(1R)-1-phenylethyl]-2,3,3a,6a-tetrahydrocyclopenta[c]pyrrole-1,6-dione are useful compounds to prepare cyclopentanoids. Satellite measurements provided by NASA (USA) at http://ozonewatch.gsfc.nasa.gov are used to study the variability and interdependence of polar ozone, polar temperature, and mean zonal wind. A model of winter/spring polar ozone in the Arctic and Antarctic is constructed using data on polar temperatures at 30, 70, and 100 hPa levels and mean zonal wind at 10 and 70 hPa levels in the latitude zone of 45°–75°. The article discusses the transformation of (±)-7,7-dichloro-4-(1-methylethylidene)bicyclo[3.2.0]hept-2-en-6-one in reaction with ozone. It examines the possibility of a selective cleavage of its exocylic double bond by treatment with ozonolysis of diene. It adds that the conventional treatment of the cyclohexane solution reaction mixture with argon and decomposition of ozonides has generated the formation of several compounds.
