Recent studies show that one of the major awareness in the medical field over the past decade, was that despite the recognition of the power of modern medicine to cure or ameliorate any disease, hospitals were not considered safe places to heal the patients. On the contrary, hospitals were regarded as places with potential risk of harm to patients. An important response to this awareness has been the increasing interest in patient safety, in particular in evaluating the concept of patient safety culture and the human factors relevant to patient safety.
