Abstract

The asymmetric synthesis of the C9N21 fragment of (+)-mycotrienin I is described employing chiral allylsilane bond construction methodology for the installation of the C12C13 absolute stereochemical relationships. In this convergent synthesis the construction of the C9C16 and C17N21 aromatic synthon subunits and their coupling through a lithio dithiane alkylation strategy are detailed.
