Abstract

Presents a study which investigated the ferroelectric polarization of vinylidene fluoride-trifluoroethylene copolymers using complementary measurements of the surface charge and the second harmonic intensity generated in the polymer from a Nd:YAG laser. Discussion on the optical results obtained on polarized films after removal of electrodes; Field dependence of the measured polarization; Centrosymmetric character of the paraelectric phase.
