Abstract: Polarization properties of Gaussian Schell-mode type photon beams propagating through the non-Kolmogorov turbulence in a slant channel are studied which are based on the model of quantum field and the effective photon annihilation/creation operator. Our numerical results show that the degree of polarization increases with the increasing of the transverse coherent width of source ρ s0, the source''s transverse size ω 0 and the power law of the turbulent spectrum, but the degree of polarization P decreases as the zenith angle θ increases. The effect of the wavelength of light beam on the degree of polarization of Gaussian Schell-model beams is small. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: General expressions are derived for the spectral degree of polarization of a beam generated by the superposition of two Gaussian Schell-model (GSM) beams propagating in a turbulent atmosphere by adopting the beam coherence-polarization matrix and Young''s interference theory. We analyzed the distance of two beams, atmospheric turbulence intensity, and the location of the imaging plane affect the degree of polarization by numerical calculation. In particular, when the correlation coefficients of x and y components of the electric field are the same (i.e. δ xx = δ yy ), the degree of polarization will obtain the same value. Abstract: Based on the 2×2 cross-spectral density matrix, the van Cittert–Zernike extended theorem is developed for the completely polarized incoherent beams propagation through the paraxial non-Kolmogorov turbulence. On the consequence of the extended theorem and the definition of general spectral degree of cross-polarization of a beam, we found that the spectral degree of cross-polarization of the resultant field is independent of the refractive index structure constant of atmospheric turbulence. We investigated the influences of the propagation distance and the distance of two detection points on the degree of coherence and the spectral degree of cross-polarization. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: General expressions are derived for the spectral degree of cross-polarization (SDCP) of a beam generated by the superposition of two Gaussian Schell-model (GSM) beams, which illuminated with the same Gaussian Schell-mode source propagating in non-Kolmogorov turbulent atmosphere by adopting beam cross-spectral density matrix and Young''s interference theory. In particular, through numerical examples based on our analytical formal the SDCP of two GSM beams is analyzed. Detailed analysis demonstrate that the SDCP is closely to the spacing of two beams on source plane as well as the strength of the atmospheric turbulent, but the fractal constant α has no affect on the SDCP. Abstract: Nonclassical polarization properties of a quantum field propagating through non-Kolmogorov turbulence are studied in a turbulent atmosphere paraxial channel. The analytic equation for the quantum degree of polarization of linearly polarized light is obtained. It is shown by numerical simulation that the polarization fluctuations of the quantum field are a function of the turbulent strength, the photon number, the propagation distance, the fractal constant α and the coherence length ρ 0.
