1. The Reflection of Personality of Gamers on the Example of Video Game The Sims 4

Glavni cilj rada jest utvrditi vezu između zadanih osobina ličnosti kod igrača videoigre The Sims 4 i nekih elemenata te igre, te se ujedno želi procijeniti jačina te veze. Istraživanje fokus stavlja na Big Five model i pet osobina ličnosti koje su njime zastupljene. Na početku istraživanja se postavlja pitanje o procesu refleksije određenih osobina ličnosti gamera na načine igranja igre. Online anketom, kao metodom prikupljanja podataka, dolazi se do odgovora 299 ispitanika iz 31 zemlje, čijom se kvantitativnom analizom u programu naposljetku dolazi do rezultata. Detaljnim uvidom u rezultate donosi se zaključak o postojanju statistički značajnih, uglavnom pozitivnih, ali vrlo slabih veza između zadanih varijabli. Pritom od deset postavljenih hipoteza, pet je potvrđeno, a ostalih pet ne daje nikakve značajne informacije o korelaciji između varijabli. Povezanost između negativnih osobina ličnosti igrača i negativnih elemenata igre postoji, kao i pozitivnih osobina ličnosti i pozitivnih praksi igre. Međutim, rezultati donose zaključak o potencijalnoj prezasićenosti elementima u igri, što dovodi do otežanog odabira načina igre. Uz to, igrači mogu biti pod utjecajem vlastitog manjka samopoštovanja ili nezadovoljstva okolinom što naposljetku u psihološkom smislu rezultira zatvaranjem u okvire virtualnog svijeta i stvaranjem vlastitog idealnog okruženja., The main aim of the paper is to establish the link between the personality traits of the player's video game The Sims 4 and some elements of the game, as well as to evaluate the strength of that connection. The focus of this research puts on the Big Five model and the five personality features it represents. At the beginning of the research, the question about the process of reflecting certain features of gamer's personality on game play modes is raised. Online survey was used as a data collection method with answers that were collected from 299 respondents from 31 countries, with whose quantitative analysis the program ultimately came to these results. A detailed insight into the results leads to the conclusion about the existence of statistically significant, mostly positive but very weak, links between the given variables. Ten of the hypotheses were set out from which five were confirmed, and the other five did not give any significant correlation information between the variables. The link between the negative personality traits of the player and the negative elements of the game exists, as well as the positive personality traits and the positive practices of the game. However, the results make a conclusion about the potential overcrowding of the elements in the game, which leads to difficult game selection. In addition, players may be affected by their own lack of self-esteem or discontent with the environment, which ultimately results psychologically by closing in the virtual world and creating their own ideal environment.
