Abstract: We have studied the phi -> a(0)(980)gamma process with the KLOE detector at the Frascati phi-factory DA Phi NE by detecting the phi -> eta pi(0)gamma decays in the final states with eta -> gamma gamma and eta -> pi(+)pi(-)pi(0). We have measured the branching ratios for both final states: Br(phi -> eta pi(0)gamma) = (7.01 +/- 0.10 +/- 0.20) x 10(-5) and (7.12 +/- 0.13 +/- 0.22) x 10(-5), respectively. We have also extracted the a(0)(980) mass and its couplings to eta pi(0), K(+)K(-), and to the phi meson from the fit of the eta pi(0) invariant mass distributions using different phenomenological models.

Abstract: We have studied the vector to pseudoscalar conversion decay phi -> eta e+e-, with eta -> pi0pi0pi0, with the KLOE detector at DAPHNE. The data set of 1.7 fb-1 of e+e- collisions at sqrt(s)~Mphi contains a clear conversion decay signal of ~31,000 events from which we measured a value of BR(phi -> eta e+e-)=(1.075+-0.007+-0.038)x10-4. The same sample is used to determine the transition form factor by a fit to the e+e- invariant mass spectrum, obtaining b(phi eta) =(1.17 +- 0.10 + 0.07) GeV-2, that improves by a factor of five the precision of the previous measurement and is in good agreement with VMD expectations., Comment: 13 pages, 6 figures, submitted to PLB

Abstract: We present precise measurements of the eta and K-0 masses using the processes phi -> eta gamma, eta -> gamma gamma and phi -> KSKL, K-S -> pi(+)pi(-). The K-0 mass measurement, M-K = 497.583 +/- 0.005(stat) +/- 0.020(syst) MeV, is in acceptable agreement with the previous measurements but is more accurate. We find m(eta) = 547.874 +/- 0.007(stat) +/- 0.029(syst) MeV. Our value is the most accurate to date and is in agreement with two recent measurements based on eta decays, but is inconsistent, by about 10 sigma, with a measurement of comparable precision based on eta production at threshold.

Abstract: We have measured the cross section sigma(e(+)e(-) --> pi (+) pi (-) y) at an energy W = m(phi) = 1.02 GeV with the KLOE detector at the electron-positron collider DAPhiNE. From the dependence of the cross section on the invariant mass of the two-pion system, we extract sigma(e(+) e(-) --> pi(+)pi(-)) for the mass range 0.35 < s < 0.95 GeV2. From this result, we calculate the pion form factor and the hadronic contribution to the muon anomaly, A(mu). (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Abstract: The Kloe experiment has measured the radiative decays of the phi meson into pi(0), eta and eta'(958),these measurements are relevant to assess' the mixing in the pseudoscalar nonet as well as to evaluate the gluon content in the eta'(958). Moreover also the radiative decays into pi(0)pi(0)gamma and etapi(0)gamma have been measured. These decays axe dominated by the final states f(o)(980) and a(o)(980). The measurement of the branching ratios and of the pi(0)-pi(0) or eta-pi(0) invariant mass spectrum helps to understand the controversial nature of the above scalar mesons.

Abstract: We have searched for the C-violating decay eta --> gammagammagamma in a sample of similar to 18 million eta mesons produced in phi --> etagamma decays, collected with the KLOE detector at the Frascati phi-factory DAPhiNE. No signal is observed and we obtain the upper limit BR(eta --> gammagammagamma) less than or equal to 1.6 x 10(-5) at 90% CL. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Abstract: Neutral kaons from meson decays are produced in pairs, which offers the possibility to select pure kaon beams: the detection of a Ks (KL) tags the presence of a KL (Ks), the same holds for charged kaons. This allows to perform precise measurement of kaon properties. Additionally, these neutral kaon pairs are produced in a pure quantum state (JPC = 1−−), which allows to investigate CP and CPT symmetries via quantum interference effects, as well as the basic principles of quantum mechanics. Introduction to kaon interferometry and the results on the decoherence parameter and CPT test obtained by the KLOE experiment at the DAΦNE e+e− collider will be presented together with prospects for KLOE-2 project.

Abstract: We present a new limit on the production of a light dark-force mediator with the KLOE detector at DAPHNE. This boson, called U, has been searched for in the decay phi --> eta U, U --> e+ e-, analyzing the decay eta --> pi0 pi0 pi0 in a data sample of 1.7 fb-1. No structures are observed in the e+e- invariant mass distribution over the background. This search is combined with a previous result obtained from the decay eta --> pi+ pi- pi0, increasing the sensitivity. From this we derive the partial width {\Gamma}({\eta}-->{\gamma}{\gamma}) = (520 \pm 20_{stat} \pm 13_{syst}) eV. Abstract: Neutral kaons produced in correlated pairs at a phi-factory offer unique possibilities to perform fundamental tests of CPT invariance, as well as of the basic principles of quantum mechanics. The analysis of the data collected by the KLOE experiment at DAFNE is still ongoing with the aim of improving previous results and limits on several parameters describing CPT violation and decoherence. Ancillary measurements like the regeneration cross section on the beam pipe materials are also in progress and will be very useful to reduce the systematic uncertainties. Prospects on improvements at the KLOE-2 experiment, aiming at an increase of the integrated luminosity of about a factor of ten with an upgraded detector, will be also discussed., Comment: 8 pages, 6 figures

Abstract: The ratio R_{\eta}=\Gamma(\eta -> \pi^+\pi^-\gamma)/\Gamma(\eta -> \pi^+\pi^-\pi^0) has been measured by analyzing 22 million \phi \to \eta \gamma decays collected by the KLOE experiment at DA\PhiNE, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 558 pb^{-1}. The \eta \to \pi^+\pi^-\gamma proceeds both via the \rho resonant contribution, and possibly a non-resonant direct term, connected to the box anomaly. Our result, R_{\eta}= 0.1856\pm 0.0005_{stat} \pm 0.0028_{syst}, points out a sizable contribution of the direct term to the total width. The di-pion invariant mass for the \eta -> \pi^+\pi^-\gamma decay could be described in a model-independent approach in terms of a single free parameter, \alpha. The determined value of the parameter \alpha is \alpha = (1.32 \pm 0.08_{stat} +0.10/-0.09_{syst}\pm 0.02_{theo}) GeV^{-2}, Comment: Paper in press, accepted by PLB

Abstract: In the upcoming month the KLOE-2 data taking campaign will start at the upgraded DAFNE phi-factory of INFN Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati. The main goal is to collect an integrated luminosity of about 20 fb^(-1) in 3-4 years in order to refine and extend the KLOE program on both kaon physics and hadron spectroscopy. Abstract: We have measured the cross section of the radiative process e+e- -> pi+pi-gamma with the KLOE detector at the Frascati phi-factory DAPHNE, from events taken at a CM energy W=1 GeV. Initial state radiation allows us to obtain the cross section for e+e- -> pi+pi-, the pion form factor |F_pi|^2 and the dipion contribution to the muon magnetic moment anomaly, Delta a_mu^{pipi} = (478.5+-2.0_{stat}+-5.0_{syst}+-4.5_{th}) x 10^{-10} in the range 0.1 < M_{pipi}^2 < 0.85 GeV^2, where the theoretical error includes a SU(3) ChPT estimate of the uncertainty on photon radiation from the final pions. Abstract: We present a measurement of the slope parameter $\alpha$ for the $\eta\to 3\pi^{0}$ decay, with the KLOE experiment at the DA$\Phi$NE $\phi$-factory, based on a background free sample of $\sim$ 17 millions $\eta$ mesons produced in $\phi$ radiative decays. By fitting the event density in the Dalitz plot we determine $\alpha = -0.0301 \pm 0.0035\,stat\;_{-0.0035}^{+0.0022}\,syst\,$. Abstract: Investigation at a $��$--factory can shed light on several debated issues in particle physics. We discuss: i) recent theoretical development and experimental progress in kaon physics relevant for the Standard Model tests in the flavor sector, ii) the sensitivity we can reach in probing CPT and Quantum Mechanics from time evolution of entangled kaon states, iii) the interest for improving on the present measurements of non-leptonic and radiative decays of kaons and eta/eta$^\prime$ mesons, iv) the contribution to understand the nature of light scalar mesons, and v) the opportunity to search for narrow di-lepton resonances suggested by recent models proposing a hidden dark-matter sector. Abstract: We have studied the phi->a_0(980) gamma process with the KLOE detector at the Frascati phi-factory DAPhNE by detecting the phi->eta pi^0 gamma decays in the final states with eta->gamma gamma and eta->pi^+ pi^- pi^0. We have measured the branching ratios for both final states: Br(phi->eta pi^0 gamma)=(7.01 +/- 0.10 +/- 0.20)x10^-5 and (7.12 +/- 0.13 +/- 0.22)x10^-5 respectively. We have also extracted the a_0(980) mass and its couplings to eta pi^0, K^+ K^-, and to the phi meson from the fit of the eta pi^0 invariant mass distributions using different phenomenological models., Comment: 17 pages, 6 figures, submitted to Physics Letters B. Abstract: We present precise measurements of the eta and K0 masses using the processes phi to eta gamma, eta to gamma gamma and phi to Ks Kl, Ks to pi+ pi-. The K0 mass measurement, M_K=497.583 +/- 0.005 (stat) +/- 0.020 (syst) MeV, is in acceptable agreement with the previous measurements but is more accurate. We find m(eta) = 547.874 +/- 0.007 (stat) +/- 0.031 (syst) MeV. Our value is the most accurate to date and is in agreement with two recent measurements based on eta decays, but is inconsistent, by about 10 sigma, with a measurement of comparable precision based on eta production at threshold., Comment: 15 pages, 8 figures Submitted to Physics Letters B

Abstract: A measurement of the cross section for production of single, isolated photons is reported for transverse energies in the range of 10-125 GeV for two regions of pseudorapidity, |η| < 0.9 and 1.6 < |η| < 2.5. The data represent 12.9 pb-1 of integrated luminosity accumulated in p̄p collisions at √s = 1.8 TeV and recorded with the DO detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The background, predominantly from jets which fragment to neutral mesons, is estimated using the longitudinal shower shape in the calorimeter. In both pseudorapidity regions the cross section is found to agree with the next-to-leading order QCD prediction for 30 ≲ ET y ≲ 80 GeV.

Abstract: The distribution of the transverse energy in jets has been measured in pp collisions at s=1.8 TeV TeV using the DØ detector at Fermilab. This measurement of the jet shape is made as a function of jet transverse energy in both the central and forward rapidity regions. Jets are shown to narrow both with increasing transverse energy and with increasing rapidity. Next-to-leading order partonic QCD calculations are compared to the data. Although the calculations qualitatively describe the data, they are shown to be very dependent on renormalization scale, parton clustering algorithm, and jet direction definition and they fail to describe the data in all regions consistently. © 1995.

Abstract: We report the measurement of the ratio $\Gamma(\eta \to \pi^+\pi^-\gamma)/\Gamma(\eta \to \pi^+\pi^-\pi^0)$ analyzing a large sample of $\phi \to \eta \gamma$ decays recorded with the KLOE experiment at the DA$\Phi$NE $e^+ e^-$ collider, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 558 pb$^{-1}$. The $\eta \to \pi^+\pi^-\gamma$ process is supposed to proceed both via a resonant contribution, mediated by the $\rho$ meson, and a non resonant direct term, connected to the box anomaly. The presence of the direct term affects the partial width value. Our result $R_{\eta}=\Gamma(\eta \to \pi^+ \pi^- \gamma)/\Gamma(\eta \to \pi^+ \pi^- \pi^0)= 0.1838\pm 0.0005_{stat} \pm 0.0030_{syst}$ is in agreement with a recent CLEO measurement, which differs by more 3 $\sigma$ from the average of previous results. Our result $R_{\eta}=\Gamma(\eta \to \pi^+ \pi^- \gamma)/\Gamma(\eta \to \pi^+ \pi^- \pi^0)= 0.1838\pm 0.0005_{stat} \pm 0.0030_{syst}$ is in agreement with a recent CLEO measurement, which differs by more 3 $\sigma$ from the average of previous results.

Abstract: The processes $e^+e^-\to e^+e^-X$, with $X$ being either the $\eta$ meson or $\pi^0\pi^0$, are studied at DA$\Phi$NE, with $e^+e^-$ beams colliding at $\sqrt{s}\simeq1$ GeV, below the $\phi$ resonance peak. The data sample is from an integrated luminosity of 240 pb$^{-1}$, collected by the KLOE experiment without tagging of the outgoing $e^+e^-$. Abstract: We have studied J/ψ production in pp̄ collisions at √s = 1.8 TeV with the DØ detector at Fermilab using μ+/μ- data. We have measured the inclusive J/ψ production cross section as a function of J/ψ transverse momentum, pT. For the kinematic range pT > 8 GeV/c and |η\ < 0.6 we obtain σ(pp̄ → J/ψ + X) ·Br(J/ψ → μ+μ-) = 2.08 ± 0.17(stat) ± 0.46(syst) nb. Using the muon impact parameter we have estimated the fraction of J/ψ mesons coming from B meson decays to be fb = 0.35 ± 0.09(stat)±0.10(syst) and inferred the inclusive b production cross section. From the information on the event topology the fraction of nonisolated J/ψ events has been measured to be fnonisol = 0.64 ± 0.08(stat)±0.06(syst). We have also obtained the fraction of J/ψ events resulting from radiative decays of χc states, fχ = 0.32 ± 0.07(stat)±0.07(syst). We discuss the implications of our measurements for charmonium production processes.

Abstract: Neutral kaon pairs produced in phi decays in anti-symmetric entangled state can be exploited to search for violation of CPT symmetry and Lorentz invariance. We present an analysis of the CP-violating process phi->K_S K_L->pi+pi-pi+pi- based on 1.7 fb-1 of data collected by the KLOE experiment at the Frascati phi-factory DAFNE. The data are used to perform a measurement of the CPT-violating parameters Delta_amu for neutral kaons in the contest of the Standard Model Extension framework. The parameters measured in the reference frame of the fixed stars are: Delta_ao = (-6.0 +- 7.7_{stat} +- 3.1_{syst}) x 10^{-18} GeV Delta_ax = ( 0.9 +- 1.5_{stat} +- 0.6_{syst}) x 10^{-18} GeV Delta_ay = (-2.0 +- 1.5_{stat} +- 0.5_{syst}) x 10^{-18} GeV Delta_az = ( 3.1 +- 1.7_{stat} +- 0.5_{syst}) x 10^{-18} GeV These are presently the most precise measurements in the quark sector of the Standard Model Extension., 16 pages, 6 figures, added few typo corrections

Abstract: Investigation at a $\phi$--factory can shed light on several debated issues in particle physics. We discuss: i) recent theoretical development and experimental progress in kaon physics relevant for the Standard Model tests in the flavor sector, ii) the sensitivity we can reach in probing CPT and Quantum Mechanics from time evolution of entangled kaon states, iii) the interest for improving on the present measurements of non-leptonic and radiative decays of kaons and eta/eta$^\prime$ mesons, iv) the contribution to understand the nature of light scalar mesons, and v) the opportunity to search for narrow di-lepton resonances suggested by recent models proposing a hidden dark-matter sector. Abstract: We update the values of the eta-eta' mixing angle and of the eta' gluonium content by fitting our measurement R_phi = BR(phi to eta' gamma)/ BR(phi to eta gamma) together with several vector meson radiative decays to pseudoscalars (V to P gamma), pseudoscalar mesons radiative decays to vectors (P to V gamma) and the eta' to gamma gamma, pi^0 to gamma gamma widths. From the fit we extract a gluonium fraction of Z^2_G = 0.12 +- 0.04, the pseudoscalar mixing angle psi_P = (40.4 +- 0.6) degree and the phi-omega mixing angle psi_V = (3.32 +- 0.09) degree. Z^2_G and psi_P are fairly consistent with those previously published. We also evaluate the impact on the eta' gluonium content determination of future experimental improvements of the eta' branching ratios and decay width., Comment: 13 pages, 7 figures to submit to JHEP

Abstract: We have studied, with the KLOE detector at the DA$\Phi$NE $\Phi$-Factory, the dynamics of the decay $\eta\to\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0$ using $\eta$ mesons from the decay $\phi\to\eta\gamma$ for an integrated luminosity ${\mathcal L}$ = 450 pb$^{-1}$. From a fit to the Dalitz plot density distribution we obtain a precise measurement of the slope parameters. An alternative parametrization relates the $\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0$ slopes to that for $\eta\to 3\pi^0$ showing the consistency of KLOE results for both channels. We also obtain the best confirmation of the $C$-invariance in the $\eta\to\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0$ decay., Comment: 15 pages, 7 figures
