Organic single crystal of p-Toluidinium l -Tartrate (PTLT) was grown from aqueous solution by slow evaporation technique. X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed the crystal structure and high resolution XRD showed the crystalline perfection of the grown crystal. UV–vis spectral analysis revealed the cut-off wavelength at deep UV region and band gap energy of the grown crystal. The second order nonlinear optical properties of the grown crystal were ascertained by Kurtz-Perry powder technique. The laser damage threshold value of PTLT (2.0 GW/cm2) was estimated and it is relatively higher than that of Ammonium hydrogen l -Tartrate single crystal (0.53 GW/cm2). A novel 4-methylpyridinium 3-nitrophthalate (4MP3NP) was synthesized and the crystals were grown by using slow evaporation method. The structural data of the grown crystal was collected by single crystal X-ray diffraction. It revealed that the 4MP3NP crystal belongs to triclinic crystal system with a space group P1. Structure of the synthesized compound was established using SHELXL 97 program package. The crystalline nature and composition of the grown crystal was established using high resolution X-ray diffraction and FT-IR analyses. UV-Vis transmittance and photoluminescence studies revealed the optical transmission window and electronic transition mechanism of ions, respectively. The laser damage threshold of the grown crystal was estimated by Nd:YAG laser and these results were mutually related to specific heat capacity of the grown crystal. Nonlinear optics (NLO) materials have a significant impact on laser technology, optical communication, optical storage technology, and electrooptic modulation. Nonlinear optical single crystal of L-phenylalanine benzoic acid has been grown by slow evaporation. The XRD analysis confirms that the crystal belongs to the monoclinic system with noncentrosymmetric space group P21. Microhardness investigations are conducted on the grown crystals. The dielectric response of the sample is studied as a function of different frequencies and different temperatures.
