Abstract

The article discusses the National Archives of Ireland (NAI) established in 1986 which has a statutory obligation to preserve public records and holds the archives of many government departments and offices of State. It states that it has also acquired over many decades, hundreds of collections of records from private sources and businesses and to include a wide range of records of relevance to the Electricity Supply Board (ESB).
