Poor wound treatment impacts millions of humans worldwide, increasing deaths and costs. Wounds have three key complications: (a) a lack of an adequate environment for cell migration, proliferation, and angiogenesis; (b) microbial infection; and (c) unstable and prolonged inflammation. Regrettably, contemporary therapeutic treatments have not entirely tackled these basic difficulties and thus have insufficient medical accomplishment. The incorporation of the extraordinary capabilities of nanomaterials in wound healing has achieved major successes over the years. Nanomaterials can promote a variety of cellular and molecular processes that assist in the wound microenvironment through antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and angiogenic activities, potentially shifting the surroundings from nonhealing to healing. The current review focuses on novel techniques, with a particular focus on recent revolutionary wound healing and infection control tactics based on nanomaterials, such as nanoparticles, nanocomposites, and scaffolds, which are discussed in depth. Furthermore, the effectiveness of nanoparticles as carriers for therapeutic compounds in woundhealing applications has been investigated which provide researchers an up-to-date sources on the use of nanomaterials and their creative ways that can improve wound-healing uses. The basics and uses of the micellar system extraction technique (MSE) for extracting and preconcentrating nanoparticles and bioactive compounds (medicines and vitamins) are covered in this review. Hence, the influential factors of the MSE and applications are offered. The MSE, like any separation process, extracts the analytes in a small phase from the solution to improve analysis quality and remove sample background interference. The MSE has several advantages over other preconcentration and separation methods, such as speed, cheapness, security, selectivity, and safety. The use of toxic organic solvents is reduced or ignored, and the process is economical and environmentally friendly. In the latest works of literature, three different procedures use to extract nanomaterials. Green nanomaterial synthesis is the process of producing various metallic nanoparticles (MNPs) utilizing bioactive reagents. It attempts to reduce waste and promote environmental sustainability by employing mild reaction conditions and safe materials. Researchers have demonstrated a strong interest in using natural biomolecules extracted from plants to synthesize MNPs. The individual biomolecules in this plant extract function as reducing, capping, and stabilizing substances in the green production of stable MNPs using their related metal ion precursor solution. The advantages of this method are that it is environmentally friendly, does not require energy, and is cheap and quick. Recently, MNPs have been developed in the field of cancer due to various qualities, including their increased reactive surfaces and small specified volume, which make them suited for traditional small pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical compounds. MNPs, such as gold (AuNPs), silver (AgNPs) and copper (CuNPs), are increasingly being used as anticancer agents. This review describes the synthesis of three MNPs: AuNPs, AgNPs and CuNPs nanoparticles from plant extracts. AgNPs are the most often used synthetic NPs, accounting for more than 25% of all consumer items. AgNPs are generally employed for antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral purposes. Also, the anti-cancer activities of the MNPs were explained. The challenges and predicted developments for future studies are addressed, which are critical for real-world applications.
