The article discusses the German consonant clusters which are useful in studying music. It focuses on the two distinct groups of consonants which include syllable-interior and cross syllable or word boundaries. It presents a tabular form of cluster environments of German and English, which could be useful to consider all the consonantal combinations that are admissible in each language. It is indicated that some clusters conform to the phonotactic rules of the language, but are very rarely employed or completely absent from the lexis.
