Abstract

The article discusses a technique used for capping excavated archeological sites to protect from the penetration of rainwater that provides an alternative to cement mortar. Details are provided on how a mixture of mud, pebbles, and san can be mixed into a protective layer similar to the process used to conserve structures at Ranigat, a Buddhist site in Gandhara, Pakistan dating between the first and sixth centuries.
