Introduction: Sella Turcica (ST), a complex bony landmark located on the body of sphenoid bone. Its lateral bony wall mainly consists of anterior and posterior clinoid processes and optic strut which bear a strong relationship with pituitary fossa. Aim: To estimate various morphometric parameters of ST, Anterior Clinoid Process (ACP) with its anatomical variations, Optic Strut (OS) and Carotico-clinoid Foramen (CCF) among North Indian population group. Materials and Methods: The present cross-sectional anatomical study was conducted on 30 adult dry fully ossified skull and 10 formalin fixed adult cadaveric cranial base present in the Department of Anatomy, SGT University Gurugram, Haryana, India, over a period of one year from January 2021 to December 2021 to evaluate various morphometric parameters such as anteroposterior, transverse diameter and depth of sellar region including ACPs with various bony distances. The range, mean and standard deviation of each parameters were measured by using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) latest version (version 21.0) and Student's t-test was applied for bilateral comparison. Frequency of morphological variability of CCF was calculated in percentages. Results: Among the 40 samples (both dry skull base and cadaveric skulls) the average dimensions of ST were 10.03±2.40 mm, 13.65±2.09 mm and 5.74±1.92 mm as anteroposterior, transverse and depth, respectively. The length, width and thickness of ACP were 11.22±1.74 mm, 8.04±1.73 mm and 2.27±0.70 mm, respectively. Also the length and width of OS were 3.61±0.78 mm and 3.72±0.47 mm, respectively. Significant difference was observed for distance of ACP to OS. The frequency of CCF was 10 (25%) among the total samples both bilateral and unilateral; out of which 8 (80%) of the samples presented with incomplete foramen, 1 (10%) presented contact type of CCF, and 1 (10%) of the samples exhibited a complete variety of CCF. Conclusion: Bilateral significant difference was observed for the transverse diameter. The mean value for length of ACP was found significant. Detailed morphometry and morphological variations of structures present in sellar region is mandatory for the clinicians specially neurosurgeons and radiologist for the diagnosis and to decide the modality of treatment. Introduction: Bicipital Groove (BG) represents an indentation on the proximal humerus which lodges tendon of Long Head of Biceps (LHB) brachii with synovial sheath. It's medial and lateral walls are formed by lesser and greater tubercles respectively and the transverse humeral ligament converts it into a tunnel. Aim: To find a detailed morphometry attributing to morphological classification of BG among North Indian population. Materials and Methods: The present observational study was conducted over a period of one year on 100 adult intact dry humerii of unknown sexes obtained from Osteology Museum, Department of Anatomy, Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary (SGT) University, Gurugram, Haryana, India for several morphometric parameters like length, width, depth, length of medial and lateral walls as per descriptive statistics using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 21.0. BG was classified according to the depth, opening angle and medial wall angles. Morphological features like Supratubercular Ridge (STR) of Meyer's, bony spur on the floor of the groove or thickening of the walls were also observed and the frequency distribution was presented and Independent t-test was applied to compare the parameters on both sides. Results: Out of 100 sample, the mean of each parameter was length 72.98±7.54 mm, width 9.12±2.18.mm, depth 5.49±1.56. mm, medial wall and lateral wall length 54.83±8.62 mm and 60.82±8.01 mm respectively, opening angle 72.27±18.12° and medial angle 65.27±10.71°. Mostly BG had a depth of 4-6 mm with an incidence of 48%. Opening angle of BG was small (<95°) in 84% of humerus and maximum belonged to type 1 (90° to 75°) variety. Around 34% bones were showing morphological changes, out of which STR was 47.05%, bony spur on the floor of BG was 20.58% with wall thickening in 32.35% of total humerus. Conclusion: The detailed morphometry and classification of BG will serve as a reference base for North Indian population. It will be also useful for the clinicians as they should be well verged with the various morphological appearances of BG among dry bones and radiographs for proper diagnosis and treatment. Introduction: Dimensions of acromion process are important to show linkage to the shoulder girdle pathologies. Also morphometric analysis of acromion process would be helpful for surgeons while performing surgical procedures on the shoulder joint. Aim: The purpose of this present study was to observe the detailed morphometric evaluation of adult acromion processes in North Indian population because different morphometric dimensions play an important role in various disorders of the shoulder, particularly sub acromial impingement syndrome. Materials and Methods: Two hundred adult dry scapulae from the osteology museum of MAMC, New Delhi, were obtained for evaluation of various measurement of acromion process. The length, width, thickness of acromion, coraco-acromial (C-A) distance and acromio-glenoid (Ac-g) distance were measured. The measurements were compared with other osteological studies performed on different population group. Data was analysed using SPSS version 12.0 and mean values with standard deviation for each dimension were presented. Results: The mean values of each measurement were: length: 41.007 mm; width: 21.82 mm; thickness: 6.58 mm; C-A distance: 28.34 mm and Ac-g distance: 26.21 mm. Conclusion: It is expected that various dimensions of adult acromion process will serve as a reference base and will assist the surgeon in the approach to be used and precision of the operative technique. • MRI morphometrics of very preterm infants were obtained between 29-35 weeks PMA. • Cortical GM volume and shape predict motor and cognitive outcomes at 2 years. • Demonstrates utility of early neonatal brain MRI for estimating 2-year outcomes. Infants born very preterm face a range of neurodevelopmental challenges in cognitive, language, behavioural and/or motor domains. Early accurate identification of those at risk of adverse neurodevelopmental outcomes, through clinical assessment and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), enables prognostication of outcomes and the initiation of targeted early interventions. This study utilises a prospective cohort of 181 infants born <31 weeks gestation, who had 3T MRIs acquired at 29-35 weeks postmenstrual age and a comprehensive neurodevelopmental evaluation at 2 years corrected age (CA). Cognitive, language and motor outcomes were assessed using the Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development – Third Edition and functional motor outcomes using the Neuro-sensory Motor Developmental Assessment. By leveraging advanced structural MRI pre-processing steps to standardise the data, and the state-of-the-art developing Human Connectome Pipeline, early MRI biomarkers of neurodevelopmental outcomes were identified. Using Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO) regression, significant associations between brain structure on early MRIs with 2-year outcomes were obtained (r = 0.51 and 0.48 for motor and cognitive outcomes respectively) on an independent 25% of the data. Additionally, important brain biomarkers from early MRIs were identified, including cortical grey matter volumes, as well as cortical thickness and sulcal depth across the entire cortex. Adverse outcome on the Bayley-III motor and cognitive composite scores were accurately predicted, with an Area Under the Curve of 0.86 for both scores. These associations between 2-year outcomes and patient prognosis and early neonatal MRI measures demonstrate the utility of imaging prior to term equivalent age for providing earlier commencement of targeted interventions for infants born preterm.
